Regardless, it's a time of celebration for a number of people as we move from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse.

Chinese New Years usually means money for me, so I'm always excited, but I've always enjoyed the it personally. Chinatown in my city is always festive, sadly there wasn't any dragon dance this year at our weekend festival, but it's always nice to listen to the classical chinese music that plays.

I'm a rabbit, too. There's apparently a lot of them lol.

Years ago, my cousins (who are of Chinese decent, but mostly American) thought I was Chinese because my skin turned red while we were up in their play house-thing and they thought only theirs did because they thought only the Chinese turned red. It took us an hour to figure out that it was actually the sun shining through a red tarp-like cover over the play house.

And that's the closest I've ever been to the Chinese culture.
