Welcome everyone to the Graphic Art section of PXFIRE 2018! Hope you guys are ready for an enjoyable time just as I am! I'm sure you're all raring to get to showcasing some amazing artwork! Whether you consider yourself good at art or not, everyone is welcome to join in the fun here! This section is used to showcase creations through computer programs like: Photoshop, GIMP, or any computer programs to create artwork. Even Microsoft Paint counts here! You earn points for participation either way! Teamwork helps to make that dream work! But first, a couple of rules.

Rules!:

The piece MUST be created by you. Please no stealing others work.
Make something completely new. Do not reuse previous artwork.
Make sure you stick to "Graphic Artwork" submissions. As this is the Graphic Artwork event.
Stick to the PXR rules and don't make anything inappropriate.
Overall, just have FUN!

Now how will judging go? Well here's a quick guideline.

Judging::

Theme: Did you manage to stick to the theme given for the week? Yes? Good! Then you'll get yourself a good chunk of points added to your overall score. This one is worth (5 points)

Creativity: How creative was the design? Were there any special details put into these? The overall and technique used in this submission. This one can scale your score up by a whopping (10 points)!

Overall Look: If the setting and design matches how the theme should look and feel it'll help to push this overall score up more. This one is just a final guide to help push your score to it's maximum potential if you go for the gold here! You can get (10 Points) here for this.


Once you submit your creation. Feel free to describe the situation if you feel if can be confusing. Make it in 2-3 sentences if you can. Just nothing too lengthy.

And that's it! You do have to follow the weekly submission period (which will be listed below and each week's theme's will be listed below as well.

Week 4:

This week's theme (July 15-22) is Types!!

Create an image of your favorite Pokemon with this type! It can consist of one or multiple, but it must consist of ONLY that one particular type. If you choose Electric, all Pokemon in the image must contain Electric type Pokemon. This should be pretty simple if you use something you love the most! Use your favorite as inspiration!

Week 5:

This week's theme (July 22-29) is: A Simple Gift!!

No matter how a gift is. A gift is a gift! Create a Pokemon themed gift for someone. It can be an avatar, banner, or a creation of something on your own. As long as it follows the lines under the rules and Digital Artwork. You're good to go! It can be funny, cheery, or whatever creative jazz you can come up with! You can choose anyone on your team or another team. As long as it fits as a gift for them.

Thing is, I considered personally Graphic Art anything done "digitally." So even hand drawn works can be counted if it's done using one of these programs. Then again, not everyone else does. So if we all think I need to revise that, then by all mean I have no issues with that. However, if everyone is okay with that then we can go by that as well.

I count anything you can create. Avatar, banner, wallpaper, anything you can come up with that would be something interesting to go with the theme.

Bounced around a load of ideas for this but decided to go for a more of a header banner.
Went for ghost type as it is my favourite type and many of my favourite pokemon are this type.
The main pokemon here is meant to be Mega Gengar as I love it's design and it's shiny is one of the best in the game I think, but I thought it made sense to put the whole line in there. Here it is.

My inspiration was a t-shirt i saw that was a gengar that had a sort of splatter paint texture. I love the messiness of it.

Small update: POINT handouts will be revised as last week's turnout wouldn't be fair. Everyone would have to receive maximum point values. Once points are revise your scores will be posted up. ETA: by tomorrow evening.

Feedback: Nice choice in Pokemon for the theme! Even see an Alolan Pokemon in there. It fits the theme really well. The transitions work well with it to fit in even more. Layout makes it fit in just right too how they overlay just barely over another. I think the transition could have worked in a bit better as sometimes it makes it hard to see one and a bit distracting.

Feedback: Really a surprise! Was totally expecting an Emolga, but that's a good surprise! Dragons it is! The background is a nice choice and theme fits. The wind effect is really well done too. It really fits well for type and design. I do feel however, the background is a bit dark compared to the over layer. Could have been just a bit lighter.

Feedback: Green everything with some lime makes for a fine grass type image! A bit simplistic, but there's nothing ever wrong with that! Besides all of those there's not much to go off of. It's got a really nice look and fits the theme with a simplistic, yet oddly reminiscing look to it!

Feedback: Well an entry is better than no entry. So it gets you points as you said. So that's a plus in my book! :D Fire type? Check! Fits with the theme? Check check! The effects seem to overlay the Pokemon with the background. Though the colors work well with it. That Moltres looks bright *0* it goes from slightly dark to a bright shine on the right side. Unless there's a focus for that I think it needs to be more set around one overall look.

Feedback: Ghost types can really blend into the darkness so that makes it work really well! The dark purple overlay in the background that makes it look almost starry. It works really well! To get an inspiration from a t-shirt is really nice. Sometimes you never know where your inspiration can come from. That's the only thing. Finding the best way to showcase ghost Pokemon in the darkness.

This didn't turn out nearly as well as I wanted it to, but it's aight. Here's a gift for VeloJello. Ever since she described her PXFire RP character's Togekiss, Kayla, as a white owl, I've been stuck on it. So I did a fun little photomanipulation of huge owl as a Togekiss. Feather crest was hard but coloring naturally was harder. I really hate how this looks but I love Velo so it's all okay. <3

Week 6 theme is: Dream Team!

Once again we're focusing on a bit of your creative works. We've all been sucked into the World of Pokémon and ONLY Pokémon. We all decided to create teams in order to find out what has happened and why we were brought to the world and turned into Pokémon. Sound familiar? YUP! It's a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon theme. Pick 3-4 users here on PXR and make them a part of your new team. Showcse this 3-4 Mon team and created a name that fits the group. Be sure to like last week, tag these members in your image as well!

This can be done in one or three-four seperate images (for avatar purposes if desired).

This week's event ends August 5th, 5PM EDT (timer will be posted on first post in this thread asap)

Feedback: theme fits as it has one or more of user's favorite Pokemon. The background works really well for the images and layout. The way it looks is similar to to aurora borealis. It's not too bright and not too distracting from the images either! Nice job and it looks like a great gift for a friend!

Feedback: Oh man this one was really nice! It's very reminiscent of a Harry Potter like look to it with that Pokemon mix to it with the creative touches to it. Not all Pokemon are exactly what some may imagine. One may see a Pokemon in a totally different way than another and this is a really great depiction of that! Really well done!

Feedback: Deciding to go with 4 unique images makes it a bit more interesting. There's more to see. Each person/Pokemon involved have their own unique and special background (which aren't very distracting from the image itself. It only amplifies it). These were really well done, Noble!

Feedback: A simple trio with many faces! They're even split off into their own respective sections so it makes it better fitting for the image. Well thought out! It's a pretty great trio at that! Goes to show that you don't need any fancy animation to make it look awesome!

Feedback: While it was a late entry. I had to deduct a few points from the entry. Sorry :( the entry itself was a lot better than you think! While I can see some overlay from the rendered images. The background itself is not bad! The font even fits well for the Mystery Dungeonesque feel and look.

I kept hitting myself over the head for doing it personally. I didn't want to use 10. I wanted to do 5, but I kept running into issues with others where I felt I was taking too much away to reach the point limits. I'm sorry ;n;

I just eventually let out a big long sigh and remembered I really wasn't supposed to accept late entries in the first place. So to make up for my mistake I allowed them. I just wish I had had more points to offer through more entires so it wouldn't have come out looking so harsh.
