Hello, and welcome to PXR's first Official Shiny Event! Brush up your skills and prepare to engage in a battle of the sprites!

This February, PXR is hosting a Shiny Event in which members will participate in contests specialising in different areas to compete for the ultimate prize: shiny pokémon. But that's not all. More prizes are on their way to the donation box!


Rules:

All PXR rules apply.
You must meet the deadline to qualify for a prize.
Absolutely NO plagiarising or you will face unquestionable disqualification and an infraction. Not to mention eternal shame. Plagiarising is a serious offence that affects all parts of the forum. May also result in banning.


Contest Requirements:

In this contest, there will be two challenges.
To qualify for a prize, or even participation points, you must complete both challenges.
Both sprites have the same deadline, so you have the duration of the whole Shiny Event to get both of your sprites completed.
Both challenges will be fusions.







~First Challenge~

Your first challenge, fellow spriters, is to create a fusion. It will consist of three pokémon, but none may be Kalos pokémon because there are no official sprites. These are the requirements:

One of the pokémon must be related to a starter. It can be one in any starter's evolution chain. This gives you 45 options.
One of the pokémon must be a fully-evolved form in its chain.
The last is up to you. It can be any pokémon, except one you have already chosen, or a Kalos pokémon.

You may pick which one you use for the base, and you can also recolour it however you want. However, a recolour does NOT count as one of your three pokemon in the sprite. It is additional.





~Second Challenge~
The second challenge is a fusion of your choice that represents something to do with Pokémon Crossroads.
It may be dedicated to another member, to a pokémon you see on one of the PXR forum skins, or simply a pokémon that reminds you of PXR.
The minimum about of pokémon you can include in this fusion is two. You may fuse more than two together, however.

Have fun with these, guys. :D If you submit your sprites and then decide you're unsatisfied and want to redo them, you may, as long as it's still within the deadline time. Good luck!


Prizes are still yet to be decided, and will be announced closer to when the contests end, or during. However, prizes will not be direct--you will earn points from participating and more points for placing first, second or third.



Deadlines: the forum-wide Shiny Contest will begin on the 3rd of February at 12:00am, GMT-6, and ends on the 17th of February at 11:59pm, GMT-6.

(Random Generator gave me Blaziken, Chimecho and Crobat. I used Blaziken for the arms and the yellowish colour, Chimecho for the blue/white and the tail, and Crobat for the base.)

(I based my entry on the competition itself; Shiny Illumise for the contest, Suicune for SF, and Aipom for Dredd. I kinda changed how it looked when I realised a striking resemblance to the Blue Badger from Ace Attorney. I used Shiny Illumise for the colours and 'horns', Suicune for the 'cape', and Aipom for the base).

And you guys are so sweet. <3 Those suicune parts. And Sudoku, I'll PM you about the contest as I'm not sure you're familiar with fusions. You're not disqualified so don't worry, but they do need to be fused with pokemon rather than just recoloured. :] That doesn't really count. It's three different pokemon plus the colour. The colour doesn't have to be recolouring like another pokemon, but if you want to do it that way, then you may. :]

It's really great to see such prompt responses! :D And I'll add to the first post that if you wish to change your entries, then you may, as long as it's not past the deadline.

Since many of my posts are done when I either very tired about to go to sleep, or just slacking off instead of doing work, I decided to fuse a nice lazy Slakoth, with a sleepy Abra. I went with a green colouring because I remember how the community accepted me back when I was a green newcomer.

I took the aproach of using different pokemon to represent different people from PXR. Its a pretty simple fusion, but I couldn't think of any other representations that would work. If I think of anything else I will add it. The bulbasaur represents two people: Bulbasaur (the person who got me to join PXR in the first place) and Hkim. The Flareon. Take one guess (Hint: It's Suicune's Fire). I was also going to add a pokemon to represent Achilles, and potentially also one to represent Elbub or someone else from ASB, but I couldn't think of any good pokemon that would fit in the fusion and represent them.

I chose this one because I recently got back into spriting and tried to find PE2K (the site I used to sprite on). However, when I searched it, I was taken to a thread here that said it was taken down. So for now, and hopefully for a long time, PXR is my substitute.

andmcadams: Lol it's okay, we all double post once in a while. And awesome; you were from PE2K? O: I do have an issue with your first sprite; as the rules state, the first fusion must be between three pokemon, not just two. Those two meet the requirements of the rules, but you must include another one please. :] You have until the due date to complete another.

(For Second Challenge) I chose Abra and Pikachu to be in my sprite because, since I'm almost never here and Abra's always teleport away I chose Abra. I chose Pikachu because it reminds me of PxR also because it is my favorite pokemon
