View Full Version : [RP] Brave New World: Rise of the Magi [Rated T]

DVB

In the universe, there are many forces. The two balancing forces that did a dance between the cosmos are the Holy Light and the Sacred Darkness. Over the billions of years, galaxies formed, worlds were created and eventually sentient beings formed. However, perhaps one of the greatest creations from the union was the birth of magic. Magic became a fundamental force on its own and worked to help advance life. To guide the universe through these times, the forces created avatars. The avatar of the Holy Light was Daema while the avatar of the Sacred Darkness was Sevuch. The two spread across the universe and helped life cultivate through the power of magic.

Life grew and eventually much of the cosmos lived in peace and harmony. However, not all was well. Unlike those of the ethereal plane, the mortals were susceptible to corruption. Order and Chaos did not always play well and the two would take on different forms and appearances to try and dominate the other. It wasn’t long before Daema and Sevuch stepped in. However, not even they remained untouched.

It was stated that despite their victory, nothing was ever the same for Daema and Sevuch. It was believed that Sevuch starting to become corrupt. That the Sacred Darkness was becoming corrupted. Over time, much of the universe became shrouded in the darkness that was losing its kindness. Eventually, the war between was inevitable. Worlds united under their different gods and fought. Worlds shattered, galaxies were destroyed and the amount of life lost was beyond measurement.

Eventually, the final attack led by them atomized everything. The strike caused by them was known by many names, but its current name was the Big Bang. The universe was reset and much of what previously existed was lost. Daema and Sevuch were too tired. Most of the magic spent was used to recreate the universe and were the only beings left.

It was then that Daema decided to leave the future to the hands of the mortals. She used Sevuch’s magic against him and by combining the light and the dark, she took the primordial elements and transformed them into superweapons. They were wielded by chosen warriors, people who survived because of their moral strength. Using it, they assisted in sealing Sevuch into a small body orbiting an infant planet, forever to slumber.

However, much of Sevuch’s darkness remained and so Daema spread her light and she sealed herself with the weapons inside the world to slumber while her spirit fused with the nearby star. This world was Earth, 4.6 billion years ago, the body was the Moon and the star was the Sun. The survivors settled on the planet and manage to survive despite its young state. However, it was revealed that Sevuch’s forces were not finished.

They came back and fought against many of the life forms there. These ancient civilizations were in ruin, but the people would not die. Eventually, the dark forces resorted to banishing many of the races. However, their children survived and bred with the one race immune to the banishment, humanity. Much of the structures were destroyed, but the temples survived and vanished, hiding away the secrets.

The survivors became god-like in the eyes of primitive man and taught skills and to make civilization, resulting in the 2nd age of civilization on Earth. Some of the more influenced civilizations were those of Ancient Egypt and Mesoamerican. These survivors spread their knowledge, but soon they died out and the secrets of the truth were hidden. The last survivor, the one known as the Prophet, was born of mysterious circumstances and attempted to spread the secrets, but the knowledge was distorted and after his death, it was the end of an age.
Despite the attempts to make the great secrets lost, they still survived and one was on the Catalyst. The awakening of the ancient weapons. Using humanity’s current calendar, in the transitioning to the Winter of two thousand and twelve revolutions after the death of the Prophet, the spirit of Daema will awaken the weapons. Much of humanity, those who carry the blood of the ancients will vanish, kept in a limbo until their ancestry is revealed, leaving few survivors. However, those who inherited the will of the warriors from long ago will be called upon. They will roam the world and free Daema, so she can finally finish her duty.

You are one of these six heroes.

You are one of the few who can still wield magic and be called the Magi. When the Trials to decide the fate of the world and the cosmos begin, you will find yourself alone with your fellow heroes. But fear not. Spirits long dormant will awaken and guide you through your quest.

However, young heroes, be wary. History is written by the winners and not all is clear as you commence your journeys.

This is a brave new world.

Diego Vendrix awoke from his slumber. He seemed to have taken a nap. The Christmas party was in full swing. He shook his head as he got up from the sofa and was careful not to disturb any of the people ended up falling asleep, either from actually being tired or passed out from drinking too much eggnog, cider or coffee drinks mixed with cream liqueur.

He looked at the grandfather clock near him. It was about three minutes until midnight. Diego looked at the clock and realized what day it was. It was the Winter Solstice. He looked outside. The sky was unusually beautiful. It was supposed to be on this day that the 13th boktun would end. The supposed end of the world. While Diego was a spiritual person, he didn't believe anything large would happen. That didn't mean he didn't want something to happen. Diego felt he was in a rut and he felt that a change would be nice.

A change is what many would get.

"I'm heading out daddy! I need to see the stars now or else it'll be too late!" called what looked like a young boy to his father, who was busy on the couch, talking to his thrid girlfriend, a beer in one hand.

"Alright Halt *hiccup* just be back...before...beddy time" the man slurred back, before returning to his girlfriend, who was also throughly drunk. The boy put his hands into the sleaves of his black sweatshirt, and start scratching at the large scabs that had formed from his last times scratching himself. They traveled the length of his arms, though the deeper scars were at the thicker parts of the arm right before the elbow. He shivered at the pain, and pulled the hood lower over his face and eyes. A soft mewing sound echoed from the small bulge at the chest area of his shirt, but Halt merely shhshed it quietly.

"Black Star, shhh. Please." he begged the kitten, and she seemed to quiet down. Only a little bit though, she hated silence. Halt knew he had to ask fast at that point. He ducked out the silder door, and ran into the nearby woods. His sweatshirt's back design was the only part of his outfit that could be seen well in the dark night, a bright white star in the center of his shoulder blades. The same star was on the back of his black fingerless gloves, but those he left behind in case he got them dirty on the rock wall. His black short fluttered a bit in the wind, riding up a bit on his pale legs, but that he ignoreid, no one ever came out during winter in Alaska, let alone at night. His black shoes left a small star stamp in the ground as he ran, from a design in the insole, and these also were white with blue stripes. His shirt was hidden, thankfully, under his sweat shirt.

Halt smiled when he neared the rock wall. A large twenty foot tall wall of grey and pebbles loamed omniously. He sclae dit in a matter of minutes. Heaving himself onto the top, Halt sighed and smiled at the tiny area he prepared earlier. A small blanket, his secret pillow of BRS, and a tiny cat bed for Black Star the black panther kitten. Halt slowly unzipped his sweatshirt, and layed it out to lay on, while also placing the kitten in her bed. She curled up, and watched her master lay on the blanket and his sweatshirt, letting the frigid air pass over his small frame. The stars were all out and shining bright, each delated to see the other, and spread the messages. "So beautiful...it's like their final show..." he said softly, remembering the rumors of the day.

Arial gave a small sigh, finishing a stroke on her painting of the planets aligning. Her roommate Becky was at the "End of the World" Party in the largest Fraternity House on campus. Arial, who couldn't stand the smell of alcohol, stayed in her dorm doing what she loves most; painting. She had been working on this painting for quite sometime, listening to the sound of peaceful silence for once. With her party hard roommate that was hard to find.
"End of the world, pff, please." she mumbled with a scowl as she sat back in her pjs, looking over her work. "Well, I don't believe in it, but it leads to great inspiration." she mused, looking over the unfinished painting. She then glanced at the clock. Two minutes till midnight. Part of her then began to get curious. What if something did happen? What if the world did end? She idly scratched her head before adjusting her glasses and giving a small huff.
"Well, if I'm going down, I'm going down painting." she said before picking her brush again and adding a few more strokes.

"You know, Rupert?" Eli addressed the stuffed parrot resting in the passenger seat of his truck. "You're a good friend. Most people would've asked for a hit, but you know how much I love this stuff." Eli took a deep huff of his self-rolled cigarette and blew out. "Once we get these nam fangled lawn gnomes back to Fortress Alpha we'll have hit this year's quota!" He ajusted the mirror, and noticed something troubling. "Wait a dang ol' minute..."

Eli opened up the door, smoke pouring out as he stepped out into the comparatively fresh air of the parking garage. Quickly circling around to the back of his truck he checked the bed, empty. "Gone!" Eli yelled into the night, "my wee men, gone!" He slammed his hand down on the truck. "The draculas, turned into mist and stole my wee men in the dead of night, but I'll show them!" With a heart of rage Eli jumped back into his truck and started it up with a stutter. "They'll regret the day they messed with Eli Henderson! I practically bathe in garlic, one whiff and they'll all melt!"

As the rebel pulled out of the parking garage he blasted Fortune Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival. He didn't worry about the cops coming to get him, almost 24/7 they were busy with some local gang.

11:58pm Dec 21st, 2012 (please tell me we won't have to time stamp every post in this RP)

What time was it? It was dark and late and that was good enough for one Bethany McNuggie. A better question was where was she? Her eyes were half opened as she looked around the room in a haze. Is this Claire's house? Ah, f*%# it. She'd find out in the morning.

It had been a crazy day for Beth. Most Fridays were. Show up to school late, piss away time until the bell rang, and then see who wanted to get wasted and fight! Didn't usually get a lot of takers on the later part, but with her fake ID most people took her up on that first offer. Just a drive one county over and sweet cider and whiskey were theirs. The only thing better was if someone brought a dime bag. Scratch that, the only thing better was if someone actually took her on in a fight like she wanted in the first place.

Beth clenched her fist at that thought. She was always itching for a good brawl and being passed out drunk before midnight certainly didn't quell that burning desire. Haphazardly she shifted her weight to her left elbow as she propped herself up, only to come tumbling down a two foot drop the moment her elbow slipped. "Urggggggn..." she groaned in discomfort at the discovery of a hardwood floor. Uneasily she rose to her feet, finding the sofa she'd been sleeping on before to help her steady herself. Blindly she bumbled around the foreign living room, almost tripping on someone but once she'd steadied herself she gave him a kick. That'll learn him to crash on the floor. There were voices in the other room where the party had probably moved to after too many people passed out, but that wasn't her main concern right now. No, right now what Beth needed more than anything was a bathroom.

She paused for a moment as she passed the DVD player on the shelf, its digital readout displayed 11:58pm clearly with a haunting green glow. This didn't mean a thing to her of course and she continued to bumble her way through the dark looking for that elusive bathroom.

Chris opened his eyes, startled by a loud noise. He looked around to try and find the source of the noise, but it was too dark. He reached his hand over to the lamp on the table beside his bed. He turned it on, his eyes hurting from the sudden light. He looked at the cable box next to his TV to see the time 11:49. With the lights on, it only took him a second to locate the source of the sound. Somehow the poster he had hanging on the other side of his room fell down. He stood up, annoyed. He walked over to the poster to make sure the frame had not broken. As he inspected it, he saw that a large crack had formed in the glass.

"Great, just great. At least it didn't shatter though." Chris thought. Feeling thirsty, he opened the door to his room and walked downstairs. He opened his refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of water. He drank half the bottle, and took the other half back up with him to his room. He briefly glanced over towards the fallen poster before deciding to deal with it in the morning. He walked back over to his bed and sat down.

"11:59" Chris thought, looking at the clock.

December 21, 2012 11:59 PM --> 12:00

Diego had been spending the last few minutes getting his stuff and simply relaxing. He was enjoying a sip of some deliciously good hot chocolate. He felt pretty at peace. Nothing could seem to break him out of this momentary lapse of meditation.

"Hey, its' midnight!"

Diego looked at the clock and surprise.

It was midnight. And nothing happened. Everyone began to chatter, but things went quiet as the chimes were sounding.

1st chime... there was a sudden chill wind, nothing to worry.

2nd chime... Diego along with the others and many other people felt goosebumps.

3rd chime... the animals began to howl and react violently

4th chime.... every mystic and spiritualist awoke...

5th chime... there was a minor tremor in several areas, merely shaking them a bit

6th chime... there was a larger tremor... but not very dangerous...

7th chime... the northern and southern lights appears in vastly different colors all around the world...

8th chime... the magnetosphere began reacting and fissures began appearing all around...

9th chime... Ancient ruins began to reactivate as they emitted strange energies not seen...

Everyone was starting to panic by now as some were praying, some were preparing to exit and others calling their loved ones. One pointed outside to the sky...!

10th chime... The night sky shimmered as lines appeared over it... lines made of light... and glowing cracks were there. The most massive ones were above holy sites and where the chosen ones were. The chosen saw the cracks near them had a specific color.

11th chime, the ground began to shake violently and everyone held on to one another as the cracks grew much larger and massively complex magic circles appeared under the cracks also. Strange colored light began flooding in as the tremors grew. There were several rays of light all around. They came from the fissures. They came from the cracks.

Diego saw there was a ray of blue light that showered on him. He looked and saw mostly white light along with a red, orange, yellow, green and purple light also.

12th chime... the lights grew brighter and things were at the apex of hysteria and panic. Cracks appeared in the air itself. Some were just there in air or through objects or whatever. Once more, many other people, but not all got cracks with light also.

"EVERYONE HANG ON!!!"

There was a brief moment of silence.

Then... everything shattered as the ancient seal was released...

Gravity... Electromagnetism... The Nuclear Strong... THe Nuclear Weak...

and now...

Magic...

Everything shattered as everything turned white except the chosens, who turned their color...

Before Diego lost conscious... he saw something appear nearby... it was a glint of sapphire...

Less than a mile away...

beckoning him...

and then, all went blank.

Eli's beat up truck raced down the streets, waving from side to side every now and then due to its driver's metal state. "Oh wait until those wee fanglers get a taste of ME, Rupert," Eli said to his stuffed parrot. "When my boot goes up there- SWEET JEEBUS WHAT!" Eli saw it, the cracks in the sky. Green cracks in the sky. "Dang ol' flag it did Billy Jim lace my Jane again?" Eli thought, "Bah I'll thank him late- OH FERG A TREE!"

Eli slammed on the breaks. A tree blocked the street. Leaving his truck, Eli went to go investigate. "Well, how will I deal with thi- WHOA!" Beneath his feet the earth started to shake. "An earthquake in Michigan, whatter the odds!" It started to calm down, and Eli tapped his foot to the earth's rhythm. "Ye, dats my jam, now this tree." "12:00," Chris thought as he looked at the clock again, "Isn't something supposed to be happening right about now?" He laid down on his bed and closed his eyes.

"What was that? It must have been church bells or something." Chris thought as he heard a chime in the distance.

"Is it getting cold in here? Maybe i should have turned the heat up."

"Wait, whats that sound? I guess the neighbors dogs are going crazy again. And how long are those bells going to continue?"

"Wait... Is the ground shaking? No, i'm just tired, I need to get some sleep."

"No, the ground really is shaking!" Chris jumped up, looking around.

"What are those lights?" Chris thought as he looked over at his window. He stood up and ran to it.

"What is going on? And what is that chime i keep hearing?" Chris thought, slightly nervous, as he looked at the fissures opening in the ground. Chris noticed a large red pattern begin to form in the sky above him. Red light began to flow down from the skies onto him. He jumped out of the way as he saw cracks begin to spread through the air towards him. All of the pictures hanging on the walls began to fall from the shaking.

Everything began to glow white.

Everything but a small red spark in the distance...

And then Chris passed out.

Halt Gao
Bearer of the Amber Hammer
Alaskan Wilderness
Midnight of the Final Day

Halt sighed as he watched the lights in the sky twinkle in and out with the passing of the clouds and movements of their light paths. He smiled happily, and began to hum to himself. It was a song he once wrote as a younger boy, living back on the East Coast with his friends. It was about the jaded serpent, writhing and flying through the sky, wurming its way through the skies above all of the turmoil of the world. Heaven was it's playground, it was his favorite home away from home. Halt sighed again, and grinned to Star, sleeping peacefully in hr little cat bed. He shifts his shorts down a little more on his frail legs, and shivered. He pulled up his blankie, and hudleded into his sweatshirt. Almost time for that fated hour...

1st chime... there was a sudden chill wind, nothing to worry.

2nd chime...Halt began to goosebump

3rd chime... the animals began to howl and react violently, Star snarling and trying to bite and tear about her bed.

4th chime.... every mystic and spiritualist awoke...

5th chime... there was a slight tremor that show the place...

6th chime... there was a larger tremor... but not very dangerous...

7th chime... the northern and southern lights appears in vastly different colors all around the world. Halt looked in shock and terror at the amount and vibrance of them right above his head.

8th chime... the magnetosphere began reacting and fissures began appearing all around...

9th chime... Ancient ruins began to reactivate as they emitted strange energies not seen...

Halt looked around, getting scared and increasing shaky. He grabbed Star into his arms, and bolted upright, looking for a way to get down from their comfortable high location. He started to run a little, but tripped, curling around Star to keep her safe in his arms.

Halt saw there was a ray of orange light that showered on him. He looked and saw mostly white light along with a red, blue, yellow, green and purple light also.

12th chime... the lights grew brighter and things were at the apex of hysteria and panic. Cracks appeared in the air itself. Some were just there in air or through objects or whatever. Once more, many other people, but not all got cracks with light also.

Halt wanted to scream in terror, but held Star, and kept silent. The world was ending around them, and all Halt could think about was a single face, and three words on his lips. He was about to say it, to the world, and on the verge of drifting off into darkness and black vision, when he saw a flash of orange, from within the mountain, and a single golden handle in the rock.

Arial Farrison
Wielder of the Amethyst Air Bow
Dorm Room - Oxford University
12:00 am, December 22nd, 2012

Arial finished her final stroke on the painting when her small clock dinged. She barley reacted, merely glancing to it.

Midnight.

She decided to sit back, almost holding her breath as she did something she thought she would never do... She waited for "the end of the world".
Yes she didn't believe in such a thing, but she really had nothing better to do this new years so she decided to humor the universe for a moment. But as she predicted... Nothing happened. She almost gave a disappointed sigh, but no big deal.

She stood and turned to get her sketchbook before the campus clock chimed. But something was off... The campus only had one chiming clock, and this chimed echoed, as if there were many. She stood, confused as she walked to the window. This eerie chill filled the air... She opened her window, peeking her head out to search for the sound.

Second chime... Goosebumps began to rise on her skin, her body overcome with that eerie feeling. Something was definitely off.

The third chime came and watch seemed to be a quiet night became one filled with screams of animals in the nearby woods, as well as the few hidden pets in the dorm. She turned toward the door as she heard the owners call for their pets to quiet, but to no avail. What was going on? Just all of a sudden, they were going crazy! The cats, dogs, birds, every animal wasn't just making noise, they were wailing in absolute terror.

On the forth chime she peeked out her door, seeing many other students doing the same. "Do you hear that?" one of them asked above the cries of the animals as they looked at her. "I think the entire country side hears it. What is going on?" She questioned, and the other simply shrugged.

On the fifth chime she then stepped out, but stopped as she felt a small shake in the ground. She looked to the student that talked to her, both of them with a similar expression; eyebrows knitted in confusion with slightly pursed lips.

She was about to ask if the other felt that, but was cut off as the sixth chime came and a larger tremor followed. "Earthquake!" the other called before darting back in their room. Arial did the same while she was steady on her feet and huddled under her desk, placing her hands over her head like she had done many times in a drill. Only this time... It was really happening.

Seventh chime, and a light caused Arial to open her mauve eyes that were clouded with fear. She looked to see many colors shining through her window. Was... Was that aurora borealis? But... She's no where near them! How could they...?

Eighth chime, the tremors worsened as she heard the sound of horrible cracking along with what sounded like trees falling. She would shut her eyes again, but for some reason she couldn't tears her gaze away from the strange light.

Ninth chime, the light intensified and she silently begged for this to be over. All of it, and for everything to be normal. She... She didn't want to die. There was so much she wanted to do! So much potential, so much life left... It couldn't end here!

Tenth chime, the light grew even brighter until it suddenly turned to a shade of... Amethyst. What..?

Eleventh chime. The entire building shook, things were falling and crashing in her room, she shut her eyes finally, dipping her head low and trying to block out all the chaos. God why... Why...!?

Final chime... There was sound of rushing air, as if the air itself was breaking, and then... Silence. Arial then ifted her head, eyes peering open. She had just a moment to see her room.

Then the earth shattered.

Everything around her cracked and broke as she felt such an energy release. In a surprised panic she jumped to her feet, and there she stood in nothingness... She looked around, her eyes catching on herself. All of her was... Amethyst? She was Amethyst in this white world. Where was she...? She looked around, eye ctaching a small gleaming amethyst light not far from her. Hope sparked in her heart as she stepped toward it. Yet all of a sudden she was hit with a wave of pressure. It was concentrating to her head, making her entire body heavy. The nothingness spun, and as she stumbled she reached for that light before blacking out...

Crazy thing about DVD player clocks is they don't chime. Heck it didn't even beep at the still air once midnight finally did roll around. Instead Beth continued to fumble about in the darkness oblivious to the happenings of the end of times. She had wrapped up her business with the bathroom and was now trying to find her way back to the couch to lay down for a couple of minutes more when a sudden wrenching in her gut made her empty its contents on the carpet. It left an awful taste in her mouth but man she felt better!

Slowly she turned to make her way back to the bathroom to get a sip of water, just something to wash that taste out of her mouth, but she hesitated. Something felt off. She couldn't quite put her finger on it but she was certain that something was wrong. Well, more wrong than completely ignoring your own vomit on someone else's floor for them to find it in the morning. Carefully taking a step forward proved more challenging as she could have expected, her food felt like it sank into the carpet ahead as if the ground were dissolving below it. A coyote howl caught her attention briefly before she saw something. Faintly in the dark a yellow light flickered. It danced like a haywire spark before erupting into a maze of shapes expanding outward along cracks and grooves that tore through the floor. All at once the floor gave away under Beth's feet and then-

All was dark again.

The sound of water... dripping... dropping...

The calming motion of the sea... the flow of rivers...

Diego stirred as his eyes slowly opened. He sat up and looked around. He was alone... literally. Despite the seismic activity and the cosmic events, the buildings remained the same. The lights were busted, but there was still a little power. He looked around. Everyone was gone... literally. They vanished. Diego got up and went outside. He checked his watch.

It was New Years Day at 6:00 AM. Diego attempted to use his cellphone, but it was dead... out of juice. Diego sighed and shivered as tears ran down his face. He was scared. However, he bit his lip and wiped the tears. Despite the truama, he realized he needed to move. Diego looked around as he slowly walked around the city. It was barely dawn, the sun wouldn't rise for a couple of hours. Despite this, he looked up and saw stars.

He saw them as you could see them in the sky without light pollution or anything. He gazed at them in wonder and awe. He then remembered the faint blue light. Something called for him. He began walking to a park nearby. Something stood, stuck on the remains of a fountain that still flowed. It was a weapon.

It was a staff. It was a quarterstaff to be exact. It appeared to be made out of a dark, smooth and strange-looking metal. However, what stood out were the two large ferrules of sapphire. The staff also had mystical looking symbols and a handle also made of sapphire. Diego climbed the fountain and pulled the staff.

When it came out, all went white for a moment.

Except for the others. He saw the others for a moment.

A wielder with a Scottish claymore adorned with garnets...

A wielder of a large dual-headed warhammer, resembling a gavel and colored of orange amber...

A wielder of a large jousting lance adorned with topaz...

A wielder of a double-edged axe with emeralds...

A wiellder of a strong English bow decorated with amethyst

Diego shook his head as the vision faded. He tested the staff. It felt... natural for him to use it. However, this was cut short as something moaned. Diego turned around and faced... a monster or a ghost of some sort.

It was humanoid, but it was like a living shadow. Translucent and gray, it was still solid based on how it removed a rock out of the way. It lunged at Diego, which Diego repelled it by swing his staff and some of the water hit the enemy.

Diego was amazed, but his fear won out and proceeded to fight the being.

The void is filled with the trace amounts of magic and dust. Malignant Echos occur when the being is composed mainly of fear, anger and negative emotions, resulting in a shadowy echo of a person held by remains of the surrounding area and magic.

Eli Henderson
Owner of the Emerald Wood Axe
Ruins of Stilwater, US
Janurary 1, 2013- 8:00 AM

The rustling of leaves, the smell of naturally grow grass.

In his half conscious state Eli started to rub his figures together, but as he came to he was disappointed by the lack of paper between his fingers. "What in the name of 'nam happened last night?" Eli said as he pushed himself off the ground. First thing he noticed was that he was in the road. Second thing was that despite being in the middle of the road, nobody was honking at him.

Leaning against the fallen tree, Eli pulled himself up to see the city of Stilwater. No moving cars, no pedestrians, not even any gang members making their claims on the city. In his groggy state Eli looked at the tree and yelled, "You did this you bramble mucking twigmast!" He walked to his car, "Wait till I sick Rupert on ya!" But when Eli reached his truck, there was no stuffed parrot inside. "It got Rupert! Oh wally wally the tree got Rupert!" Shaking his fist Eli marched at the tree, "I'll keel ya myself ya waste of planks, I just needah-"

And that's then he saw it. Already stuck in the tree was an axe, one which was encrusted with emeralds and was double edged like one used for battle. "That'll work!" he exclaimed. With gusto Eli approached the axe and pulled it right out of the tree.

Then began to trip. He saw the silhouettes of others with weapons, every weapon like his, encrusted with a type of gem stone. But he snapped himself out of that mess quickly, he had a tree to destroy. Eli lifted his axe, too consumed with his desire to destroy the tree to notice the magic now flowing through him, and brought the axe down on the wood with the force of an angry god. "Take that ya tree!" Eli yelled, "shows you to steal my bird!"

From the cracks in the wood something started to seep out. Such a blatant show of supernatural power shocked Eli out of his tree hate. "What in the name?" Eli yelled, "is you the spirit of the tree?" The Malignant Echo moaned at Eli, and lashed out. Eli jumped back and brought his axe to bare, "Ah, a feisty one are yee? Geet ready to geet wrecked tree god!" Having gotten into many fights in his life, Eli was confident that he could trounce a mere tree spirit.

OOC: I know it's not really a tree spirit, that's just what Eli thinks. He's had many troubles with trees in his life...

Arial Farrison
Owner of the Amethyst Air Bow
Ruins of Oxford University, UK
January 1, 2013- 7:00 AM

The sound of a calming breeze... The feeling of air hugging the skin... The smell of a fresh wind...

Arial slowly opened her eyes, the brown color of wood all she saw. She then immediately jumped up, hitting her head quite hard on the desk she seemed to still be under. "OW! Bloody little... What the...?" she said after a few rubs to the head. She adjusted her glasses and looked around to see she was still in her dorm room. Everything had fallen off the walls and shelves, which included her painting. She crawled out and walked to it before she gently picked it up from the floor and gave a small gasp at what she saw. It wasn't what she painted. It was some painting of what seemed silhouettes of six teens. They each looked like they were wielding weapons with jewels in them. One silhouette kinda resembled her and had what seemed to be an English Longbow with amethysts all over it. She stared with a confused expression before lying it aside and looking out the window. The world looked amess with cracks in the ground and fallen trees. It was eerily silent. Nothing, not even animals made a sound. "Becky!" She called out. Nothing. "Becky! Someone? Anyone!" Silence.

Then, her eyes caught a gleam of something. It was some sort of object with that Amethyst glow she saw before. It was leaning against the tree in the central square not far from her. She felt a pull, a yearning in her heart to go get it. She turned around, but stopped herself from darting out when she realized she was still in her nightgown. She quickly went to her closet and changed into her usual outfit. Surprisingly her clothes were untouched. She put on her long sleeve sky blue shirt and long flowing white skirt, along with her white socks and black dress shoes. She walked to her desk she was under earlier, even more surprised to see her jewelry and hair clips untouched. She clipped her bangs to the left as usual and put on her favorite amethyst necklace. Hey, if she ended up dying, at least she would die looking decent. After that she went out and down the stairs, as she noticed earlier her light wasn't on, nor was any light for that matter. She hurried out to the central square, panting a bit from her run. After a small rest she looked at the object. It was an English Longbow, decorated in real Amethyst jewels. It was gorgeous... She gently picked it up, feeling the real wood and jems.

But suddenly... All went white. She gave a small startled gasp and quickly looked around. She saw... Silhouettes. Silhouettes wielding weapons just like the strange picture! Her eyes looked to them all. A wielder of a Scottish Claymore adorned with garnets... A wielder of a large dual-headed warhammer, resembling a gavel and colored of orange amber... A wielder of a large jousting lance adorned with topaz... And a wielder of a double-edged axe adorned with emerald... She then looked down to her strong English Longbow that was adorned with Amethyst... Then suddenly everything disappeared and she was back at the square. She could hardly believe any of this. She had to be dreaming. Yet here she was, standing in a wrecked abandoned world with a strange weapon in her hands.

She heard a growl. It was low a rumbling behind her. She swiftly turned, eyes darting to land upon this misty grey figure. She froze, staring at it with wide eyes. It slowly advanced and she jumped back. Damn, what now!? This stupid bow had no arrows! "Stay back!" she yelled, but to no effect. It suddenly lunged and Arial took in a sharp breath. Then, it was if instinct took over. She reached behind her back like she was pulling a bow out of a holster. She felt a rush of energy going through her body so fast and then straight out of her palm. Wind whipped up fast and formed an arrow of air in her hand. She drew it back in the bow, to which the jems on the bow began to glow. She released and the arrow grazed the figures shoulder. It let out a cry and Arial stared wide eyed at her bow, which had ceased glowing, and then to her hand. "What in George's bloomers?" she said to herself.

No time to ponder what just happened. The creature was coming at her again! It's fight or die now!

Bethany McNuggie
Topaz Thunder Lance
Ruins of a dark room, Lynchburg Tennessee
7am Jan 1st, 2013

A faint trickle of light was enough to wake Beth from her deep sleep. She groaned and lied there unmoving for quite some time. Finally with a grunt of effort she sat up and looked at the room she was in. What a dumpy party. Like, seriously. It looked like everyone had cleared out of there already which was fine by her, Beth felt like if someone said so much as a word to her she'd break their nose. The pizza had been cleared off the table, there was a dried splotch of vomit (ugh, some people), and there was this gaping hole in the roof letting in all the sunlight. Wait, what? The girl might not be the most observant but even she could tell something was amiss with the suddenly redesigned ceiling structure.

"What the ffffffffff--" she trailed off as she inspected it. When did this happen? Where was everybody? What had she just slept through? She stood there barefoot on the carpet for a moment all the while rubbing her nose distractedly. The lightning! It must've blasted a hole in the roof so awesome that everyone was still outside staring at it. And they'd brought the pizza! It was sound logic considering the circle of friends she had decided to hang out with tonight. Forgetting her shoes for the moment Beth headed outside barefoot eager to see this spectacle from the other side. Swinging the backdoor open she was disappointed to find nobody. Not a single person. The disappointment was short lived though because something even better caught her eye in the distance.

A about fifty yards out lay in smoldering ruins, no doubt it was on the receiving end of some seriously wicked storm based light show that Beth would have killed to see. "Ha-ha-holy crap!" the redhead chuckled as she approached the charred remains. But there was something else going on here. The closer she got to the tree the more she started to see something had been forced down into it. It was in there pretty good too by the looks of it. Whatever it was it was it had a clearly defined handle pointing skyward. 'Ah man, this is like that one hammer hero movie guy!' she thought to herself as she stood in front of it. She grasped the handle tightly but was surprised to find it came out much easier than anticipated. It was really quite something, whatever it was. Beth wasn't so up to speed on all that nerd stuff but she was recognized this as a pointy thing to hit people with from medieval times but decorated with some diamonds or something. A lance adorned with inset topaz gems.

She gave it a couple of swings admiring how easy and natural it felt in her hands, though she had no idea how to actually fight with such a naturally cumbersome weapon. What had it been doing here anyways?

A groan alerted her that she wasn't alone. "Oh, there you gu--" she stopped mid sentence as she turned to find a shadow of a man standing before her. "Uh, well hi." she said with a hint of confusion. "You lost?" The shadow gave no answer. "Um, is this yours?" she asked giving the lance a shimmy. Still no response. Bethany stood there for several uncomfortable moments with this total stranger. "Well alright then, guess I should be going then." As nonchalantly as possible while holding a bright orange stabber-on-a-stick she slowly walked back to the house. The echo took after her, charging at her with an unnatural gait. With luck Beth was able to whirl around and bring up the lance across her front in defense. The full force of the echo's body came crashing into the lance but Beth held her ground pushing back on the lance caught between them. She reeled her head back and brought it down into a full force headbutt that sent the echo staggering back. Catching herself on her back foot Beth eagerly braced herself for a fight, she took on a battle ready stance with her eyes fixed on the dark figure before her; oblivious to the sparks that started to dance along the length of the lance.

Name: Chris Pinasco
Weapon:Garnet Fire Sword
Location: Staten Island, NY
Time: 12:00 AM December 22nd, 2012

The crackling of a fire... Its soothing Warmth...

Chris quickly opened his eyes. He slowly stood up, trying to remember what had just happened. After a few seconds of thinking, the memories came flooding back. He ran over and flipped the light switch, but the lights would not turn on. He knew that there was no power, but he attempted to turn it on anyway. He found no success. He found his Iphone, but it would not turn on either. He looked out the window to see all the other lights in the area were also out. He noticed something else however. At first it appeared to be nothing more than a red speck, but as Chris focused on it, he realized it was an actual object lying in the street. Chris was instantly interested, and decided to go to it. He walked downstairs and found a flashlight. He tried to turn it on, but it would also not work. Chris was confused. He did not understand why not even battery powered electronics weren't working. He did not dwell on the thought too long however, and chose to light a candle.

He proceeded to leave his house and walk down the street, keeping his eyes glued to the red object. The closer he got, the darker the object seemed to get. Eventually, when he was only a few meters away, the object was barely visible. Eventually, he reached it. He bent down, holding the candle closer in an attempt to identify it. It was a sword, long and sharp. Chris wondered how it ended up where it was. He was about to pick up the weapon when he dropped the candle on it. He quickly reached down to grab the candle, hoping that it wouldn't go out. Chris was shocked to see that, although the candle was no longer touching the metal, Flame still flowed from where the candle had touched.

Chris picked up the sword, surprised by the warmth of the handle. The sword had weight to it, yet did not feel heavy or uncomfortable to hold. He starred at the spot of flame flowing from the blade, both curious and confused. Suddenly everything flashed white. Chris rubbed his eyes, surprised at the sudden bright light. As he opened his eyes again, He saw 5 shapes. He had just enough time to recognize them as humans before they began to fade. Chris was even more confused now. He was so confused it hurt his head to even attempt to comprehend what had just happened.

He turned to head back to his house. As he turned, he saw something. From an alley to his right, he saw something moving. He turned his head just in time to spot a grey shape darting towards him. Chris did not notice until the last second what it was. It was not even human. It did not even appear solid. It appeared more of a mist than a solid, as if the shape would disperse if touched. It did not disperse however. It took Chris off guard, knocking him to the ground. As the creature leaped onto him, Chris did the only thing he could think of. Lying on his back and watching the creature coming towards him, He swung the sword up towards it. As he swung it, the small spot of flame spread, Engulfing the entire blade. The creature burst into flames, falling down on top of Chris. He panicked, anticipating the burning pain of the fire. But none came. In seconds, the fire dissipated, leaving him in total darkness. Even the flame on the sword had gone out. No trace of the creature remained.

Halt Gao
Amber Hammer
Alaskan Wilderness
12:00 am, December 21st, 2012

The feeling of soft dirt underfoot

The sensation of the strong rock wall to be clung too

Halt snapped his eyes open, panting harder and shaking. The world seemed to be spinning all around, nothing had a footing. He could barely see straight. Halt managed to pick himself off the stone a bit, before teetering, and falling back onto the rocks. "Ow!" he yelped, rubbing his butt. He got up again, and looked around more. Something was wrong...he looked around, running in a circle. "Wait...STAR!" he shouts. "STAAAAR!" he shouts louder, and looks around quickly. The mewing he was so used to hearing, was gone, completely gone. He turned around again again, and looked down from the cliffs. The lights from his house were completely out. He gulped, scared majorly. "DADDY!" he shouts down, knowing his father could normally hear him. No sounds. He looks around more, and saw his blankets were gone. The cold began to bite into his flesh and arms.

Halt shivered, and looked around, his nose twitched in the cold. Something felt off...he looked around, and noticed something along the cliff below him. A red and gold shaft seemed to be sticking from a crack along it, with the head of whatever it was still under the rocks. Something felt..calm about it, like it wanted him, or something along those lines. He began to slid down to the hilt, and gently stood on it. He suddenly felt the earth, the power, and his body shook as it filled his soul. He saw images all over.

A wielder of a Scottish Claymore adorned with garnets... A weilder of an Englihs Longbow, covered in amethyists... A wielder of a large jousting lance adorned with topaz... And a wielder of a double-edged axe adorned with emerald... and a wielder with a long staff, set with shappieres.

Halt snapped back to where he was, and looked at the rocks. It was thin and weak along the shaft's end, whatever it could be. He grabbed the shaft, and yanked back hard, crying as it was thrown out and it hit a place near his head. it was a BIG hammer, about as tall as he was, with topazs and amber all along a golden hued gavel head. He blinks, and tries to lift it. it FELT right, but it seemed heavier than he could lift. he groaned, loudly, and tried to lift it. "Damn...it..." he groaned, before turning around for some help. He screamed as a shadow, or shade being, lept at him. Halt barely managed to roll away, the hammer still stuck, and tried to lift it again. "Not good not good!"

Diego Vendrix
Wielder of the Sapphire Water Staff
Ruins of Atlanta, US
January 1, 2013- 6:10 AM

Diego was amazed at just how well the weapon responded to him. While he was sure he was still an amateur, it also felt natural. It was as if the weapon was made for him and him alone. The Malignant Echo attacked in an erratic frenzy, swinging its arms around. Diego simply blocked it with the staff before deciding to end it. He remembered how the staff ended up spewing water. Diego focused and felt a minor draining sensation. If one could see it with enough focus, arcs of strange misty energy went from his fingers to his staff and water spewed out, causing the Echo to lurch back before Diego went and finished it by whacking it with the staff.

The echo vanished into the air like dust. Diego let out a breath as he sat. Well, now what? he asked himself mentally before he saw the light of the weapon glow. The gemstones of each weapon glowed before a colored light arced in a direction somewhere south-west, coming from the weapon.

The colored light enveloped them before they also found themselves flowing through the light. Despite the experience, the light provided them with a glow of warmth and comfort as they saw themselves headed to what looked like Mexico. Diego saw that there were others like him before he turned up. He saw the stars. There was no longer light pollution and the ozone layer was restored. This gave him and the others who looked up a wonderful view.

Eventually, they landed...

Zona del Silencio, Mexico
January 1, 2013- 5:10 AM

Diego looked around. There was plenty of desert around. Near his foot laid a sign that was knocked down. It read "Zona del Silencio". Diego's eyes widened. It was the Zone of Silence, a supposed strange part of Mexico. He looked around and saw the others beginning to come to.

Their weapons glowed once more as a sandstorm kicked in, forming a hexagonal step-pyramid. Each one was lined with designs pertaining to their element and the color of their weapon, indicating which path they needed to take. Once they climbed up and reached it, they found themselves in a small room, with a massive multi-colored stone in the center.

Suddenly, a divine and compelling voice rang out.

Diego licked his lips in anticipation before deciding to go first.

"My name is Diego Vendrix and I carry this... Sapphire Staff," he began.

Owner of the Emerald Wood Axe
Ruins of Stilwater, US
January 1, 2013- 8:00 AM

The echo rushed toward Eli with ghostly fury, but this wasn't the street savvy youth's first rodeo. As the echo fell towards Eli, the axe owner swung upwards. Ectoplasm spattered off the echo as it fell back, and Eli gave whoop of victory. "Now ya falbled mined tree spirit, git chopped!" From the axe's high swing, Eli brought it down on the weakened spirit. The gems on the axe glowed as the echo was cut, and as the echo was chopped in two it dispersed into dust.

"HA!" Eli yelled, axe and fist raised, "I'm frakking invincible, I dare you to strike me down ye fearsom god!"

And with that the emerald axe glowed, and Eli was swept up by the guiding light.

Landing in the desert, Eli was more than a little bit confused. "Oh no no no," he said as he looked around frantically, "they were right, aliens do exist." His shock only grew as the temple rose from the sandstorm, just like in his uncle's alien shows. "Well," Eli thought out load, "time to give these aliens a violent hello from the human race."

Eli didn't climb the pyramid, but ran up it as fast as he could. When he got there he saw a massive ,colorful stoneand heard the words.

INTRODUCE YOURSELVES, CHOSEN WIELDERS

"Knock knock alien, I'm Eli Henderson and welcome to earth!" And with that said Eli rushed the stone.
