The Setting:
Terranis, A world not unlike our own. On the continent of Rakthor, civilization thrived, forming into five distinct countries; Anise, Rutgard, Ernitka, Aluna, and Drusk. Apart from the occasional small skirmish, peace reigned for many centuries.
9 years ago a revolutionary breakthrough was made by Professor Trey Sunding. Prof. Sunding discovered a way to bend space, creating a wormhole that could allow instantaneous travel from one location to another. With the advent of wormhole, the world was brought closer than it had ever been. Each country set up major wormhole depots, linking all around the continent. Everyday life was revolutionized: Motor vehicles became a rarity, as time spent traveling was cut down to however far the nearest wormhole depot was. The borders of countries became more blurred as in a single step you could travel hundreds of miles, going from the capital of Aluna to a Drusk metalwork as quickly and easily as walking out you own front door.
Everything seemed perfect. But alas, no calm comes without a storm.
6 years ago disaster stuck, as Rustol, the capitol city of Ernitka, was hit by a massive earthquake. The shockwaves tore through the largest wormhole depot, the destruction of so many wormhole gates at once causing a chain reaction resulting in an explosion that rendered the entire city a desolate wasteland in moments.
Upon seeing this destruction, many began to mistrust the wormholes. Rutgard decommissioned ever wormhole in the country, outlawing wormhole travel inside it’s borders, and essentially cutting itself off from the rest of the continent. Meanwhile Drusk believed that it was not the earthquake, but sabotage that caused the devastating explosion, and the culprits were merely using the natural disaster as a cover up. Tensions began to run high between countries, as with Rutgard‘s withdrawal, Drusk’s suspicion fell onto them. Many feared that this could escalate into a full on war.
And that was when the rifts began to appear.
It began with sightings of strange creatures, unlike any that had been seen before. The had tremendous physical strength, and almost magical abilities, such as altering dreams, psycokinetically moving objects, and even controlling the elements themselves. Eyewitness reports claimed that these beings had emerged from what could best be described as tears in reality. These rifts in space lasted only a few hours before disappearing, but the creatures that came though and the destruction they caused remained.
At first, Drusk believed these creatures were another attack sent by Rutgard, but when Rutgard’s capitol, Redinas, was attacked by one of the monsters, burning half the city to the ground before it could be stopped, Drusk reluctantly agreed that was not the case. Agreeing that these beasts could not be allowed free reign, a unified strike force was created to deal with these newly dubbed “Pokemon.” The forces quickly learned that not all of these creatures were hostile, and eventually the governments began assigning their agents with Pokemon partners to help in their missions.
With more and more pokemon appearing, and tensions still near breaking point, the USF work to quell the fear of these pokemon, and to uncover the truth behind the appearance of the rifts.
The Teams:
Note: this is just a guideline, your character’s motivation and backstory don’t have to match up to these 100% if you don’t want them to.
Agents of Shadow: A group created by the Drusk government. Previously a black ops division, their current job is to get to the rifts first, and capture anything that may come through before the strike force gets there.
Avalon Apostles: The unified emergency services of Aluna, they previously handled policing, rescue, medical, and many other services. With the appearance of the Rifts, a new division has been created, to handle pokemon related issues, and many members are part of the unified strike force.
Sabotage Squadron: A group of rebels, spread throughout the continent, though their main base of operations is in Drusk. They believe that the pokemon shouldn’t be controlled by the government, and everyone should have access to the powers they wield.
The Order of the Sun: Based in Anise, the Order of the Sun is focused on freedom over everything else, working on pokemon conservation areas, and trying to keep the creatures for out of the governments hands.
Locations:
Anise: Known for it’s picturesque beaches, Anise is a top vacation spot, and is often littered with tourists. It’s capitol, Merius, is known for it’s high-end movie productions, and every actor across the land dreams of making it big there.
Rutgard: Mountainous terrain makes up much of this land. The climate is colder that others, and the ground more rocky and barren. It’s capitol, Redinas, is nestled high in the mountains, and is known for it’s frequent snow and haunting music.
Ernitka: Much of the landscape is taken up with deserts. There are relatively few habitable spots compared to the other lands. The new capitol, Sendrel, is build around an oasis, and contains many of the continents largest markets, while Rustol, the former capitol is nothing more than charred remains and a monument to the tragedy.
Aluna: A country more rooted in the past, the stone and wood buildings looking old fashioned, unlike the sleek steel buildings of Drusk. Much of the land is commonly covered in mist, and the Capitol, Erana, is no different, giving it’s high castle-like walls an extra ominous feeling.
Drusk: A bustling metropolis, almost every inch of Drusk in covered in buildings. Factories, shopping centers, residential housing, and even amusement parks cram together so much that it’s sometime hard to tell where one city ends and another begins. It’s capitol is Trinox, a city of towering black metal skyscrapers and smoke belching metalworks.

Follow PXR Rules: It’s happening on this site, so it’s a no-brainer that you need to follow the rules.
No Godmodding/Bunnying: Don’t make your character invincible, unstoppable, or pretty much god-like. Using knowledge gained out of character also count for this. And no controlling other people’s characters either. Pretty standard rules.
Try to keep it PG-13. Think more Saturday morning cartoon superheroes and less deadpool.

Judging Guideline:
Each player will be graded by the following categories, with 100 points divided appropriately between all participants of that week based on their scores.
Spelling & Grammar: Self evident; if you post entirely in 1337 text speak then you won’t get many point here. As long as it’s readable, you should do fine.
Driving Force: How vital is your character to the events of the story? A background character simply watching events unfold won’t score as much as one in the heat of the action.
Posting Frequency: While quality is more important, you can only move so far in a single post. A person who post regularly will get more points than the guy who just shows up once a week.
Player Interaction: How much of an impact on the other characters are you making? Whether working with your teammates or against enemy teams (Or even against your teammates or with enemy teams,) the more interaction with other players the better.
Continuity: Did you pull a death ray from out of thin air, with no indication that they even exist? But wait, now the metal tower you’re fighting on is made of glass, and you’ve just fallen through the plot hole you created to your doom! Good use of foreshadowing will score you points here, whereas big continuity errors will lose them.ě

Question: are we limited to one character per person, or can we have multiple?
Edit: (this is after LK's post, I just didn't want to add another post for a single question) If Mega evolution is allowed, are Z-moves as well? Would mega stones/Z-crystals appear randomly through the rifts, or would they be carried by pokemon as they came through?

Four questions:
One, do we begin with only the starter, or can there be other Pokémon on the team? If the former, can new partners be added as the RP progresses?
Two, is there a hard four-move limit, a larger limit, or is any move the Pokémon can learn fair play?
Three, do Pokeballs exist yet in this setting? Do healing berries and technology like those found in Pokémon Centers exist? Can Evolution Itens be bought or found, or stat boosting items?
And four, in the previous question’s vein, are we doing Mega Evolution here, and if so, what limits would it have, and how would it be triggered?

Another question! How "sapient" are Pokemon? Does intelligence vary between species, or are they all sapient? If so, can they communicate with humans; if yes, how?

Nope, you can have as many characters as you want :)
As for your second question, I'd say that Z crystals & Mega stone would be carried through the rifts by the pokemon themselves. Z-moves would work the same as Mega evolution, with the same restrictions I mention below, ie. a close bond and a man-made mega bracelet/z-ring gauntlet, and once it's been used both parties are physically exhausted.
1: I'd say you start with just the one "main" pokemon, maybe two at most. New ones can definitely be added to your team as the story goes along though.
2: No limit on the number of moves, anything that can be learned is fair game.
3: I'd say no to the pokeballs & pokemon center healing so far. The man-made healing like Potions & stat boosters would exist in this world, probably as standard issue form the government. For Berries a few plants would have come through the rift, so while not exactly common, the plants would exist here, though mainly for study.
Most evolution items would have come through the rifts too, so they'd be hard to find, but not out of the question.
4: Mega evolution would work like the games, where you need a close bond and the mega/key stones. In this case the stones would have been held by the pokemon when it came through the rift, and the keystone & bracelet would be man-made, probably standard issue. It would also be immensely tiring for both parties, so they could only keep it up for a few minutes at most, and would be exhausted afterward, so it would be a more last resort thing. And you'd need an extremely close bond for it to work, so you'd need to have been on a great many missions together beforehand.
Another question! How "sapient" are Pokemon? Does intelligence vary between species, or are they all sapient? If so, can they communicate with humans; if yes, how?
I'd say they're all equally sapient, at about the same level as Pikachu in the anime. They can kind of communicate with humans, but only with actions; Psychic pokemon and ones with auras like Lucario would be able to send thoughts with telepathy, but it would be more feelings than actual words, and otherwise it's more a game of charades to get across the point.
I might give this a shot, since no one from Agents plans to RP. :D
Awesome! Hope you do. :3

Following the mega evolution question, can Mega Stones be found for Pokemon be found for Pokemon that do not have mega evolutions in the games?

I've never done a freeform RP before. Are all characters in the same area, interacting with all others at the same time? Or will there be separate plotlines going where say 3 characters interact with and reply to each other, but in the same thread two others might be pursuing a different story?
Morzone

evanfardreamer Mainly the latter. For the most part Everyone will start separately in these kinds of RPs. Some people will start together, especially if one person has two or more characters, but that depends more on the background and role of the character. For instance one person might make two characters that are siblings, so they'd be rather likely to be in the same place together. Similarly, people on the same team (like you and me) have a better chance of starting in the same place. It just depends on how we want to co-ordinate it. Anyway, for an RP of this scale, with a large map that is essentially an entire continent and a limited number of people, there'd have to be a very unifying force to bring us all to the same spot, and even then it'd happen after quite some time. More likely people will gravitate toward who ever feels most natural to end up running into. It's more about keeping the RP feeling like things are moving and people are acting in a natural way, so as to keep the immersion. In terms of plot lines, while each group of interactees will be doing their own thing, everyone should be connected, in some way or another, to one central plot. But like I mentioned previously, this overall plot is something that would develop and bring everyone together slowly. Most of the time, people will be off in their own separate groups focusing on more goals more personal to their own situations.
Now on to my questions:
This RP situation sounds perfect for the rise of an underground evil team-Rocket style organization, And I was hoping to have my character (one of them anyway) secretly be a part of it. But would you prefer it be an organization that is being started, or one already powerful from the shadows, pulling strings? I'm asking because A large multinational evil organization is a fairly large plot piece and since the plot description didn't have anything like that, I didn't want to mess with any plans you had in terms of plot progression/development.

Morzone did a good job describing it. Pretty much, everyone's doing their own thing at first, but can meet up wth each other as the plot goes on. So closer the latter example, as pretty much everone is going along their own storyline, but the lines will intersect at points as the RP progresses.

I think the organisation already being established would work best, but either will fit in fine with what I've got so far, so take you pick. :)

Neo Emolga
07-15-2018, 11:57 PM
Name: Nathan "Neo" Winterfield
Gender: Male
Age: 38
Team: Avalon Apostles
Description: Standing 6'2", Nathan has a fair to tan skin completion and a strong, muscular build. Meanwhile, he has long, black hair, brown eyes, and a few scars from incidents in the field. At the same time, he's also perceptive and has a knack for tracking and reconnaissance work. He's able to pick up on a lot of things that others miss, and he is also quick to respond. As a result, he's one of the top rescue personnel in the team and is very akin to a park ranger throughout most of Aluna. He knows where the safe and dangerous areas are and he knows how to survive in the wilderness.
For clothing, Nathan usually dark gray protective combat gear in light of how dangerous some Pokémon can be. He knows even the small, unevolved ones can still be significantly dangerous. In the meantime, he wears a black bandana, black boots, and dark gray fingerless gloves.
While perceptive and agile, Nathan's weaknesses are from his strong desire to keep things basic and to the point. No fancy terms or lingo and no overly detailed explanations. He never excelled in math or in the sciences, so he leaves a lot of that research to the science personnel of the Avalon Apostles.
Personality: Nathan is somewhat of a casual, happy-go-lucky kind of guy who keeps it easy and calm where most others would panic. He's often using humor to help those being rescued stay at ease even in times of crisis. He also doesn't stress over things either and tells himself that as long as he did the best job he could, he shouldn't ever feel ashamed. He's had some difficult choices in the past, but he knows he can't go back in time to change the outcome and at the time, he knows he tried to do the best he could with the knowledge he had at the time. He knows he can't ask more of himself, so he takes it easy and tells himself every day is a new opportunity to do something good and meaningful.
In response to the new arrival of Pokémon, Nathan knows from experience that they need to be handled very carefully, and he has gained a handle on which ones can spit fire or thunder and which ones can cause heavy damage. Often, to pacify a Pokémon, he relies on tranquilizers or stun weapons, though they're not always dependable, so he often keeps a Plan B and Plan C in case things don't work out the first time. Naturally, he's able to improvise and at least turn failures around into something at least somewhat productive and beneficial. Very rarely does he go home empty-handed. He'll at least get a decent report out, even though paperwork isn't on Nathan's list of fun things to do.
Backstory: Nathan born in Maris to Rebecca Winterfield and James Winterfield. When he was young, Nathan aspired to go into law enforcement, but later on life steered him more toward volunteer work before becoming involved in search and rescue teams working throughout Aluna and some areas of Rutgard and Ernitka.
While Nathan wasn't in Redinas during the attack, he certainly heard about it and saw and had to save a lot of people from the anarchy. At first, he had negative perceptions on Pokémon and thought all of them were feral, foreign creatures that were out of control, but the more exposure he got to them, the more he realized that they're often like people with regards that there are some good ones among the bad ones. He found that many of them were scared, lost, and simply distrustful considering they were in a new environment and didn't understand what was going on with the rifts.
Since then, Nathan often finds himself searching and rescuing both humans and injured Pokémon. Meanwhile, he feels there is potential for humans and Pokémon to coexist, but it's going to be a long and difficult road, especially considering there are many humans that still feel the way he used to and greatly distrust Pokémon and see them as a destructive threat. Nathan knows it's difficult to convince them otherwise considering the destruction that befell Redinas, but he's willing to take things one small step at a time. Still, considering the nature of some of the more dangerous and hazardous Pokémon, Nathan sometimes feels that's a goal that may never reach a successful conclusion, and that some Pokémon and some humans will always just outright loathe each other.
Starting Pokemon: (Anything except legendaries.) Emolga (Blitz)
Blitz was originally a rescue Pokémon that was saved when he was separated from his parents during an attack with an Ursaring. Nathan, helping the electric flying squirrel heal from his injuries, eventually befriended the Emolga and decided to keep him around as a partner.
Blitz often takes the role of scouting for Nathan. In areas where there may be dangerous Pokémon, Blitz can fly up and scout ahead, and having Blitz spot any potential threats is far easier when dangerous Pokémon see far less harm in an Emolga than humans with machines.
Other: Nathan is adept at a wide variety of firearms, though most of them are for pacification purposes and are not to deal lethal force. However, he always keeps a few of those on hand in case things ever get dangerous enough to the point where it becomes a fight to the death.
Nathan also drives mainly all terrain vehicles like jeeps and such. He has his own packed with plenty of survival and reconnaissance gear. He has also been helping some of the researchers obtain Pokémon for studying.

Name: Daniel El Raye
Gender: male (trans)
Age: 22
Team: Sabotage Squadron
Description: Daniel stands at roughly 5’6”, and is of sleight build. He has blue eyes and dark blond, nearing brown, hair. It’s cut short, but the hair near his face is long enough to, on occasion, get in his eyes. There is also a fairly short beard on his lower jaw.
Daniel doesn’t usually wear flashy clothing, preferring comfort, practicality, and freedom of movement over a fashion statement. He tends to dress in blacks and greys, sometimes a splash of blue or violet working its way into his wardrobe. He typically ends up in a t-shirt, on specific black hoodie, sweatpants, and sneakers, with a satchel slung over his shoulder, containing a cell phone, swiss army knife, first-aid kit packed with supplies for both humans and Pokemon, snacks, and likely a bottle of water.
Daniel dons an ace ring, in which is set a keystone.
Daniel’s Pokemon partner is Elric, an absol. Elric is perhaps more slim and frailer than a typical absol, and has a collar around his neck with an absolite set in it.
Personality: Daniel is both a romantic and aromantic. He loves fantasy and science fiction novels, he loves the prospect of adventure, and is interested by urban legends and conspiracies, and has no interest whatsoever in any sort of romantic partnership. He is something of an introvert and a loner. He tends to act friendly with many people, but doesn’t consider himself someone’s friend unless he’s known them for a while. Those he considers friends, however, he loves, and would rather let himself be hurt if it meant a friend were spared the pain.
Daniel is impulsive and curious. If he wasn’t, he likely would not have gotten to be quite a powerful battler. He is good at improv and reacting intuitively, though he does have multiple tried-and-true strategies in battle that he sometimes falls back on. He isn’t especially confrontational, and rarely wins arguments. He does tend to be emotional, and can be overwhelmed by emotions or by his own senses.
Backstory: Daniel was born in Redinas, and did not really move around once. He enjoyed reading, but was also the type to grow restless easily, and so also spent a great deal of time going walking around the mountainous terrain, when it wasn’t snowing too hard. He enjoyed thinking about other worlds and mythical creatures, and dreamed of someday making them real through perhaps writing, or traveling to Merius and becoming an acting star. Utilizing portals, one summer Daniel’s family even managed to see a musical live in Merius, which was a dream come true for him.
By the time Daniel was 16, however, the earthquake had struck Rustol, and Rutgard became isolated. Daniel was disappointed by this, but his attention rapidly drifted to the strange creatures he began seeing from a distance on his walks. He repeatedly tried taking pictures of these creatures on his phone, but was never able to get an especially good shot of one, or get closer than several dozen yards to such a creature. Until one morning, when Daniel saw the white wolf, his future partner.
There had been a blizzard the previous night, and was still snowing slightly today, and the wolf would have blended in entirely if not for its furless black skin, scythelike horn and tail, and intelligent-seeming crimson eyes. It appeared malnourished and weak. Most people would have given the wolf a wide berth or run away, however Daniel was impulsive and extremely curious. He kept a cautious distance from the wolf, yes, but when it started walking away before pausing and seeming to wait for him, he did follow it.
According to some people, following a mysterious superpowered wolf that seems more intelligent than a typical animal would be begging for death or major injury. According the Daniel, this would turn out to be one of his smarter decisions, as while he was following that creature, his home city was attacked by a larger, scarier, more hostile creature. The moment Daniel heard destruction and panic in the distance, he called his parents. Upon no one picking up, he called the police. Upon being put on hold, he ran back to see what was happening, the wolf following him from a distance. When he arrived at the city, he saw an enraged and flaming dragon laying waste to the buildings.
Daniel was relieved to find that his parents were still alive. But since that day, a great many citizens of Redinas, Rutgard, and indeed the planet would believe the creatures dubbed Pokemon were feral beasts. Daniel was wary of many of the larger Pokemon. But he knew that if it wasn’t for that wolf, he likely would have been in mortal peril. Perhaps its appearance was a coincidence, but Daniel liked to believe that the wolf had known what was coming and wanted to help him.
It wasn’t the last time he saw that wolf. It refused to enter the rebuilding city, but in time it would regularly approach Daniel close enough to be touched, and never seemed to show aggression towards him. Possibly because Daniel had taken to feeding it, when it did appear. Daniel ended up naming it ‘Elric’ after the protagonist of a book he had once read. Over time, however, it became clear that Pokemon of any sort were understandably not welcome in the capital. Daniel heard of a civilian watch violently driving other Pokemon out of the city, and decided to leave for elsewhere with his new friend and partner.
After some traveling, in which Daniel and Elric learned how to fight, the pair found themselves in Drusk. Daniel made ends meet doing odd jobs, and eventually found himself recruited by an underground bodyguard group which used ‘unconventional methods’(Pokemon partners) to protect their clients. While in this group, Daniel received a Keystone and Absolite, for use in emergencies.
Three months after moving to Drusk, Daniel came into contact with the Sabotage Squadron, and ended up joining up with them. The two now have quite the reputation in Drusk and the surrounding areas as highly powerful battlers, only in part due to their uncanny power of ‘Mega Evolution’.

Name: Camellia Estrada
Gender: Female
Age: 29 years
Team: Avalon Apostles
Description: faceclaim: Lenora, Pokemon BW
A slightly plush woman whose soft edges stand in sharp contrast to calloused palms and soles. The bounding fizzes of her dark teal hair cannot even begun to be tamed by the red-and-pink-striped bandana tied to bind the upper edge of her forehead; reams of hair burst out like rounded bangs on either side of her face, unphased. She dons a white blouse, collar fashioned into a stiff ribbon above red-capped breast pockets. A wavy pink belt secured by a white clasp wraps around her wide waist. She's an expert on oversized pants--she sports a dark blue pair that fits snug at the top but expands out at the bottom, coming down just above her red shoes. When gardening or expecting an otherwise messy situation, she'll tie on a large pink apron. Camellia wears a beige messenger bag that carries her supplies.
Personality:
Camellia's got a fire, and she's not afraid to use it. She's sharp-tongued, quick-witted, and no-nonsense; she won't let anyone roll over her, and won't roll over for anyone. She's a strategist in the situations that she creates, but her unwillingness to back down (and her accompanying temper) makes her choices less-than-optimal at times. You know something's wrong when she does back down--it means her retribution is only delayed.
The woman's soft spots are few and far between; she's rough around the edges. She lets her guard down when she talks about plants and poisons and Pokemon and her profession, but one wonders if she didn't leave enough room in her heart for other things. Once you've got her on your side, you'll never make a better ally, but it's hard to gain her trust and get in her circle, and that's because she really doesn't care about anyone outside of it. The only exception seems to be with people who she finds some kind of kinship with, especially those who seem to have a similar background to hers.
She's also a survivalist--she'll do anything to make sure that she and the people she cares about survive, and knows her way around the wilderness. Even though she doesn't stand down, she tends to let others (like her allies and her Pokemon) do the fighting for her. While she doesn't want them to get hurt, she's aware of her weaknesses (both physical and mental), and knows that she operates better from behind the front lines.
Backstory:
They grew up in the thick of the city suburbs in small house they'd inherited from their parents, a relic from a time before the spaces and properties around them began to close in tight on their sparse lawns. When she was three, she remembers sitting in the back of the house with a plastic shovel beside her single mother, who pulled up dead grass to reveal the dry earth. She helped her mother plant the seeds. She loved watering in her little sunhat with her little pail.
Camellia's always had a way with plants. She's always had a sense for exactly how much water to give and exactly which plants need the right attention. She sold vegetables to the local farmer's market in high school to make a little extra on the side, so her mother wouldn't have to work as much, and decided that she'd go to school for botany there in Erana. Wormholes revolutionized the world when she was halfway through her degree. Her mother could get to work easier. They struggled a little less to pay the bills. Her mom always joked that this was the first technological invention she'd seen that "didn't leave us folk behind."
When her mother fell sick, though, they hadn't saved enough. This time, medicine and its price left them behind, and didn't look back. When she died, Camellia dropped out of school a year before graduating. She inherited the house, alone.
She got a job at the grocery store to pay off the funeral debts. She grew her own plants and withdrew from the rest of the world. Wake up, go to work, care for her plants, go to sleep. Every day was the same. Things became harder when the earthquake hit, and the wormholes were destroyed. People without enough cash to buy vehicles again were left stranded away from jobs. She lived off of what little savings she had, not sure where to go or what to do.
That was, until a little bulbous, green alien popped into her backyard one day.
She almost shooed it away like any other varmint when she found it rooting around in her garden. It looked up at her when she approached, cursing it in Spanish. She stopped. She stared. It burped as it looked up at her, sending a glob of poison onto one of her tomatoes. It dissolved nigh-instantly. She wondered if she should call the cops. But something about it seemed just as lonely as she was, so instead, she adopted it, and kept a close eye out. She'd seen the cities burned in the news, and the strike forces assembled to deal with the Pokemon.
While she was at work one day, a rabbit got into her garden. It fled when Ajani approached it, but the squat Ivysaur wasn't satisfied--vines up and waving, the poison-spitting plant beast spat his way through the fence after the rabbit and out into the street before losing the much-faster creature, but not before he was too far away to realize where he'd come from. Reports were quickly called in.
Camellia arrived home with him gone, and followed the acid-dripping path out of the garden and out into the street, and she panicked. A SFC car drove by. She ran after it, and arrived to three people and a couple of Pokemon clustered around a very scared Ajani, backed into a corner, poison dripping nervously from his lips. Even as she approached, shouting, she overheard the word euthanasia tossed around. It continued even after she walked up, protested, and even after one stepped away to push her back while they advanced on Ajani.
One of the men's large, white owls suddenly glowed a brilliant pink, sending the other two to the ground. Ajani moved quickly, vines snaring and subduing the other Pokemon. The man's name was Emmett, and he quickly took the appropriate measures to make sure that Ajani was tame, like Camellia said. The grass doggo's receptiveness to a belly rub convinced him. And from then on, Camellia had an ally. And so she stuck to him like glue. He wanted to heal, and so she helped him. She'd always tell him it was because she owed him, but a small part of her hoped to do for others what poverty could not do for her mom.
Starting Pokemon:
Ajani the Vensaur
male / stalwart protector, heavy lifter, grass lizard who spits poison / larger than usual fat boi
Other: A botanist who's become fascinated with the alien berries brought by the rift. Plant expert who also loves poisons. Can tell you want not to eat to survive, but can also lie about it. Fluent in Spanish, curses people out in it.

Do Ultra Beasts count as Legendary Pokemon?
EDIT: Also, how long ago did the Rifts open up? It says "6 years ago" for both the wormhole invention and for the earthquake, so I'm confused here.

Awesome! Having it established is easier so I'll go with that. DO you want me to PM you what I have in mind? Cause I also don't mind letting out details here and having other people join me in my evil capers.
I'm fine with you posting it here. :)

Oops, that was a typo. >_< It was supposed to be 9 years ago not 6 that the wormholes were invented, I'll just go fix that now. But yeah, the rifts started appearing right after the earthquake, with it taking at most two or so months for the effects to be noticed, so at six years ago currently.
As for the Ultra beasts, I'd count them as Legendary. You could maybe get away with Poipole since it's not quite as stong as the others, but I'd say all the others are too powerful and counted alongside the Legendaries.

Is there a deadline for when we have to sign up by?
Nope! While I'm aiming to get this started tomorrow/thursday, sign ups will stay open through the whole of PXFIRE. :)

Name: Brent/Angel Hughes
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Team: Avalon Apostles
Description: Brent/Angel is a 5’9 male with auburn hair and brown eyes. Brent is a very kept individual, tending to wear a nice vest with a button up shirt and dress pants. He also sometimes wears a top hat if he’s feeling fancy. Angel, on the other hand, while very fancy, is less kept. One of the ways to tell who is fronting is how neat their hair is. If it has been brushed, then Brent is likely fronting. If not, it is likely Angel. Angel tends to wear the same dress pants as Brent (to save money), but has his own set of vests and shirts along with a series of neckties and cravats he likes to wear as well. Their mega stone is wore in a bracelet on their left wrist. Angel tends to not wear it but keeps it on his person just in case Brent needs it.
Personality: Brent is a gentlemanly personality with a stage charisma from his entertainer days. He’s calm during high tension situations for the most part and has great hand eye coordination. Angel is a kind soul, wanting to save everyone he can but also in as creative a method as possible. He likes to adventure and befriend people when he can. He’s also super protective of Brent and tends to front when Brent is frightened or becoming angry to calm him down.
Backstory: Born in the city of Sendrel to a Frances and Jack Hughes, Brent was only eleven when the first wormholes were made. His parents were scientists that worked on the project and continued to study it in Rustol. As a result, Brent was raised by his Uncle Karl Bohn with his cousin in Sendrel with frequent visits to Rustol. Brent found very quickly that he was skilled at two things: medical tasks and magic tricks. As a young teenager, Brent felt his path as a magician was what he was pursue. He practiced day and night, becoming quite the entertainer until that fateful day when he was thirteen. It was the explosion that shook the world.
Brent was watching the television when the news came on. He watched as explosions vaporized the whole city until the feed went dead. The next few weeks were a blur. People came by and said that it was likely his parents died instantly without experiencing any pain. Brent became greatly depressed for a time. He just wanted to retreat from the world. He began to experience black outs with vague recollections of events that occurred while he was out. At his uncle’s insistence, Brent began to see a psychiatrist and was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. As he began to work with his psychiatrist, they coaxed his other personality out, a man named Angel. The two began to bond, leaving each others notes in a journal to communicate as they worked with their psychiatrist to practice switching and communicating.
Brent decided following the tragedy involving his parents that he would pursue a career in the medical path. While he still practiced magic on the side, he was determined to help those in need to prevent further tragedies for those that did not have to experience them. Angel remained supportive as ever, pursuing more creative arts, learning calligraphy and cooking, serving at soup kitchens and other areas. The two became quite the dynamic duo in the Avalon Apostles and joined the new task force as soon as they could.
Starting Pokemon: (Anything except legendaries.) Zoroark (Chavdar) and Audino (Koyla)
Brent met Koyla in Sendrel. It was one of his days off and he was watching a show in the market when a rift tore open. What stepped through was a large green turtle-like beast that shook the ground with each step. It seemed to want to cause no harm until the guards started to attack it. The pokemon, startled, began to fight back, injuring many civilians in the process. Still a student at the time, Brent’s medical instincts kicked in as he began to treat as many people as he could, putting his schooling to use. As he worked, he noticed another creature tending to the wounded as well. At first he thought the pokemon was trying to finish them off, only to realize she was healing them instead. She seemed frightened of Brent when he approached, but when she saw that Brent was trying to help the civilians as she was, Koyla became trusting of Brent. Since then they have stuck together, having been partners for about three years now. She wears her mega stone as an earring but currently she and Brent have not been able to successfully mega evolve.
Chavdar, however, is a much different story. A recent acquisition to the team, Chavdar was known for causing trouble in Zenbar. Angel heard about the legendary “beast of illusions” and wanted to find this pokemon for himself. He set out to Zenbar and it wasn’t long before he started to see the effects that Chavdar was having on the town. It took weeks for Angel and Brent to track down Chavdar’s nest. The pokemon was extremely wary of them and unlike Koyla, he showed no signs of trusting Brent or Angel. After several visits to his nest, Chavdar eventually attacked the group, causing Koyla to lash out in protection and knock the blue ball out of Chavdar’s mane. In a scramble, Angel grabbed onto it and immediately they noticed a change in Chavdar’s demeanor. He appeared docile and loyal, or at least obedient. Chavdar was brought back to Sendrel for further observation and training. As far as they can tell at the moment, the blue orb is precious to Chavdar and his only motivation for not backstabbing the team yet. For now, it is in Angel’s possession, but he intends to return it after he has bonded a bit more with Chavdar.
Other: They have a journal that they carry that has doodles and notes and such. It looks like an insanity journal but really it’s the best method for the boys to communicate.

Name: Emmett “Gawain” Marshall.
Gender: Male.
Age: 35.
Team: Avalon Apostles.
Description: A man standing at 6’4” and skinny enough to be mistaken for a scarecrow, Emmett Marshall doesn’t look like the sort of guy who should be leading movements, be called “Gawain”, handling dangerous giant owls, or doing most of the things he does in general. His attire doesn’t help - he wears elegant but practical clothes in an array of pink and blue pastels. His ensemble also includes a white satchel embroidered with a red first-aid cross and a patch with the simple “AA” insignia of the Avalon Apostles sewn into it.
As for the man behind the pastels and the exaggerated frame, Emmett looks like a gentle soul. His dark-skinned, black-eyed face is clean shaven and his features are soft; his default expression seems to be one of mingled compassion and wistfulness. His long, curly, voluminous hair is perpetually tied back in a puffy ponytail. He bears a few scars on his arms from dealing with Pokemon, and a pretty impressive laceration scar along his abdomen.
Personality: Charismatic/Philosophical/Friendly/Gentle/Altruistic
Partly as a result of his community-centric upbringing, Emmett genuinely loves meeting new people and helping out others. He’s always learning; even if he disagrees with others, he loves to hear their opinions, and he doesn’t shy away from those who oppose or argue with him. Instead, he tries to be reasonable, using his considerable social skills to win their respect, if not win them over entirely. He doesn’t like to harm other creatures and his inclination is to inflict nonlethal damage - though he can be almost frighteningly ruthless when his friends or people under his protection are endangered. He presents himself as a knight in shining armor, and he sees it as his role to spread enlightenment and goodness and to protect the innocent.
Two-Faced/Cynical/Manipulative/Tired/Unforgiving
A bit of Emmett’s disposition is put-on, though. Beneath the saccharine sweetness lies a world-weary person who’s full of exhaustion, pessimism, and resentment. Working with the UFS embittered him greatly, as he watched humans tear each other apart to possess the power of Pokemon and watched Pokemon and humans kill each other for little to no reason. In order to achieve his ends of establishing peace between man and ‘mon, Emmett sees nothing wrong with wrapping others around his little finger. His desire to make the world a better place is genuine, but his pessimism puts this goal out of reach in his mind, creating a vicious cycle of discouragement. He has little mercy for those who stir up trouble, even if their reasons have legitimacy.
Backstory: The cold of Redinas is often said to only be matched by the warmth of its citizens. Emmett grew up in a kind home with caring parents and, after a few years, a shy but kindly younger sibling (Zeke Marshall figured out that they were agender before they turned thirteen). The Marshall household was often filled with neighbors in need, just as the Marshalls often relied on their neighbors for help right when they needed it most. When he was about fourteen, Emmett took up volunteer work as a clinic assistant for resume-padding and character-building. It was there that he discovered his passion for healing, and he quickly shifted his academic focus in the direction of becoming a doctor.
Unfortunately, his charmed life didn't last. Quinn Marshall, matriarch of the Marshall house, passed away suddenly, struck down by cancer. Wanting to ensure that his family had their best chance, Josiah Marshall moved his family to Maris, where they'd be closer to Josiah's family. While Emmett was a bit more subdued and untrusting - worried at the notion that people he loved could be suddenly torn away from him. He did his best to learn everything he could, working for his education, heart set on earning his status as a doctor of medicine. The wormhole invention was exciting for him - people were brought closer together; the phasing out of motor vehicles reduced air pollution and accidental injuries and death; he could go and visit his friends and family in Redinas whenever he wanted. He lost touch with Zeke a bit, but they still visited every now and again - always excited about the wormhole technology, which they went from an avid student of to working on themselves. Unfortunately, this contact ceased at the explosion at Erenitka.
Not long after the Pokemon began appearing, Emmett found his way onto a UFS team due to their higher pay and his curiosity about the Pokemon. One of his first missions was cut short by a group of Pokemon poachers rushing in to steal the great white owl that had come through the rift. In the chaos, most of the strike team was knocked out or killed; Emmett tried to pull the poachers away, but he took a knife and was knocked aside, near unconscious. When he woke up, a bloody-taloned owl was on his chest and the poachers were ripped apart - and the pain in his body was gone. Somehow, the bird had healed him as thanks for his attempts to save it, and it hovered alongside Emmett as he stabilized his compatriots and called for evacuation. Attempts to separate the owl from Emmett were met with screeched protests, at best; Emmett managed to convince his higher-ups to let him keep and bond with the creature known as Togekiss, reasoning that she already liked him and that this way he'd have a bodyguard and any squad he was with would have a backup healer.
That plan did not last. Emmett eventually decided that the brutality of the strike forces was too much - the brutality between humans and Pokemon was too much for him. He couldn't stop an evil so powerful or necessary, however, so instead he resolved to be the help that people needed. At first it was just him and Kayla healing people, with Emmett guiding others as best he could and espousing his political opinions where he went. Initially unintentionally, Emmett began to accumulate a following, a contact network that slowly but surely grew into a movement for peace. Emmett began to cultivate this; while he didn't assert himself as a great leader of men, he provided guidance for the other Apostles when they needed them, and started directing them in a more hands-on fashion. "Gawain" was a codename he was given due to his chivalrous nature, healing schtick, and knightly motif.
Starting Pokemon: Kayla/Togekiss/F/Serene Grace/Gentle Nature. Kayla is rarely seen except at Gawain's side. Towering over her Trainer, her sharp beak and talons make her an incredibly formidable sight. However, she's really quite kind, albeit a little bit restless and flighty. She and Gawain have a limited understanding of each other; she has minor telepathic and empathic abilities that help she and her Trainer share thoughts and feelings between them.
Other: Emmett hasn't heard from Zeke for six years. He's not sure, but he suspects they might be dead. He's still in contact with most of his remaining family members, though some of them are afraid of him now thanks to his status as a Pokemon trainer.

EDIT: I've meddled a bit and exaggerated Kayla's size somewhat. Is that okay? Togekiss is pretty big in the anime and it learns Fly, so I figure it should be big enough to carry a full-grown human.

Sure, that's fine. Totem pokemon have canonized size differences in pokemon, so Kayla can just be a bigger than average Togekiss.
Anyway, everything seems good here. Emmett/Gawain is accepted. :)

07-21-2018, 08:09 PM
Name: Eddie Shadolurk
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Team: Agents of the Shadows
Description: Eddie is fairly tall, standing at exactly six feet, and also a bit skinny, weighing about 145 pounds. He has pale skin, hazel colored eyes that changed color, and dark blonde hair that is about an inch from his shoulders. He usually wears darker colored clothes, usually black. He'll wear jeans no matter what the weather is, and usually a long sleeved shirt with an occasional hoodie if the weather is appropriate.
Eddie is pretty well educated. He did well in high school; however, he did not go to college. That being said, he was a straight A's student for the most part in high school, partially due to his dad pushing him a little too hard to succeed. His strength in school was in math and computer science. He usually keeps a small 7-inch tablet in his hoodie pocket, or if he is not wearing a hoodie, his back jeans pocket.
Eddie is exceptional at making detailed plans and being prepared for almost anything, especially now that the rifts are around and active. Sometimes he has a bit of trouble conveying his complex train of thought to others, and because of this he recruits a lot of people that seem to think similarly to him.
Personality: Eddie is very down-to-earth and honest. He is not afraid to tell you how he feels about you. However, when he does so, he doesn't show much emotion. If he hates you, his voice won't show it. If he likes you, his voice won't show it. When he does let out his emotions, he usually does so on his own, away from other people. Sometimes, when he talks to new people, they occasionally take his emotionless-ness negatively.
However, he will have fun when possible. From time to time, he'll crack a joke in his neutral voice, and most people will find it funny. Even though he seems pretty neutral, the other agents agree he is pretty fun to be around.
Backstory: Eddie was brought into this world from his parents, Jenn and Alex Shadolurk. He was extremely close to his mother, but he had an awful relationship with his father. The two had very little in common, and always frustrated each other. His mother was found missing when he was 9, and was confirmed dead three weeks later. Devastated and furious that it took two whole weeks to find his mother, he had zero trust and respect for the police after that point, out of emotion. His life goal was to start a group to do the police's job better than them.
He was 19 when the Pokemon-spawning rifts began to appear. Not long after the first few rifts appeared, he was attacked by a Poliwrath. It had crept up behind him, given him a few punches to knock him out, and started to carry him away. But then a vine wrapped itself around the Poliwrath's neck, and squeezed until the Poliwrath collapsed and could move no more. The owner of the vines, a Bulbasaur with a scar on its front left leg, seemed to want to stay in a group of two in order to survive. Eddie had no issues with this.
This incident inspired Eddie to start the "Agents of the Shadows". His first headquarters was in small cave by his home, and by observing the activity of people in Drusk he chose to recruit certain people in secret. As he got older and more Agents were recruited, he was able to rent a floor of a tall building in Drusk for the purposes of Agents of the Shadows.
Starting Pokemon: Bruce the Bulbasaur
Bruce, in many ways, acts similarly to Eddie. He is serious about his job fighting evil, but can still get along with other Pokemon pretty nicely. He does well at conveying the game plan to the other Pokemon owned by the Agents. He is also extremely loyal to Bruce, and wants him to be his life partner in the Agents of the Shadows.
Other: He follows video games very avidly. He does have a thing for Shrek games in particular for some reason, and has a PlayStation 2 loaded with a Shrek game disc in the Agents' lobby.

07-21-2018, 10:34 PM
Name: Leo Star
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Team: Order of the Sun
Description: Leo is kind of an average looking guy. Average height, with short, slightly messy black hair and a fairly normal build for a healthy male of age 23. As in, he's got a fair amount of strength but is no body builder. He also wears glasses, which are sort of rectangular in shape and have no bottom frame. He's practically blind without them, so he always keeps a backup pair on him. He also wears a simple silver ring on his right hand.
Personality: Leo is kind of a quiet guy, but is almost always smiling in some fashion or other. He's sort of a mixed up person who never really feels he's particularly skilled at anything other than menial, simple tasks. Still, he hates feeling useless and always tries his best, even if he's not sure he even knows what it is he's doing. Leo's also a very kind person, sometimes a little too much so. He'll tend to avoid other people because of his tendencies to always put others before himself, connecting better with pokemon.
Backstory: Leo was born and raised in the outskirts of Merius with his Brother Ezekiel (Zeke). Leo never knew what happened to his father, who was absent for the majority of his childhood years. For most of that time Leo and Zeke were inseparable, always together no matter what kind of trouble they got into. Their mother, who they loved dearly, died when the two of them turned 20 from a wild pokemon attack. The event, which took place during a yearly outing the family had always taken, broke the two brothers apart.
For Leo's part, he felt only great sadness and loss in his mother's death, but none of the desire for revenge or justice that Zeke was consumed of. The two parted ways and Leo traveled west through Anise, looking for a passion in which he could find a life following. After a year or two of traveling back and forth through the country, Leo discovered a small group of young pokemon, some ralts to be specific, who were hiding, hurt, from poachers nearby. On a whim Leo decided to help hide the pokemon, discovering while he misdirected the poachers that they were wearing government symbols on their uniforms. While he never inquired into what exactly they were doing, Leo believed the government was secretly collected these creatures for their own use. Angered, he decided to create a place, a secret place, where he could keep these targeted pokemon safe.
It was then -to Leo's very much surprise- that a gardivor appeared in front of him and revealed that such a place already existed, in fact he was right on the edge of it as it was. It turned out that the gardivor had been protecting a small valley near the conjunction of the Anise, Rutgard, and Ernitka Empires and protecting pokemon from encroaching poachers. The gardivor told Leo she'd been watching him protect the ralts, who had ventured too near the edge of the valley, and invited him to join her in protecting the valley. Working together, the human and pokemon would keep human parties away from the area so as to spread the beliefe that it was simple empty wild lands and that nothing interesting lay there. Certainly not a community of pokemon with so much diversity that it'd be easier to count what evo-line wasn't there. Not at all...
Starting Pokemon: Gardivor
Other: The only person who knows Leo protects a secret valley is his brother Zeke, whom works with Leo occasionally to bring pokemon to Leo for him to protect. Zeke doesn't know the actual location of the valley, which Leo has kept a very close secret, but Zeke has been very interested in its whereabouts.
Name: Ezekiel Star (Zeke)
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Team: Order of the Sun? Secretly, head of the poaching branch of Team Claw.
Description: Taller than Leo, Zeke gives off a much more impressive atmosphere. Physically, he gives off a confident, weathered look as though he's spends most of his days outdoors. Well fit and strong, Zeke's strength seems to show no matter what he wears. While normally he'll be found wearing some kind of outdoor hiking gear -something with a lot of pockets- even if he is wearing something like a suit for he gives off an impressive presence. Like Leo his hair is black, however Zeke prefers to keep it trimmed short in an army cut.
Personality: Zeke loves the feeling of power. He chases it, desires the ability to have strength over others. Surprisingly though, he doesn't always go to great lengths to ensure his power over others. Rather, he enjoys the knowledge that he can be stronger, especially over those who initially think him to be beneath him. Few things give him as great a satisfaction as knowing he's overcome something that was in his way. In relation to this, Zeke never feels like a challenge is too high, merely that he has yet to apply enough or the correct effort top the problem. Nothing will deter him from success, no matter how long it may take to succeed.
Backstory: The death of his and Leo's mother took Zeke down a very different path than his brother. The grief Zeke felt turned to rage, to hatred toward these wild beasts that attacked without reason. With a desire to take revenge for the needless deaths caused by these pokemon, Zeke split with his brother and traveled south. For a brief time, he looked into becoming a soldier, believing he'd be allowed to fight and maybe even kill pokemon at his pleasure. but it was not long before he realized that he'd be fighting alongside pokemon, rather than against them if he did so. But the knowledge still stuck in Zeke's head, spawning an idea.
Soon, Zeke took to raiding places pokemon were known to inhabit, stealing their young and wounding the adults. The captured pokemon he then sold to the highest bidder on the black market. His schemes of violent poaching went on for about a year before Zeke was finally caught while attempting to sell a young rhyhorn in Sunos. However, just as Zeke was prepared to accept being locked away, he got a mysterious offer from one of the police officers: to join a secret organization and use his skills as a poacher to supply them with powerful pokemon. Zeke accepted immediately. He'd long stopped caring how the pokemon were used after he'd sold them.
And so Zeke was introduced into the ranks of Team Scar. Not only that, but he soon made a name for himself and rose through the ranks of the cardinal North Branch, (poaching) By the time He'd been in the organization for a year, his poaching abilities were well renound and he'd established himself as cardinal of the northern division. It wasn't long after he'd taken up the cardinal position when he came back into contact with his older brother. He learned that Leo Had been protecting pokemon by bringing them to a secret valley. It would turn into Zeke's ultimate challenge. He knew with certainty that the valley would hold a vast treasure of pokemon ready to be enslaved for Claw's use, if only he could discover its location. Several times he attempted to discover the valley's location, but has so far been unable to learn the information from Leo or successfully follow him to its place of hiding. In the mean time, Zeke would occasionally bring one of the pokemon he'd poached to Leo, creating a false life of a person who stole pokemon from other poachers to free them.
Starting Pokemon: None specific, but he's very adept at forcing pokemon to do what he wants and will occasionally use a poached pokemon to do a task for him.
Other: Team Claw is set up like this: At the top there is the Boss, known among the organization as Central, who controls everything from the shadows. He and his elite troops have a base located on the border between Aluna and Ernitka, directly east of Zenbar. No one except the Four Cardinal Directions and the members of central know the actual identity of Claw's boss, and those who do do not speak of it, only calling him by his title.
Directly below the boss in Rank are the four Cardinal Directions, each representing one of the four branches of Claw:
Poaching - North (the capture and collection of powerful pokemon, supplying them to the other branches of Claw.)
Black Market Trade - East (Illegal trade in pokemon and Items. Occasionally people will buy poached pokemon straight from North, but to keep identities secret most all black trade goes through the East)
Undercover Operations - West (Warriors and specialists who do Spying, information collecting, assassinations, acts of terrorism, or staged acts of international aggression)
Gilded Faces - South (A collection of powerful, rich and influential people who use their power to create ideal circumstances for Claw through government and economics.
Each branch is run by a select member known as a "Cardinal Direction." Zeke is the Cardinal Direction "North" which is what he will be called by anyone in the organization. Each branch has its own headquarters in, you guess it, the general area of the cardinal direction. North is in Sunos, East in Zenbar, West in Erana, South in Trinox.
The over all goal of Claw is world domination. Their plan is to use and amplify the chaos created from the arrival of pokemon to bring about the destruction of the current order and allow them to take control as the new ruler of all things living.
Also, if anyone else Wants to get in on being a member of Team Claw, feel free to message me! I'd love to join other people in doing evil things!

Bulbasaur I mean, compared to other beginner RP'ers I've seen, you're doing pretty good.
It may be a good idea to read through other people's posts carefully for details of the area you're heading into with your characters.
For instance, in Shruikan's first RP post, their character got a message detailing destruction sited at the wormhole by Erana, implying people were already nearby or at the wormhole itself.
In my post, I revealed that one of the Team Claw branches had released a rampaging mamoswine to forcibly keep people away from the wormhole (something I based from the "large pokemon uprooting trees" that Shruikan heard about) while a poaching team captured rotoms that were reportedly coming through it.
In your latest post you implied your characters had made it there before anyone else and successfully captured an unknown (but clearly not rotom in nature based on its description coming through the wormhole) pokemon successfully. To be fair, it's not like that situation is implausible. You could, after all, have actually gotten there before anyone else and captured a pokemon even before Claw released the mamoswine. In which case there wouldn't be any conflict as to the true situation. But because the post came after other people's posts detailing the situation, it creates some confusion as to what's actually going on. Plus, your last post stated your character was in Trinox, which is in a whole different country, making getting to the wormhole in Erana first rather difficult, especially as there is no portal travel in Aluna and other organizations (which may have been stationed closer like Claw's West Branch) probably heard the news of the wormhole roughly the same time it would have gotten to you.
I probably shouldn't critique you though and leave that to Shruikan, as they are the judge after all. You're always welcome to shoot me a PM or VM if you have any questions though!

Totally no rush, just letting people know that I'll probably wait til Shruikan makes another reply to clarify what exactly has happened before replying again. Not sure what idea they had for how this big creature situation unfolds, so just going to let them decide what happens. (:
Also, question--what's the easiest way for you for us to gradually obtain Pokemon? I'd love some grass or poison types slowly trickle into Camellia's partnership (at a reasonable, spaced-out pace, in reasonable situations, etc. I love my Venu and don't urgently need to expand the team or be OP), but I didn't know if you wanted us to let you know what we want and then you decide when to give them to us, or something else. Whatever is easiest for you and what you have in mind!

Echoing this. Until either Shurikan or Vello reply, or someone directly interacts with me, I probably won't reply just so the situation can be a bit more established.
And yeah I'm curious about this too. Angel and Brent probably won't get anymore team members anytime soon given they already have two pokémon, but in case the situation arises.

I thought multiple Pokemon could appear from rifts? Was I incorrect?
No, you are correct. Any pokemon near where the rift opens on the pokemon's side could come through, though most of the time all the pokemon come through just as the rift first appears, since they tend to be wary around magic portals into another world. But as long as the rift is open, any number of pokemon can continue to emerge.

As long as you can reasonably make it work, you can add new pokemon to your team whenever you like. I mean, if there's a specific one you want you can menton it and I can try and work it into the story somehow, but if you can come up with a valid explination yourself then you can get new pokemon whenever you want. Or at least at a reasonable speed: a new one every post would be a bit exessive. :P

I'm not sure about that myself yet. It's either going to be joined scored with week 5, or have week 4 include monday as well, so there's at least one post from almost everyone. I'm leaning more towards merging the week 4&5 at the moment. I'm also not sure if either are allowed or not, so I might have to ask the higer ups first...

I feel kind of awkward about my characters. my ability to do things/interact is other people connected to my characters. Zeke is just watching his poaching team and Leo isn't near anyone, but his partner gardivor can teleport enough that they can end up nearby.

Eh, RPing word of advice:
Don't put yourself into a position where you have to wait on someone else to post, because if they don't, what happens to you, then? It's totally cool and fine to have a plan A, but have a plan B in case you need to break away and move along. Also, I don't think Shruikan minds if we do things to move the story along. This isn't the kind of thing where the RP creator is the tour guide and everyone just tags along.

Bulbasaur While it may seem like it's going pretty fast, only the people who mention you as an "Affected RP'er" will be directly interacting with your characters. If you're not sure what your character is doing, you can always check back to see who mentioned you or had some kind of "Anyone near the Erana Portal" note for who was affected. Re-read those posts and the last few to make sure you have an idea of what's going on around your person. While it is of course good to read everything, other posts will be less essential to you being able to respond with your character properly.
I can tell you right now your characters were walking away from the Erana portal carrying a crocodile-like pokemon (no one's identified the actual species so you can just say whatever you want really) from your post Here (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?18085-PXFIRE-PXFIRE-II-Roleplay-Convergence&p=280283&viewfull=1#post280283) when you were attacked by LKWayvern's characters from behind using an aerial Ace and a Sharp knee to the back at the end of This (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?18085-PXFIRE-PXFIRE-II-Roleplay-Convergence&p=280309&viewfull=1#post280309) post.
While other people have been doing things near the Erana portal, they aren't directly affecting you and would be occurring far enough away that you wouldn't need to worry about reacting to them.

Only just realized this, but Neo Emolga and Morzone :
Another question! How "sapient" are Pokemon? Does intelligence vary between species, or are they all sapient? If so, can they communicate with humans; if yes, how?
I'd say they're all equally sapient, at about the same level as Pikachu in the anime. They can kind of communicate with humans, but only with actions; Psychic pokemon and ones with auras like Lucario would be able to send thoughts with telepathy, but it would be more feelings than actual words, and otherwise it's more a game of charades to get across the point.
I think this causes a few issues with some of the scenarios you guys have set up--might be worth re-thinking your plotlines, or at least how much information your characters would know that they've previously learned from dialogue with Pokemon, as this dialogue wouldn't have happened, or at least would have happened much less clearly and with much more difficulty. Was from the first page, so was easy to miss (I missed the question about Pokeballs), but hopefully having caught it sooner than later will help!

Hmm... well that does make my last post kind of awkward, even if it is a conversation between pokemon and not pokemon and human. Gardevoir is a psychic type so they'd already be able to converse with humans -mainly just Leo- at a higher ability than other pokemon. And while Neo's character is a pokemon now, they still have the mind of a human so communication with other humans is understandable, especially as he did have to go through charades-like messaging until he got a chance to write.
Still I can't deny I've implied in my posts that Gardevoir and Leo have conversed more directly than just sharing feeling-thoughts. And Ninetales isn't actually a psychic type. Though what the ninetales did was based off of legends the surround the pokemon, mainly stemming from the PMD games. Whether or not the humans could actually understand the ninetales' threats in the PMD games is never really questioned though.
Well, I'll wait for Shruikan's input. hopefully they'll address it when the scores come out.

Yeah, to Morzone's point, I think both of us entered a kind of inner-level when it comes to Pokémon communication based on special circumstances. In this case it's Gardevoir communicating to other Pokémon, which would make sense. And on the other side, Nathan becoming a Pokémon himself as part of the Ninetales curse, thus learning how to communicate with other Pokémon now. Prior to this Nathan didn't understand anything Pokémon were saying because he was human and it was as Shruikan declared that cross-communication between humans and Pokémon could only be accomplished through body language.
And sure, Ninetales isn't formally a psychic type, though there's enough lore behind Ninetales that implies it wouldn't be too out of the ordinary for the one Nathan encountered to telepathically communicate with him, especially just after inadvertently triggering the 1,000 year Ninetales curse (as a kind of servitude bond).
So yeah, I don't think we're that far out in left field, but yeah, I think Shruikan's input on this would be good to rationalize out what to do and where we go from here.

Completely and totally aware of the Ninetales lore--not a part of the point at all, it wouldn't matter what Pokemon it was if it were a Psychic type or a pseudo lore one. I didn't even mention Ninetales in my post. I was pointing out that Shruikan has already expressly said that that in this canon, even Psychic types would still only be able to send feelings instead of actual words, and that level of sapience is the maximum communication ability from Pokemon to human. From what I understood of this post and the use of first-person responding to the presumably red words of a Ninetales, (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?18085-PXFIRE-PXFIRE-II-Roleplay-Convergence&p=280489&viewfull=1#post280489) you (Neo) were having your character directly communicate even before turning into a Ninetales. Yes, now you have entered that "inner level," and yes, you are now a sapient human being inside of a Psychic Pokemon's body and likely capable of that, but just pointing out that mistakes were made prior to that so that those mistakes don't happen again, because it's easy to do on accident, no big deal.
Like I said, missing the knowledge that they wouldn't be able to do this is fine, we're human, it happens and it's an easy thing to do. It's okay to make a mistake, let's just acknowledge mistakes were made and move on knowing better. Or, maybe we'll get lucky and Shruikan might shift the canon to accommodate. Totally up to them as the DM on what they want to do. Either way, it's all good and we're all up to speed.

Yeah, I realized I messed up, I was thinking along the lines of the anime and games with this regard, since I'd say that's what's used most of the time if it's not a PMD setting.
I'm going to try and correct this since it does create a lot of disconnects and it makes it difficult to keep going when there's a double standard with the RP canon and how Pokémon communicate. With that said, I'm going to revise what's in post #12 and then delete what's in post #14, #19, #26, and #28.
Nathan "Neo" Winterfield won't pull the tails of the Ninetales and thus, won't trigger a curse to become one himself. So consider everything that happened after that moment null and void and just pretend like it never happened. I think the only person this really affects is Morzone, but I think if he does the same, we can get around this.
Otherwise it's broken and just doesn't make sense, as you said.

Neo Emolga I don't think there'd need to be a complete wipe of all that, it shouldn't be too hard to adjust what happened so that Nathan doesn't actually hear any words. Just having the ninetales react unexpectedly, overly vicious to having the tale grabbed should be enough, given the proper re-wording. In your post in response to mine your NPC characters claimed they ran into a psychic that could control emotion, so it's not that hard for me to get rid of the "You're not welcome, go back" quote and just have gardevoir force fear upon them.
As for the actual transformation it may take a little work, but the ninetales could still transform Nathan and explain what happened after he'd been transformed (since they'd both be pokemon at that point) I myself need to go back to my first post and change the dialogue between gardevoir and Leo to feelings/emotions but that shouldn't bee that hard.

Definitely wait for Shruikan to chip in, I think--I'd hate for you to lose all of that hard work unnecessarily! ;__; Make a back-up plan, I think, but let's wait until Shruikan gives an opinion before we drastically change anything.
I guess that's true, I'll try to revise it instead. But yeah, I think both Morzone and I would need to do a little editing work to make it right, but like you both said, it's not impossible.
I'll let people know when the revisions have been made, but generally what happens after he become the Ninetales will be pretty much the same.
EDIT: Okay, I made a whole slew of revisions and it should be correct, but if something still looks off, just let me know and I'll fix it up. :3

Yeah, I'd noticed th inconsistency when re-reading the posts for the scoring. Honestly, I'd say it's not that big a deal, and most definitely not "delete the last 4 posts of storyline" worthy. I mean, yes, for consistency they wouldn't have been able to talk like that, but everything that was said could have easily been communicated through emotions & such. So you'd lose a few points in the continuity catagory, but wouldn't break the plot or anything, as long as you are aware going forwards.
I was planning working on the judging yesterday, but with my terrible planning skills I forgot the power was being shut off for the day. So I haven't had time to do it all today, (And with the edits might have to go through some of it again now anyway :/)

Shruikan, I would really like at least some feedback on my RPing so I know what to improve on for the remaining days of week 6.

OK, so this is week 4&5, as week four only had one day of activity. As such, the point have been merged, giving out 200 points total.

Ok, I did not see being transformed into a Ninetales coming, but it works pretty well. Your interactions with Morzone were good too, and your post themselves were well written. I noticed that while you edited out the telepathy parts, you left in Neo knowing about the 1000 years curse a couple of lines before he was informed about it, but otherwise everything check out fine.

For saying this is your first time RPing, you’ve done really well. A few things to note; You got to the rift rather quickly. Maybe next time elaborate more on how you got there so fast? Was it a secret wormhole set up for the Agents of Shadows, or by conventional vehicle? Also, maybe try to describe the locations more, it kinda felt like you were in a blank white void for your first post. Otherwise, overall you did good.

This post was a pretty good start. You gave enough exposition while still moving forwards, and you even got in the interaction with Bulbasaur’s character. The only problem is that it was your only post so far. And due to the nature of it’s interaction at the end, the lake of any follow up posts makes it harder for other players to continue as well.

You had a few continuity mistakes, such as the Mamoswine’s legs being caught up instead of it’s tusks, but otherwise you did well. Your posts are well written, I especially like how to describe the moves the pokemon use. All in all, keep up the good work.

I did notice your posts randomly swapped between past and present tense at times, and the child from your first post seemed to have two different names? But otherwise, you posts are great to read, and you’ve pretty much taken the forefront with handling the Mamoswine, so all in all good job.

What you have is well written so far, I liked how you managed to show the different personalities of Brent’s two pokemon, though I did notice Koyla’s name became Kophay midway through one post. You’ve also mostly stayed in the background, I’d like to see Brent contribute more directly, but otherwise, great job.

OK first of all, are you secretly psychic? Cause I actually planned the rampaging Mamoswine before you mentioned it. :P But yeah, overall you’ve done great so far. You’ve had a few spelling mistakes. Also, I’m pretty sure that Gardevoir is your real PC. Neither of your characters are anywhere near the action, but their influence still affecting the plot, especially the Gardevoir. Also, you’ve got like, four different characters now, yet you’re handling it really well. Overall, I’d like to see Leo get to do more, but I’m pretty sure that will be happening soon regardless. ;) Good job.

XD I kind of noticed my actual characters some how became proxies for other things pretty fast. To be honest it was just how I interpreted the natural logic of events. Based from my experience from my many years playing Pokemon, Admins of evil organizations generally let the grunts do the work, so I figured it'd make more sense to have Zeke giving orders from his office rather than out on the field for your typical rift. Plus I didn't really just want to throw my characters at the rift kind of like how I did with Gardevoir. It would end up kind of awkward with everyone all up in one place without many ways to branch out plot-wise. That and I figured if I'd just stuck him in the field immediately as the one capturing the Pokemon there wouldn't have any good reason to have made all that stuff up to create an evil organization. He could have just been your normal poacher and easily have entered into the same situation.
On the other side... well I wasn't entirely sure what to do with Leo at first. Since I was the only one from my team in the RP it didn't really feel like The order of the Sun existed as an organization, especially since it was never mentioned in Leo's backstory. It only implied that he'd found/created his own secret protected valley without the help of any other people. So I figured I could Leave Leo protecting the valley (which was in my mind fairly logical, you wouldn't leave such an important place completely unguarded, and since only Leo and Gardevoir were protecting it they'd have to split up to investigate the portal.) Gardevoir, being able to teleport, was the better choice for quick investigating the rift and I figured I could use the separation and have Gardevoir stir up enough trouble to bring back to Leo that he'd have plenty to do when I shifted over to him being the main focus.
Next post though it'll flip, don't worry! I got big plans for it.

I am SO ANGRY right now you would not believe. I just finished writing up my post which I put a lot of time into because I figured It'd be my last one and I wanted it to be good, and when I went to post it the stupid internet in this house resets itself -which I just now found it it'll do every morning- and kicked me off the rp thread to their "welcome page" Then once I finally got that sorted out PXR started acting stupid as well. Completely random links started sending me back to pokemoncrossraods.com instead of actually letting me go to the threads. And of course two of these broken links were the links for the first and last page of the RP.
So, in my own horrible idiocy I try several methods to get back into the thread to actually post which ended up including trying to copy past the link manually into a new tab (which still didn't work) so I gave up and decided to send my post -which I had copied in case something went wrong- to Neo or someone else who could possible post for me and I could still get my entry in. Except, of course, when I copied the url for the thread I overwrote my post on the ctrl-c and lost it all. Eventually I realized that somehow the link to page 3 of the rp worked while the others were still broken and managed to get access to the "restore auto-saved content" button, which, AS USUAL, only saved the first paragraph and a half. meaning that I had officially wasted the last several hours and lost everything just as I'd been about to enter it.
AND I STILL CAN"T GET INTO THE RP PROPERLY. So angry. Maybe if it fixes itself I'll do some rushed post or maybe I'll enter it in late just to show what it would have been >:/

Yeah, I tend to type all my RP posts in Word just in case such a thing happens (and it has). At least Word has the auto-recovery thing. Not to mention I like being able to see way more of the overall post than just a small little window on the forum.
Sorry to hear you lost all that work, though. That sucks. I've had that kind of thing happen to Photoshop stuff and you never fully get back what you lost, either. :(

:/ it really sucks. I mean, some of my previous posts were after last sunday so I still posted during this week grading period, but I just feel bad cause the next post was really important and I might as well have left people hanging. I can't even get on to page 4 to read the newest RP posts either, it still sends me to the pokemoncrossroads main page. Page 3 of the RP works, but I really have no idea what's going on.

That's weird. Have you tried clearing browsing history, cookies, cache, and maybe update your browser? Also, if that doesn't work, try another browser and see if that changes anything.

This is now a month late. I have no words to express how sorry I am that it took so long, I had the results written up on time, but was unable to post them until now. Anyway, if anyone still cares, here are the results for Week 6 of the RP.

Well, you definitely have the quantity down; Almost every second post this time was you.
Wasn’t much interaction with the other RPers, which was probably my fault. :/ But other that that everything was great.

Holey moley that’s a long post, it’s length equaled only by it’s awesomeness. I really liked the exposition/backstory/character development, it moved along the story, setting up more plot for later, (which sadly will never come. :( ) A few typos and the lack of interaction with other RPers are the only problems I can see, which unfortunately lost you a few points, but overall great job!
