So I finally saw Frozen today. I know I'm a bit slow on the bandwagon here but the cinema is just so darn expensive nowadays :~(

Anyway, I was wondering what you guys who have seen it thought of it?

Personally I thought it was good, but not worth the weird internet hype that's been built up around it.

I totally digged the ending though. I love seeing Disney move away from their "saved by a prince" motif they have been so prone to in the past; the fact that Anna was saved by her sister instead of a man got the feminist in me really excited!

I thought the songs needed to be spaced out a bit more. But I did NOT see the big twist coming.

Ugh yeah, there were too many songs in too short a space of time. Some songs were completely unnecessary and annoying I thought, like when they're in the ice castle I was like pls stop. Let It Go is so catchy though!

I actually haven't watched this yet, mostly because I think it's over hyped and the general plot doesn't seem to interest me! When it comes to the songs I've read that a lot of people wish they were spaced out, but I think the movie is meant to be a musical, right? So there will be songs fairly often.

Yeah the plot as a whole seems a little clichéd to me. It having way too many songs is sort of to be expected really, Disney do have a habit of doing that.

Well, seeing as how all the songs are duets at the most and all of the voice actors were Broadway musical stars, this movie was meant to promote its future Broadway show. I guarantee it. ;P

I liked the movie, though. I was pleasantly surprised at the realistic and down-to-earth messages about love in this movie and the fact that the ending was pretty atypical. I just wish Kristoff had had an ACTUAL song. I love Jonathon Groff's voice.

Edit: Ok, slight correction for accuracy. There's ONE choral piece, with the chanting before the movie starts, and the male chorus opening song that are more than duets.

Frozen Heart (the song at the very beginning) seemed kind of unneeded and is completely forgettable imo. I only remember the Honest Trailers version "We're cutting ice... Because we're cutting ice". If you've listened to the deleted songs, I think it would have been cool if they added the Spring Pageant one instead. I definitely liked it though.

Ya, I didn't like how they packed all those songs together as well. The twist was interesting, if at least not too surprising. The ending was not typical for a Disney movie, so I can't really complain about that either. The movie overall was good, but didn't deserve the Oscars in comparison to heavy hitters like Wind Rises or Rebellion (which didn't even get a nomination).

Saw it just yesterday. Great movie, but yeah, I'll admit it was very jam-packed with songs. Still, the animation and effects were fantastic and very well done. The characters were also quite enjoyable and had a nice variance of personalities.

But yeah, I can see Disney putting Frozen On Ice (hurr hurr, I know) and/or making a musical out of it sometime in the near future. They never did explain just how Elsa got her powers, so yeah, plenty of grounds for a sequel too while they're at it. :P

I doubt there's a story behind how she got her powers. They say she was born with them in a way that says "She's always had them; we're not concerned with why." But with Disney's big push towards Broadway in recent years, I really did see this movie as specifically being set up to make an easy transition to the stage.

Great movie. Pretty sure disney has been wanting to do a movie about an Ice Princess for a LONG time.

I'm sure we can all relate to this:

F**k it All (Parody of Let it go) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aznFLJ5qjl8)

Vulgar language warning, but ah, it's worth it. XD

My brother showed me this and I was definitely compelled to share. :P

I finally got to watch this and [aside from my inherited calling of plot twists like a boss skill I obtained from my mother] it was a pretty good movie. Though I question some plot choices in the story...

Also Neo, congrats for making me reel, cry and die of laughter.

I've seen Frozen, and yes, I have to agree with the Broadway statement. I think that's why it had so many songs; they might be making it into a musical, and as we all know, musicals are meant to have quite a few songs in them. Let It Go (no surprise) is my all-time favorite song. I love both the English and Japanese versions, they're both so pretty!

The story was pretty interesting and I enjoyed the characters. Olaf was hilarious!

I saw it only a few weeks ago and I actually really enjoyed it. I didn't like all the songs simply because I don't really care for musicals. I prefer dialogue instead of songs... xD I did really like Let It Go and that point in the story, however, because that was well done. I felt like the movie was too short... xD I know it was regular length, but in terms of story, I would have been entirely happy if they had a longer movie, especially during the journey to Elsa's ice castle.

I adore that the movie was themed around family love instead of romantic love because...that just gets annoying. This was refreshing. Voice acting was spot on (duh xD), the story was well executed and all the characters were great. All in all, good movie and I enjoyed it a lot more than I predicted I would! (Although I did expect a lot based on the acclaim. xD)
