I try to use a gif (Non animated) as an avatar, and it's telling me the png has the wrong extension. Of course it has the wrong extension, because it's not a png. What's going on? Is the forum only allowing png avatars? Why?

Eh, I'm actually not sure what the issue is (I've tried looking up and down the ACP multiple times, maybe someone else will figure it out before I do. xD), but in the future (as well as anyone else who might have this issue), just make sure you use imgur or perhaps photobucket to upload your avatars. n_n

I believe the issue is that if you take an image from an older Vbulliten Forum, the image has lost some of it's extensions and might not work. The best bet is to either upload it in imgur or Photobucket, or even upload from your computer if it works for you.

Not sure if this was done on purpose, but there seems to be a big space between the text in our posts and our signatures. It makes posts look a bit large, and I think it would look a lot better with a much smaller gap. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, that's because of the avatar/join date/posts/blogs/location etc box on the side. The more stuff you have in that box, the longer the space. o: I think that's vB4, not sure if fixable, or if it would look funny if fixed. o:

Alright, I've been using that new Darkrai skin, and it's super snazzy! However, I've noticed that for VM's the "Post Message" text is black, making it hard to see ^^'

It's in sections where you don't have any powers. Like before I was an X and Y Mod, I couldn't edit my thread titles in X and Y. But I can now.

OK, My inbox is acting up. Every time I go to the main page of the Forum, it says I have a new message...Which I already checked. When I tried to delete the offending message, it worked initially...But when I left the inbox, the main page still insisted I had a new PM, and my Inbox had the PMs I just deleted. Clicking on them led me to an invalid link, so the forum recognizes they should be deleted...But they're still in the Inbox.

EDIT: On top of that, it's definitely apparent that the main forum page hasn't recognized this my post as actually having been posted-it's still saying ray_quazaa's post is the most recent. It appears the main page of the Forum is frozen, or something...

What's going on? Is this just me?

Just refresh/clear your cache and the inbox/last post mistake thing should go away. I was having the same issue myself, actually.

I can't edit any posts at all, and I have to refresh the page because it freezes up. I can't click "Cancel" or "Submit" or "Go advanced", it just gives me that box and then the forum freezes up. Weird!

Coolio. If it's an important add-on and you want to keep it on, you could try just adding pxr to the allow list or something. :)

I don't even see it because for me I've turned them off and to do that you can go to Settings > General Settings > User Customizations > Hide User Customizations and you will be able to see everything. Because when I went to look at it I'm like WTH are you guys talking about then I realized I have mine off so I never have to worry about that. xD

I can't really do much about it if they want their profile text colour to be white, it just won't work on every theme. The same thing happens with other themes that have white backgrounds for VMs, which is most of them ^^; They should be able to edit the background color themselves too though.

There are guidelines in the rules, but honestly we are pretty lax. As long as its not giant and/or causing lag, we won't be too fussy. At worst, you will just be asked to change it.

The icon that tells you if you posted in a particular thread doesn't appear on threads that I know I posted in when viewing them in any forum's listing. This is an issue with all the skins. I seem to remember this feature working when I first joined...

Hey guys...I've noticed this for a while now, but the mention tags are kinda buggy. Whenever you use the shortcut for mention tags (the @ and the name), once you publish your post, the spacing is all weird.

For example, upon first making this post I'm going to add a mention. It will be double-spaced when I type it.

Just a measly suggestion. I was wondering if it might be possible to add,

It's just an empty space and I kind of see it as an eyesore personally.

Something like an achievements list or leveling up system or what not there.
I know I am being picky. But it would make the overall profile of a member post look nicer as well.

A lot of forums use them these days.

MuffinLad - I hear you! But oftentimes the space below the avatars is used in events to place images. This doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't use up all the space available, but it's what we keep it empty for. Perhaps in the future we can work out something more permanent. The size of the space is dependent on how much space your signature takes up, too. Because you have a tall signature, the space is going to be huge. But if you scroll up and look at ray_quazaa, he has little to no space beneath his avatar due to having no signature. So yeah, because of these differences, it can be hard to cater for everyone.

I think I've had this issue a couple times.

Try changing the password on what you're using to log in (I'm guessing you're using your laptop or desktop right now), and then log out on all devices. Clear out the cookies on all devices just to be sure. Then log in again on all your devices using the new password. Hopefully that works.

If that actually works, then there's something screwy with the first browser you were using, but if the new browser doesn't work either, then it's something with either the device or you may need to try another password because of a difference from your phone's keyboard in comparison to your computer's keyboard. Something with only numbers might work as a test just to see if you can at least try to log in with something on the mobile device.

It's definitely the browser then. Something saved in either the history or the cache is causing that and it's just not working now. Might have been caused by something they revised in an update.

You could either stick with Chrome (I use Chrome and it's been great) or clear the cache and history on the original browser, see if there are any updates, and try again. But if that still doesn't work, I say just stick with Chrome.

You've tried emptying out both your Inbox as well as your Sent Items folder?

I checked on the Admin side and it doesn't look like PMs were disabled for you in any way.

It's been happening for months on my phone, and has started on my tablet as well, however hasn't made a massive impact until recently.

No matter how many times I tick the Remember Me box, my phone won't stay logged in if I am off PXR for more than the half hour period that it keeps you online. Even weirder is the fact that I don't even need to log in. I click on the PXR banner to reload the main page and it logs me back in. Hence why I never bothered reporting it.

Except recently I tried searching the forums and found it logs me out when I open the search page, and won't let me search if I am not logged in...

The main two devices going it are a Samsung Galaxy S10, using Samsung Internet, and a Samung Galaxy Tab S7, using google Chrome, though the Tab is less frequent.

Any ideas?

I've been looking into it, but yeah, this has been a Vbulletin-wide problem for a while from what I've been finding. One person said clearing the CMS cache might help, but I'm not sure how exactly that's done.

Could try clearing your browser's cache from your side to see if that helps at all.

From what I've seen and tried I think it might be the directory. The forum link changed when we swapped over not too long ago. So links for everything are kinda broken. Click "Forum" tab on the forum and it'll be on the old version where it has you logged out. Click the smaller forum tab underneath where it says "New Posts" and it'll take you to the new and current site. Click Members and it'll have you logged out and on the old version logged out, but click a new page (I.e: page 2 for viewing more members) and you're logged back in.

I think there's just a lot of broken links to take you to the correct place it's trying to take you. Logging you back out in the old version vs the new one.

If you're on your phone. Go to Home, then open the forum from there. Log in (may have to go to the full page login and not the one up top that'd be easier. Once logged in it may not look like you are. Go to a random thread and click the smaller "Forum" tab below the "New Posts" box. It should take you to the main and current forum with you logged in.

Not sure if this was an intentional change or not, but it has become apparent to a lurker like myself.

The mechanics of Whose Online have changed. Before the 21st (from memory) it would show users who loaded a page within the last half hour. Now it is showing people who were online (at a guess) up to 90 minutes ago. It is currently 3:12 for me, showing people who loaded pages at 1:55 or so. For reference, by the old standard, I'd be the only one online, but currently it is showing about half a dozen people, most of whom haven't been active in over an hour. Not a big deal, but took me by surprise. Was this change intentional?

Truthfully nearly the whole thing needs to be cleaned out as only Mikey's writing articles these days.

Can SPAM be more routinely cleared out? Sad to come on and see the only things in the Latest Posts besides the Crossroads Bulletins be 2+ week old SPAM posts.

Obviously it would be nice to have actually genuine posts in that list too, but just the Bulletins is better than the SPAM too.

In some cases it's obvious, but in other cases it's getting harder to tell who is a bot with really good AI and who is an actual person. Yeah, imagine banning an actual person and then having to bashfully tell them "oh, I thought you were an AI bot!"
