forum loading issues.

Has anyone else noticed this? This has bothered me for the past week.

First of all, user profiles: no matter which skin I use to browse the forums, when I got to either my or anyone elses public forum profile, the tabs on the left for visitor messages and personal info and the like...well, theyre still there, but the only way I can get the content to appear is by opening that profile tab...in a new browser tab or window. This has happened with three different internet connections now. I use Google Chrome for each device I have.

Secondly, lately the forums have been pulling a "pe2k" on me, once again remaining constant within the three internet connections I've used. What I mean by this is that I will constantly.have loading troubles, half of the time the page wont even load even after refreshing it three times. Also, pages tend to load incredibly slow.

None of this stuff has ever happened to me before until lately. Whats going on here?

1) before, we would have the visitor messages show up by default, but that caused other things to break, so now you must click on a tab to show the information (such as 'about me' or 'visitor message'). I bet that's is a javascript function, so I'm not sure if others have seen it.

2) forum lag.... I personally haven't have any issues, but that is not indicative of others. Try loading the site in private or incognito mode. Is the forum loading slowly or is it all of PXR? Do you have lots of subscribed threads? All indications from my end is that the forums load at a reasonable pace. (~1 second on pingdom, me, Harry not harassing me...). Also, try a hard refresh on chrome (control shift f5?)

You can't even view the info on a person's profile on mobile, even after clicking on the tabs, which is a major issue.

MC Elesa, Caite-chan and I have all had lag issues for a few days actually. I've been mostly on mobile and it still lags like crazy. And then there are periods of time when it loads just fine.

I have trouble accessing visitor messages when I use my ipod.

Oddly enough, it lags less on mobile than Wifi. However, even on wifi other sites load fine.
Im only aware of it happening on these forums. I only have one subscribed thread.

Also, i can understand that about the tabs,..however, not even clicking on the tab will do anything. I have to right click and open that ytab in a totally new window / browser tab. This happens on both wifi and mobile.

Im wondering if some of the lag relates to the sheer number of guestd that tend to view the forums at times....

Kaoru and Speed-X: Specifically, are you viewing the forums on a mobile device as the mobile version of the forums, or as the full version of the forums? (the mobile version is white and has no skin, the full version is what you see on the desktop). The 'full version' may not work as intended on mobile (it's not touch optimized), so be wary.

And please provide me with more information that "it lags." Here's a start:

What is the lag "blank page, images aren't loading."
What page do you see the lag "all pages, front page, etc"
And: Are you logged in or not (yes, no?)

With very little of this, I can do little to help you all on lag. I can't see what you see, so consider me completely blind and reliant on you describing your problem in as much detail as possible.

As a separate issue, lets figure out the reason why tabs aren't working randomly. Speed-X, have you tried a different browser with fresh or normal settings?

Right now Im on my ATT mobile. Android OS. Google Chrome. Using full version like I do on my PC. At home its home wifi, and at school its college wifi.

Actually, i tried just now to open up a profile page on my dolphin browser, full version of the forums (Even on my pc the full version does this).

Huh. This is odd...it worked just fine on Dolphin. Perhaps its something linked to Google Chrome? And about the lag, I will have the info up in a few hours when im back home. I appreciate the help and such! And apologies, I was rushed earlier. When Im home i shouldnt be quite so rushed.... ^^;

Oh yes, and another thing about the tabs...it appears to work fine in incognito mode.

Okay wait. So far on my phone, under any circumstances Ive tried, the tabs have worked fine now. Odd, but im glad

I have the odd period of not being able to access the forum. It just says loading forever and nothing comes up. I had that problem last night, maybe 12 hours ago or so.

I'm not sure if that's necessarily lag or just the forum being down for a little bit. It was working again when I checked about half an hour later.

I've been experiencing an issue with the tabs and lag as well. The lag only onset like a day or two ago, but I've been really noticing it tonight. That's just across the whole forum. "Lag" in this case refers to slow loading times in general, both when logged in and logged out.

As for the tabs on profiles, all of them except Visitor Messages and Friends don't open when clicked on when I'm using my phone, and take a really long time to load on my laptop. I've been experiencing that since I signed up. Again, this happens both when logged in and logged out. It also happens regardless of what skin I'm using (ie happens in both desktop and mobile mode)

I use an iPhone 4 running iOS7 using Safari, and a laptop running Windows 8 using Google Chrome, both on home wi-fi.

(On a somewhat unrelated note, I can't open spoilers when using mobile mode on my phone, but can when using desktop mode on it. Just thought I'd throw that in there!)

I too have had problems with peoples profiles. If I want to view people's VM's I have to click on their profile and then VM's. I sometimes have problems on my phone when I'm at work. But then again I'm hiding in the bathroom and I have to use WiFi down there. At home I haven't had many problems.

I've squashed one bug that could be causing some loading issues. Please let me know if you see any more loading issues.

Awesome! For me, the tabs are working exactly as they should on my computer, now. And I haven't had any real lag here all day. Thank you, rayquazaa! I just hope that this solves everyone else's problems, too.
