“Mass death marks the coming of the twin deceivers… Heroes die, heroes fall… Powers beyond mortal ken… Prepare them, hero who was, heroine to be!”

Five years after Michael saved the Orre region from Cipher, a frantic Fateen burst into the lab where he was working as a researcher and choked out those fateful final words to him and his apprentice before seizing up in agony. Both Michael and his apprentice attempted to resuscitate, but Fateen was dead before they could give her medical care.

Michael, though a scientist, knew he had powerful enemies (including one who specifically swore revenge), so he took Fateen’s words to heart. So for the next 5 years, he began to prepare the lab to take on Cipher again. He drilled his apprentice and everyone else in the lab in all the systems in the lab, trained as many people in battle, even taught hand to hand and as many other forms of combat as possible. Aura readers were mass distributed and the Purify Chamber was greatly refined as information on Shadow Pokemon was made public.

But never did Michael imagine the form that “mass death” would take. For one day, as Jovi walked back from a visit with a friend, as she went to hug her big brother, her backpack exploded. It killed her, Michael, and nearly everyone in the lab as it took it destroyed the structure. And with that, Cipher announced itself.

Michael’s apprentice survived the attack, and, though young, she was also one of the most skilled researchers, and so took over the administration and coordination of the remainder. But, though she was intelligent, she did not anticipate what happened next.

Randomly, inexplicably, and with no known trigger, people started getting powers.

For the next seven years, not only did people struggle to survive against mundane threats, they had to beware of other people shooting fire out of their eyes or building nukes out of vacuum cleaners. And these powerful people, these parahumans, were far from safe, either. Cipher has been attempting to recruit or extort parahumans, trying to make sure that their side has more human weaponry. Cipher has been using these parahumans to dangerous extents, employing them to steal, murder, and all around destroy the infrastructure of Orre. In conjunction with their renewed production and use of the infamous Shadow Pokemon, they have seized a fair amount of territory in the region.

The Lab, meanwhile, has gone all out, recruiting its own parahumans to the lab run Organization, while applying its many scientific minds to figure out the deal with powers as incentive to attract parahumans. They have already made a fair amount of progress, establishing the correlation between having powers and being in certain places at certain times, which they have termed Clusters. They enable parahumans under their employ to train further with their abilities and give them a support network of others like them, in exchange for using them as an army to combat Cipher’s evil.

So where do you stand in this war? Are you aiding the Pokemon HQ lab and the Organization, helping to combat evil? Are you a member of Cipher, attempting to sate your desire for power? Or are you independent, serving your own interests before anyone else’s, not wanting to get caught up in a war everyone else is trying to drag you into?

Powers:

Powers are grouped into the following classification. Powers are rated on a scale of one to ten. One essentially means someone has a neat trick in a certain category, while ten means they’re the example people think of when the category comes to mind.

Mover: Powers dealing with locomotion. Fliers, speedsters, and at the high end, teleporters. Movers who are super fast, however, have a high tendency to have other powers designed to mitigate the stresses of moving very quickly.

Shaker: Environmental control. Low end can cause things like tremors and stuff. As you progress, you get telekinesis, generally of a certain kind of object, or else force fields of some sort. High end Shakers can basically warp reality in the area.

Brute: Powers involving being really tough. You're super strong, and/or you can easily take hits. You can get smacked around without injury far more than the average person, and your blows are far from ignorable.

Breaker: Powers involving "breaking" physics in some way. Although this can be active (say, a Breaker who can play with gravity or the electromagnetic force), it's often passive to protect the powered from their own abilities (speedsters who can ignore friction or pyrokinetics immune to fire).

Master: Masters are controlling. Literally. Either they can control people, or animals, or projections. Keeping in mind that everyone has been paranoid for the past seven years about powers, there have been protocols developed to resist Master talents

Tinker: Probably the most dangerous sort of power. Instead of being super strong or shooting fire out of their eyes, Tinkers are /really/ good at inventing. Tinkers have master technological knowledge, and not only that, but they each have a specialization in which they can surpass even other Tinkers.

Blaster: Ranged attackers. You can shoot fire or lightning or what have you. This is generally limited by line of sight, but a select few Blasters also have extrasensory capabilities (which results in a Thinker classification as well), expanding their line of influence.

Thinker: Powers dealing with data gathering and processing. Either you have an extra sense, or you can multitask really well, or you're a really quick deducer, or, at the high end, you're precognitive.

Striker: Powers that work by contact or at point blank range. Because of this limitation, they get really scary, like being able to overwrite personalities or completely change biology on contact, given time.

Changer: You can change form, generally into something more combat capable. You can, say, make metal grow out of you and into various shapes, or to turn into a beast, or to change your appearance. Changers are often Strangers as well, if their shapeshifting can be used as a disguise.

Trump: Basically? Meta powers. Powers that act on other powers, either immunizing against, copying, or neutralizing them. While basically every power has some combat application, Trumps specifically change the paradigm of a fight, keeping powers from working or giving people new powers.

Stranger: Powers useful for subtlety. Either you're seem really boring and people ignore you, or people forget you're there before they realize your presence, or (at the high end) you're an illusionist.

[b]Limitations on powers:

The Krane Effect: Named in honor of the late Professor Cornelius Krane, the Krane Effect is a major limitation on powers: unless a power is strictly biological in origin, it cannot be directly applied to biological structures. For example, a pyrokinetic could not make fire inside another human being (but this does not preclude the pyrokinetic from making it /next/ to someone to burn the victim to a crisp). However, powers that rely on affecting biology, such as chlorokinesis, would not be affected by this.

Limited Power Variety: Powers are not super versatile: either one gets one very diverse power, or a multitude of limited ones. The rule of thumb seems to be that parahumans do not have classifications in more than three categories.

Limited Power Distribution: There apparently have only been four Clusters so far, and even though they’re the only known way to get powers, only about two in seven people present at a Cluster obtain them. The researchers at the HQ lab are still trying to figure out how this works.

(Final note: these classifications, along with the Krane Effect, are lifted wholesale from a Web Serial called Worm. It’s awesome, and I wouldn’t dream of taking credit for anything from it.)

Locations:

The Pokemon HQ Lab: The base of operations for the Organization, the Pokemon HQ lab is the prime obstacle in the path of Cipher’s crusade for power. The head researcher is also a parahuman who helps to coordinate the Organization (although she is not its leader). Thanks to her, the Organization has its own separate HQ, a couple hundred meters underground, with several covert access points for approved parahumans.

Agate Village: Agate is very well known for its Relic Stone, which, while it still has power, appears to be weaker than it used to be. However, four years prior, Agate was the source of the second Cluster, yielding a fair number of heroes. Agate Village is heavily pro Organization.

Gateon Port: Gateon Port is the first definite win by the Organization, and the third cluster location, from about two years prior. Cipher and independents still attempt to dispute the claim. In fact, Cipher was very interested in holding it at the beginning of the war, but its interest in the area rapidly faded because…

Citadark Isle: …is now a radioactive wasteland. Cipher tried to reclaim its former HQ when it controlled the Port, only for its scouts to die of radiation poisoning. As it turns out, one of Michael’s first preparations to fight Cipher again involved nuking its former home base. Repeatedly. The isolated location thankfully gave it limited ecological and health effects, as the water surrounding the island insulated against the radiation rather well.

Mt. Battle: Controlled by neither the Organization, nor Cipher. Instead, Battlus leads the area in an insular existence for the most part. There are some skirmishes with Cipher, especially over Cipher’s former Key Lair, but generally, any offenses against Mt. Battle have to be made covertly, or else the attackers will generally get themselves obliterated.

Pyrite Town: Pyrite Town has the dubious distinction of having the first known Cluster. Although the Cluster has long faded, its effects have not, as many of the most entrenched parahumans, good and evil, can trace their powers to this location. The town is a constant battlefield, with near constant violence between Organization members, Cipher, and independents.

Cipher Laboratory: Not so Cipher-y anymore. The place is basically destroyed, a victim of the perpetual violent attempts at territory control.

Cipher Key Lair: Not completely independent. Both Cipher and the Mt. Battle folks have been wrestling over this area.

Realgam Tower: Back in Cipher control, since about four years. The extensive resources and battlers that Cipher gained from the area are a major headache for the heroes.

Phenac City: Cipher’s new base of operations is located in the building where Phenac Colosseum used to be. Everyone in the city is either dead or thoroughly on Cipher’s side. The main issue with the city is that, a year ago, it had the last known Cluster in the region. As this happened when the city was completely under Cipher control, it gave Cipher a massive boost in parahuman ability. Now, Cipher is stronger than ever, and may be beginning to gain even more territory.

Eclo Canyon: Until recently, Team Snagem held this place conclusively, not disturbed by the Mt. Battle folks nor Cipher. However, with the recent massive gain in parahuman strength, Cipher reinforced its back lines by completely obliterating the place. Team Snagem attempted to fight, but it went about as well as a Sunkern trying to battle Arceus himself.

Rules:

Typical RP Rules apply. Any godmodding, bunnying, or the like will get your character mysteriously assassinated. Believe me, if you’re doing anything remotely interesting, there will be no shortage of those who would take the opportunity.

If you start out as a normal, it’s easily possible that another cluster will occur and you may gain powers if you happen to be there.

Keep in mind that natural selection has gleefully taken its toll on Orre. I strongly suggest a number of survival oriented traits, such as powerful pokemon, personal combat training, and the like.

Reserved for my characters

Name: Sara Sage

Age: 24

Side: The Organization/The Pokemon HQ Lab

Rank: Administrator of the Organization, Chief researcher of the Lab

Gender: Female

Appearance: Sara stands at about five and a half feet tall, with a bit of a narrow frame. She has a fair amount of muscle on her frame: not enough to stand out or be distracting, but it's definitely clear that she's worked on her body. Her olive skin carries a number of old, faded scars from before her Tinkering days. She has brown eyes too hard to truly be called chocolate colored, and she has slight bruises under them. Her one concession to vanity over function is her long, straight, dark hair, down to her waist (of course, she refuses to be stupid about it, and so her hair carries large multitudes of needles with each one having modified microbes and poisons capable of killing a Groudon with their potency).

In terms of her clothing, Sara tends to favor dark greens in her wardrobe. This is not because of any preference for the colors, but rather because those are the colors of the plants she modifies to produce her clothing. The tightly woven vines have been modified to produce a green substance similar to spider silk, making her shirt and pants essentially bulletproof and very knife resistant. Her shirt reaches to the point where shirt also has glove-like parts, covering and armoring her hands. Her shoes are the one article of clothing she did not make personally, and so are instead just a generic pair of darkly colored sneakers.

Personality: Sara's defining trait is her curiosity. She likes learning, understanding, problem solving, and because of this passion, she's gotten good at it. Even before she became a parahuman, she was a systems thinker, calculating, foreseeing possible issues, and discovering new things because of it. After becoming a Tinker, this talent of hers only became more pronounced, as raw data and capability evolved in her mind to yield one of the most brilliant individuals in the world.

With one major exception.

Though Sara is intelligent to the point of being terrifying, she has no filters when it comes to social interaction. Although she's technically capable of telling lies, she's usually brutally honest with everyone and is a horrible liar anyway. This gets bad enough when her opinions could get insulting, but her natural curiosity makes it even worse. She'll not only ask normal completely inappropriate questions ("Are you knocked up?"), she'll also ask questions that are downright creepy ("Your Thinker power is really cool. Can I dissect your brain after you die?"). Needless to say, this results in a tendency to shove her foot so far down her throat it comes out of her anus. Thankfully, she's aware of her tendency to screw up diplomatic interactions, and therefore she tends to avoid them.

History: Sara was born and raised in Orre, the daughter of biologist and a inventor working in the lab. Since she could toddle, Sara was surrounded by science, machinery, and Pokemon, and her naturally bright mind took to learning everything it possibly could. She reveled in books and libraries, and tended to be in the corner, hiding in a book. Even when she got her first Pokemon, a Tentacool, she kept him around more as a pet than as a battler, preferring to focus on her studies. She was talented enough that Michael personally took an interest in her learning, and she was fully expecting to have original research done by the age of 16. But, that changed when Fateen entered the lab, screeching, pointing at her and calling /her/ the "heroine to be".

From that moment, Michael was merciless in training her and her Pokemon in preparation for the impending war. The next five years were a crash course for her in tactics, training, hand to hand, preparing her for everything she might need to take on Cipher. She continued working in the lab as well, but the quantity of her work (if not the quality) dropped stupendously. The primary thing that suffered, though, was her social interaction. Although she could tactically plan on a battlefield and punch out nearly anyone who crossed her, Sara never really learned how to just interact.

Then the lab exploded. She was in Pyrite at the time and was around long enough for the first Cluster. At first, she thought that she did not get any powers (in fact, she only became aware people had them when she found Thomas). But, when she and Thomas holed up for the night in ONBS, Sara's mind positively came alive. Tinkering with the various bits of scrap metal, stray wire, and some houseplants ONBS had lying around, Sara merged them together and essentially created her own personal minion. Everywhere she saw and thought, inventions came to mind, solutions began to unfold, and she realized that though her power was seemingly low key, the mad science she was using was absolutely not normal. She was a parahuman.

Initially, she debated putting together a group of parahumans to serve at the lab, but come morning, she realized just how horrible and undesirable that was, especially because of her lack of social capability. So, in essence, she dragged Thomas aside and told him that he was going to be leader, with her running the administrative aspects in the background. This turned out to be a far better arrangement, as she got time to invent, didn't really screw things up with the average citizen of Orre, and accidentally made her first real friend out of Thomas in the deal. She supplies the logistics of the lab, organizes the intelligence, and acts as one of the lab's foremost tacticians.

Pokemon:

-Euryale the Hydreigon
--Euryale, despite being a Hydreigon, acts almost as the baby of the group. She doesn't enjoy fighting, and prefers being kind and gentle to everyone she may meet. That said, just because she's meek and dislikes violence, doesn't mean she's weak. When the situation calls for it, she /will/ remind you that there's a reason her species is called the Brutal Pokemon.
-David the Delphox
--David is the quiet member of the group. He rarely says a word, not because he can't talk, but rather because talking is waste most of the time in his eyes. So when he does say something, please. Pay. Attention. It's important. And just as Euryale is an exercise in Bewaring the Nice Ones, David is easily able to demonstrate the being one of the quiet ones doesn't mean you're a pushover, either. If there's a dirty deed that needs to be done, it's likely that David will be the one pulling the trigger.
-Sampson the Breloom
--Sampson is quite possibly the single most hard headed creature in existence. If he doesn't want to do something, no one can make him do it unless they've somehow garnered his respect, a near impossible feat. In fact, the only people Sampson will show any deference to at all is Sara and Tox, and it's heavily implied that it's only because they've saved his life at one point.
-Hippolyta the Aegislash
--Hippolyta is downright the most courageous being in existence. It doesn't matter if she's faced with a Shadow Groudon mounted with 14 different machine guns it can fire at will: she will face the situation without blinking. But while she prefers being upfront, she's far from stupid, and knows that sometimes you have to attack from an oblique angle before ripping the enemy apart baresworded.
-Clytemnestra the Togekiss
--Clytemnestra acts as the mother of the group. She actively revels in making sure each member of the group is emotionally supported and has at least one person they can go to for troubles. That said, pleasepleasePLEEEEAAAAASE don't touch any of the group. Mothers are very protective, even if they're Togekiss, and you wouldn't believe the horrors Air Slash can leave on people.
-Tox the Tentacruel
--If Euryale's the heart of the team, and David is the team's black hand, then Tox is the undisputed leader. When faced with any sort of situation or crisis, he deals with it with a truly unnerving amount of sangfroid, before coming up with a ploy out of who-knows-where that bails everyone out.

Powers:

-Tinker 9 (Biotechnological augmentation)
--Sara's power lies in a highly advanced grasp of scientific principles, allowing her to create and invent potent technology. In her case, she specializes in making biology and technology marry up, enhancing one another to create something more. Because of this specific specialization, she's essentially a cyborg, as are most of her Pokemon.

Laboratory: In Sara's opinion, her greatest invention. Laboratory is essentially a genius loci, a span of many rooms about a hundred meters underneath the Pokemon HQ. It's a living being and a beautifully balanced ecosystem rolled into one, and Sara controls it through an AI that's nearly unhackable because it has both technological and biological aspects intertwined, making it extremely difficult to even be accessed. Laboratory is essentially designed to be a bunker and an HQ at the same time, and its state of the art security systems make it a nightmare to navigate for anyone without proper clearance.

Improved body armor: Sara's clothing functions as a very powerful lightweight body armor.

Nano-technologically modified bacteria: These are Sara's main form of weaponry when she feels that just bashing someone's head against the wall is insufficient to the situation. She has a limited number, but they're designed to take out someone cleanly and efficiently from the inside out.

Biological system enhancement: Sara's a cyborg, basically. And so are all her Pokemon except for Clytemnestra and Hippolyta.

-Brute 7
--Sara has programmed a large multitude of redundancies into her biological systems. Her muscles are capable of lifting far more than usual. Her enhancements to her body make her strong, extremely tough, a very quick healer, and all but immune to the debilitating effects of pain. A punch from Sara at any real level of effort can shatter concrete without so much as visibly scratching up her knuckles.

-Mover 5
--Sara's powerful muscles also enable her to move rather quickly. She capable of dead sprinting at about 70 kph, and keeping it up for quite some time. Although she is far from being able to fly, she is extremely nimble, capable of ascending barriers and maneuvering up to rooftops and across obstacles like a professional in park our.

Other: (Randomness is good. Stealing the moon is bad. Have fun!)

Name: Benjamin "Benji" Verres

Age: 26

Side: Cipher

Rank: Acting head of Cipher

Gender: Male

Appearance: Benjamin does not seem to cut a particularly imposing figure: he's a measly 5'3", and though he has muscle, it is not very visually defined. His blond hair is cut in a mushroom cut down to his ears, and combined with his round face, it gives him a babyish look. This is furthered because he's completely clean shaven, and he tends to wear a dopey grin. However, this grin never reaches his cold grey eyes; in fact, it fails to even approach them.

As to general bearing: Benjamin favors very garish outfits. His general attire includes a pink suit and a neon green tie. He speaks with a somewhat higher pitched voice that's generally considered annoying. He walks as though he's carefree and childlike. All of his demeanor is almost enough to ignore the red stains that sometimes appear on his suit sleeves.

Personality: Benjamin (or "Benji" as he prefers to be called) doesn't seem like the typical leader of an evil organization. He's upbeat, friendly, cheerful, and considerate. He takes a great amount of joy in being silly, and enjoys cute, fluffy things. He has a passion for the color pink, and can often be found spinning in place in his office. And there's absolutely nothing else to his personality. Nothing. At all. Nope.

Well, except for the fact that he's completely evil, but the world is strange and it would boring if we are all the same.

Behind his cheerful facade and his casual demeanor, Benjamin is one of the most terrifying example of "monster" out there. More terrifying is that his cheer appears to be almost genuine, and in fact, it will peak when he is doing things like torturing others to death. But his real danger comes from the fact that he's a brilliant manipulator, and a natural at mind games. He can corrupt, connive, and convert nearly anyone to his games, and his interest is solely in power. Not power in the sense of "I can brawl with Arceus" sort of power, but a more lasting and potent power than that: he seeks control over others, and basically always has it. It doesn't matter how strong the opponent is, he'll do his best to break them with fear and despair and he'll usually succeed too.

History: No one appears to know where Benjamin came from. The first Cipher saw of him at all was when he suddenly appeared by Ardos's side as one of his yes-men. The only remarkable things about him were that he liked pink things, cute Pokemon, and that his Pokemon were quite competent. But as time wore on, Ardos, having taken his vengeance on Michael, began to lose steam. This turned out rather fatally for him and his inner circle, as the Lab apparently didn't waste a lot of time getting Ardos back. Benjamin was the only survivor, and took over.

People thought that Benjmain's takeover would be a harbinger of Cipher's ruin and ultimate destruction. They kept assuming this until both the Lab and Mt. Battle got "messages". "Messages", for those who don't know what the word means in this context, means "each party got a half of Miror B's bisected head." And thus everyone learned that just because something is silly and humorous, does NOT mean it is not dangerous.

Benjamin continued to establish himself as the head of Cipher, manipulating and conniving his opponents and allies equally to ensure his position was maintained. The syndicate has become a well oiled machine under his administration, and he keeps a staff close at hand who are all powerful in their own ways. By balancing their psychoses and other issues off of one another, he has been able to keep them working for him despite their… disparate personalities.

Pokemon:

What Benjamin's Pokemon are like and what their names are is not a well known thing. Their identities are known because Benjamin trains them regularly and people spy, but their various traits are the subject of rumor. Terrifying rumor, in fact: there are reports, for example, that his Snorlax is a "humanitarian" (and /not/ in the Mother Teresa sense). As leader, he uses his prerogative to keep his own cache of Shadow Pokemon (other than his Espeon, whom he keeps on hand) whose main purpose is not battling, but rather being the former Pokemon of some heroes (both dead and alive), designed to screw with people's heads.

-Snorlax
-Azumarill
-Jumpluff
-Arcanine
-Flygon
-Espeon (Shadow)

Powers:

-Breaker 6
--Benjamin is capable of influencing the mass of objects up or down to any extent he likes. Thankfully, he is limited to influencing a volume only about the size of his closed fists put together, and he cannot affect parts of objects. He also cannot affect the mass of any biological structure, thanks to the Krane Effect. However, this power is still one he can use to deadly effect: any increase in mass thanks to his power does /not/ change the velocity of a given object, leaving him capable of throwing fastballs that gain the mass of semi trucks in midair, or having his Flygon whip up a sandstorm as he gives individual grains of sand the mass to rip through organs.

-Trump 2
--Benjamin is completely immune to any powers that would act on his mind or emotions. Master talents cannot directly affect him, nor can any Stranger talents that rely on emotional responses.

-Thinker (?)
--There is speculation that Benjamin has some sort of Thinker power, guarding him. The reason is that, whenever there happens to be a physical conflict, Benjamin has the luck of the devil himself (possibly because he's a /candidate/ for being the devil himself), simply happening to avoid where the most dangerous areas are. That's not to say he's impossible to hit, just that it's very very difficult, like trying to catch a leaf in the wind.

Other: (Randomness is good. Stealing the moon is bad. Have fun!)

Name: She's currently using the alias "Molly". But it's almost definitely not her real name

Age: Mid-twenties? She won't say.

Side: Not officially on a side, but appears to be sympathetic to the labs aims

Rank: Chief Executive of Herself

Gender: Female

Appearance: "Molly" easily tops six feet in height with a couple inches of clearance. Her hair is dyed pitch black and has barely visible blond roots, and it would fall to below her shoulders if she didn't have it in a bun. She has clear muscle definition, but it seems to be more emphatic on her lower body than her upper body. Her body is lithe in general, and its form is one that is best defined as "smokin' hot".

If it were Molly's choice, her clothes would be dark, velvet, and generally be long and flowy. However, as she's in Orre, she makes do with the far more practical dark pair of slacks and sturdy sweatshirt. She keeps her Pokeballs in her sweater pockets, which are fairly deep and have zippers on them. Her bearing isn't particularly noticeable, as she makes a specific effort to be as unremarkable as possible.

Personality: "Molly" is defined primarily by a deep, abiding love for everyone around her. It distresses her to see suffering and pain, and she does her level best to compensate for the Orre region's horrors. Therefore, anyone who interacts with her will have a sense of fulfillment and happiness, as she makes absolutely certain that she is as kind as she can possibly be to all those around her.

That said, "good" and "stupid" are very far apart from one another. She's extraordinarily socially adept, and most people are open books to her. Not only that, but she's a brilliant tactician, supplementing her already potent powers with lessons in ventriloquism, lip reading, and sending a projection with a Pokemon that has a hidden radio so that she can make it look like the projection is speaking. Her improvisations in high pressure situations combined with her capacity for thinking long term make her perfect for the role she's chosen to take as Orre's (hidden) benefactor.

However, "Molly" has an issue in that is innocent, but in a really twisted way. She's completely unaware of the ramifications of lying and manipulation, and sees nothing wrong with either. Living lie detectors can't detect any signs of lying at all, and she can fool a polygraph, which may lead people to see her as a sociopath. Even though she sees manipulation as a tool that can be used to help, anyone who discovers the extent and sometimes the seeming cold bloodedness of her manipulations and lies will come to distrust her in record time, and may even see her as being downright evil. But in her opinion, manipulation exists: it's not bad, it's not good, it just depends on how the person using it.

History: No one really knows where "Molly" came from. In fact, most people don't even know she exists, let alone that she's a parahuman who has been attempting to steer the train wreck that is the Orre region into non-horrible standing, and she endeavors to keep it that way. But her hand is often in play, and her influence is notable. If a hero finds something catching his eye and it reveals a child to save, if an agent of Cipher misses a critical detail that would reveal a mole acting against them, if members of rival gangs pass by each other without seeing one another, averting a horribly bloody battle, it may just be that Molly's hand is at work.

When Molly needs overt action, she uses her projections to do the dirty work. Therefore, though she appears to be perfectly normal, she is several heroes and unaffiliated capes. Most of them are not well known, simply appearing, fulfilling a function, and vanishing into the crowd, never to be heard from again. This suits her just fine, as it keeps /her/ out of the spotlight and allows her to do good without any risk to her person. However, very potent Thinkers (who can process the data all at the same time) and Tinkers (whose various machines can do the data analysis for them) who have devoted time to it can evaluate the various discrepancies between the projected progress of the region and the actual result, and realize that there is another variable in play, one they have been unable to account for. Needless to say, these Thinkers and Tinkers usually keep this to themselves, although both Cipher and the Lab have heard whispers of a mastermind in play.

Pokemon:

-Taylor the Gliscor (F)
--Taylor believes quite a bit in having /fun/. She's perky and pranky, and almost everyone she meets becomes a victim of her juvenile sense of humor eventually (this especially goes for her brother Colin, who needs to "lighten up"). However, when she fight, there really is no such thing as kid gloves.
-Theresa the Dragalge (F)
--Theresa is a champion, a team player. If there are those who are in need, she will not stop until they are helped. She is calm, coolheaded, and never unnecessarily showy, though. When she helps, she does it through a kind words and kind actions. Of course, "kind action" in Orre sometimes means "kicking the **** out of the guy causing problems", but it is what it is.
-Matthew the Lucario (M)
--Matthew is actually not originally Molly's Pokemon at all. Instead, he was trained by a member of Cipher, until his previous trainer met an unfortunate end, possibly at Matthew's hands. He scavenged around Orre until he found himself in desperate straits, only to be saved by Molly and Coraline. Although he will do whatever he believes is in Molly's interests and generally listen to her commands, he's very independently minded, and reacts angrily to any attempts to actually control him. But he also has a lighter side he'll occasionally show, making very funny but completely inappropriate jokes at the wrong times.
-Coraline the Houndoom (F)
--Coraline is very recognizably Molly's first Pokemon. She's a bit of dreamer and a loner, often needing time to wander off by herself. When she does talk, she's usually soft spoken and gentle. The exception to this, though, is when speaking to Matthew, where she'll get snarky and annoyed because of the difficulties everyone has trying to get him to be a team player. Of course, there are speculated to be other reasons, but both Coraline and Matthew will protest angrily and loudly if they are so much as implied.
-Colin the Parasect (M)
--Colin believes fully in being as cautious as possible when approaching any given situation: he likes having plans and backups and further plans to deal with any given situation. However, the frequency with which his plans actually get to be applied is close to zero, forcing him to improvise most of the time. A /lot/. But he's gotten really good at that.
-Mors the Jellicent (M)
--Mors is the oddball in Molly's team. Even though everyone else is well stabilized and kind, Mors is both a jerk and more than willing to eat you. Molly has him in check primarily because she can take him, but on occasion she is willing to let him off the leash. Mors is very unruffled about all the things that happen in Orre, and refuses to get mad about anything (instead, he gets even). Despite his overtly sociopathic tendencies though, he cares about his team members, especially Molly.

Powers:

-Thinker 4
--"Molly"'s Thinker power is actually several smaller ones coming together to form a general potent power. She is capable of passively perceiving all waves on the electromagnetic spectrum within a one-half kilometer of her location. Her power also gives her the mental capacity to understand it all simultaneously and hold it all in her head to create what's essentially a perfect, detailed, spherical picture of her range.

-Blaster 7
--"Molly" is also capable of manipulating all of the waves she perceives to create several different forms of attack, such as moving all of the infrared in an area to a specific location to cook someone, or focusing several beams of light to burn out someone's eyeball.

-Stranger 10
--This is "Molly's" most dangerous tactic. Between her Thinker power and her manipulation of light, she can create several independently acting detailed illusions simultaneously to manipulate situations to her advantage. Because of the specific nature of her power, she is several heroes and independent parahumans at the same time. Like sock puppetry, only in real life. This also allows her to hide under a veil, completely invisible, and because of the nature of her power, her illusions have increased credibility because they register as having the same body heat as a regular human.

Ahhh, this seems awesome! I'm on an iPod right now, but, I'd love to reserve my spot in this RP! When I get on a computer I'll start some character sheets. :3

Emma's character sheet:
Name: Emmaline "Emma" Andersen.
Age: Twenty.
Side: Sideless - but personally prefers the Organization to Cipher.
Rank: Her own boss, trying to stay alive.
Gender: Female.

Appearance:
Standing at a petite height of 5'4'', Emma isn't that tall whatsoever. Her small frame allows her to sneak past others easily without being detected usually. She weighs a light 110 lbs - mostly lean muscle and hardly any fat to her bones. Long, mid-back dirty-blonde hair falls over her silhouette and it's hardly ever brushed or kept back. It spikes in tufts here and there without a care in the world (some people think it's professionally done but Emma disagrees - she just doesn't find the time for it - her hair closely resembles Milla's in Tales of Xillia (http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111217122855/aselia/images/9/9f/Milla-2.png)). Her skin-tone is light with some bronze coloring from being out in the sun a lot, thus, light freckles have begun to form on her face and shoulders from the sun exposure. Her lips have also darkened lightly and are a darker shade of pink. Emma's eyes are a tad-bit larger than most of her facial features and they shimmer a profound emerald-color and are definitely her most distinctive feature. When Emma uses her powers, either actively or passively, her eyes glaze into a deep, striking amber-color (which usually signifies to her opponent's, or allies, to take heed and stay away).

Emma's outfit isn't much at all. In fact, since she's been traveling and trying to survive in the Orre Region she hasn't had much time to find a new apparel. Emma wears a red tube-top that bares her stomach. When it's cold she wears a tattered and torn dark denim hoodie. The tears come from Emma - something she isn't proud of. Wrapped around her hands are brown, leather gloves that stretch up to her wrists. The openings of her gloves poof out giving them a fluffed-up look. Her bottom-half consists of wearing white denim-shorts with black leggings that stretch down to her mid-calf. The front of her shorts have seams tearing while her leggings have snags all around the lower part of her legs. Finishing her outfit are mid-calf, black, buckle-less boots that she can easily slip on. They're weather-resistant (although the outsides look somewhat worn). Finishing her outfit are small accessories such as three gold bangles around each wrist and a gold chain around her neck with a single, emerald pendant. She also wears a brown, leather belt that carries each of her Pokemon.

As well as her outfit, Emma carries two more staples to her character, which, are a simple leather and brown satchel and black-colored sunglasses. Inside she carries some rations for both herself and her Pokemon such as berries and herbs. There are a couple of flints and a pocket knife in her bag as well as some bandages and a flask filled with water - most times.

Personality:
Before Emma entered the Orre Region she was careless, happy, and free of burdens. She was a sweet and emotional girl who tried to help anyone she could. However, that all changed within the last five years of living in Orre. Her personality has almost shattered with who she used to be and any remains have been tucked away. Emma has become cold-hearted and doesn't particularly care for anyone else - human-wise. Her trust has deteriorated throughout the years towards fellow humans and she honestly doesn't know who to believe anymore. The only creatures she finds solace with are her own Pokemon.

However, deep down, Emma has a weak disposition. She puts on a false front to keep herself safe from the world. Although most of her traits have shattered throughout the years, her emotional side remains (it is especially evident when her powers trigger). Due to living in the Orre Region, Emma has begun to develop an undiagnosed case of Bipolar Disorder which triggers itself when her powers are used. Although her manic and hypomanic episodes come and go naturally they are sped up every single time her powers are triggered - which, mostly result in manic episodes vs hypomanic ones.

When Emma undergoes one of her episodes it's almost as if she gains an entire new outlook on life itself. Not to be confused with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Emma can either gain a high off of life and become overly talkative and creative (her hypomanic episodes) or become completely depressed, confused, hysteric, and under a form of psychosis (her manic episodes). She becomes extremely dangerous to be around when she's undergoing these moods and can cause quite an amount of destruction. Emma's Pokemon try to keep her under lock and key during this time but during these moods she can become quite manipulative.

History:
Emma was born and raised in the beautiful lands of Hoenn. She was raised in a humble area near Mauville City and was raised to be a well-liked and respectable woman. Emma wasn't one to be spiteful or anything of the sort. In fact, she was a superb role-model and was highly praised and looked upon while she lived in Hoenn. Emma's first Pokemon was an Eevee, her current partner to this day, named Flash. Due to living in the "bright and shiny city of fun" Emma fell deeply in-love with the Electric-types that roamed the area and thus, her Eevee soon-after evolved into a Jolteon. Following Flash's evolution, Emma was roughly thirteen years of age and it was about time she traveled the Hoenn region to indulge in the life of a trainer (being homeschooled meant she was able to travel at an early age). Through her adventures she caught a Feebas (which has since evolved into a beautiful Milotic), a Skarmory (which actually chose Emma as his trainer), and a Shuppet (which has since evolved into a dastardly Banette).

As Emma traveled the vast land of Hoenn for two years she received news that her grandmother from Agate Village, Orre, needed some assistance as she was getting older. No one in Emma's immediate family were able to travel to Orre to help the ailing elder (due to "indescribable" incidents) so Emma, being young, vibrant, and ready to tackle the world set out on her own at fifteen to help her grandmother. However, news about the Orre Region didn't reach Hoenn until it was too late. As soon as Emma reached the region all connections and ties with Hoenn were soon cut-off. It was then Emma realized that she wasn't able to return home. She learned of the new abilities humans were gaining and, to Emma, it was completely foreign. Hardly making it safely to Agate Village, Emma was greeted with friendly faces all around. However, worry set-in quickly when Emma reached her grandmother's home within the trees. It wasn't soon before Emma was informed of Cipher and the terror that was unfolding in the Orre Region. The information and news shocked the young fifteen-year-old and she was unsure of herself.

For an entire year Emma witnessed the struggles of everyone in her village and for an entire year she had seen more bloodshed than any sixteen-year-old should be exposed to. Since moving to Orre to help her grandmother, there had been no connections to any of the other regions. In fact, Orre officials made sure the news wouldn't reach out to anyone else (to keep a war from ensuing). That same year Emma was able to pick up two new, and final, additions to her party from a neighbor who helped take care of Emma's ailing grandmother. They were a Shiny Zorua and Espurr. Quite foreign to Emma but, happily, she agreed to take care of them. Everyone in Agate Village, who knew her, trusted Emma with many tasks. She was the poster child for keeping everyone happy and content - she was a ray of light. However, this ray of light was soon-to-be extinguished. It was a brisk autumn day and Emma was asked by a fellow neighbor, the same one who presented her with baby Pokemon, to fetch a few items outside of Agate's boundaries. Hidden in a small, yet lush area, were a field of berries that seemed to flourish. She was instructed to pick up some berries and Emma did as she was told. However, when she returned something seemed off and she was right. Many people were rushing to and fro panicking like Torchics with their heads chopped off. Confused yet alert she rushed to her grandmother who seemed to be doing worse. Her grandmother explained that a phenomenon known as a "Cluster" was occurring - the same one that happened three years prior in Pyrite Town.

That same evening, as the Cluster faded, Emma's grandmother faded away. Emma was told, by officials of the Organization, that her grandmother and many other elderly couldn't handle the extremities the Cluster put on their genetic makeup. They deemed it appropriate that she wasn't going to make it much longer even if the Cluster didn't occur. Confused, pained, and hurt Emma couldn't take the news and something that night went off in Emma's mind. The small house she lived in with her grandmother began to shake furiously and the floorboards began to creak and crumble. The Organization was clearly intrigued by her innate powers - however, Emma didn't want any of that. Before she was probed and questioned by the Organization, Emma freaked out and escaped Agate Village. Since the Cluster in Agate, Emma has found a temporary shelter in and out of Phenac City and Pyrite Town.

Pokemon:
http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/jolteon.gif
Flash the male Jolteon with Volt Absorb. Flash is all about being there for Emma in her time of need. He's been with her through thick and thin and could never imagine leaving her side. He's always out of his pokeball ready to pounce on anyone who gets near his trainer.
http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/milotic.gif
Siren the female Milotic with Cute Charm. Siren tends to portray her beauty whenever she can. Whenever anyone of the opposite gender touches her or lays eyes on her beauty they tend to fall in-love with Siren - thus, her name - always beckoning those to do her bidding.
http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/skarmory.gif
Odyssey the male Skarmory with Sturdy. Odyssey is a quiet yet formidable ally of Emma's. His always watchful eyes gaze down upon his trainer. Taking on the "guardian angel" role, he never has Emma out of his sights and tends to follow her from the skies.
http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/banette.gif
Lilith the female Banette with Cursed Body. Lilith is Emma's sneaky little deceiver. When Emma needs to track someone or needs to find an escape route she sends in her Banette - or - if she's being pursued by a person of powers she uses Lilith's ability, Cursed Body, to disable their abilities shortly (if touched) for a quicker getaway.
http://www.serebii.net/Shiny/XY/570.png
Shadow the male Shiny Zorua with Illusion. Shadow is the brother to Emma's Espurr, Mercy. His shiny disposition makes him eye-candy for thieves everywhere. Emma usually keeps him hidden in a pokeball when she's in a major town or city. Other than that, she keeps him out of his ball most times since he can simply hide his shimmer from plain view for an amount of time.
http://www.serebii.net/xy/pokemon/677.png
Mercy the female Espurr with Infiltrator. Mercy is the sister to Emma's Shiny Zorua, Shadow. Mercy is a quiet kitten who tends to find herself in heaps of trouble. She loves to wander off on her own and that usually results in trouble not only for herself, but ultimately for Emma too. If Mercy isn't under the watch of Emma's older Pokemon, or herself, then she's usually kept in her pokeball.

Powers:
Striker - 3
Emma is able to pass on her Striker ability through two different scenarios. One involves touch by skin-contact through her lips, hands, and fingers while the other method is through a combination of her Striker and Breaker abilities. Through skin-contact, Emma's touch can bring anyone down to their knees. Her skin emits a form of toxin that can seep into her foe. Unseeable by the human-eye, it goes without notice for a brief while. As the toxins make their way into her foe's bloodstream it becomes evident that the toxins are attaching themselves to muscles. As the toxin spreads it begins to break down control of the nervous system and muscular components - enabling her opponents to lose control of themselves and leaving them in a state of paralysis that is completely incurable at that point.
-- When touched the foe feels a sting and only a soreness in the area of contact.
-- Depending on how much toxin has spread into the foe's body, it takes anywhere from being instant to a complete hour for the paralysis to kick in.
-- The paralysis is curable to some extent with the right amount of Pecha and Cheri berries - providing you find them before the paralysis kicks into full effect.
-- If the nervous system begins to shut down then hopes for a cure are doubtful.
-- The toxin cannot pass itself onto Poison-type Pokemon whatsoever.

Through the second method, Emma is able to use her Striker abilities to pass her toxins on through contact with the ground and area around her. Although this method is completely taxing it is also rare that she'd ever use it due to her unstable confidence and control with her powers. When her two powers combine into one, her Breaker ability can keep everyone in five feet of her grounded and paralyzed. The toxins from her skin mix with her abilities as a form of shockwave - literally. It isn't as harmful as direct contact (as this doesn't cause lifelong damage), however, it does cause instant paralysis for about twenty minutes (unless a mixture of Pecha and Cheri berries are used right away).

Shaker - 10
Emma's Shaker abilities are profound and very versatile. Her ability comes in three flavors, each with their own destructive manifestation and they are her abilities to: Cause tremors, chasms, and aftershocks; create golems; and to control the ground telekinetically.

Following suit with her emotions, when Emma is under distress or pain her ability to control her Shaker abilities are quite evident. Her most used out of her three forms is her ability to cause tremors and aftershocks. Playing with the stings of her emotions the ground beneath her begins to shake violently, crack, and cease to hold together. The plates beneath her feet begin to crumble like broken cookies and the ground begins to separate (sometimes even disperse the ground into small chasms). Her range of destruction is varied by her episodes and emotional state-of-mind. She can either cause a small shake in the ground to warn her enemies she isn't one to be messed with or lose control and decimate an entire village - possibly even a city. However, the latter two scenarios hardly ever occur and it's usually the former that presents itself more than anything. After she causes a tremor in the ground, or, an earthquake Emma's active Breaker abilities to create shockwaves kick in and they usually reverberate underneath her causing more destruction.
-- Able to create tremors that range from small shakes and cracks in the ground to decimation of an entire village or city. The former scenarios hardly ever evident.
-- Aftershocks usually occur when Emma is trying to escape from someone or something. She switches her Breaker ability to active to cause shockwaves beneath the ground.

With broken rubble, Emma is able to create golems to do her bidding. By using telekinesis to form the golem and using her passive Breaker ability to break physics she's able to give life to her once inanimate creature. Her golem will follow her like a Pokemon follows their trainer. However, unable to think for itself, when it's in danger it will continuously fight until it cannot move any longer (or until it's time evaporates). Being sired to Emma means it will give it's life no matter the cost and will protect Emma in any situation.
-- Able to create golems by using her telekinetic powers and passive Breaker ability.
-- Emma must be attached to her golem in some way for it to take life (such as putting something of her's on the golem or by touching it).
-- The golem will stay alive for as long as Emma is attached. However, if the golem strains itself too much strength and/or stamina-wise it will cease to live itself and fade away.
-- Emma is only able to create one golem and only up to 5' for now.
-- Her ability to create golems are actually unknown to Emma herself at the moment but are entirely possible if she realizes her innate power.

Telekinetically, Emma is able to control the earth as she pleases. Being advanced in the field of being a Shaker, ability-wise, she's able to use her mind and thoughts to move the ground, or anything created by the earth, at will. Although it's quite the taxing process Emma is able to use something as simple as rocks to do many tasks for her. These tasks include, but are not limited to: helping her get to a destination; hitting a target from a distance; and breaking into or out of an area. However, her limitations keep her from using this ability to it's fullest since she cannot bend nor shape metal (although she's working on it). She's only able to use boulders, rocks, pebbles, and anything made with stone.
-- Able to use any form of rock or stone to help with a variety of tasks (as listed above).
-- Unable to use anything shaped or made with metal. However, with time she may be able to in the future.
-- Able to use her telekinesis to form and give shape to her golems.

Breaker - 7
Emma's Breaker abilities manifest into both passive and active ways. Passively, her ability keeps her from receiving any harm from her own innate abilities and herself. Emma cannot do harm to herself whatsoever. Her body has developed a form of control and safety measure that will try to keep Emma alive at all costs. The passive ability, however, can wear away if a constant array of events occur that involve too much strength and stamina (such as being shot at with a machine gun - her body will produce barriers to keep her safe but will dwindle over time due to the repeated exertion that needs to happen to keep her safe).
-- Able to form and create barriers and shields when in distress. Unable to create barriers or shields for others.
-- Can barely levitate off the ground. Only when falling from extreme heights.
-- Able to breathe underwater when in distress for a short amount of time.
-- Able to break physics in some ways such as giving life to an inanimate object for a brief period of time.

Actively, however, Emma is able to control gravity to some extent and is able to create shockwaves. Her powers are based solely on her emotions, like her Shaker ability, and are hard to get a grasp on when she needs it most. Most actively used when in her manic episodes, Emma is able to keep people grounded within twelve feet. Pressure grows on people around her and they fall into the ground, unable to move. While using this ability though, Emma is left completely defenseless barrier-wise due to her Breaker ability switching from passive to active.
-- Able to keep pressure on her opponents - unabling movement.
-- When mixed with her Striker ability she can cause paralysis for a short period of time.
-- When angered or upset she can cause accidental shockwaves that can push her opponents back or deeper into the ground.
-- When mixed with her Shaker ability she can cause aftershocks.

Other: Emma's abilities come from her extreme emotions. She's technically unable to use the brute force of her powers unless she hits her manic episodes (in which case, it is completely possible for her to trigger enough emotions to cause the higher end of her powers). Currently, Emma is able to control her Striker abilities to their fullest extent, very low-end Shaker abilities, and hardly any Breaker abilities. That doesn't mean she can't control them while in her episodes, however.

Popshakes has evolved into Reserved Popshakes!

Liiammmm
01-13-2014, 01:49 AM
I'd like to make two character reservations, please.

Character One: Sam Webster.

Name: Sam Webster.

Age: Unknown, presumed to be around mid thirties.

Side: For hire by anyone, money is his only aim and he will do whatever he must to achieve that aim.

Rank: N/A, though he is known well in the underground scene.

Gender: Male.

Appearance: Sam keeps his appearance an enigma. He shrouds himself constantly with dark clothes and hoods, intent on keeping his identity a secret. In doing so, he retains the representation of being an unknown manipulator, something that he has worked on for a long time. The cloaks he dons are usually dark colours - navy blues, blacks, dark browns and greens - which allow two things: a sense of power which he , as well as a sense of enigma. The cloaks will often reach to around knee level. Underneath the cloaks he wears an outdated version of battlewear - it resembles medieval armour in design, and is not incredibly durable but provides more freedom than newer versions. This battlewear covers his entire body, and is used as nothing more than protection.

Sam's physical stature is nothing that strikes as intimidating. At 5'9 and weighing 144lbs, he is not physically dominating. Underneath his cloak is short and ragged brown hair, with dull brown eyes and a slightly large nose. A twisted and warped smile is plastered onto his face amid a peppering of stubble, though the smile is rarely seen. His body is void of any definitive muscle, his physique is slim and smooth. He has a few scars that decorate his arms and backs due to previous incidents while working - they are gouged primarily across his shoulders and upper arm. He also has a tattoo of a single rose being burnt which is placed on his right forearm.

Personality: Sam is, in the simplest of terms, psychotic. He does not retain a single regular form of thinking, and his thoughts are often dark and haunted. These haunted thoughts often creep into what he says, which can confuse and scare those around him. His humour - what little there is - is sadistic and dry. He knows that he is not physically scary, so instead he relies upon mental intimidation to achieve what it is that he desires. He is not allied to a single cause - as long as he is paid, he will do what he must. This is his sole driving force in life.

Sam does not often show much regard for the pain he inflicts upon other people - any times he does regard it, it is usually to revel in the twisted beauty of the situation. He does, however, show compassion for injured or abandoned Pokémon, of which three of his own Pokémon were, once. When discovering a Pokémon in pain, he will first track the area down for any humans. Any that are in the location receive an interrogation while his own Pokémon help to relieve the injured Pokémon. After this, he will treat the Pokémon in any way he knows how to. Sam will often go out of his way to ensure that Pokémon are not injured in any malicious way, unless it is he who is causing the pain or it is necessary for survival.

History: What is life without the wealth to live it?

Growing up as a poor child, Sam would always strive to be the best he could be. If he could better his life in any way possible, he would take the chance and bear the consequences. During his childhood he worked at least four jobs, trying his hardest to gain the single most precious thing that could better his life: money. To Sam, money was everything. Money bought what would make him happy, it would bring him his desires, it would bring him his life. When he was without any money, he felt lost. Though this was rarely the case.

Initially, Sam did only legitimate jobs - working in Pokémon centres was something that lit a spark within him. For several years he treated mistreated Pokémon and slowly developed a hatred to the careless trainers who allowed their Pokémon to be put into such pain. As he did not have any Pokémon of his own while growing up, he got very angry and passionate when people would take their comrades for granted. In private, he would often approach anyone he saw abusing or mistreating their Pokémon and try to convince them of their ways, through physical means. In this time, he would almost always be at a disadvantage due to the other person being a better trainer or having a weapon. This is where the majority of his scars come from.

He met his first Pokémon comrade while performing a job for a crime gang. It was a simple snatch and grab. He had no idea what it was he was to be grabbing, but all he knew was that whatever inside the package was valuable and could be used to revolutionise defensive weaponry when it was "used and disposed of". When Sam saw that one of the items with the "package" was a Poké Ball he refused to take the creature back to the crime gang, instead choosing to release the Pokémon. He explained the entirety of the situation to the creature, a Gardevoir, who in turn sought to protect him just as he had protected her. He accepted the protection.

Through the several illegal jobs he performed, his mind started to waver and crack. Breaking the law on so many occasions caused issues within his brain, and eventually it snapped and boiled over into a psychotic disorder. This has been with him ever since, and it haunts his mind and twists his thoughts, though Sam is unaware. His Pokémon were captured from the crime gangs HQ following a police bust - the group's Poké Balls had been hidden by Sam previously that day in order to protect them all. Sam released the vast majority and just kept a select five, which have now become his team.

While his Pokémon do not always agree with his actions, they know that it is what makes their master happy. As such, they choose to simply allow Samuel to do what it is that makes him happy and completes his life.

Pokemon: Mr. Mime - Mimicry
Tyranitar - Blocker
Banette - Schadenfreude
Espeon - Reflection
Roserade - Decay
Gardevoir - Guardian

Powers: Master - Level 7: Sam is able to influence the way in which someone moves. A lot like he is pulling at the strings of someone's limbs, he is able to make alterations in someone's actions. He doesn't claim full control, rather he just influences and pushes / pulls the individual. When he uses this skill he creates a one-way link between his mind and their body. Something that Sam has started to perfect is his own personal form of hypnosis. By spending hours physically inspecting somebody using his link with their body, he gains knowledge of their personal biological make up. Following this, he gains an ever-present attachment with that individual's body. If that person is in the area, he can reconnect this link and influence their actions and powers as he wants. The amount that this link is used will strengthen his influence, as well as working in tandem with his thinker power to gain a higher level of understanding of the individual's mind. This is through the way in which he detects the individual's voluntary and involuntary bodily reactions when he forces them to do something.

Thinker - Level 7: Sam has a heightened ability to discern immediate situations and possible actions to take in those given situations - what may take somebody hours upon hours to work out he can solve in a significantly shorter time. He also has a heightened judge of character - the longer spent around someone, the more he will be able to discern their actions and personality. This works in tandem with his master power - if he has his link with someone, then he will be able to discern their actions. Once the link is removed, he no longer takes information in about that individual at a heightened rate.

Trump - Level 5: Sam's trump ability allows him to interfere and nullify another person's powers and abilities for as long as he wishes, so long as the link from his master power is on them. This ability also grants him immunity from other forms of trump so long as he focuses on blocking out the opposing trump powers. In doing so, it lowers his ability to use his own trump power.

Character Two: Jessica Saunders.
Name: Jessica Saunders.

Age: Twenty three.

Side: Allied with the Organization.

Rank: High ranking guard / soldier.

Gender: Female.

Appearance: Through constant training and vigilance, Jessica has achieved a slender body, standing at 6'2" and weighing only 104lbs. Her hair - blonde - falls neatly down to her shoulder blades when she lets it flow freely, but most often keeps it in a ponytail, with a fringe framing her eyes. Her eyes themselves are icy blue, accompanied by a sweet smile which seems almost out of character for a soldier. Her skin is smooth and pale, signs of someone who has spent a lot of time perfecting their appearance for reasons only they know. Her arms and legs are long, slim things, protruding from a thin body with small breasts.

Her outfit is state of the art battlewear. Kevlar that has been manipulated by high level tinkerers to be lighter, more malleable and tougher than normal. It is a white suit, softly glowing blue due to the lights that are placed within small grooves across the body. These grooves allow the suit to be taken apart and thus taken off, and are located at the shoulders, breasts, pelvis, knees and ankles - every groove has the small blue lights placed within them. The suit is skintight to prevent anything from being caught on environmental objects or grabbed by the opposition. It is designed to be usable in every situation and environment, and is thus used as every day clothing as well as combat gear.

Personality: As to be expected form most soldiers, Jessica's personality is split. In normal situations, she is an intellectual, somewhat sarcastic girl, who is independent and happy to speak up for what she believes is right and wrong. This half of her personality is opinionated, and a strong believer in rights for everyone and everything, as well as allowing everyone to get their own points across. She is happy to argue and just as happy to back down. Her humour is relatively dry, but she does get a few small laughs from cheesy and predictable jokes. She is down to earth and believes that everything happens for a reason.

The other half of her personality is that of a coldhearted soldier. Anytime a fight breaks out she will sever all attachments to her ordinary life and focus entirely on the situation that is at hand. She will take any and all orders that she deems necessary to follow, and will not stop at anything until her task is complete. This half of her personality allows her other half to live peacefully, as while she is under the influence and haze of this personality she feels no remorse or guilt for her actions. Anything that could otherwise scar another human being is locked out and buried within her mind, so as to protect her ordinary life.

History: Jessica lived a completely normal life, void of any surprises. Growing up in Agate Village, her childhood was calm and simple; a few hospital visits due to accidents when she was playing rough, but aside from that there were no issues. During her upbringing she had always been a tomboy, always happy and willing to play rough with everyone else. Her parents let it happen, knowing that that was simply who their daughter is. They had no qualms with it and merely played it off as a quirk of her personality. She never picked fights, nor did she do anything that could potentially injure someone, so there was no apparent problem.

During her teenage years, Jessica became increasingly more rough, starting to pick fights with people. Most saw this as a reaction to her "terrible upbringing", though in truth it was simply Jessica's way of dealing with any injustice she saw around her. If she saw something that was negatively affecting someone else, she would do what she could to help, even if it meant picking fights with people. She knew that actions spoke louder than words, and when these people were being unruly to those who needed help, why should she just shout at them? Again, her parents had no true qualms with this, due to the fact that they knew that their daughter had their own way of dealing with her own life. They provided help if needed, but otherwise they believed that their daughter would be okay with just their guidance, nothing more.

That, however, was their problem. They only ever "guided" Jessica, never truly taught her right from wrong. They thought that having their daughter take care of any injustices was completely okay, but she quite often found herself helping the wrong person. She was taken in by police numerous times due to her attempts at "helping" - in truth she would be defending a criminal. Her parents were happy enough to smooth things over, but never treated it like a problem. After the fifth accident, she was given an ultimatum; either go to jail or do something to help her country. Jessica's mind was, naturally, made up at that point, and she was enlisted into the military. Though the Pokémon military wasn't very flash or out there, they were located all around the world, acting as protection for most major organizations.

Jessica's powers came from the Agate Village cluster, when she was home with her parents. Her parents had some form of research on the Relic Stone and Jessica herself was afraid of the potential of somebody trying to steal it, due to its supposed value. Jessica was not prepared to put her parents' lives at risk, nor their research, so she requested to be assigned to protect them.

She was performing a routine scout and her own research on the Relic Stone when the cluster occurred. Jessica does not recall the events, all she knows is that everything around her felt more alive, as though there was static electricity running through the air. Following that, she passed out, waking up a few hours later in her house with her parents. The days following that were slow and hazy, all she remembered was that feeling of electricity running wild. She discovered her powers when her family was attacked.

Her parents had been asked to deliver any and all information they had to the Organization, something that they had been waiting for for a long time. They had been waiting outside of Agate Village, awaiting their daughter's arrival before they left, only to be greeted by masked strangers who unleashed hell upon them. Jessica arrived in time to see them being dragged away, instantly giving chase with her Talonflame and Luxray. Her parents' captors were too slow to avoid the fight, though they were well equipped and prepared. The devices they used isolated her Pokemon, leaving Jessica to fight by herself. In a moment of intense rage, her blaster ability came forth, decimating the devices that her opponents had used and releasing her Pokemon.

Though she saved her parents, their data had been taken and was long gone. They could replicate it, but were terrified of what could be done with it in the wrong hands. Following this incident, Jessica was assigned to protecting The Organization, with two purposes; to ensure that incidents such as Cipher's initial bombing do not happen again, and to develop her abilities to protect those around her.

Pokemon: Venusaur - Blossom
Forretress - James
Blaziken - Elizabeth
Luxray - Cole
Jellicent - Jacqueline
Talonflame - Jake

Powers: Blaster - Level 6: What makes Jessica an average blaster isn't the potency of her individual shots, it's the speed at which they come and the wide diversity she wields in producing each shot. Capable of producing numerous elemental blasts which she fires at rapid speed, the lack of power is made up for in being able to provide nigh constant bombardment that can affect any member of her opposition.

Breaker - Level 5: Jessica is capable of manipulating the space that surrounds her alone. She is capable of changing gravity and magnetic fields, but only in her direct area, so it only influences her. This is mainly used to give herself an advantage in fights through the way in which she gains control of the immediate area around her.

Brute - Level 7: Jessica has the ability to act as something of a wall in the middle of prolonged combat, as well as CQB. Her brute power passively grants her tougher skin, so as to allow her to take stronger shots without any true difficulty. It also grants her a passive regeneration, constantly slowly knitting her wounds together and repairing what is broken. She does, also, have increased muscle strength, providing her with significantly stronger physical attacks. If she is to focus her power on her tougher skin or her regeneration then those parts of her power will become a lot more potent, but at the cost of lessening the other aspects of her brute power.

Other: Jessica has an attachment to her suit which acts as a laser aiming sight for her blaster attacks. This is used as much for her accuracy as it is to strike fear into someone's heart in close situations. She also has numerous ways in which she uses her blaster ability, demonstrated though the different hand and arm actions she will make - long swings to short flicks of the hand all demonstrate some form of potency, speed and elemental alignment of each shot.

Sure, and pretty much, respectively. Rule of thumb is that you can't have powers that span more than three classifications.

Oh, so the classification isn't the powers themselves, but what one could accomplish with them?

The Nonexistent Tazz

Hrm, have you made me curious? Yes, yes you have. Reserve me for a neutral or two, I have an idea already.

Name: (I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS I DON'T EVEN!!) Clydus 'Corkscrew' Lomota
Age: 27
Side: Neutral.
Rank: Absolutely undisputed and utterly beloved king of himself, with totally nonexistent competition. (Full title).
Gender: Male.

Appearance: Corkscrew looks somewhat odd: Mr. Lomota is a demolitions expert, so naturally he has a hard hat on his head at all times. Outside of that, He wears a buff that covers his face, leaving his eyes exposed (Sandstorms are a pain in the neck), and wears Perscription Go-go goggles to make sure he isn't blinded. He has a brown and ragged leather jacket, which has a lot of pockets, and a thick set of jeans, as well as sturdy boots. He also has a brown backpack on, just in case: He's generally targeted due to his expertise in blowing up s**t to hell, so he's found himself on the run for a while. He's got a pistol on his person ready and available at all times, and the always-reliable hunting rifle is typically on his back for convenience purposes.

Clydus himself is a tall, lanky and thin fellow, at least 6-foot-9 (He's had jokes on the exact numerical value of his height), which is highly unexpected for a Brute. He doesn't look very physically intimidating in terms of muscle, which helps disguise the fact he's a Brute. Clydus has deeply tanned skin, giving him a nice bronze hair color. Clydus is clean-shaven, though his black hair is decicively long for his age. He's got fairly beady eyes, a subtle nose, and a somewhat shrunken mouth, though like you'd see that. Clydus has black eyes.

Personality: Clydus seems cocky at a glance: He's fairly confident in his abilities and will not waste time bragging about them. He's definitely a social creature, though hardly the nicest person ever due to his cocky personality (if you didn't guess by his self-proclaimed title). He's somewhat standoffish, though not impulsive, and thankfully has some kind of head on his shoulders. He rarely worries about anything, and in general, seems to underestimate his foes and overestimate himself.

This is a relative lie. He's not a very manipulative person, but he says what he does explicitly to make people mad, weak, vulnerable, and generally unable to function at a higher level of thinking. Whist he appears to underestimate the danger of the threats and foes he may encounter, he's fully aware how bad they are and is typically competent enough to act upon his knowledge. Whist he brags, he never showcases, which makes people in for a rude surprise if they expect him to have feet of clay (so to speak), and he generally uses generic terms to describe what he has to make the details all the more of a shock to others. In short, albeit he is not a true manipulative ba****d, he is still capable of screwing with you, if you let him get to your head. Granted, he definitely is the competetive person he makes himself out to be, and albeit he isn't above getting dirty, he likes fighting fair. On that note, he also likes explosives, which is why he's currently a demolitions expert. He can't arm missiles, but he can shoot fireworks and knows how to work C4 and other such explosives. He is also a fairly good shot with both of his guns, and he's got a Blue Belt in Judo.

He's got a nasty phobia of Spiders. Also needles, but that's a common one, isn't it?

In terms of the conflict that troubles Orre, he leans towards the Organization, namely because Cipher has the unfortunate habit of antagonizing Clydus during attempted recruitment, but getting involved in this War is simply not his style. He doesn't like killing (he will if he must, but he does so with relative hesitation). The only reason he's staying in Orre at all is because he's got barely any money to hire a ship that's safe from Tentacruel/Jellicent attacks, and he's not exactly getting a paycheck when he's running for saftey. If he gets the money to get a boat and get away, he's gone. Maybe with a friend or two that he knows well, but he'd leave that war behind in a heartbeat if he could, as of right now...But who knows what could happen to him that could make him change his mind?

History: Admittantly, Clydus doesn't have the most interesting back story ever. Clydus was born to average-wealth people in Pyrite Town, and lived there for most of his life until the 1st Cluster broke out, when he was 22, a little while after he graduated. His life before then, aside from receiving half of his Pokemon Team, was relatively boring, to be honest: He went to school like a good student, got B's and C's like a fairly good student, and generally showed a fondness for his father's job, which was also a Demolitions expert. He graduated from High school, and started learning how to do his Father's job. He did get lucky in a lottery and won a very well-bred Blaziken, and did get his Pyrotechnics license and a job as a demolitions expert, but that was the limit of his noteworthy attributes.

When the 1st cluster hit, however, chaos ensured, and Corkscrew was right at the heart of it: People, people with powers, everywhere. Maybe not a crazy load of people, but definitely enough people to start a whole lot of truble, as people turned into Pokemon, caused earthquakes, and started smashing buildings (and those were not mutually inclusive events). Clydus, in a fit of hysteria at being caught in this mad chaos killed an approaching man (who didn't get gifted) with a thunderbolt, and after a few minutes of freaking out over killing a guy (and how he killed him), officially realized he could count himself in the camp of Parahumans. He did fry a guy, but outside of that, he found his powers relatively awesome. After realizing that his parents might have been in some kind of need, he ran back to his house to make sure he wasn't needed. Living on the outskirts of Pyrite Town, his parents were exempt from the Cluster's range, which didn't help matters when a brute came crashing in, though Clydus managed to get the Brute away from his family before any more dying could happen. Clydus, with his ability to fry people with thunderbolts, the ability to take hits like a freaking tank, and the ability to null powers (which was realized in an off time), was a great defense for his then-wounded parents, before order started to be restored by the forces of the Organization, while he got everything in order to send them off to Hoenn. His Parents simply did not deserve to be caught up in that, and Clydus assumed he could sneak aboard to rejoin them.

Clydus thought wrong, and was quickly caught and brought back to Orre by the sailors. They didn't appreciate stowaways, no matter how super-powered.

Unfortunately, Cipher wanted his talents in blowing stuff up for their own efforts, and the Lab wanted that same talent as well. Clydus, adamantly refusing to join either side and get himself killed, and nly wanting the moeny to get on a boat, fled Pyrite Town for Gaeton Port, attempting to find a job for his talents, then fleeing again when Cipher started getting aggressive for their old HQ (before realizing it was a radioactive wasteland). He's traveled around Orre at this point, refusing to take a side and having killed both sides of the conflict. It never got easier to kill, though this has hardly stopped him from killing members of both sides of the conflict. He's currently residing in the Cipher Laboratory, alone as far as he knows, though is likely to leave soon.

Pokemon:

Caliox the Hippopotas: Caliox is Clydus'es Pokemon, a birthday gift when he was 14. Albeit the Sand it spewed in combat was annoying to Clydus, he treasured Caliox as anybody woudl treasure their first Pokemon. Caliox is a stern and loyal friend to Clydus, though is generally stubborn in the thought that Clydus should join that nice Organization fighting those nasty Shadow-making scum. Pokemon Cannot read, so he doesn't know names. For that matter, Caliox can't speak: He's mute.

Brutaeus the Blaziken: Clydus got really lucky in a lottery, as Brutaeus is shiny, and also sports the extremely rare (and prized) Speed Boost ability. As expected from such a prized and rare breed, Brutaeus is a prideful and sometimes cocky fighter, though oftentimes it's justifiably so. Brutaeus is Clydus'es go-to Pokemon in case of a straight-up fight, as even higher-ranking Brutes have difficulty surviving Brutaeus'es blows for long.

Shoroto the Skarmory: If Clydus needs to get anywhere fast, he picks Shoroto. An annoying buzzard he managed to flip off and subsequently capture, Shoroto is a steely-eyed killer, who has blind loyalty to her master. It's mixed attacks make it excellent air support, picking off threats from above while stopping the same from her opposition. Being one of the more durable flying types around helps immensely in keeping alive and keeping her master safe while he rides her.

Machina the Porygon-Z: After blowing up some Cipher a**holes and an electronics store they , Clydus took a PokeBall from the wreckage and found this inside. As expected for a machine, it's a highly analytical Pokemon, who occasionally points out the obvious. Due to his programming, he occasionally spazzes out into a more hyperactive persona who spews out gibberish at a fast rate, though this only appears in the material plane. Machina is an expert at hacking computers, though naturally most computers have blocks for Porygon-based hacking if they have any decent hack protection to begin with...Machina does not understand Pokemon language, though is completely ready to spew out spanish. Did I mention he only speaks spanish? The english-speaking Clydus is trying to find a way to fix that...

Etchelon the Duskinor: Found in the same pile of rubble Machina was, Etchelon is a highly impatient and easily irritated ghost that simply cannot sit still. Etchelon's ghostly abilities make him useful for stealth issues, if Etchelon can supress his urges.

Orcia the Dewgong: Orcia is a recent capture off the coast of Gaeton port. How a creature suited to colder climates got anywhere near Orre is Clydus'es guess, but he's not complaining. Orcia carves a niche as the team's oceanic explorer, going in one of the few environments that Shoroto is completely incompatible with, water. She's no slouch in combat, though, packing powerful Ice and Water type attacks. She's relatively mild and quiet.

Powers:

Trump: 10. Clydus'es best abilities come from the fact he can really screw with other powers. By using variations of what he describes as 'Null' or 'Amp' shots (denoted by Purple or Orange orbs of energy, respectively), Clyde can easily and almost totally reduce anyone's Paranormal abilities to nigh nonexistence, or amp them up to become triply potent-granted, such powerful shots drain him severely, so Clydus prefers to use these powers as more modest buffs or debuffs. He's noticed these shots have a reduced effect on Pokemon (25% effectiveness approximately), but still work on Pokemon, though he'd need powerful shots on them to make it work, making it mostly ineffective. On that note, Clydus also has an ability to copy powers for a brief while (denoted by a Green pulse of energy), which requires someone to hit and someone else to receive (menaing Clydus may not be the guy getting new powers), but that is a particularly exhausting shot and prone to wearing out quickly, at its strongest, 15 yards from Clydus. It also takes away the natural power-set of any parahuman until the shot's effects wear off. On the other hand, the guy who got hit will be devoid of all powers until the shot's effects wear off as well. As a note, whoever gets the powers does not get an instruction manual on how to use the new powers. All of these shots deteriorate in effect as time goes on (assuming a successful attack), and a fully-charged shot with half of Clydus'es energy reserves, which is his max for said blasts, lasts for 15 minutes. Aside from these pulses, he is also immune to any form of Trump that targets him...Any form he wants to be immune to, anyways. He can amplify other forms of Trump used against him as well, or even invert them if need be, nulls turning to buffs for instance. Don't try to Trump his Trump, you'll fail. Badly.

Blaster: 6. Aside from the previously mentioned Trump Powers, Clydus also has fairly effective Blasts. They are fairly powerful for a rank six, though the blasts are ONLY electricity-based. Clydus has three variants: A straight and direct bolt, very fast and very precise; a sphere of electrical energy that can be lobbed forward and explodes (he got inspiration from inFAMOUS here); or a very close range spread of electrical sparks, which is lethal against even the toughest of foes at point blank range and maybe a meter out, but rarely further. A fully-charged shot is 50% of his energy, but a shot that can reliably kill a standard human is around 7%. This gives him approximately 14 'bullets' to use. His energy reserves for moving and typical human function are unrelated to one another. A stronger shot means better results (fully charges bolts can be used as long-range Anti-Armor, fully-charged Grenades can decimate a building, and fully charged spreads are 2-meter cones of death), but in all honesty, he's better off with typical bullets, as recharging the energy to full takes 25 minutes-in case of long fights, this means he has to be picky as to how he uses this power. The energy he uses for these powers also includes his Trump Powers. The shots do have a slight homing effect, though do pewter out after a distance: The strongest bolt he can make does inefficient damage to kill at 120 meters, and the standard bolt cannot kill beyond 40 meters. Grenades don't pewter out (they explode long before then), but Clydus can't get past 25 meters with his throws of the Grenades at an optimal arc; grenade proximity is about 8 meters at max charge and 3 at typical. Spreads can't go further than 2 meters in a 45 degree cone ahead of him, and typical spreads are less than 1 meter.

Brute: 5. Clydus'es ability to bring hits is...Lacking, as far as Brute powers are concerned, though still fairly above human standards and capable of taking down Rank 1 and 2-strength brutes with reliable ease, punch through wooden doors, lift things his weight with ease...But he'd only be rank 2 himself for his offensive strength, had it not been for his utterly ridiculous defensive game. He's outright invulnerable to small arms fire, and he can take one point-blank Shotgun blast to the chest or a tank shell and remain conscious (Granted, two is too much for him to remain conscious for, and three is a guaranteed kill if they all hit the same location).

Death, for the Pokemon, are they limited to the basic 4 moves? I honestly prefer an unlimited movepool, but, this is your RP and I'm just merely curious. :D

I find the four move limit to be something that keeps the games fresh and interesting. I find them, however, to be arbitrary and very boooooooring in a story. Pokemon can use any moves on their Veekun page.

Tazz, Clydus looks pretty good. You'll need to bump him up to Trump 10 (because he really does essentially define Trumps), and knock him down to Brute 5 or 4. It won't change how tough he is, but the relative lack of strength would hurt his score.

Hey Death, I have one question about one of the powers a person may have and that is: Striker. Is this like, for instance, a Pokemon having Poison Touch, in which if they touch you they can do harm to you biologically/mentally? Is that what the power does or does it do something completely different than what I'm assuming?

Death's Spook
01-13-2014, 05:47 AM
The Striker classification covers any effect that takes place by physical contact or point blank range. If you have tactile telekinesis, that would be a Striker power. If you turn normal dogs into horrifying mutants on contact, that's a Striker power. If you can modify the biology of anything you touch, that's a Striker power.

Oh, yes. Narph, what would happen if a person who already got powers found himself in another Cluster? Would his/her own powers get shuffled up, or do they just get added to his/her own abilities?

Knowing you, you'll have a Cluster occur right when the action is boiling up at some critical point, which is why I'm asking. Don't try to deny it, you.

Once you're affected by a Cluster, further Clusters have about as much effect on you as the Nitrogen you breathe in. Probably less, since at least that Nitrogen provides air pressure so that you can take in oxygen.

*sigh* Might as well make it official, reserve for a neutral and a Cipher. Ophelia's almost done and will be posted/edited in soon, and Astrid...well, we'll see about her.

Name: Ophelia Chansler
Age: 20
Side: Neutral
Rank: That one girl among one hundred and seven that somehow got put in charge.
Gender: Female
Appearance: Ophelia is a stunning young lady, were it not for her...eccentricities, it's possible she'd catch the interest of numerous young men. She's of relatively average height, if a little short, with fair skin often marred by scratches and/or hidden by dirt. Almost unnaturally bright green eyes display her emotions like a book, and rarely ever fail to look innocent, framed by lower back length blonde hair that tends to look wavy at best and like a rat's nest at worst, at times wildly tangled and sporting twigs and leaves. Her bangs are held back in the form of a pair of small braids that are held together at the back of her head by a smaller ponytail holder, and they tend to be decorated with flowers, when she can find them.

For attire, one could definitely say that Ophelia doesn't really dress for conflict, as worn out jeans covered in dirt and grass stains that will probably never come out cover her legs, along with hiking boots to protect her feet. A similarly stained army green jacket hangs open over an earthy brown tank top covered in faint lighter brown flower patterns that have faded with age. She keeps all of her important items in a brown cloth backpack that she would protect with her life--particularly because of a specific stone inside of it.
Personality: Ophelia's personality is really...erratic at best. While she always seems to default to a softspoken, sweet individual, this is capable of changing at a moment's notice. Her "usual" sweet self tends to fall away to very quick, very loud bouts of anger, and occasionally erratic, jerky movements which she seems to second guess and stop before she can follow through with them. When alone, and rarely in front of others, Ophelia will have hushed conversations with herself, totally oblivious to the fact that it tends to make those who happen to be around her uncomfortable--namely because normal people just don't do that. Unless highly upset, or in one of her bouts of odd behavior, she tends to be very non-confrontational and is incredibly single-minded. One could say her determination to find her brother and boyfriend borders on obsessive, but even when faced with barriers, she tends to start off dealing with them with a small but determined "Please move," and goes from there...at which point if she <I>has</I> to go from there...worry, because that's when the sweet, softspoken girl get's kicked out of control and the very angry, violent attitude takes over, leaving some to wonder if she has MPD or Bipolar Disorder...or just plain anger issues. That being said, the girl loves flowers, if you need to calm her down, and despite being a bit...loopy, so to speak, she seems to know things one wouldn't expect her to know.
History:
Be forewarned that this is looooooooooooooooong.
Ophelia's childhood was a charmed, lovely thing, particularly compared to her later life. She grew up the youngest of two children in a high middle class family who moved to Gateon Port in Orre shortly after she was born. Her mother passed away when she was three, leaving behind her businessman husband and their two children--Ophelia and her older brother Lawrence. While their father was often away, Lawrence and Ophelia often took it upon themselves to enjoy their home town as best they could, and often played in the streets, where they met and befriended the son of their father's boss, a boy close to Lawrence's age named Hamilton. The three became great friends, the boys keeping up a friendly but sometimes harsh rivalry that kept little Ophelia on her toes, as she took on the role of soft spoken group peacemaker. As time passed, Ophelia grew quite attached to Hamilton, only further serving to deepen the rivalry between the boy and her brother... And then the world fell apart.

At age thirteen, Ophelia's world was flipped upside-down when she learned that while on a business trip to the Pokemon Lab, her father had been killed in a freak bombing incident. Her father left behind a large sum of money for her and Lawrence to survive on, but things just weren't the same. Hamilton and his family spent a good deal of time trying to help the children, and somewhere in that time, Ophelia's attachment to the childhood friend became more and they eventually began dating, even with more pressing matters at hand. However, both Hamilton and Lawrence later developed parahuman abilities in the Gateon Cluster and shortly after announced that they planned to use their abilities to help the Pokemon lab fight Cipher. They both agreed that in doing this, Ophelia was not to come with them, but to move to Agate Village where they felt she would be safer than she was living on her own in Gateon Port.

Ophelia did not argue against her brother and boyfriend, and took the move quietly, though she was sad to see the two go and leave her behind. There, she took up and interest in nature, and learned as much about the local plants from a kind elderly woman. Life went on and Ophelia continued missing Lawrence and Hamilton. She longed to go after them, but as she'd never been a very disobedient child or confrontational person, so she convinced herself to wait for them until they came back...only months, then years passed and the conflict continued on. Ophelia became increasingly restless, and eventually made up her mind after three years--she was going to go to find her brother and boyfriend. Of course, crossing one of Agate Village's many wooden bridges on her way to the dock, the planks gave, sending her into surprisingly cold and deep water, carrying her off the end of a small waterfall into the deeper water surrounding the village. Several men saw the incident and rushed to her aid, but she'd already managed to inhale a decent amount of water in surprise and...well, pretty much died, not that they knew that. Once back on the dock, the men proceeded to attempt CPR to save her, which they thought were made in vain. Moments after they had given up, the girl abruptly sat up and started coughing up water. Unfortunately, after that, the Ophelia the village had known disappeared, replaced by an almost schizophrenic sounding girl whose sweet disposition and actions became erratic and occasionally angry or violent. One thing, however, did not change--Ophelia was now more determined than ever to find Lawrence and Hamilton, and though the villagers tried to urge her to stay there where she would be safe, the girl insisted. While the villagers still worry about her, most will admit they were somewhat glad to see post-accident Ophelia go.
Pokemon:
Titan the male Golurk
Hydrangea the (blue) female Florges
Marshmallow the female Sliggoo
Gilligan the male Marshtomp
Willow the female Lampent
Spiritomb (which you'll rarely see, and Ophelia refuses to state its gender, as it contains both male and female spirits, as well as refuses to name it for the same reason)

Powers:
Trump (Lvl: ?)- It's highly suspected Ophelia is a high-level Trump, as she appears to be almost entirely immune to any kind of ability relating to the mind, be it mental manipulation or something as basic as mind-reading or two-way telepathy. Psychic Pokemon are known to vacate areas as she nears, hurriedly forcing their trainers away from her, as do most parahumans with abilities allowing them to pick up thoughts. Her true ability as a Trump, however, remains untested because of the girl's constant journeying and lack of interest in anyone other than those she's seeking out.
Thinker (Lvl: ?)- Ophelia occasionally displays the ability to come to conclusions relating to certain fields incredibly quickly, suggesting she's a moderate to high level thinker, but her true ability as such again remains untested.
Other: Legend has it that Spiritomb is composed of 108 spirits bound to an odd keystone. Ophelia was unlucky number 108...and though she managed to come back to life, it didn't break her connection to the Pokemon. The Spiritomb she refuses to use in battle, name, or really do anything with...that's the Spiritomb she's connected to. Her talking to herself and erratic behavior, as well as her seemingly parahuman abilities are all due to the other 107 spirits that form the Spiritomb as well--she does not, in fact, have parahuman abilities at all.

Name: Astrid
Age: 25
Side: Cipher
Rank: (First and foremost) Executive of the wills of Me, Myself, and I, (Secondly) Head of Cipher's Parahuman Recruitment Division
Gender: Female
Appearance: Overall, Astrid isn't physically someone who stands out, though her choice of outfit might. Standing in at 5' 9" without the added height of the mid-rise high heels she can often be found wearing (which brings her up to a little under 6'), her height is probably the only thing about her that really stands out. Board-stright hair the color of milk chocolate falls just past her shoulderblades when down, and is often pulled into a neat ponytail or DIY bun, and her stern hazel eyes are always interrupted by a pair of black wire frame glasses. Her wardrobe is almost entirely composed of professional clothing--a neutral monochrome wall of pencil skirts and button-ups with vests and blazers to match, and she can look much the same from day to day, and she is almost never seen without a pair of medium rise black pump heels on her feet, though in a dire enough situation, she will take them off a club anyone who gets too close. Her blazers are loaded with inner pockets, which she uses to hide...pretty much everything, including most of her anti-parahuman equipment, within easy reach...not that she typically needs it. She spends most of her time in the Cipher base rather than in the field.
Personality: Astrid, to state it simply, is pretty much uninterested in the welfare of anyone but herself. Were she still working in an office, she'd be the one the boss asked to inform people when they were fired because she doesn't care if you perceive her as the "bad guy" or anything else other than where she stands after she tells you you've lost your standing room. Yes, she is ruthless, and for an unpowered human, she's incredibly intelligent and terrifying. She didn't get to her current position by sucking up, no, she got there by getting results and continuing to get results achieved with a silver tongue that can often uses "logic" well enough to break down most people who aren't thinkers or incredibly stubborn and an unsettling combination of mannerisms that are often deemed "cute" or "charming". The fact she doesn't flinch at power usage or threats, as well as her handling of her division speaks for itself, and displays that most of the time Astrid is about as emotionally responsive as an ice block. She's cold and calculating at heart, and always has at least one backup plan for everything she can think of, plus plans and/or "toys" for a few situations she doesn't quite foresee so much as she thinks have a good possibility of happening.
History: Astrid was born to and raised by an accountant father and secretary mother, both of whom were hardcore businesspeople and expected their daughter to become much the same. Much to their delight, she did--Astrid practically grew up in her mother's office doing whatever simple tasks her mother had her do. The girl had filing down by age six, and had become a miniature adult by the age of nine. Her parents raised her to believe that business was business, and you had to be ruthless to make it, and Astrid took the ideals they taught her to heart...possibly a little too seriously. In school, she excelled at, well, most things, to be entirely honest. It was clear she was incredibly intelligent by normal standards, picking up on lessons quickly and following the teachings of those lessons to a "t." Before parahumans existed, she was considered gifted, a rarity by normal human standards, and her intelligence only grew as she got older.

And then the world went insane. Astrid had turned eighteen shortly after the bombing incident at the Pokemon lab, and she and her parents watched as people began gaining powers the defied logic, and they learned to adapt. Astrid began learning how to use her own above-average wit to her advantage against people that were much, much more powerful than her, while her parents tried to continue on as though nothing was wrong in the first place. Of course that was when a disgruntled employee who had gained parahuman abilities as a Tinker decided to take revenge on their former employer and blow up their office--the office Astrid's parents worked in. She had just been hired on as an office assistant herself, and happened to be heading into the office when another employee came tearing out of the building screaming something about evacuation and dragged her backwards, away from the entrance moments before the building exploded. A Tinker himself, he'd recognized the bomb for what it was, and had tried to warn those in the building, but very few made it out in time...and Astrid's parents weren't among them. While she had been taught to be ruthless, Astrid wasn't totally inhuman, and though she refused to let it show, the loss hurt her. She'd lost her parents, her job, and what had been her future all in a moment, and all she got in exchange was the man who saved her. That man was, again, a Tinker, and his name was Simon. As a child, he'd been a mail room worker who insisted on trying to teach her the concept of "fun," much to her parents' annoyance, and risen through the ranks of the company--shot through them after he developed his abilities as a Tinker, yet continually tried to make Astrid more "human" than her parents had raised her to be.

In the ensuing chaos, Simon gave her a place to stay since, though she'd never admit it, Astrid didn't want to live alone. At least, not that suddenly. She eventually found a job with another company, but Astrid found that it just wasn't the same as it had been when her parents were still alive. She found herself learning from Simon how to tell if a Tinker had messed with certain things, as well as how to use the devices he made to protect herself. The world wasn't safe anymore--at least not as safe as it had been, and she found herself figuring out how to apply her parents ideals to this new world. At twenty-one, she decided she was going to join Cipher when she learned they were recruiting Parahumans through...less tasteful methods. That, she knew she could apply her then well-developed silver tongue and ruthlessness to, and she did quite well, shooting through the ranks over the years to become the head of parahuman, much to Simon's disappointment. Oddly enough, however, despite her professionalism Astrid has never explained Simon in detail to anyone. Her coworkers know she carries Tinker technology on her, but she refuses to give up the name of the Tinker or how to find him. Simon himself is a solid neutral, and prefers to stay holed up in his miniature fortress of a home, allowing very few through his front door, one of those few being Astrid, as he still designs protective technology for her. The two share a slightly strained almost familial yet not quite relationship with each other these days, Simon continuing to do his own thing while Astrid does her own these days.

Pokemon:
Prim, the female Meowstic
Moby, the male Dewgong
Boss, the male Pangoro
Ciel, the male Ferrothorn
Zip, the female Zebstrika
Rocky, the male Rhydon

Powers: She's got none. She does however pack numerous devices made by a Tinker whose specialty lies in energy redirection and amplification. Most of her devices pack a large punch, but are only capable of being operational for seconds at a time, and require careful aim and/or timing to work properly. One such case is Astrid's most commonly used "toys," which essentially acts like a wireless taser that's been amped up a few notches. It fires off a single high powered electric charge at a time, has a cool down period of a few minutes before she can use it again, though if she needs to wait that long, she's screwed. It typically shorts out a person's motor skills for a few seconds, in which time she's likely disarmed her target and used whatever she's been given to restrain them.
Other: Steal the moon? Why would I want to do that? I'll drop the freakin' moon!
Also, given Astrid's inspiration and personality, I find that Game Over (http://www.animelyrics.com/game/subarashiki/gameover.htm) (just lyrics linked) would be a very appropriate theme for her.

Reserve.

Oh. One last thing I didn't mention. In this RP, Pokemon language is exactly like regular language, and learnable in the exact same way. Because so many people in Orre depend on their Pokemon to survive moment to moment, understanding Pokemon is the norm, not the exception.

I know Narph well enough to tell you, quite frankly, that the answer is probably going to be yes, yes, yes, a thousand times YES! I would make one of your powers heavily defense-oriented to combat these chances.

Reserve a second character for me, Narph. This tiem, I'm going into the Organization.

Reserved. Yes. Lots. To paraphrase a friend of mine, for example, the end result to "I use a Thunderbolt that could rattle Kyogre's teeth on Scyther" is not "Scyther got KOed", it's "The resulting greasy spot is far less insolent than it was a second ago."

Question:
How do Pokemon's abilities work in this RP? Are they born with all available abilities or just one out of the few they can have (depending on the Pokemon of course)? I just like to put small details on everything I do - especially on my Pokemon in a Pokemon-related RP, sorry. :P

It's quite alright. I totally understand. Abilities are one per pokemon. So, if Benjamin's Azumarill can arm wrestle Groudon (Huge Power), she isn't going to be able to absorb Grass Type moves (Sap Sipper) or resist heat and cold anymore than she already does (Thick Fat).

Name: (STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS) Harold 'Ditto' Jackson
Age: 30
Side: Organization/Lab
Rank: Gamma Recon Squad Leader
Gender: Male

Appearance: Harold Jackson is, in his true form, relatively scrawny and lacking in true brawn. He has a fairly large nose, brown beady eyes, and scruffy curled hair that's always got sand in it due to desert recon missions. However, due to his Changer powers, that is rarely what people see: He often experiments with different types and sizes of human bodies, or more extreme variations of his form, almost all the time, so it's rare to see him as he once was. He disliked how he looked back then anyways, in fact, so he'll only do it for instances when he needs to be identified as himself.

He's typically decked out in army-style desert camo, as would be expected of the kind of person who typically winds up having to scout out desert terrain for enemy camps. He has a lot of pockets on his camo suit: he can't REALLY be expected to carry around a profile-increasing backpack, after all. They're shoved to the brim with whatever he could possibly need. The pockets hold his PokeBalls, his survival knife, his emergency flare gun and pistol, and the ammo for his primary weapon of death, the Sniper Rifle, which is slung on his back.

Personality: Harold Jackson is a typical nice guy: He's fairly kind and caring towards his comrades in most situations. However, like any surviving member of the populace in Orre, he is also incredibly kicka**, and killing his friends is an EXCELLENT way to get yourself killed. He also has few qualms with death in general-though he doesn't like seeing his friends go, he can show a surprising lack of empathy when dealing with enemies.

It's also a bad idea to kill children, as Harold has a particular fondness for younger children. He plays with them with his Pokemon and his Changer powers. He is, in turn, fairly popular among kids and parents despite his freaky powers of freakyiness.

It's a GOOD idea to get Harold as a cook: It's his second passion after being a spy/recon, and he's d**m good at showing it. You will be treated to a good meal. He worked at restaurants for a fairly good reason, after all. He doesn't really care for the scientific aspects of the Organization...Except where cooking/spying is concerned.

On his stance in the war, he says he's joined the Organization because of the death of his former employer-a really nice man-and his new powers giving him the opportunity to not be bullet fodder. He's definitely hoping the war ends as soon as possible, so he can return home and show his parents how their son grew up to be a great man.

History: Harold Jackson was born and raised in the prosperous Black City in Unova. Since a young age, he had been a mischievous and sneaky boy, typically found hiding in the bushes and spying in other people's business. He never did anything illegal (aside from trespassing), but became somewhat infamous for it. He quickly decided to make it a hobby as his teenage years started going into swing, with a closet packed with camo clothing and makeshift 'spy' gear. It quickly progressed to the point where he started abandoning his grades for it...Which his parents, however lenient on the whole 'spy' thing, didn't appreciate. They confiscated his 'spy stuff' until his grades bounced back up.

Quite frankly, Harold didn't care for any fancy mathematics-he was already literate and knew all the math he would likely need, and if he didn't, he could learn it when he wanted to, not when some fancy-pants school told him too. Same with literature and history, he learned it all already! OK, maybe not, but he could figure it out when he needed to! Using his well-trained sneakiness, he picked the lock, got back his stuff, and ran away from home. He was about 16 when he did this. Maybe he was too old for caring about his spy stuff, or that he really should have worried about his grades more, but he didn't care: he wanted to do it. There were JOBS based around this kind of stuff, after all. So he managed to successfully stowaway on board a ship. He didn't realize the ship was inbound for Orre, of all places to go.

Once he arrived...Well, reality kicked in harsh. He managed a small-time job at a local fast-foods restaurant, and later a Ruby Tuesdays when his ability to cook increased after a little while, for at least several years. It was brutal and harsh, a new kind of reality he wasn't ready for, at least not immediately. If it wasn't for the relatively nice nature of the man managing the Ruby Tuesdays (and a lack of employees), he'd be starving in Orre, the last place anyone would want to be starving in. He got several letters from his parents, begging him to go home, but he would simply not have it-he was making money, proving he was useful even without a High school degree. In fact, he was well-recieved by the manager of the Ruby Tuesdays, and given several pay raises over the course of his tenure there...

...Then Cipher came back. He was 20 when it happened. Knowing that Gaeton port was on the front-lines of the battle (then), he fled, sensibly, to Agate town, where he got a similar job at a local TGIfriday's. He heard word that his old manager had been assassinated, presumably by a Cipher agent, which he took an instant dislike towards divulging in his stealth interests in occasional tests of stealth that the town grew accustomed to. It was (relatively) peaceful.

Then word came of the first Cluster. Pyrite town in total chaos, suddenly dealing with superhumans. It intrigued and frightened him at the same time. Pokemon and bullets were deadly enough, now he had to look out for mutants straight out of X-Men?! Now, though, he didn't have a hope in the world of leaving-he made enough salary to live, but definitely not enough to get home until his parents were dead. More worried letters came, though he answered them calmly and sensibly. For three more years, he worked quietly, having the Organization keep watch over the townspeople, and growing a steady interest. Perhaps his talents could be of use?

Then the second cluster came. The Organization, now prepared for an event like it, managed to keep calm in the city, even as some people realized they could fly, or in Harold's case, completely change his own appearance. It was simultaneously shocking, frightening, and exhilarating, pure bliss with pure terror, ecstasy with fear. It was beyond him, but he quickly put his own spy crud on hold to turn his new powers into something incredible, something he could use in whatever he did. Unsuprisingly, due to his sneakiness and his 'changer' powers, he signed on to be a recruit for a reconnaissance group. Parahuman abilities aside, he knew he could be useful in gathering information and all that jazz-that's what he's been doing almost all of the time, right?

Right.

Albeit his training was good and he was ultimately a good recon man, his first mission with his squad ultimately suffered a near-lethal failure, with Cipher catching on to his team's location and decimating every last one. Harold still doesn't know what happened then, but came back bloody and somewhat broken. It took a year or so to recover and get him back in the field and back in the game. He got into a few, more successful missions as the years went by, including one that allowed the Organization to (briefly) take over Pyrite town and gain the edge, an edge that was quickly lost a week later. Nevertheless, his info-gathering skills were finally recognized, and he became the head of one of the recon teams.

He's currently in friendly territory in Agate town, still studying.

Pokemon:

Cartesian the Probopass: Harold's first Pokemon, a blindly loyal devotee to him in all he does. Harold uses him as a defensive wall that none shall go past, in case he needs anything like that. Harold got him as a 10th birthday present. Aside from his loyalty, he's a calm and collected head in troubled waters.

Boquet the Shiny Roserade: Harold has filthy luck. The first Shiny he ever found (and the only one he met in Unova), Boquet is a devious b**ch who would gladly destroy the world and ascend to godhood if given the slightest chance. She's joined with Harold to give herself a better chance at that, for the record. Harold Jackson has not let her get even a slight hint of a chance thus far, but she's still on the lookout a rare Roserade with Psychic and Fae powers helps her 'ambitions', though she herself is mute. Harold is still training Boquet to be combat ready.

Truxican the Hitmontop: The first Pokemon he found in Orre, Truxican is a ruthless fighter who appreciates Harold for taking him into his care as a Tyrouge, and appreciates him DEARLY at that. He's the guy that Harold gets in case he wants a hole torn in something and he can't do it.

Phariah the Shiny Excadrill: Again, Harold has filthy luck. The second Shiny he's ever encountered, Harold states he found him while walking around in Gaeton Port, as he dug up from a sewer pipe. Phariah is a hopeless lover smitten by anything, especially other Excadrill of the opposite gender. His ability to GET at said gender opposites is...Lacking.

Critius the Shiny Luxray: HAROLD HAS FILTHY F***ING LUCK. The THIRD Shiny he's ever encountered, Critius was a random lost Pokemon that Harold found in Gaeton Port, and like Truxican, Harold took her in. Yes, Her. Her ability to sneak and see through walls is a much-appreciated power for Harold, considering his profession.

Harold does not have a sixth Pokemon. He's looking for one to fill his team, though. A full six-pack is the best kind.

Powers:

Changer: 9. This man's primary trick is that he can change into almost any form he wants, very quickly at that, but must obey conservation of mass laws. He can copy anything given the time, think up of defensive mechanisms (like growing metal or spikes or wings), assuming appropriate biomass, and in short, don almost any form imaginable. Almost, as he's restricted by biomass. He can split off biomass in case he legitimately needs to become smaller/lighter/whatever, and must rejoin with it later if he wants to get bigger. Conversely, if he wants to be a larger form, he must absorb biomass in order to get conservation of mass working with him, but ONLY the biomass of RECENTLY deceased sentients-People or Pokemon who are dead for less than 1 minute (biomass he's absorbed previously doesn't count). Biological but non-sentient, living sentients, or non-biological substances, cannot be absorbed. As a note, NO, he does not gain forms by 'eating' these recently deceased ones. He has to recall any form he may take from scratch no matter what, and absorbing the body doesn't help. The reason why he's a 9 and not a 10 is because he lacks a way to just directly ignore the conservation of mass laws and transform into whatever he wants, henceforth limiting him, and must alter biomass to take larger/smaller forms.

Trump: 4. Harold can change into nearly-perfect physical copies of another being with enough time, but interestingly, like a Ditto (hence the nickname), if Harold comes across a Pokemon and copies parts or all of its biology, he gains access to moves and abilities that Pokemon may have that correspond to said biology-and he can use any move the Pokemon can have if he dons the complete form. He cannot copy Parahuman powers, for reasons that are still unexplained.

Stranger: 7. Harold can don the forms of others, assuming he knows what they looks like. Having a model to base it off of is best for this kind of thing. He may not be able to completely get it, but he can come incredibly close, and what he can't get right he can hide under clothes.

Other: (NARPH SOMEONE STOLE MY MOON!!!) Any reminders to Prototype are coincidental.

Two things. One, are Dream World abilities kosher; two, can you let us know a date for this in advance? I know myself and I know I'll be very cross if I end up having to wade through a sea of posts at the start of this.

Ohh, I would like to know about the Dream World abilities as well. I gave some of my Pokemon their special abilities without asking if it was alright or not. :o

Death's Spook? I wanted to get your opinion on a character with the ability to change pokemon into shadow pokemon. Does this sound ok or should i scrap that idea?

DW is kosher. Otherwise, Tazz/Popshakes would have already gotten yelled at. And I don't have an exact date. I'll announce it a couple days before I actually start it, though.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned or not, but, are powers able to develop and grow further throughout the RP? I was thinking of having one of my characters start out with very low strength power-wise but then s/he develops it further throughout the course of the RP.

The powers themselves would be constant. But I'd be perfectly fine with the /applications/ of the powers growing. For example, let's say your power is to control bugs. Although that couldn't change, I'd be perfectly fine if, for example, you acquired some black widows or brown recluses to really hurt your opponents.

Alright, how about if, say, someone controlled the power of wind and was able to stir it up whenever they pleased. However, through the course of the RP they trained and applied themselves to learn to control stronger wind currents and have formed it into tornados now (same wind current as before, just stronger in the sense they've trained themselves to produce something different).

For example:
Karly was in a cluster and gained the strange ability to shape and move the wind at her will. Although her power level may stay constant, let's say 7, she's unsure of her own abilities. As she grows throughout the RP she finds that she can form and control her powers to shape a stronger and much more powerful wind force - a tornado. She isn't gaining new powers, just developing her already current abilities.

Is that fine, or is that a no-no?

I think everything here is good, at least to me.

Name: Thomas Otone.

Age: Twenty-five.

Side: Organization.

Rank: Organization Leader.

Gender: Male.

Appearance: Standing at a meager 5’6” with a slim frame, Thomas doesn’t look like much of a physical threat. His skin, though naturally pale, is tan from time spent in the harsh Orre sun, and sparring with his Pokemon has given him greater muscle tone as well. Despite his physical fitness, he still has a rather childish face, although stress is quickly wiping this away and replacing it with a consistent expression of weary sadness. His longish hair is dirty blond, and his eyes are green. Typically, he dresses in a light jacket, a light shirt, and cargo pants; the latter, as well as the light shoulder bag he carries, are typically full of emergency supplies and pointy objects.

Personality: Shy, quiet Thomas is the sort of guy you’d expect to find sitting in the back of the bus with a book in his hand - not at the helm of one of the most powerful organized militant groups in history. By nature, he tends to be reserved and not particularly wordy, giving him a rather melancholy air. Despite his lack of initiative to initiate, he is actually quite friendly and kind when spoken to. He is very sensitive, empathetic, and caring, and is generally an excellent friend.

However, Thomas’s softspoken nature cuts both ways. He is given to reluctance, inaction, moodiness, and pessimism, and he prefers to keep his true feelings to himself most of the time which often makes him stressed. Although he is capable of leading, he detests the responsibility for lives and the politics involved. He also has a cold, manipulative side that he sometimes calls upon when dealing with others, despite the fact that it terrifies him. Overall, he is (or at the very least, tries to be) a good person, although his position has led him to make some decisions that he questions himself about frequently.

History: Thomas was born and raised in quiet Nuvema town. His mother removed herself from the family when he was four years old, leaving his lame-legged geologist father devastated and struggling to find work in a region that frankly had little use for geology. Regardless, Thomas managed to do fairly well for himself in school - well enough to qualify with his best friend for Unova’s Pokemon Trainer program. While they were on the waiting list, Thomas’s dad announced that he had found work - in the far-off, inhospitable region of Orre. Since Thomas was unwilling to leave his father to fend for himself with a dysfunctional leg in a region famed mostly for its crime rates, he went along. Before he did so, however, he swapped starters with his friend - his Tepig for her Snivy - so that they would have something to remember each other by.

Orre was the last place Thomas wanted to be, but he tried to make the best of the situation. He worked as a cleaner in the lab, and used the opportunity to learn what he could in the hopes of possibly getting a higher-paying job as a researcher. So eager to please was Thomas that, whenever the lab needed to pick up supplies from Pyrite Town, he was more often than not the one to make the long trip to the seedy city. These journeys were so routine, Thomas never thought anything of them - least of all that he would wind up having been in a Cluster. In fact, he might not have known at all, but when he was ambushed by a group of thugs and scrambling to get away, he suddenly found himself floating ten feet off the ground. Since the incident, Thomas has been doing everything he can to stop Cipher, most notably allying with Sara Sage to create the Organization and, at her insistence, becoming its leader. Currently, he protects the Lab and aids Sara in coordinating their considerable force of parahumans.

Pokemon:
- Serperior - Darius/M/Overgrow/Adamant/Somewhat vain. “Strong, silent type” would probably be an adequate descriptor for Darius, provided you added “pragmatic, merciless, backbone-of-tempered-steel” somewhere in there. The Serperior rarely says a word, preferring to let his actions speak for him, and those actions are usually violent. He is easily the most brutal member of the team, who considers killing to be acceptable and frequently efficient. In spite of his grim nature, he is a reliable teammate who can always be called upon in any fight.
- Audino - Alto/F/Regenerator/Sassy/Quick tempered. Alto is among the first people you want by your side in a firefight, for both her considerable healing abilities and her moderately powerful attacks, particularly those that work at a distance. Otherwise, she can be a bit difficult to tolerate. She is loud, crass, and impatient, with a short temper and stubbornness that rivals that of Darius himself. However, despite her less-desirable traits, she can be extremely helpful with healing and (often tactlessly-delivered) advice.
- Luxray - Alana/F/Intimidate/Brave/Good perseverance. Alana has a naturally intimidating appearance, and her prowess and ferocity in battle backs it up. However, Alana is actually a real sweetheart. She loves cuddles (particularly with a certain Fairy-type team member) and sweet foods. She also has a tendency to be rather hyperactive at times, and is almost always a determined, upbeat go-getter.
- Sylveon - Eran/M/Pixelate/Calm/Highly curious. Granted that the team healer is cranky and irritable, it generally falls on Eran to be the team peacemaker - a role he doesn’t really mind. Eran is slow to anger and quick to forgive, with a soothing, serene air that allows him to smooth ruffled tempers with ease. So loving and gentle is he that it’s hard to believe that this same softspoken Sylveon has a Moonblast that can punch holes in Aggron armor.
- Lucario - Hecate/F/Steadfast/Quiet/Alert to sounds. Hecate, in a word, is grounded. She is firm, collected, resolute, and not given to much talking. She often seems to be the most (if not the only) sane team member, a reputation upheld by her patient temper and realistic, practical outlook. She is by nature a thinker, and likes to help out by strategizing or helping the others increase their own strengths.
- Gyarados - Torrent/M/Moxie/Impish/Somewhat of a clown. Torrent is as loud as Alto but a lot less easy to anger, if not easier to tolerate. He frequently cracks jokes that may or may not be appropriate or tactful, and acts completely carefree and unbothered by the Cipher war. However, a lot of his act is just that - an act, designed to help team morale and hide his own fear. In battle, he’s a brutal hard-hitter, and he often teams up with Alto - with whom he claims mutual dislike - and combines his reckless physical power with her healing abilities and good aim.

Powers:
- Breaker 9: Gravity manipulation. He can use this for a lot of things, such as flight, lifting objects and dropping them at around quintuple their usual weight on bad guys, or making himself seriously hard to hit by repelling things that may be moving toward him at uncomfortable speeds.
- Mover 6: Gravity manipulation enables floating and, with a good deal more concentration, flight. When flying, he typically clocks about 30 mph, although he can go faster with more effort.
- Shaker 6: Again, gravity manipulation. This ability can be both specific to an object(s) or general to an area, although general use is more taxing.

Other: nar i know something even funnier than twenty-four

Name: Cassandra Fitz.

Age: Thirty.

Side: Cipher.

Rank: Cipher Admin.

Gender: Female.

Appearance: Cassandra is built for beauty. She stands at 5’7” with naturally deep curves that are ever so slightly contrasted by good muscle tone. Her skin is a dark ochre color, and her deep brown hair falls in sleek waves to just below her shoulders. Delicately-mascaraed eyelashes punctuate her shimmering, warm pale-brown eyes. Typically, she dresses in casually tasteful clothes that leave only a little to the imagination, although for proper missions she tends to make other choices that include things like desert camo, combat boots, and about a dozen concealed-and-unconcealed weapons.

Personality: Whenever someone looks at Cassandra, they might expect her to be a somewhat high-strung woman with more vanity than brains. Someone else might see her soft, pretty features and suspect her to be a gentle, shy soul with a heart of gold. Still others might expect her to be a weak-willed and whiny hanger-on with little desire to do anything but pick on others in order to exalt herself. The truth is that all and none of these assumptions are correct - none of them are entirely accurate, but these are all masks she wears and wears well.

Truthfully, Cassandra is a ruthless, intelligent, cunning, and wicked woman. Her powers make it difficult for her to enjoy others’ pain, but she certainly doesn’t mind it and would happily beat down, murder, or manipulate anyone who stands between herself and power. She doesn’t mind taking orders from someone competent, although she considers this a necessary annoyance and typically prefers to be in charge herself. However, it’s rare to see her ever display any of her true sentiments; she prefers to display whatever will be most beneficial to her at the time, and even without using her powers she is usually capable of wrapping her unsuspecting victims around her little finger.

History: Born to a lower-class family in Orre, Cassandra had little to look forward to in life. However, she was also endowed with intelligence, looks, and a remarkable talent - and penchant - for manipulation. From an early age, she endeared herself to everyone around her, using her adorable looks to get what she wanted. At first this included things like cookies and crayons, but she soon graduated to full-fledged theft when at the age of sixteen she seduced a hapless Pokemon Trainer for the express purpose of stealing his brand-new Chikorita.

Not long after Cassandra left home for Pyrite town, she woke up one morning and realized that she could very clearly feel the emotions of every living thing around her. This was disconcerting in the extreme but she made it work, and with practice she was elated to discover that she could change the emotions of those she touched. Her new talent worked extremely well when coordinated with her beauty, giving rise to a habit of seducing men in order to get them alone and rob them blind. She would probably have continued doing this for the foreseeable future had she not been found by a strange man with pink clothes and a sadistic Hoppip. Benjamin offered her a place in Cipher and power in a new Orre, which she accepted. Having risen through the ranks to become one of Benjamin’s most powerful lieutenants, Cassandra now uses her charm and savagery in equal measure to undermine the Organization.

Pokemon:
- Meganium - Concordia/F/Overgrow/Gentle/Likes to relax. As Cassandra’s first Pokemon, Concordia has an extremely strong bond with her Trainer. Such a kind comforter is she to Cassandra that it’s hard to believe that this gentle giant can and has been known to snap necks with Vine Whip and turn living things into Swiss cheese with Magical Leaf. Concordia is fiercely loyal to Cassandra and will kill for her without hesitation. However, the Meganium is also the most merciful of the team, preferring to resolve conflicts bloodlessly when it wouldn’t be too great an inconvenience.
- Magmortar (Shadow) - Kenna/F/Flame Body/Jolly/A little quick-tempered. Kenna is a loud, obnoxious, boisterous and crabby Magmortar. She’s also tough as nails, brutally savage, and an expert marksman. She is one of the most versatile team members, attacking from a distance with precision or letting loose with a violent string of attacks up close. She is quite violent naturally, however, and will often cut to fiery violence when her relatively short temper has been triggered.
- Mienshao (Shadow) - Solomon/M/Regenerator/Serious/Likes to fight. Solomon doesn’t say much, and whenever he does speak he does so with cold contempt and bitterness. True to his nature as a Shadow Pokemon, he hates practically everyone and does not hesitate to voice this fact - or rather, display it through his uncanny ability to break bones like they’re made of cardboard. Despite his violent tendencies, Solomon is actually extremely composed, and rare is the day when he is goaded into action he would not otherwise take.
- Malamar - Maeve/F/Contrary/Quirky/Likes to eat. Maeve is, to say the very least, eccentric. She has no qualms about bending other beings to her will, forcing them to take or give lives for her - in fact, she sees absolutely nothing wrong with it. She doesn't seem to have any sort of conscience at all, and would be quite happy to snap even her own Trainer's neck.
- Mismagius - Vadim/M/Levitate/Relaxed/Proud of its power. Vadim is extremely intelligent, if a bit absentminded. He prefers to let others do the full-on fighting while he masterminds the fight from the sidelines, but if pressed he has an immense amount of magical power that he positively loves to show off. Most of the time he would rather hone and experiment with his magic than anything else, be it through research or open combat.

Powers:
- Thinker 4: Always retains a knowledge of the general mood of the people around her, and with greater concentration can single out a person or persons to read all their current emotions.
- Striker 3: Upon skin-to-skin contact with a person or Pokemon, she can form a mental link with them, through which she can see their emotions. Since her Thinker power already allows her to sense others’ emotions and sharing her own would reveal more than she’d like, this really wouldn’t be very practical if it weren’t for her Master power.
- Master 8: Once her Striker power is activated, Cassandra can alter the emotions of whatever unfortunate soul is on the other end, provided they aren’t Trumpish enough to thwart her. She’s learned to be frighteningly subtle about it, but someone with an extreme (read: it basically has to be a power) amount of mental fortitude or corresponding psychic ability can sometimes avert her ability without breaking physical contact. This can only really be done if they notice it, provided they are not already somehow immune to emotional manipulation. Given time to use this ability on someone repeatedly, she can completely bend them to her will.

Other: Her real power is the uncanny ability to aliterate.

I used every ounce of my small amount of writing skill to write this, i hope that's good enough.

EDIT: My ATTEMPT at improving the characters. I haven't done THAT much, but I tried (It took me an hour to make these changes, even though the changes aren't that significant). If this isn't good enough, I may just give up.

Name: Jacob Dean
Age: 17
Side: The Lab
Rank: Not very high
Gender: Male
Appearance: Jacob is about 6 feet tall. He is reasonably thin. He is fairly light skinned. His hair is a light brown and straight, and his eyes are pale blue. His usual attire consists of T-shirts and shorts, though sometimes he will wear jeans. His shirts are almost always either blue, green, or camo, and his pants are all black and grey (Other than his jeans). He carries a small backpack.

Personality: Jacob is a kind hearted person. He is always trying to help people. He is not an angry person, and tends to be able to stay calm. He is fairly intelligent. Though it is easy to make him laugh, he is terrible at telling jokes, and will rarely even attempt to make others laugh.

Having minimal social skills, Jacob is not very good at making friends. He also does not have many friends. He hasn’t communicated with any of the few friends he had left in a long time. He doesn’t usually talk too much, preffering to allow others do the talking for him. The only way he easily becomes nervous is when he talks to people he doesn’t know. Though he mostly has recovered since his families death, he still has frequent nightmares, and can be easily angered by certain things. His favorite type of Pokemon is fighting and his favorite color is blue.

History: Jacob was born in Phenac City. Growing up, he was very close to his brother, Jayden, as he did not have very many friends. He worked hard and generally managed to stay out of trouble, unlike his brother, who would always be getting in trouble.

When the clusters began forming, Jacob was affected. He began talking to his family less and less. And then Ciphers takeover of the city began. Jacob was running, trying to escape the city. He was just barely able to escape without getting caught, but the rest of his family had been killed. He eventually found his way to join the lab and fight Cipher.

Pokemon:
Blaze the Charizard: Blaze has been with Jacob since he was just a Charmander. he has grown more and more powerful in this time, and with his ability, Blaze, he becomes even stronger as he takes damage. He is very close to Jacob.

Ruby the Riolu: While still a basic pokemon, Ruby is reasonably strong. She has been with Jacob for a while. She acts tough, though usually tougher than she really is. Her ability is inner focus.

Aqua the Piplup: The newest addition to Jacobs team, Aqua is inexperienced in combat. She is calm and caring.

Powers:

Blaster level 10: Jacob is capable of firing bolts of static and electricity. These bolts do not do very much damage, but have another devistating effect. They can temporarily shut down parts of an opponents nervous system. This will prevent them from moving. while generally only affecting the limb struck, if a strong bolt hits the torso of an enemy, it will either partially or fully paralyse the foes entire body. If the heart is struck with a strong bolt, it can stop it. If the head is struck with a strong enough bolt, it can shut down the opponents entire body, which will lead to the foe dying if medical attention is not given.
Other: Alright then. I will just steal the sun.

Name: David Woods
Age: 27
Side: Cipher
Rank: If ranks went from 1 to 10, he would be rank 5. I don’t know what the exact ranks would be so im just going to say that.
Gender: Male
Appearance: David is just over 6 feet tall. He is not particularly big but not particularly small either. His skin is fairly tan, and his eyes are brown. His dark brown hair is long and straight. He has a very visible scar across his forehead from a knife.

He almost always wears black shirts, though sometimes he will wear grey. He only wears jeans and black pants. He wears black boots. He carries a small black pack that he wears around his waist.

Personality: David is not a nice person. He is a truly mean person. The kind of person who could kick a puppy without feeling bad. He does not feel much emotion. The only things that makes him feel something close to happiness are doing bad things, power, and money. It is hard to anger him. That is of course, assuming you don’t call him weak. Being called weak, a poor trainer, or anything of that sort will anger him. When he talks, he uses sarcasm a lot. Probobly a little too much.

He has a habit of underestimating his opponents, something that can easily work against him. He never surrenders in a fight, and would rather die than give up. He will usually try to take things slow, and calculate his next move. He has never really had any friends. He does not even consider his pokemon friends. The only thing he truly fears is failure.

History: David was born in Unova. Even as a kid people considered him a jerk. Growing up, he didn’t have any friends, and would often bully others. As he got older, he began to commit crimes, purely out of boredom and to see if he could get away with it. It started off small: A shoplifted bag of chips here, A “Borrowed” Bike there. As he got older, he began getting into more serious crimes. Eventually he took it too far. He attempted to steal from a bank, and while succeeding, he was just barely able to escape. Being a wanted criminal, He fled the region.

After he fled to Orre, he used his stolen money to purchase a large home in Phenac City. For a while, he was satisfied. Eventually however he began to go back to his old ways, committing crimes. then, the clusters began forming. David was affected, giving him strong powers. After Ciphers takeover of Phenac City, David joined them, looking for nothing but to commit more crimes and make more money.

Pokemon:
Rex the Roserade: Rex is the closest thing David has to a friend. While he does not use the term friend, He does consider Rex a powerful ally, and would be greatly angered if something were to happen to him. His ability is Poison Touch.

Staravia - Staravia scouts for David. In addition to scouting, he is a reasonable fighter. His ability is intimidate

Gloom: This is David’s most recently caught pokemon. It is fairly inexperienced in combat.

Koffing #1 #2 and #3 - These 3 pokemon know only two moves. Those moves are Smoke Screen and Self Destruct.

Powers:

Striker level 10: David has the ability to attack his opponents brains. By striking foes in the head, he can disable several parts of the brain. The first is the part that recognises faces. This means that anyone who has been hit will not be able to recognise anyone around them by facial features, meaning it will be significantly harder to tell friends from foes. The second part is the part that handles rational thought. Someone who has been hit will not be able to think clearly.

All these factors add up to make a person unstable and unpredictable. With no ability to tell friend from foe, they may simply start attacking the nearest person. Or they may be so confused they don’t do anything. These effects go away after several hours. Though usually no permanent damage will occur, it has been known to leave these parts of the brain impaired. The more times you have been exposed to these powers the more likely permanent damage will become.

Mover level 5: Davids mover powers allow him to move very quickly. He can go from standing to running at 40 miles an hour in a second. He can not keep this up for very long however, as his body will grow tired quickly. He uses these powers to get in close and use his striker abilities.

/Finally/ around to updating the Accepted/Reserved list. Anyone who isn't done yet should probably wrap up by Friday, because this is starting this weekend.

Dragon Master, I'm sorry, but I can't accept your SUs as they are. If you're still interested, please PM me so we can work it out.

Wrap up by Friday? Better get started, then.

Name: Aerin Averbaum, but she goes by "Reaper" most of the time.
Age: 23
Side: Reaper just kind of drifts between the two sides, selling information for exorbitant prices, though she gives away lies about a often as truths.
Rank: Ruler of the Entire World, The Very Best Like No One Ever Was, head of the Ice-Cream Lovers Club... the list goes on an on.
Gender: Female, but she cuts her hair very short and has a rather androgynous face, so it's a little hard to tell.
Appearance: Reaper loves dressing up in costumes, namely in an extremely theatrical floor-brushing black cloak with a snake-shaped brooch at the collar and a deep hood. The hood successfully obscures Reaper's eyes, but at the expense of most of her vision. With her hood up, Reaper can only see just in front of her and ends up bumping into almost everything, thus ruining whatever effect it may have had. Unfortunately, Orre's expansive deserts keep Reaper from staying outdoors too long, at least during daylight. Thus, not willing to give up her cloak, Reaper does all her travel and skulking at night or safely within a nice, air-conditioned building. If she absolutely has to go out for long periods of time, Reaper will reluctantly remove her cloak to reveal... a completely normal outfit consisting of a white tank top, distressed jeans, and sneakers! Gasp!
Reaper stands just above 5' 6 1/2'', putting her at a rather average height. She has long, lanky legs compared to a relatively small torso, giving her the appearance of being much skinnier than she really is. In reality, Reaper is not the most athletic person in the world and enjoys sweets above all else, putting her a tad on the chubby side. She would much rather stay inside and play piano rather than go for a run. Her fingers, long, slim, and dexterous, reflect this. Reaper's skin also has been affected by her heliophobic lifestyle: it is deathly pale, which may be unhealthy, but hey-a cloak looks much more impressive under moonlight, even if it does mean a Vitamin D imbalance. There are pills for that, after all. Her hair is a light caramel brown and cut messily, ending just past the top of her ears. Reaper's eyes are a rather hypnotic shade of electric blue and never seem to blink, instead staring right through anyone unfortunate enough to make eye contact.
Personality: Reaper's nickname is a misnomer: she didn't earn it by being particularly violent or threatening, but rather she was given the name for her interest in the macabre, but even that she keeps mostly to herself, quietly sweeping it under the rug, displaying her love of novelties in its place. Quite frankly, Reaper seems closer to impish than intimidating. Reaper's attempts at acting, well, like a reaper are usually botched by her theatrical nature-she loves spewing long, flowery sentences where a simple "OK" would have been fine, but she occasionally runs right out of ideas. When this happens, Reaper shuts up and reverts to speaking like any other human-it's a rather sobering experience. She lives for dramatic gestures, especially when entering or exiting a room; slamming doors open in her wake and quietly shuffling out of them in her midst. But this is, surprise, an act. Reaper is cold and reserved beneath her ridiculously flamboyant cover, and changes between the two personas rather sporadically. She could go from a strange looking and acting girl to an amazingly coldhearted person-the kind you would expect to be able to kill without a second thought and probably has before in an instant. It is only at these times, when her glacial interior shows, that Reaper really and truly lives up to her name. Why isn't she like this all the time? Well, Reaper really has no reason why, apart from the fact that it's really hard to make friends if everyone is afraid of you.
History: Reaper has no notable past: she grew up in Agate Village with her parents and went to school, where she got good grades and sat quietly in the back of the classroom, drawing dancing skeletons, spiders, Jolly Rogers, and the like on all her papers. She got her first Pokemon, a Vulpix (which eventually became known as Willow), as a gift long after everyone else in the school and dedicated herself to training it to catch up to her peers. She refrained from evolving it for a long time but eventually found a Fire Stone, and, after much encouragement from her (few) friends and family, evolved Willow into a Ninetales. Willow became Reaper's best friend, accompanying her everywhere she went and protecting her from harm. With Willow's help, Reaper slowly caught and traded for more Pokemon, eventually making her way to six. She trained these Pokemon diligently and became one of the best battlers in her school. Her cloak is a souvenir of a school play in which Reaper was a mage, and the antagonist of this particular story. Needless to say, she loved every moment of it. Reaper was rather young at the time of the first Cluster, and, in the midst of all the chaos, all the panic, Reaper was elated. Finally, a way to exact revenge on them all... Of, course, this was mostly just a rather morbid daydream. It's not like Reaper offer anyone and everyone she didn't favor and then covering her tracks to avoid getting caught, placing objects specifically to frame others... that would be crazy! anywaymovingon... As mentioned before, Reaper drifts between sides, selling information back and forth while pretending to be allying with whoever is nearest. She also works as a sort of a minion-for-hire and mercenary for both sides, allying with and fighting (and killing, occasionally) for whoever is willing to pay. However, Reaper absolutely refuses doing any work normally reserved for grunts, peons... whatever you want to call them, she won't do their jobs. She demands power and will go to any lengths to obtain it, even if that does involve coffee runs every once in a while.

Pokemon:
Ninetales/Willow (F)
Willow is very protective of her friends, especially Reaper. She can come off as a little stiff, though, often taking jokes he wrong way, interpreting them as insults. Willow is caring and could be described as a "mother hen", but that wouldn't be very close to the truth-the last thing Willow will do in a crisis is sit and cluck idly. She is skilled in battle and will fight long and hard at Reaper's whim. Willow can often be seen walking beside Reaper, glaring intensely at anyone who gets too close.
Pidgeot/Celeste (F)
Reaper captured Celeste as a Pidgey just after obtaining Willow. Celeste is strong and loyal, willing to carry Reaper all over Orre without a single complaint. Celeste is easy to upset and excite-even an offhand comment such as "You look good today," will have her twittering for hours. She prefers not to battle, but even Celeste has her limits. Push her too far and she will attack.
Luxio/Banzai (M)
Reaper traded a Growlithe to one of her classmates for Banzai, who had been passed between many trainers, each giving him away for some other Pokemon. Thus, Banzai is very clingy and refuses to leave both his team and his trainer even for short periods of time. He was nervous to battle at first, assuming that he was traded away because he was a bad battler. While this isn't true in the least, Reaper still has a hard time getting Banzai to attack.
Bisharp/Noir (M)
Noir was Reaper's hardest capture-she spent days tracking him down and engaging him in battle. Willow had to beat him to a pulp before Reaper could catch him. Noir has never really forgiven himself for being captured, though he is happy to train and battle seriously. Noir is what you would call the "strong silent type"-he spends all his time by himself, doesn't socialize with any of the other Pokemon, and eats all his meals alone. He is warming up a bit to Celeste but seems to have trouble making friends. He's much better at creating enemies. And corpses.
Espurr/Caspurr (M)
Caspurr is still young, and is thus rather small for an Espurr-he stands between 7 and 8 inches tall, the normal height being one foot. This would have been a useful asset for maneuvering in battle while dodging enemy attacks, if it were not for one fatal flaw-Caspurr is a dreamer. During training, lunch, travel, sleep, his head seems to be permanently stuck in the clouds; wandering off and falling asleep constantly. He isn't the best fighter-far from it-but Reaper just keeps him around for one reason: he is heart-meltingly adorable, cuddly, and almost completely helpless. She could never bring herself to leave poor Caspurr all alone.
Dewgong/Cecelia (F)
Cecelia is so optimistic, she refuses to acknowledge that a 'dark side' at all, let alone look at it. As such, she can seem rather naive or disconnected at times. She is also patient, using persistence to win battles rather than brute force. Cecelia trains diligently and is a strict follower of any and all rules in place, to the point where she will take it upon herself to enforce them with an Ice Beam. She can be rather vain at times, though, and is susceptible to jealousy.

Powers:
Stranger 3 - Reaper is somewhat forgettable, but not in the way that you might think-people definitely remember her; it would be almost impossible not to. Instead, they find themselves struggling to remember, say, her name, face, voice, and other features. They just recall a dark, hooded figure unless they were already familiar with Reaper. If she tries really, really, hard, Reaper can disappear for a few moments, but then will pop right back into existence.
Changer 7 - Reaper is a significantly better Changer than she is a Stranger. She primarily transforms into a massive, snaggle-toothed, blade-tailed, venoumous snake for combat, mostly because it is very versatile-poisoning, constriction, swallowing whole, biting, slicing, even crushing in some cases... so many ways to off your enemies! She can also sprout talons, fangs, et cetera and keep them for longer than the snake form, but both transformations drain Reaper's energy tremendously. Depending on what she transforms and how long she stays in that form, Reaper could be anywhere from a little woozy to completely knocked out when she returns to normal.
Blaster 2 - Reaper can throw lightning! MAGIC! Well, uh, it's actually not that epic. Mostly because Reaper sucks at aiming. She uses a small form of ball lightning, generating and throwing it at anyone threatening who comes within range. The shock is not very powerful, being somewhere between a Taser and a car battery in terms of power, so it's enough to stun someone... if it hits. Reaper can't usually aim very effectively anywhere past 25-30 feet. Anywhere much farther than that, and you're more likely to be injured by being run over by a passing butterfly. But it's lightning!

Finally done :P

Name: Silia Dune
Age: 23
Side: Neutral/Unaware
Rank: Glassblower
Gender: Female
Appearance: Rather simple, really. Silia typically wears heavier clothing to protect herself from her line of work, which involves temperatures higher than 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This consists of rather stereotypical clothes: a thick, long sleeved light brown shirt with denim jeans that are worn from constant use. She has thick, brown boots to which the jeans are tucked into, as well as even thicker leather gloves. She wears a heavy smock/apron on her front, shielding her further from the extreme heat. She often has a pair of safety goggles propped on top of her head.

Her exposed skin is slightly darker, but not so much as to give her the appearance of African-American descent. Rather, it is the result of the light and heat generated from working with glass. Silia’s eyes are primarily green, with flecks of blue spread within, and her hair is a thick ponytail of chestnut brown. Her Pokeballs are hidden in a fanny pack (color matching her shirt), which often holds a bottle of water as well as basic tools like a wrench and screwdriver.

Personality: If I had to describe Silia in one word, that word would be timid. Having been raised by her father who taught her the craft, she prefers to be alone with her glass than out and about with others. When caught in public, she tends to stay quiet and give her thoughts carefully for fear of insulting people, for her social skills aren’t as well trained as they should be. That fear makes her have a difficult time giving important information if it takes a lot of explanation, as it requires more speaking. She has a big heart, but it doesn’t always show because of this.

However, this quiet personality rapidly changes to a more robust, confident one as soon as her glass work is involved. She is immensely proud of her craft and will take offense if it is insulted. She has no problem talking about it as long as the topic is related to her craft – she will start to revert to her timid nature should it diverge from it. Silia can babble on and on about her glass, which shows that she can indeed be confident and a chatterbox when inspired to be. She’s very intelligent and creative, but this is apparent from her line of work, and this does not disappear even in timid mode.

She’s more confident with her friend and father, and Pokemon, talking a bit more, but only because she is more comfortable. She is still careful of upsetting them, and should that happen, will do whatever it takes to make them feel better. Getting to be her friend is difficult, but once you are she is loyal, unless you cross her in which case she will not seek revenge. Rather, she would prefer to leave the situation and never talk to you again.

History: Born to her parents, Sandra and Bari Dune in Gateon Port, long before the war happened. Silia was homeschooled due to her father’s belief that school wouldn’t make her a better glassworker, and as such, she never attended college. Her life was rather uneventful as her family worked on teaching her the craft of glassblowing as early as seven years old. Her mother, Sandra, fell into a large dispute with Bari, not agreeing with his way of life and refusal to move to a more populated region (although to be fair, Orre itself was starting to get more populated). She divorced him and lost custody of Silia, moving to a far off region.

Bari was left heartbroken and sometimes took his anger out on his daughter, but he loved her regardless and used his strict upbringing to keep her on the right path. At age 14, Silia won her first glassblower championship, and has won at least nine more, including two nationals. Continuing the tradition, she picked Sandile as her main Pokemon, and has added more to her “team” to help her sculpt. She and her father were present when the cluster happened, but her powers did not develop until considerably later. Only her father and best friend know of her abilities, and her father allowed her to experiment with her only mechanical creation (using programming she taught herself via books and her best friend, a local computer tech named Eddie), but under the strict rules of keeping it hidden.

Her family has stayed out of the war, keeping their shop “Classy Glass” safe since it was not a viable target. She still intends to stay out of it, and in any case, her abilities are not considered useful, at least in her opinion. She would rather keep her family’s longstanding tradition – at least nine generations strong – going, and no war is going to stop that.

Name: Thal
Gender: Male
Ability: Sand Force
Personality: Serious and quiet, used with glassblowing for his sand. Favorite move is Sand Tomb.

Name: Sahara
Gender: Female
Ability: Simple
Personality: Sweet and gentle, and provides plenty of heat for working. Favorite move is Flame Charge.

http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/flygon.gif
Name: Blue
Gender: Male
Ability: Levitate
Personality: Cocky, very, very cocky and willing to fight, and due to being a gift from her grandfather, doesn't listen very well to her. Favorite move is Dragon Claw. Please note he is shiny, but the website I got the model from doesn't have shiny ones yet ^^'

Powers:
Breaker (1): This prevents Silia from taking damage from her working with the materials her Striker ability modifies, protecting her from the intense heat that is created from molding the items into shapes. It also guards her from any electricity generated from metal she is actively working on, but really, that’s all it is. It is very weak and basic, and only protects her from side effects of her own powers.

Striker (5): Her ability targets materials such as metal, sand and anything derived from them. She can warp them into any shape she wants by vibrating the molecules, which generates heat and allows her to form them into any shape she wants. The more she vibrates the molecules, the more heat is generated. She cannot impact anything living with this, but she can use it to at least create even more works of art.

Tinker (8): Silia specializes in glass technology. Anything with glass, and she can work with it. This does extend to metals, although it takes a bit of adjusting to get used to new material, and programming is a weaker forte but doable with enough time and practice. Her most notable achievement is a mechanical hybrid with the form of a Rapidash, the wings and tail of a Noivern, and the gem (which is what I presume the mist comes from) of a Musharna. To avoid going into lengthy detail, she bought the gem from a trader as well as the Roggenrolla power core that sustains the creation, and it is all covered in a layer of glass. This is her best achievement yet, although she tries to keep it hidden as no one knows she has her powers, aside from her father.

Other: Her father loans her Thal, the Hippowdon. He belongs to both of them, really. Her father also owns a Garchomp, Krookodile, Onix, and Flareon. Her best friend, Eddie Odem, owns a Magnezone, Klank, Beldum, and Dedenne.

Good luck /finding/ them. Orre's wilds are all hiding. Snag Machines are obsolete as a whole. You could theoretically kill someone and take their Pokemon, but it's very probable that some of their Pokemon and some of yours will die, making it extremely likely that you will not have more than six

Also, RP goes up tomorrow. It was going to go up today, but I need rest because I'm sick.

Any chance I can get these characters off as reserves, I just came across this and would love to be a part of it if I am able. I am not completely sure if I will be able or how long I will be able.

Name: Luke the Crow

Age: 26

Side: Neutral
Rank: As high a rank as you can be working for yourself

Gender: male

Appearance: He is "usually" about 1'08" though he prefers to be a Murkrow than a human. As a human he is typically 5'09" and weighs a good 170 pounds. Luke's skin color is somewhat pale. Granted that typically is how he prefers to look. His eye color is always blue. His hair under normal circumstances is black and short. He appears to be lean and muscled. His choice of clothing includes a black, sleeveless hoodie underneath a brown leather trench coat. He wears a pair of black chinos and a broken-in pair of boots. He has a black leather satchel in which he carries his things. He has a pouch full of steel ball bearings tied to his belt. On the other side of his belt Luke has his pokeballs.
Personality: His past experiences and current present have made him socially awkward. He has always tended to enjoy solidarity over belonging to a crowd. He tends to seem cold at first meeting. For this reason, he tends to not have too many friends.

However it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that he has a desire to re-enter loops and not be a stranger in the background. It would be safe to say he would revert to his old disciplines and act selflessly for those who are his allies. His primary trait would be his loyalty.

History: He was born under the name Marion Perkinson. He grew up with his family owning a multi-martial arts dojo that came about through the disagreement of what martial arts specialty was superior. His father had not agreed with his uncles who had not agreed with each other either. It has long since been demolished. He was trained in multiple forms of martial arts since he was of young age. Though he lost most of his formerly known discipline after the loss of his family, he retained his level of mastery in hand-to-hand and armed fighting.

After he had lost his family, he was an orphan living on the streets. It wasn't long until he decided what to do with his life. He joined Team Snagem when they would take him. He worked as a snatcher until right before shadow pokemon began to appear. He didn't want his life to continue on this path, so without a word he disappeared. He began seeking a way to make what he needed the right way. He worked as a carpenter in Pyrite town and managed to just barely survive on what he earned.

Then he woke up one day, and something was different. He had the urge to leave. The air had become different here to him. So he spread black wings to his surprise and took to the sky. This lasted only a short time. He sat on one of the buildings of old Pyrite. On top of the old jail in fact. He climbed down and went home wondering what had occurred and glad that no one had witnessed anything terribly more unusual than a carpenter climbing down from an old building. It is evident that he does not have a presence in Pyrite any longer, but where he is and what he is doing now is a mystery to most.

Pokemon:

Sparks/Heliolisk: A mischievous and fun loving Heliolisk, she tends to enjoy harmless pranks. He received her from one of his uncles after he returned from the Kalos region. Ability Sand Veil

Eltry/Crobat: A loyal companion to Luke, Eltry is one of his oldest friends. He received Eltry from his father as a Zubat. He acts as the leader when their master is away. He eagerly awaits his masters call. Ability Infiltrator

Spindle/Ariados: An old friend of his. She is one of the few Pokémon he caught himself. Ability Insomnia

Heracles/Machamp: A fierce ally of Luke, he may not be the brightest but he makes up for it with brute force. He was a gift from his uncle. Ability No Guard

Prometheus/Duskull: At one point the forlorn soul of one of his father's lost pokemon, he was found by Luke. Despite a few shortcomings they have become well bonded friends. Ability Levitate

Nails/Sneasel: Despite acting as Sparks' sister in crime, she acts as another member of Luke's team. She was given to him by yet another uncle. Ability Pickpocket

Powers:

Changer 9: He can modify his own body in almost any way he pleases. He tends to use it to alter himself into a Pokémon, but he can do far more than that. He has the capability to alter his flesh to make it like metal to make weapons of himself or to use his skin as an armor. He can alter his physical appearance as he deams necessary for what purpose he wishes to achieve. His other abilities are mere extensions of his power.

Striker 5: Upon contact he can use his Changer abilities on other creatures or objects to modify them. Of course he has to use himself or his target as material for the transformation, of course other people aren't as pliable so he can't do quite as much as he can to himself. As an example, he uses his changer abilities to make his pouch of nearly harmless ball bearings into a dagger.

Breaker 6: He passively alters reality so that his transformations are painless, and the exchanges don't have to be exactly equivalent. He can't make something out of nothing, but he can make something for different and more or less of it.

Other: His clothing is an extension of him, therefore it isn't lost when he changes form. His satchel and belt however are not, and therefore have to be stashed somewhere while he is not in a human form. His T-shirt that you don't see is blue.

Name: Loreli Nelson

Age: 23

Side: Neutral
Rank: None

Gender: Female

Appearance: She stands at about 5'03" and weighs about 128 pounds. She is freckled all over her pale face and a naturally born red-head who could use a hair cut. She has large green eyes that are magnified by the large frames of her glasses. She wears blue shorts as well as black and green sneakers. She also has a green vest over a blue t-shirt. One accessory she is never without... Headphones.

Personality: She is a techie who will take technology over a social life any day. Needless to say... she doesn't get out much. Sure she is ambitious and passionate about it as long as it runs on batteries or plugs into a wall. Of course like any trainer she does care about her Pokémon. Even the ones that aren't made of metal and don't need to eat ever, and she legitimately tries not to be neglectful.

Despite her obsession with all things electrical, she is actually a caring person. You just wouldn't be able to tell if she is surrounded in fun electronics.

History: Loreli grew up in a fairly privileged household. Both her parents worked hard to provide for the family. Good old dad was an archeologist, and mom managed a construction business from her desk at home in Agate village. She encountered technology early on. As she grew she became more in-tune with technology, which was fine for her parents as long as she kept her marks up in school.

It did eventually become worrisome to them that she was always alone, so they gave her a fairly simple Pokémon to keep. A Porygon was as suited for technology as she was and was a gateway for her to acquire the skill take care of other Pokémon. Granted certain other Pokémon didn't turn out as well. Her Slaking has little to no respect for her, and now there is a pestering Murkrow that she doesn't remember even catching hanging around.
Pokemon:

Glitch/Porygon Z: Her first ever Pokémon at its fully evolved stage. It acts as her reality check alarm clock fairly often. Aside from that duty it is a loyal friend to her. She also hacked into it to alter its code here in there. Ability Download

Kane/Rampardos: She received Kane from a resurrected fossil that her father acquired. He acts as a loyal guardian even if he isn't the most obedient Pokémon she has, and he has a reckless streak. Ability Mold Breaker

Bill/Abomasnow: She acquired Bill as its pre-evolved form. Bill is another of her loyal guardians and keeps Kane in check if the situation calls for it. Ability Snow Warning

Lazarus/Slaking: He is a lazy lug of a Slaking. He ignores his trainer completely. Kane and Bill tend to watch him just as much as they do their opponents. Ability Truant

Vox/Magnemite: Vox is a fairly happy little magnet creature. Its trainer's performance with it is satisfactory since it does not require food or affection it is generally satisfied. Ability Analytic

Priest/Yamask: He is a strange little Pokémon as far as Loreli is concerned. He is a narcissistic Yamask that tends to stare at himself and enjoy it. Ability Mummy

Powers:

Thinker 3: She was a smart cookie before, now she can come up with decisive decisions quickly, and still remember to feed her Slaking.

Tinker 4: Her skill at creating things has improved.
Her favorite pen now has a built in Laser pointer and when the button for the pointer is held down and the pen is clicked the pen's head is ejected and turned into a taser utilizing the same battery as the pointer. It needs to be rebuilt and the battery replaced to be reused... The pen part will still work though.

Her cell phone has been gutted and rewired to allow it to receive radio frequencies like a typical car radio. It can still be used as a cell phone, the warranty is just useless now and the coverage isn't as great.

Trump 3: She isn't typically bothered by the mental abilities of others. Granted she is unaware of their use on her.

Other: the pestering Murkrow is Luke and is not one of her Pokémon.

Excellent.

And one last thing to everyone: I'm kinda getting annoyed at all the duplicate powers. Even powers that have similar functions should have different mechanisms. In fact, I strongly suggest that if I haven't accepted you yet and you duplicated a power someone else has, you should definitely modify it so that it's different: if not in what it accomplishes, then in how it accomplishes it. I'm very liable to not accept duplicates.

Going to post my first character, I have a second character connected to this guy, but I don't have too much time between homework to work on him today.

Jack "Jackson" DeHanes
Name: Jack Alexander DeHanes (endearingly called Jackson on occasion)

Age: 28

Side: Independent

Rank: Unwilling comrade of Taire, his partner in crime. Not that they don't commit crimes though...

Gender: Male

Appearance

"You do like wearing impractical clothes sometimes..."

"You can't complain, these are pretty comfortable."

At first glance, Jack seens rather average, weighing in on the light side and standing tall at 5"7. While he may not seem like the type, Jack has somewhat toned muscles from getting into small scrapes and fights with the two warring sides over the years. Also as a result of these scrapes, his hands are noticably paler and leathery due to the numerous scars and cuts incurred, along with a broken-and-healed-wrong nose. Not much a guy can do while far away from a decent medical facilities these days. Since he's always on the move between towns, Jack is slightly sunburnt where he isn't tan. As for other details, most folks don't get a glimpse of Jack's eyes, or any other defining facial features on account of the yellow-tinted glasses or goggles he wears. For the record, Jack's eyes are plain brown, and his face seems to be contorted into a perpetual state of annoyance. It's rare to see him flash a genuine smile, though he has taken to laughing sarcastically the majority of the time. His hair is dark brown with the odd teal highlight running through it, and definitely messy. It also tends to stick up in the front and is pulled back into a short ponytail. Yes, he does cut it sometimes, but those times are far and few in between and usually involves haphazard snipping with a knife.

And clothes! Despite the relatively acrid climate of Orre, Jack feels at home when wearing a green sweatshirt under a rather plain, gray jacket. It does have the effect of making him look bulkier than he really is since the sweatshirt doesn't quite fit well enough with the sleeves of the jacket. The hood also hangs out since the jacket has a somewhat high collar (usually flattened down around his shoulder) but no hood. In most cases, especially when traveling, Jack wears the hood to protect himself from the weather. Though when he does go into town, he leaves it down since it does make him stick out more and seem suspicious. Well yeah, the weather is pretty warm, though for some reason, Jack doesn't seem to be affected by the temperatures. He has claimed multiple times that he prefers cold weather over warm sunny days however. Jack also prefers jeans, especially those of the tough variety. Since he doesn't get a lot of time to shop, the pairs he does have are usually dusty from the Orre soil and worn out around the seams. Footwear, there's not much variety considering Jack's lifestyle, and he has opted for a hardy pair of hiking boots, dark gray and leathery from years of use. While Jack does have a nice pair of gloves for protection, that stuff is usually just in his backpack.

As for other stuff that can be seen on his person, Jack wears a silver watch on his left hand (he's ambidextrous, though he does seem to favor his left hand). There is also the aforementioned glasses and goggles, worn most of the time. The glasses are for a day out in town, while goggles would be more for traveling between towns to protect the eyes from the sun and dust storms that occasionally whirl about the place. And of course he needs places to put some of his important stuff too! His jacket has a few pockets - two obvious ones on the outside, but a few concealed in the inner lining of the jacket. This is where he keeps his spare cash and a cell phone for emergencies. His jeans do have pockets; those go unused as it's easy for things to fall out of there. The majority of his stuff (rations, water, notebooks (for keeping tabs on the situation in Orre)) are stowed away in a light black backpack. Also right on top of everything is two bars of steel alloy which is used for... stuff. They weigh approximately 50kg combined (110lbs). You'll see what he uses those for later on. Before I forget, the Pokeballs are usually in one of his jacket pockets, though most of the time his Pokemon are outside of their balls. Other than that, there really isn't much else to comment on other than the fact that Jack owns a well-maintained motorcycle that somehow survived everything from explosions to running away from everything.

Personality

Pretty easy to sum up Jack in a few words; nothing fazes him. It is rather hard to get him to flinch or bat an eye at anything, and on top of it, his default expression is that of perpetual annoyance. Even close friends and family have not actually figured out what Jack is always annoyed at, and have come to the conclusion that it is everything out there. Also, the fact that Jack barely comments on anything have misled people to believe that he is soft-spoken or quiet or antisocial. Which suits him just fine, as he isn't one for making small talk. This seems to stem from the fact that he dislikes inadvertently provoking people into fighting him. With his aloof attitude and constant aura of annoyance, Jack has ended up in fights and will still end up in fights anyways. However, just because he doesn't make small talk doesn't mean he can't carry a conversation. He just would rather be thinking about something else more important or discussing the ramifications of the numerous skirmishes scattered throughout the Orre region.

If someone ever gets him talking for an extended period of time, they'll find out quickly that Jack is well-read and does know a large chunk of information on a variety of subjects. It does seem like he knows a lot about molecular chemistry and other major sciences such as physics and biology in particular. On the subject of information and knowledge in general, he is meticulous in dealing with information (those notebooks in his backpacks are there for a reason), despite not being a Thinker of some kind, causing him to be quite good at reading people and how situations may turn out. However, this only applies when he actually has prior knowledge, so if Jack is thrown into a situation without any reading on what is happening, he tends to hesitate while he calculates his best options. To his credit, even without figuring out the best options, Jack takes up the initiative and charges into battle a lot. This lets him get the jump on most people as they aren't expecting a full frontal charge like what he does.

Additionally, while Jack may be annoyed most of the time, he has relatively thick skin. It takes a massive amount of goading, back-talk, and insults to get him to boil over with anger, and even then, that anger may pass relatively quickly. On the other end of the spectrum, it takes a lot of effort to make him smile, though less to make him laugh. He doesn't hold grudges - it's not in his nature to do so. However, he does remember people, and will judge them based on their actions and words. If a person does get on his good side, the one thing he will do for sure is to back that person up, no matter what happens. Just don't mess with his friends or family. It won't end well. It's also wise to keep in mind that Jack acts in his self-interest the majority of the time when making decisions.

On the subject of morals, considering the powers he ended up with, Jack abhors killing. For safety's sake, he will not hesitate to fight but will definitely stop short of killing. A manipulative person could twist this to their advantage, but if pushed far enough over the edge at all, morals definitely will go out of the window.

History

As far as people go, Jack has had a relatively peaceful life. He hails from the underground city of the Under, which as far as anyone is concerned, doesn't exist anymore. But considering that it was only recently demolished, Jack has spent the majority of his childhood between the Under and Pyrite Town, mainly because his school was in Pyrite. Pyrite's education system could've been better, but Jack spent most of his spare time reading when he wasn't running with the gangs in the Under. He does have some faint connections to the Kids Grid, having ran errands for them during the events of Pokemon Colosseum. But other than that, he largely stayed out of much of those events because of concern from his parents and the fact that his brother was terrible at sticking up for himself in fights at school. When Jack was around 11, his family moved up to Pyrite Town due to the Under being filled in and the fact that no one really wanted to be crushed by rocks at all. Not much changed for Jack in ways of lifestyle, except that he entered high school a few years after that. High school sucked, and Jack just kept to himself at that point. He was happy to graduate and worked as a messenger slash mail-person between towns. Sure he could've gotten into a college outside of Orre, and would have excelled there if it wasn't for the fact that his parents was getting old and had to be cared for. As a result, Jack was the one who stayed behind while his brother headed out to the Sinnoh region to major in the field of Pokemon evolution.

In any case, when the first Cluster hit Pyrite Town, it turned into literal chaos. Jack and his parents were close enough to the epicenter that it was in his own words, "hell to get out of". Since Jack was a Brute, he took the majority of hits when shuffling his parents out to Agate Town where he knew it was rather peaceful. The region was tumbling into hell, and apparently, immigration was bad in other regions. So there wasn't much of a chance to get his family out of the region. Agate Town seemed peaceful enough and it was decided that they would stay there for the time being while all this conflict blew over. And they still needed to make money, so Jack continued on his job as a messenger. He makes no distinction between jobs posted by the Cipher or the Lab organizations, and has a reputation for being very tight-lipped about everything, allowing him to at least run minor messages and briefs alongside the bulk that are collected from regular people scattered around Orre. The fact that everyone's letters are mixed up lends to a sense of concealment, and Jack is honorable enough that he wouldn't peek at them.

Presently, it is around this time he met an old and rather annoying rival from his school days - Taire. It was honestly an off-chance that they ever met at all; Taire was also on the move, and seemed to be keeping tabs on the situation. As the story goes, they met, fought, somehow made up, and became thick as thieves afterwards. Currently, the two seems to be cooperating in the 'business' as they say.

Pokemon

[Mephistopheles] Xatu (M) - Ability: Magic Bounce
A devious Natu acquired from Jack's brother from the Sinnoh region, now evolved into an Xatu. It was a Pokemon with a rare ability, acquired from a prolific breeder at Solaceon Daycare. The Xatu was jokingly nicknamed Mephistopheles after Jack was on the receiving end of various psychic manipulations. Afterwards, they made a deal they had each other's back as long as Mephistopheles is able to roam free and enjoy the 'pleasures of life' as they say. Personality-wise, as a Psychic-type, Mephistopheles is highly intelligent, though lazy. Most of the time, Jack has to carry him around since Xatus are known to stay still as much as possible which doesn't fit Jack's lifestyle at all. It's a cause of one of the many annoyances

[Beleth] Garchomp (F) - Ability: Sand Veil
Originally a Gible, Beleth is Jack's first Pokemon. She's quite loyal to Jack and will follow him around, even to the ends of the earth. Garchomps are quite fierce - Beleth is no exception, often intimidating other Pokemon in battle before she even enters the fray. However past that, Beleth is quite adorable and cuddly, always happy to be petted or scratched under the cheek. She can seem quite air-headed in general, but this can be attributed to the fact that Beleth operates on mostly gut instinct.

Powers

Breaker (7) / Striker (5) [Recomposition - Decomposition] - Two sides of the same coin, this power basically breaks the law of the conservation of energy, though matter is a limitation. This is due to the formation and breaking of chemical bonds in order to accomplish whatever purpose he has in mind, which requires extra energy in order to do so. With its wide variety of uses, this power has led many people to believe that Jack's actual power is manipulating metal into various shapes and forms, which is his most used application for this power. One of the drawbacks to this power is that it requires a thorough and in-depth knowledge of the chemical composition of the object being affected. Because of this drawback, Jack is limited to only inanimate objects that he knows the exact composition of, such as the bars in his backpack made out of steel alloy. He can apply this to the steel bars in his backpack by manipulating them into shapes such as an emergency fix for his motorcycle, shelter, protection, weapons, and so on. He has had enough practice with doing this that it's almost natural to go for that while in a fight. Practice helps in this case and instinctively knowing where to change things, but Jack is pretty unwilling to use his power towards any sort of killing, though that doesn't include self-defense. Since decomposition is covered pretty well, recomposition on the other hand is a whole 'nother ball park. Jack has observed that it's definitely a lot harder to recompose objects into their original states, requiring the knowledge of their general structure and orientation. While it is possible, it seems unreachable at the moment when it comes to synthetic materials due to their complexity and the fact that it requires more concentration and energy to do in the first place. Can't say if he will attain that level, but it definitely seems quite far off. Both recomposition and decomposition seems to take up a significant amount of Jack's energy on use. Also, Jack is not affected if he tries using this ability on himself which eliminates the possibility of it being a Changer/Stranger ability. Biological structures are unaffected though organic compounds such as oil synthesis are fair game. So far, Jack has been able to bond hydrogen and oxygen together to create some water in an emergency, restructure walls so they are easier to break through, and whatever else the situation can call for.

Brute (2) - He can weather blows for a longer period of time than regular people. Other than that and a noticeable increase in healing from wounds, it's not much to write home about. Additionally, there hasn't been an increase to Jack's physical strength, an oddity amongst Brutes in most cases. You might've noticed that Jack is able to carry a lot of stuff on his back (steel bars weigh 50kg total, along with food and rations and stuff like that), and the answer is that even without being a Brute, Jack is still able to carry a lot in general. Bones can still break, and everyone bleeds the same anyways.

Other: brb breaking moon

Voltaire "Taire" Sangier
Name: Voltaire "Taire" Riley Sangier

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Side: Neutral, with slight favorism towards the Organization

Rank: The cheery, energetic side of the Jack-Taire Power Hour~

Appearance
If there's one thing to be said about Taire, it is that anyone could pick him out of a crowd, any time, any day, anywhere. One reason is because of his shockingly violet hair, which you really can't call natural. It's always on edge - sticking out in tufts when not hidden away by the customary golfing cap he wears. On top of it, it always changes whenever he gets the chance to get it styled, eliciting snide comments from Jack whenever they meet. Rarely does he default to his natural hair color, which is a dirty blond color. Other than the garishly bright hair, Taire has a rather boyish face, seeming younger than he really is. Coupled with his height of 5"2 and his slender build, Taire looks like an 18 year-old kid. They'd be half right at least. He is one of those folks that always has a bright sunny grin on his face, no matter the situation. Always enthusiastic about something, the grin extends to his eyes, which are blue. With all of these details, Taire is a person not easily forgotten.

Unlike the man himself, his clothes are sharp and formal. Due to his slender appearance, it can be hard to find clothes that fit him. When he does find a style he likes, he pulls it off to a T. Currently, Taire is dressed up in a navy blue blazer, crisply ironed, with a white collared shirt underneath. Slightly detracting from his more-or-less formal appearance is a checkered handkerchief tied around his neck. The kerchief is there to protect him from the harsh dust storms that roll across Orre regularly, though Taire lacks eye protection. He's been meaning to get sunglasses or goggles sometimes, but those seem rare. Whenever possible, he borrows one of Jack's pairs (without telling him of course). This pair is usually re-appropriated by Jack later on, leaving Taire with the same problems as before. Moving on from talking about glasses, Taire wears slacks to match his blazer, and they are typically black or dark gray. He has worn white pants before, but they usually end up reddish from the dust and walking around after only a short time. His shoes are more practical; he alternates between sneakers and dress shoes depending on the occasion.

There really isn't a lot of other things that catch your eye about Taire. This is in part due to the fact that Taire is quite meticulous about his appearance and whatever necklaces or wristbands he wears is usually hidden under his sleeves or shirt. There is a simple silver chain worn around his neck that is barely noticeable under the handkerchief. It is a gift from his mother, and out of respect to her, he continues to wear it. Since Taire does a lot of footwork on a daily basis, he stows away whatever he needs into a leather messenger bag. The few mainstays are a tablet (with a surprisingly long battery life though he has a solar charger), notebooks, pencils, water, food, and a switchknife.

Personality
What you see is what you get when it comes to Taire. He's very open about everything and will not hesitate to make his opinions and thoughts known. If given the opportunity, Taire will yak your ear off with a constant stream of words and sentences - a load of nonsense really at first glance. This instantly causes most people to dismiss his words right away because it's a mess of meanings to sift through. However to people that are used to his manner of speaking, Taire is actually pretty good at picking up on many details others miss and will often drop hints about them in the mess of words he dumps. He definitely does become much more coherent when the situation calls for it, but most of the time he always seems happy-go-lucky. A lot of things just roll off him and Taire seems to be forgiving of most insults except for jabs about his age.

Taire is pretty bad at most other things, especially when it comes to crunching numbers or memorizing facts and events, though the one thing he excels in is reading people and their quirks right off the bat. He's very good at pushing other people's buttons and will happily do it with a genuine smile. Most actions Taire undertakes have a hint of underlying aims though Taire is quite good at portraying them as altruistic aims.

While he may project an air of confidence and certainty, the recent upheavals in Orre has played hell with his perceptions of himself. The rise of parahumans have given Taire a bit of an inferiority complex and also determination to do better than them, despite the various advantages they hold over him. He has a bit of a negative bias towards both sides of the war, though if he had to pick, Taire vastly prefers the Organization over Cipher due to some nasty rumors he has picked up on as of late. As a result, Taire is self-sufficient and clear-minded in his aims to end the war as soon as possible. He is a bit of an idealist in this sense, believing that there has to be a clear solution to the war's resolution. Feel free to argue with him, Taire is quite skilled in rhetoric and persuasion. He could convince anyone that day is night, even when the fact is plain in the sky.

History
History-wise, Taire was born an only child, and raised in Phenac City. His family was relatively rich, able to afford the higher prices water and housing in the city and still have a lot left over for luxuries. Despite the luxury, Taire always had this feeling that something was off about the whole town. This was further confirmed when his lifelong idol, Mayor Es Cade was arrested in the events of Pokemon Colosseum. It definitely shattered his morals and expectations and after that, Taire's performance in school started to decline, especially when it came to his favorite subjects of English and linguistics. Concerned for their child, his parents entered him into a few weeks of an exchange program with a school in Pyrite. The whole experience overall was... interesting as they say.

Taire certainly did perk up a bit during the exchange program. The grittiness of Pyrite and its people interested him a lot and Taire really started establishing some black market connections on top of his studies. Just for the future, yanno? Oh yeah, I did mention that Jack and Taire have met before. It was right around this time, actually Taire's first day in Pyrite when he was punched in the face during a chaotic gym class. And the person who punched him was Jack, who never apologized for this incident, or any other thereafter. And as a person, Jack was somewhat intriguing to Taire. Respected by most students, quiet, intelligent; he was just the kind of person Taire liked to annoy. He did try, but nothing he did had any effect. And that was cut short as Taire's time with the exchange program ended and he transferred back to Phenac. After that, he simply vanished from public view, working on building up his own business.

Taire was in Phenac City when he heard about the first cluster and the subsequent chaos. He was still in Phenac City when Cipher took over. Disgusted with their operations, Taire left the city and set up his smuggling operations in Pyrite. On occasion, though not often, Taire can smuggle people out of the region, but with the heightened suspicion of sailors at the moment, even smuggling supplies is a bit of a stretch. A lot of it is rather underground and unknown, aided even further by the constant roil of chaos in Pyrite Town. As a normal, Taire has found it prudent to keep most of the details hidden and have largely avoided most of the problems in Pyrite Town simply by mapping out the patterns and trends in the war. As for how he has been able to get contraband in and out of the Orre region, this is mostly done through the various waterways leading towards the ocean in the mountainous regions of Orre. Presently, his smuggling operations doesn't require much oversight, allowing Taire to just simply travel around and keep tabs on the situation. He occasionally travels with Jack just because it's a lot faster than taking a Pokemon and he gets some protection in return too.

Pokemon
Coming from an affluent family, Taire owns quite a few imported Pokemon.

[Stolas] Toxicroak (M) - Ability: Anticipation
Jumpy and paranoid, Stolas is Taire's first Pokemon. He got it as a Croagunk when he was in high school and they became fast friends. With his ability, Stolas can usually react to attacks even faster than most people can say "What?". Normally, he wasn't as jumpy or paranoid, but with recent events and the on-going war, it's not much of a stretch to see why he would be that jittery. Even so, Stolas is dedicated to sparring and martial arts, often trying to goad Taire into fighting him even when he knows it won't happen.

[Dandy] Ludicolo (F) - Ability: Rain Dish
The happiest Pokemon in the group, Dandy loves to dance. And no one can tell her to stop. Not even her trainer. So most of the time she stays in her Pokeball, because no one really wants to see her get hurt, neither do they want to see a random twirling Ludicolo waltz into a fight. Despite that, Dandy is kind-hearted, and will often try to lift the spirits of the people around her. She doesn't seem to know the difference between a good person and a bad person, and has been known to randomly guide Cipher peons into a dance when no one's looking.

[Giacomo] Furret (F) - Ability: Keen Eye
Often acting as Taire's scout, Giacomo is a no-nonsense Pokemon. She dislikes opinions, and vastly prefers objective facts which makes her so valuable as a scout. Her ability, Keen Eye, lets her spot oncoming enemies from several miles away. Most of the time, Giacomo is in charge of accounting and observation, two things she apparently likes to do. She is known to be quite fierce in battle and will not hesitate to claw out another Pokemon's eyes or take advantage of any of their weak spots.

Powers
Taire currently does not have any powers, preferring to make it by on luck and skill. However, if he does run into a Cluster further along the line, these will be the main power he has. I just grouped them all at once since it's really one power with multiple classifications.

Stranger (5) / Blaster (5) / Trump (5) [Now You See Him, Now You Don't] - Along with the passive lack of presence Strangers have, Taire is able to project visual and auditory hallucinations towards individuals. These hallucinations have just about as much substance as air, however they are very convincing and operate on procedural generation. It is rather hard to tell where reality ended and when illusions begin and can hang around for anywhere from a few minutes to several hours due to the twists and turns the illusion can take. However, they can only be applied individually and this is where the Blaster classification comes into play. The power ranking for Blaster is higher because of its specialization in only applying the hallucinations. As long as Taire has someone in his sights, he can hit them with an illusion and then escape. The Blaster ability can also be used to transfer weaker versions of Taire's Stranger ability to other people, explaining the Trump classification, though it makes his own ability weaker and weaker the more people it is transferred to. This effect wears off naturally over time though Taire can choose to withdraw it as long as he can see the person and identify him.

Other: Nope got nothing else to say.

Jack looks mostly good, except for one /major/ detail: his power is an explicit violation of the Krane Effect. It's a creative power that I like, but it can't violate that. I made that a hard and fast rule because otherwise powers get really broken really fast. I mean, in a world where there is no Krane Effect, Benjamin can decide to make your heart too heavy for your connective tissue and blood vessels, making it fall to the floor and out of your body. Therefore, that's a limitation I'm enforcing. Hard.

Death's Spook, I tried to make my characters better. I don't think I did good enough. Rather than posting them over, I replaced the original submission.

Death's Spook, I've changed Jack's power to only be used on non-biological targets, though this means that things such organic compounds are still affected and can be synthesized (like hydrocarbons, proteins, sugars, etc).

Also added another character. ^_^

Character is finished:

Name: Chelsea Arkiten
Age: 17 years old
Side: Hirable Assassin (Third Party, Loner) AKA Neutral, can be convinced to join a side
Rank: Loner
Gender: Female

Appearance:
Chelsea is an...interesting person in terms of clothing. We’ll start from the top and work our way down. First of all, her haircut man. This is the neatest thing about her. Although it’s completely straight, it curves around her head a little. I would draw it but I’m not good. It’s an interesting design, and if you can imagine, it sort of looks like a helmet per say. Oh yeah, it’s black with some blue highlights. Ain’t that just strange? Anyways, she generally wears a pair of aviator goggles under her hair.

Moving down, we go to her basic top wear. She wears a green tanktop with a camo-colored winter jacket that is partially cut apart. The reason is to make it lighter and more easily worn. She generally carries all the various metals she has invented in these for battles so that she can have a slight advantage. It’s sown with some of the toughest material she knows, but it could be torn open due to age.

Next, she wears some very baggy jeans on her. She carries many of her tools of trade and just regular tools in these. They can also be used to decieve the opponents with her direct kicking talents. These are however, all purpose jeans. They are meant to keep her body temperature a stable one in any conditions through some technology she installed. Hey, she’s a mechanic, what can I really do?

Some minor things to note:
She wears mechanic’s gloves that she sewn an inside layer of bullet proof armor, to catch bullets per say. Although, she’s gotta be really prepared to do this. She wears no earings, and has no jewelry on her. She HATES that stuff. Also, if you want a picture to think of her easier, here you go: (http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire4/05182008/f/6/0/d/f60d9ac1a0c6c0_full.jpg)http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire4/05182008/f/6/0/d/f60d9ac1a0c6c0_full.jpg

More minor things:
Eye Color - Emerald
May wear a scarf here and there
Skin Color/Race - Caucasian

Personality:
Due to having a strict past all together, Chelsea seems to follow her own code and doesn’t apply to anything else. For one, we can start off at her military-like personality. Chelsea is generally respected as she follows whatever you give her for a job, no matter how complicated it is. She doesn’t believe in not showing respect and has always been strict with anyone around her too. Just a way of life I suppose, it’s interesting to think about. With this, she’s fairly confident in her own abilities, and walks up with her head and chin high whether she deserves it or not.

Other than that, Chelsea seems to be more of a cold-hearted person than anything else. She almost shows no emotion when you see or talk to her, mostly because she hides them. She doesn’t believe in any qualities of friendship, she has no clue how to be nice to a human being. The only thing she knows how to be show emotions with is other pokemon, which you can usually see her talking to them over the people. However, even though this is nearly impossible, you can open up some emotions, but they won’t be long lasting.

After all, an assassin can’t show any weakness.

History:
Chelsea doesn’t have much of a history that is known before the 7 years in which
survival of the fittest started. Born in the Orre region is all that which can really be said. Moving on, Chelsea has been living as a loner ever since she her powers, her parent’s having died by a flame controller who she had later killed that year at the age of 10. Not knowing what to do with them or how she would live, Chelsea became an assassin for hire, and was one of the best in her job frame around some cities. Having earned herself a lot of cash, she fancied the life and her personality seemed to shape around it.

It wasn’t until recently that she started capturing Pokemon to help her with her jobs. As she got her team all situated, she realized how much the world was changing around her. People were constantly fighting, and arguments broke out a lot. Two major powers; Cipher and the labs. These were what she knew would help her get money. She has all her gear prepared for any situation to come.

Pokemon:
Aegislash [Raider]
Greninja [Falsor]
Dragonite [Mars]
Honchkrow [Monsiuer]
Ditto [Laust]
Gardevoir [Saran]

Powers:
Stranger 8:
Chelsea has been an assassin for so long that she’s managed to enhance this skill to its fullest ability. This ability is like the saying “hear no evil, see no evil, think no evil.” You can’t see her or hear her unless you’ve been distinctively chosen by her to see her, or if you have a trump/whatever ability that counters this. This makes Chelsea very dangerous, because with her Ditto, she can create illusions with it that can throw an opponent off and possibly open a chance for her to strike.

Shaker 7:
Chelsea has been throwing objects for years, it's one of her assassination techniques. She's developed with her power the ability to alter the speed and direction of any object she throws with ease by using air molecules around it. However, she can't make it turn around or crap; it is always in a straight path, it can just curve and go faster.

Thinker 4:
Chelsea has the tendency to study movements and size up her opponent’s actions when in a fight. She can usually see what the person could possibly do, but she’s usually off. This makes her very deadly in hand to hand combat, and the fact that if she sees the direction you shoot anything in besides a blaster shot, she can pretty much catch it, or attempt to. She hasn’t managed to fully get this down, so it ends up screwing her up a lot too.

Other:
As you can tell, the personality and backstory are a bit short. Personality was difficult for me, since she’s one of those characters that I could imagine up, but not come up with how they acted. Also, I will be revealing some more, but not much backstory through the RP, so take that in hand.

Princess Crow

Likewise, finished!

Name: Ellen
Age: 14
Side: Neutral, but newly recruited by Lab
Rank: Newly recruited
Gender: Female
Appearance: Ellen stands at about 5’2’’. She’s rather thin but not to the point of being unhealthy. Her ragged auburn hair has grown longer than she’s used to, reaching several inches below her shoulders, but Ellen usually ties it up in a ponytail to keep it out of her face. She has dark hazel eyes with a tint of green. Her face is both round and angular - as she’s gotten older, her chin and cheekbones have become more defined, but she is still in the process of aging. She has fair skin with freckles speckled across her face, and her overall childish appearance is both helpful and deceptive at the same time.

Apparel-wise, Ellen prefers to keep things simple. She wears a graphic tee with a forest green parka several sizes too big. Her weather-resistant leggings compliment her pair of black combat boots. While Ellen might normally try and dress up, she understands the realities that the world is changing. While she’s particularly fond of these clothes and has been wearing them for quite a long time, she isn’t really attached to them. The one physical weapon that Ellen possesses, a switchblade, is tucked into her boot and is easily accessible in times of danger. Ellen carries a simple backpack where she puts her items and Pokeballs for safe storage, but when she’s actively using her Pokemon, she instead chooses to keep them in her jacket’s pockets for easier access.

If you’re more of an image-based person, here’s a link to a picture that I used for the base of my description - there are some small changes, but this is basically the design I attempted to use. (http://carboncostume.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/ellie.jpg)

Personality: Perhaps in another world, Ellen would be like any other teenage girl. Falling over boys, playing sports, and acting social. At heart, she’s still just a child. But the world is cold and cruel, and she’s had to adapt to survive.

She’s rather quiet. In a world where love is foolish and trust is a death sentence, she’s learned to stay to herself. Her powers lead her to be more introverted. Likewise, she’s spent most of her life alone, so she finds it even harder to communicate with others. Yet, she also recognizes the safety in numbers. She’s become an expert at blending in (though not quite like a Stranger), and though she certainly likes being left alone, she fears being completely and entirely alone. In the rare times where Ellen has been able to finally feel comfortable, she becomes more extroverted with her emotions and is generally happier. But these feelings always fade, and Ellen is always left hurt. As such, she has become averse to opening up to anybody.

During times of crises, Ellen can generally handle herself. Her probabilistic detections of the future become increasingly potent in hand to hand combat, as she’s able to accurately predict many attacks several seconds before they ever occur. However, because she has become so reliant on these powers, when she is without them (in cases such as battling a Trump), she is entirely lost. Likewise, while Ellen is small and quick, she can only evade so many attacks - against a well qualified fighter, Ellen is sure to lose. This makes her very evasive and vulnerable at the same time.

Somehow, there has always been something in the back of her head, telling her something is wrong. Quite like the feeling of forgetting something, Ellen always feels like something is amiss, though she can’t quite place her finger on it. Whether this is simple backlash of her powers or something larger, Ellen doesn't know. She does know, however, that whatever is missing is extremely important to her as a person.

History: Be aware that some of this information has been modified or altered to protect Ellen. Not everything seen here is truth, but it is what Ellen knows of her past.

Ellen was born in Phenac City, living in a sandy adobe on the outskirts of town. Born to a single mother, Eden, distraught with a recent divorce, her infancy was quite confusing. Reminded of the man who left her broken, Eden found it hard to even look at Ellen. As such, Eden’s sole Pokemon, a Honchkrow, became an impromptu caretaker. Even at such a young age, Ellen vaguely remembers strange men in masks and skin suits would constantly roll through her house. They spoke of great change, a revolution to sweep the nation of Orre.

Only a few years passed before the men stopped coming. Likewise, shortly after their numbers decreased, Ellen and her mother moved to Agate Village. From there, Ellen and Eden lived their lives in relative peace. Eden became more and more motherly towards Ellen, and the Honchkrow even offered Ellen to raise one of her hatchlings. While in the Village of the Celebi, Ellen became exposed to the wonders of Pokemon. In secret, she began training with one of Agate’s elders to become a Pokemon trainer. It was during this time that Ellen obtained Machete and developed her own strength.

However, this peace could only last for so long. On a seemingly random day, an explosion of green light radiated all throughout Agate Village, and time stopped entirely. Except for Ellen and Eden. Scared and confused in the frozen world, Ellen was dragged by her mother to the Agate Stone. Resting atop the pillar was Celebi, the pixie of the forest herself. In a means of talking without words, Celebi explained to both Ellen and her mother that they were destined for great things, and that she would bless them with the power of sight. Laying a kiss upon their foreheads, when they awoke, a scene of chaos was built all around them. The second cluster had appeared, and Ellen’s mind essentially exploded, overrun with the possibilities of the future. She fell into a deep coma shortly after seeing the protector of time disappear.

When Ellen awoke, she was in an entirely new place. Later discovered to be Pyrite Town, she and her mother had apparently left Agate directly after the cluster appeared. Now in the City of Rogues, Ellen was lost and alone, thrown into a city torn apart by violence. Further, Eden became increasingly distant once more. Intense headaches plagued Ellen, but it seemed as if Eden held a more refined version of Ellen’s powers - instead of a probabilistic view of the future, it seemed as if Eden held the one true path to the future, and she was terrified of what she saw.

Mysterious men resumed appearing in their new house, located underground in the Under Keep. Ellen doesn’t remember them specifically, but she does remember being constantly afraid. She lived in a constant state of fear for several years until one day when Ellen was out, she returned to her house and found it utterly destroyed. Her mother was missing, and all that remained was a note tucked away in Ellen’s bed, buried under a mountain of rubble. In unusually scribbly handwriting, Eden informed Ellen of the planned kidnapping but also told her that her future was with the Lab. As such, Ellen left Pyrite and headed for the Lab, set on finding her mother once more.

Pokemon:
Princess Murkrow Icarus the Murkrow - Male, Prankster.

Ellen’s starter Pokemon, she received Icarus as an egg from Ellen’s mother’s own starting Pokemon, a Honchkrow. At the age of 6, the egg hatched, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Icarus is quite the prankster. His developed intelligence allows him to interact with humans in intelligent and creative ways. He is slightly manipulative and even a tad sadistic. Icarus is also very defensive of Ellen and the other team mates. While Icarus lacks the brawn and bulk to take down threats, he holds his own in battle by combining unique strategy with shady tactics. Often found perched on Ellen’s shoulder.

Machete the Ursaring - Male, Guts

Ellen’s powerhouse of the team. Machete was a weak Teddiursa when Ellen found it, starving in the outskirts of Agate. However, when Ellen was able to slowly nurse it back to health, Machete became loyal and formidable as a battler. It likewise became defensive of Ellen and her mother, capable of warding off most mundane threats. Now an Ursaring, Machete is capable of tearing apart humans and Pokemon alike with no reservations. Anybody threatening Ellen or her teammates have to go through Machete first, which is no easy feat.

Xatu - Female, Magic Bounce

Perhaps the strangest Pokemon on Ellen’s team, Xatu doesn’t consider herself as a captured Pokemon. Sure, Xatu has a Pokeball, but that’s only for storage and protection. Xatu joined Ellen’s team rather recently - Xatu was a gift from Ellen’s mother only days before her kidnapping. Ellen is Xatu’s equal, and they both understand that Xatu is so much more than just a Pokemon. With similar precognitive abilities, Xatu and Ellen are able to benefit from each other. Xatu is pretty weak as it is, but strong psychic powers allow for her to stand her ground when needed.

Violet the Ambipom - Female, Pickup

Violet (typically called Vi) was a gift from one of the elders of Agate, obtained mere days before the cluster appeared and she left. While Ellen and Violet don’t always see eye to eye because of conflicting definitions of “ownership,” Vi has proven to be a formidable ally to Ellen’s team. With double handed fist-tails of fury, Violet is nimble and strong. She takes a sort of motherly role towards Ellen and her team, feeling morally obligated to enact the elder’s last wish. As such, she becomes especially offensive when any of her allies are threatened. She and Machete form Ellen’s offensive core of the team.

Powers:
Thinker - Stage 7

Ellen holds a developing sense of precognition. While it is relatively minor compared to the levels of precognition that many strong Thinkers are able to achieve, Ellen is able to reliably see several seconds into the future. Occasionally, however, Ellen is able to see further. This only occurs for major events of “descending darkness,” such as the cataclysm and other similar events. Because nothing is set in stone for these far off occurrences, countless endings are visualized by Ellen, and as the event approaches, the likelihood of each outcome changes. This makes Ellen’s powers unreliable for events far off but incredibly useful for events that take place several seconds away (where the chances of it happening are near 100%). This makes her much more difficult to hit in physical combat, where she knows your attacks. However, this leaves her entirely vulnerable to surprise - against a strong, experienced fighter that knows how to deal with her, Ellen has no chance of winning the fight. Ellen also has heightened concentration and multi-tasking skills, so she isn’t entirely overwhelmed when observing the infinite possibilities of the future.

Tinker - Stage 3

A minor power that hardly compares to other Tinkers, Ellen has gained a small affinity with technology. While she is certainly handy with a screwdriver and general building of things, her true strengths are functions of her Thinker ratings. While there are many different possible creations associated with her powers, she only knows how to construct a device used to illustrate her thoughts and ideas. Quite like a modified Etch-a-Sketch designed to read the thoughts of the user, Ellen is able to directly portray her thoughts onto a tablet constructed of simple glass, metal, and sand. These can be illustrations, sentences, or countless other representations of her thoughts. This helps Ellen maintain clarity and order in her seemingly disorganized brain. This power is relatively new to Ellen’s knowledge - she hasn’t explored it to its maximum, but it is unlikely that this power will develop much further.

Ok. In general (this is a minor complaint with a disproportionate spiel): people are being very liberal with giving their characters a rating of 10 on the scale. 10 is for those whose powers are ridiculously out there, and it's ok if you don't have a ten rating: in fact, 99.99% of the parahumans in Orre probably don't.

To give you an idea of how hard it is to achieve a 10 rating: Sara, for example, is a Tinker who can literally improve upon the work of Victor Frakenstein... And manage her creations with an AI that puts Skynet and GLaDOS to shame. She can create new forms of life, and improve on what's already there.

She still has a /9/ in Tinkering. Not a ten.

The 10s are truly the extraordinary cases. Molly has a 10 Stranger rating because she can create multiple detailed illusions simultaneously while having them all act independently of her and each other. Because of the nature of her power, she can even fool night vision. And she can do this all within a radius of half a kilometer around her, leaving her capable of fooling entire portions cities and making them fall for her ruse if she plays her cards right. She can, in mid combat, make you look exactly like one of your enemies so that you're taken down by friendly fire.

/That's/ a ten rating. It's the Organization's way of saying "You know what? This power is ridiculous. Screw you guys, I'm going home." I mean, there's a reason that someone like, to single out names, Clydus is left relatively unmolested by everyone despite openly being a cape (and one with powers that are coveted by both sides, at that).

TL;DR: Be a little less liberal with the scores, basically. The rant was entirely disproportionate to the crime (especially because it's an easy fix), but it keeps my logic clear.

In order for the SUs:
Dragon Master: I see barely any change to your SUs, and the main issue I asked you to address is completely untouched. No.
TheoreticalSelkie: Just knock down Jack's Breaker rating to 8 and he should be fine. Taire's potential power will need kink sorting out, but that can be done when/if he gets them later and therefore is no obstacle to both characters being accepted.
Lightning Dash: Chelsea looks mostly good. Her Stranger should be knocked down to about 7 or 8. It's powerful, but not to that extent. Her Striker is more problematic: it doesn't really play well with the Krane Effect. Fix those two things, and you should be fine, though.
Princess Crow: Ellen is mostly good. The main phrase that's giving me fits is in her description of her Thinker ability, specifically, that she knows how to counter all moves against her. No. That's an instant win condition. Could future sight help? Absolutely. But it won't give you a perfect counter every time. It'll make you far harder to hit, but not impossible. Not by a long shot.

Death's spook, I do know I didn't change very much, but I thought that I made most of the changes in the area you wanted changed? You wanted the personality improved right? Well, I know i didn't really do that much improving.... Alright, I might try one more time, but I really don't think my writing skills are good enough for me to do anything more.

Princess Crow

Edited. Said that she can often evade less experienced attackers, but people with certain powers (or just battle experience) have a much more realistic chance of landing a hit. She's likewise incredibly frail, so a single punch can sometimes be all it takes.

You've used that term a lot, but you haven't EXACTLY explained what a Cape is. Could you be so kind as to do that? :P

Looks good. Her Shaker seems to be quite a bit highly rated, but it's a minor complaint that won't impede the fact that she's accepted.

I'm assuming I'm accepted so I'll get started writing an intro post up at some point.

As for changes, I knocked down Jack's Breaker ability to a 7, and Taire got nerfed down to a 5 across the board. I'm not a very good judge of which ratings would be meant for which so I dunno. Might PM you later about Taire's powers so I can get that fixed, DS.

Hope I'm not too late.

Name: Isaak Kämpfer
Age: 21
Side: Neutral, currently allied with Cipher
Rank: Covert Ops Specialist for Hire
Gender: Male
Appearance: A tall, skinny male, standing at 6'5" (196 cm) and weighing in at a mere 190 lbs. (86 kg), Isaak tends to tower over most people he comes across when standing at full height, which he almsot always does when standing. His brown hair is kept commando-standard short, his green eyes usually slightly unfocused when he's not on the job. His face isn't clean shaven, keeping a 3-Day beard, half out of not caring, half out of comfort. His skin is tanned with experience, with scars collecting around his shoulders, wrists, and chest from using his power.

His combat dress is what he lives in. Simple tight black uniform, black cargo pants to keep some equipment in, but nothing too extravagant, as he can jury-rig tools with his powers. He cut out holes by his shoulder blades and cut the sleeves on his jacket a little short for when he needs to grow some weapons on short notice. He has a small silver locket which he keeps under his clothing, a small token from his dead wife. When not on mission, he's usually seen with a first aid kit with his painkillers, and on mission he keeps several bottles in his pants pockets for quick access.

Personality: Mentally unstable, due to the pain caused by using his combat powers. Talking to him outside of operations usually gets a backhanded, ironic comment in return, or a cryptic remark which rarely applies to the situation. He has as single track mind for getting the job done, and has enough operational experience to not get easily distracted or sidetracked. He just ... doesn't have a lot when it comes to free time. Very happy to shoot first, ask questions never when it comes to obstacles in his path. He doesn't really have any sense of morality except for problems pertaining to his own survival. Sadistic and cruel in combat, he's not afraid to cheat to get higher ground, and will often try to break his enemies in any way he can to keep them from getting up. He doesn't have much opinion of working in a team, often forcing partners/teammates to keep up with his own speed if they don't want to get left behind. He prefers to be alone. He's heavily addicted to painkillers, and will often take these as his sole form of payment. Want to get on his good side? Get him a bottle of Aspirin. He'll appreciate it, and he might show it by protecting his new source, but he won't really acknowledge it. His current situation with Cipher is a contractual one. He does what they ask, and he gets painkillers to keep him from killing himself. He doesn't really see either side of the conflict winning anytime soon, and doesn't have any sense of loyalty "to the cause". Whenever he's not running an op, he can usually be found in a quiet dark corner, mumbling to himself, usually broken fragments about his former family. It's best if you just keep walking.

His pokémon aren't really the ones to do his fighting for him, except for Rowan. He only has them around to for what they can do for him on operations; Stux is his hacker, Wes is his infiltrator, and Rowan helps in close-quarters fighting, but usually only long enough to incapacitate guards. He'll protect all his pokémon dearly however, having had them for most of the time he can still remember. If a battle situation comes up, he'll armor up and go toe-to-toe with almost any pokémon himself. If need be, he'll change the rules of engagement and have Stux bring in fire support and Rowan in melee.

History: Isaak had always been in trouble, as long as he could remember. Growing up in a place like Pyrite Town after its mining glory days did that. If you were born there, you usually fell into the "rabble" the incompetent police were, unsuccessfully, chasing after. Having been born and raised in this sad, dusty place, he quickly fell into the wrong kinds of crowds. Having dropped out of school to help a smuggling group which was paying considerably more than sitting in a school desk. At the ripe age of 17 he got involved in crime with this group, quickly earning a reputation as a runner, but rising in infamy and skill. Eventually he settled down in one of the seedier areas of Pyrite Town with Meghan, a girlfriend he met who was also in "the business". He was certainly doing well for himself, 20 with a good stake in the crime world as a free agent, taking jobs from industrial espionage, minor sabotage, the occasional assassination, and just raking in the cash and staying out of sight.

Then came the first Cluster, which changed everything. The entire town seemed to go into self-imposed quarantine as people started to sort out their new conditions. It was an economy ripe for chaos, as suddenly everyone trusted nobody. Riots between the new "parahumans" and the "normals" raged for days on end. Fortunately Isaak was smart enough to stay out of sight, not having realized his powers yet. But then one fateful night the fight came to him. Stumbling around a comparatively peaceful night, some parahuman managed to make it into the shoddy apartment where a sleeping Isaak and resting, pregnant Meghan were awakened by the door being kicked in by a confused, raging Brute. The ensuing fight was catastrophic, with Isaak only being able to win the fight by activating his powers. As the bones slid through his skin, breaking off repeatedly in combat, his wife watched in horror, unable to take in the horrific sight, although her husband did manage to defend her. Then she collapsed from the shock of it all.

He carried her personally to the hospital, blood from his open wounds and remnant trickles of his foe covering his arms. He brought her in, fighting off the stares and accusing looks. And then came the questions. Why did he kill her? "I swear I didn't." You're covered in blood, and you're the only one who could have plausibly done anything. "Check my apartment, there'll be a body..." The story spiraled out of control, and ended with him being arrested for alleged homicide and assault. Meghan died in the hospital, though he was cleared later.

His descent into madness was short, a raging self-imposed exile as he left Pyrite Town, walking through the desert until he collapsed, almost three quarters of the way to Phenac City. Picked up by a supply train heading back from a run between Agata Forest and the city, he was nursed back to health in a hospital before disappearing. He was thoroughly broken, and couldn't find any purpose. However, life went on, as he trekked towards the Under, starting to get desperate for anything to ease the pain of his new-found powers. He started back up as a freelancer in the underground operations, eventually finding himself noticed and recruited by the Cipher organization. Refusing anything that would give him an inactive role on the field, he keeps out of sight of the higher decisions, only appearing for briefing and debriefing, tolerating others around him only to keep his supply of painkillers.

Pokemon:

Stux - Porygon Z
Rowan - Gallade
Wes - Kecleon

Powers:

Stranger - 3

He usually prefers to use little tricks to distract people for infiltration purposes, throwing his voice as a distraction, hiding among the crowd to get through dense areas, even being able to slightly change his appearance to mimic those he's seen before.

Changer - 8

He has extensive control over his own skeleton. He is capable of growing his own weapons as needed, changing their density to make them heavier or lighter, even able to grow small areas of armor as needed. If he can, he'll avoid using this too frequently, as the resulting wounds are painful, though he never seems to run out of bone to work with. Because of this, he's heavily addicted to painkillers, and it contributes to his loosening grip on reality.

Striker - 5

He has two abilities which he'll use, both of which require physical contact.

Neural Feedback - Temporarily reverses the polarity of the target's neurons. The longer contact is held increases the areas of the body which is effected, ultimately to full shutdown of the target's motor neurons, incapacitating but never killing the target after 5 minutes.

Sound of Madness - Upon contact, a flood of Isaak's damaged memories run through the target's brain, hopefully confusing and temporarily stunning them, allowing for an escape or a devastating counterattack. However, focused enemies tend to show resistance to this, as well as practiced telepaths.

Sound of Madness - Upon contact, a flood of Isaak's damaged memories run through the target's brain, hopefully confusing and temporarily stunning them, allowing for an escape or a devastating counterattack. However, focused enemies tend to show resistance to this, as well as practiced telepaths.

I think I got looked over...

Whoopsy.

I like the idea. Quite a bit (do you read Worm at all? That guy's powers sound quite a bit like Marquis). Stranger and Striker probably need tier numbers switched. And (I didn't mention this) the Outskirt Stand is destroyed. Thoroughly. It got mysteriously obliterated a few years before the lab was exploded.

But other than those very minor details, your SU looks good. Pending those modifications, assume you're accepted.

I actually don't read Worm, so I'll take your word for it.
Switched with each other, or just changed? Sorry, despite my best attempts at English, I'm a German at heart (and in mind).
That's an easy enough fix, smuggling rings can start just about anywhere.

The numbers need to be switched. Your Striker sounds like a level 5 ability, not a 3. Visa-versa for your Stranger.

I'll be getting to my post this weekend, hopefully, barring my college's short story contest doesn't distract me. It's due March 1, and I've only come up with a rough idea of what I'm doing.

I'm also a bit ill at the moment, so motivation goes ACK.

I decided to axe my other two characters and just play Emma only for now. If I decide to write out my other two peeps then I'll finish it later sometime when we need more characters. For now, I don't have the creative energy for Jade and Skylar.

Anywho, getting a post up either today or Monday for Emma. :)

Going to try and get a post this weekend, but I'm not promising anything. Stressed still and trying to avoid the forum for the most part.

I would post, but I'm still waiting on confirmation that I'm accepted. Or I'd edit it appropriately if I wasn't.

I thought I already told you you're accepted Crow. I could have sworn I did.

Oh XD. In that case, I'll start writing up a post ASAP!

Don't rely on me to post. If I can post I will, but if not, just do whatever. No one is even in my area where I'll start anyway so I can always come in later on.

Well I didn't mean to write that much oops. Been a while since I did any sort of RPing, though rest assured, replies will not be slow if I have anything to do about it.

Will write one up for Taire later though he really doesn't interact that much at this point.
