Song 7

"So our entire existence is going to be put in the hands of the general public, is what you're basically saying to us," Wainwright asked in slight disbelief. I nodded to her, a worried smile on my face, as I glanced across the room occupied with a handful of my OCs. I mean, who can blame me? A good writer is meant to tear apart their characters to see how they would act under pressure, or something like that, anyway.
"Yeah," I said. "Hope you don't mind and all that jazz... You know, I I thought it would be a fun little thing-"
"A fun little thing."
My words were stopped by Joe, and he did not look happy. "Listen, you don't understand. I have stuff to be doing, you know? I have things to tend to! I'm a human as well! I do stuff too!"
"No, no, no!" I panicked. "This is a side quest. This has almost nothing to do with your day-to-day lives, see?"
The room was filled with grumbles of "not really" and "hypothetically, it could" and "nope" and other similar remarks. I sighed in defeat and slumped onto the floor. They weren't quite getting it. "Guys, all you need to know is that I'm borrowing you for a couple of short stories, and I don't quite know what stories they're going to be. Is that okay?"
"I think I speak for all of us when I say no, am I correct?" Wainwright said again. I gave her a glare, ignoring the cries of "yes, you do" and "finally someone said it" coming from behind her. "Joe made a very good point when he said we have stuff to be doing."
"We're all on a very tight schedule, in case you were too busy with your head in the plot to notice your characters," Joel added, crossing his arms.
"Okay, sit down, all of you!" I yelled. I'd had enough of their ignorance. "You don't have a choice! You're my characters and I can do whatever the hell I want with you! Stupid me for thinking I had OCs who understood anything... Well, I guess you'll all have to sit around not knowing what to because your ignorant little brains can't comprehend a stupid little instruction!" Not quite satisfied with my semi-controlled outburst, I stormed out of the room, almost immediately detecting an outburst behind me. I hastily locked the door before anyone could get out, making my way towards the kitchen. I was mildly hungry.
Of course, I forgot that the studio audience was watching everything. Not only that, but they only came in halfway through, and they missed my explanation of the entire thing. "Oh... well, hey," I hesitantly addressed them. "You, uh, might need an explanation, I guess..."

AN:: I stumbled across a thing on Tumblr. You go to a random number generator, generate a number between 1 and 100, and find the corresponding number on a graph of random scenarios. For example, if I got 3 from the generator, it would be "Stuck in an Elevator Shaft" according to the graph I have. But then I thought of an idea. What if I let the general public choose the numbers? It would keep me writing, for sure. So, here's how it works.
You pick a number between 1 and 100. You won't know what scenario that number corresponds to, so you won't know how the story's gonna turn out. You do, however, know the characters. I'll have a list of characters down below that I've used for various stories in progress / scrapped stories / RPs / completed stories, and you choose the sets. A set, in this case, is a group of characters who have to be together. You can choose a maximum of 3 sets in total (the only exception is if you decide to have set a and b together, in which case only those two are allowed), and I'll label each set according to a letter. You comment your number and your letter(s) in the format NXA where N is a number, X is a letter, and A is any additional comments; I then write a flash fic or a one-shot accordingly.
So, without further ado, here are the character sets. I may add some more later.

a - Daniele Bassi, Emiko Yukimura, Joe White and Aggie Clausen
The basic plot of the story these four come from is that they're dead and they have to solve the mysteries behind their deaths within a year together. While Daniele is quite passive-aggressive in his actions, Emiko is very sarcastic, and whereas Joe doesn't do much unless he wants to, Aggie does everything she can to avoid others.
b - Andrew McDonald, Mike Pecking, Joel Tulken, Nina Winters
These four work together in London solving crimes in an experiment set up by the police. Andrew is a Scottish detective who also plays saxophone in a jazz band, Mike is a champion boxer, Joel is some kind of American hipster know-it-all (almost literally) and Nina is the eccentric criminal profiler / method actress.
c - Wainwright Paddleford and Gina Hunt
Wainwright is, again, a detective working pretty much everywhere, and is currently in charge of taking care of her niece Gina, who's still trying to persuade Wainwright to let her go to some screamo band's concert next year. They both are very fond of hair dye, albeit Wainwright's hair is strictly pink and shall never be another colour. If the story needs to involve more than two characters you may also see Harry, Wainwright's co-worker, or Isla, Gina's best friend.
d - Rogue Mannix and Danielle Adams
Ah, my babies. They met while the former was having a near-death experience in an alley, and they now live together as lovers somewhere in America (I forgot the exact location, I'll have to ask again). They're pretty much the same other than one's currently attending an online college and the other doesn't even know what trigonometry is. Dani belongs to ZoeticKitty so I'll notify her before I do something with these two. If the story needs to involve more than two characters you may also see Steven, Dani's ex, or various other characters from the RP these two came from.
e - Matilda and Oscar O'Malley
The bond between brother and sister is a very hard one to sever if it's well-built, and it's certainly true with these two. Although Oscar's nearly ten years older than Matilda, you very rarely see them apart unless Oscar's working, and they both enjoy exploring and art. If the story needs to involve more than two characters you may also see Hannah, Oscar's girlfriend, or Sylus, Matilda's imaginary friend.
f - Riley Pembleton and Tim Cotton
These two actually come from the RP you may have seen me post on the RP Brainstorm thing, and they're the reason why it's taking me so damn long to post it. They hail from Brighton, and while Riley's very erratic with his emotions and usually causes a lot of drama, Tim's just... hiding in his flat, really. Or so it looks like it. They actually come from the 90s, however if you pair them up with another character set I can certainly adapt them to fit the present.

So, friends, feel free to make of this as you wish, and comment below with your requests!

((Side note: If I get a "Roll again", I'll do exactly that. I'll get a generator to choose another number. Same for "Writer's Pick"; I'll just pick a scenario myself.))

((No-one's commented anything yet! In the meantime, I may write something to go here myself n_n))
