Welcome to the world of Gible Bites. Inspired by GCEA Emerald, this story comic will focus around Lucian's Pokemon. As he captures new pokemon so to will they be added to the comic. While the title and name of the comic focus on Gible. The comic will focus on a couple of different groups. Hopefully I make this a weekly comic. Can you tell me if the first comic in the gible bites thread is readable? On my pc it looks like the letters are to small.

Figured I would answer this here. It is kinda hard to read. I would increase the size of the comic in the future.

My only real critisism is that the text boxes seem to have gone over some of the lines and thinned them out in spots. Oh, and what is it that the Gible and Piplup have on their chests? Is it a tie?

Part of the theme of the comic is that the people writing always get his name wrong...lol Your most recent comic helped me get started on this one. If you end up creating a response Im sure Ill laugh my but off..

I find your comics amusing, but you have a lot of drawing/text size issues. Firstly, NEVER EVER resize anything in Paint EVER unless you're doing it by every 100%. Otherwise the image distorts and everything gets destroyed.

Secondly, NOBODY can read those small comics so don't even bother with them. xD If you do bother with them, redo the text normal size. Never resize text in Paint, either. Or in anything. You have to get your image size right and add the text at the end.

Another thing is, some of the wording and grammar. xD It's fine for the most part, but if you'd like, I could help you with the text before you add it to the comics so that there are no typos or other errors. xD

ANYWAY, the comic is great. xD I really like the style you do it in and you have a good sense of humour. It's cool that he answers questions in such obscure ways. XD Like the babies one. Parasites. I'd love to hear him explain that in-depth. xD I LOVED the first one with the pictures of an angry piplup every day. xD That was great.

Keep it up, but remember the sizing issue. ;]

Thanks for the comment! I really enjoyed how Psyduck came out. I went to college to major in film. When I drew the comic I drew as if I were drawing a storyboard for something I was about to film. Thanks again!

Lol! That was awesome. xD I like how they all dressed up. :] Mickey Mouse. xD And in the last panel, where the candy bag is a pumkaboo. The prehistoric tale was quite amusing. xD Also, Gible says "I almost the most important part" instead of "I almost forgot the most important part" at one point. xD And Wooper says "suppose to" when it should be "supposed to." :]

I love the details you include. xD You always come up with the wildest things. It greatly amuses me that Gible thinks he's really knowledgeable when he's clearly not. xD

Also as usual thanks for the support ! I like the nazi suicune I think she will be a semi regular chaeacter. I'm thinking about added a couple more comeo-mon to the comic. Harry and Sarah may be next.

Thank you for the feedback ! I love drawing animals in those natural form trying to mix that into my Pokemon style has been fun. I've already designed the characters for you and Harry just gotta lock down the way to add them.

That's an extremely important point you're raising there, Dredd. I have had first-hand experience with depression and friends of mine have suffered quick drastically from it. It's really sad and terrible, and worst of all, so many people don't understand it and are quick to dismiss its severity. I really like the way you've done this.

AND LOL THE BUTTHOLE POKEMON. I laughed so much at that. It was brilliant; I wasn't expecting that at all. XD Also I love how Blastoyse is on the paper marked as missing. xD It's true. Poor Blastoyse! He's been shunned to a place of non-production. xD

The last couple of weeks have been a wide range of emotions. It's easier to talk about this kind of stuff in a way that you are comfortable with. I'm glad the messsage came across respectful.
I miss blastoyse comic, having a comic is tough. Having another PXR comic made things a little easier. It also motivated me an set a bar. So in Gibles sadness I needed to show that blastoyse was missed.
This weeks comic is going to be super random and features a ton of Pokemon yet to appear. Also I'm working on a one shot comic just about suicune.

LOOOOOOOOOOL! That was perfect. I think that his jokes are pretty witty, but definitely not laugh-out-loud ones, haha. Aww Patty! That's so cute that she liked his jokes! AND LOL HE ATE HER FAMILY. That's horrifying but hilarious. XD Got some corrections for you:

Second panel – “use to” should be “used to”

Panel where Gible is ducking from the bottle being thrown at him – “making it out of their” should be “making it out of there” :]

Skuntank joke panel – The first exclamation mark should be a question mark because he’s asking a question.

The panel with Gible’s joke about Arrr-ceus – You wrote “alos” instead of “also”

Corey's speech in the following panel he's in: "Dazzling gem" should be "Dazzling gleam" I assume, if you're sticking to the move. xD Which is a very funny line.
Gible's speech when recounting the Patty situation: "Afterwords" should be "Afterwards" and "Tell that to Patty's heart that" has an extra "that" on the end which you should get rid of. xD

1. Im really glad you enjoyed it!
2. I had a lot of fun making this and I tried a slightly different style then my normal Gible Bites.
3. This comic let me set up a lot of things! Pokemon Trainer Sarah Hit it on the nose. This comic is linked to an upcoming story for Gible. This comic is also not complete !! there are two frames missing from this that will be added in the next day or two. They are about the background story! Ill try to finish those.
4. I created a stand alone story for Grace ! I did that just incase I wanted to come back this. I also left it open for you Grace if you ever wanted to try your hand at one shot or something like that.
5. There will be a second part to this ! Not sure how soon but I have more people in mind for the next half.

I hope no one got offended by the little jokes in this. I really didnt get to do much with some of the cameos. Mike and Sam stick out. I thought I got a good laugh with Corey and Calebs. Ray and Mike will be featured in one of the deleted panels..as will Keldeo Dash ;)

@Trainer 17 - Im glad you liked it Sam. I really wanted to paint a world based on this forum. I really had a hard time picking out a pokemon for you! Two pokemon came to mind. Floatilze and Greeninja! I ended up picking Float because he is energetic strong willed and pretty friendly! I picked a water type because you were a firefighter.
Dragon Master Mike- Dude look out for the extra panel!!! It will have your character. Also I suck at making ipods! lol

I only know a little about people on the forum so picking pokemon for people other than the admins is difficult! Some people were easy because there user names. Grace and Ray couldnt have been easier. Others like you, and Sam were harder because I needed to find pokemon that fit the characters personality at least how I was portraying them. When I get my own subsection Im hoping to have a what pokemon would you be kind of thread !

They were Grimers ;) Originally I was going to make them super cute but I really liked the frat boys so I wanted to continue that. I

I want to include some of you ASB guys, but its hard because I know you guys very causally. For you I would pick a more relaxed pokemon who is patient and smart so i would consider Elgyem or Beheeyem to play off of that., Velo would be more of a strong willed pokemon like growlithe, Death is really clever...he would be a sneasel. I only really know the three of you out of that whole section..lol

Im glad you liked it, you are one of the first people to follow this comic so keeping you amused is important to me!

Ray's part really was only touched on. Im going to try and take some time to think of how to take the next step for where I want the the story to go. You can bet it will feature the rest of the admins in a big way!

I really liked all the different poses and facial expressions they held, and how you now redraw them for each frame! It's great. And ahaha, the sweat got me in the desert panel. xD Especially the puddle under Drifloon's head. xD The cloud on his head is like hair...ahaha. AND THE SEALEO'S FACE. WOW. XD Nicely done.


One grammatical thing is that in the sealeo's speech, I think it should say "our side of the playground" instead of "the side of the playground." Other than that, you're gold. :]

I think that the spheal children makes slightly less sense now that only one of the roughnecks is a sealeo, and also, if they're in school, having all those kids is a little odd too. xD Just thought I'd point it out.

Thanks for the kind words! I realized i had devolped my paint skills and comfort over the last year. I felt confident that this remake was a big improvement..i also noticed that it was a little odd only taking speals now..lol

Awww Gible! You slept through Christmas! That was a silly thing to do! xD Omg I can't believe he did that. I loved the comic though. The rhyming was great. And the groudon plushie is so adorable. <3 There were a few errors though, which I can help with. x)

First panel: I think it should say "When I arose to such a clutter!"

Second panel: I reckon "sprang" would work better than "spring" since it's all in past tense.

Fourth panel: Maybe Gible's speech should end with a question mark.

I don't think "appear" and "hair" rhyme, but maybe they do with different accents. xD

The panel where Delibird is stealing everything: Should be "It was as they warned us"

The panel with Delibird walking away with the presents in his sack: There shouldn't be a period on the end of "After all was said and done" because the sentence continues. x)

And that's all! xD But really, I loved this edition. It was very funny and well drawn. I especially like Gible's frightened face near the end. XD

Isnt Rufflet adorable! Thanks for the comments as always im glad you liked It. My students have been a big help with some of the little touches that are adsing more emotion to each eexpression. This one took me awhile so i hope you all enjoy!

Aww what an awesome new issue! I noticed a few errors, to get them out the way first...

1. The move is 'withdraw,' not 'withdrawal.'
2. You wrote "are" instead of "our" in a few places. "They are our leaves." Not "They are are leaves." Two different words.
3. "There unfortunately demise" should be "their."

I loved this comic page. XD Your art style is always really cool! I love that you chose magnemite to represent this story! It worked really well. I sort of took it seriously though because it's such a serious issue, but it was still funny that he interpreted the advice wrong! I wonder what the evil scheme is about! Haha. Really nicely done, as always!

The best part is seeing how drastically your artwork improves over the course of the comic. I also noticed you start drawing all of your own backgrounds instead of using photos and I applaud that. I take note of these kinds of things!

The artwork in the Metal Gear Snivy comic is absolutely amazing and I think that's my favorite out of the bunch. As a gamer who played a few Metal Gear Solid games (and was relatively bad at them XD), this was a great comic to relate to. And it's funny at that!

A very wise man once told me it takes 10,000 hours to master a hobby. My comic and my drawings on paint had to get better with time. I learned a lot as I did more of these and it shows. Really confidence in part thanks to Suicune's Fire Pokemon Trainer Sarah Elbub Dragon Master Mike who all were really supportive of this comic in the early phases helped me keep trying harder.

I would say Xanthe more so than the others was there to help out with grammar and I could thank her enough for that.

I gotta say, it's very true what everyone has said like (I think it was Neo that told me before). To look back on how something started and now look to how it turned out later on. Honestly, this was my first time revisiting this thread since around the time I joined this site and was just browsing mostly. Now that I've had a chance to read it, it's been really interesting! I've loved it so far. Some funny, some more serious than others while at the same time sticking to a sense of humor.

This is one of those I'm gonna have to keep track of more now for sure!

I can't decide which I like more, Xanthe being a grammar nazi with the Peanut's "wawawa" or the yveltal bed sheets. Can I say both? I wanna say both. After having caught up with this, I can firmly say that your style has improved and that these comics did well in expanding their coverage of topics while also making sure they were still funny for some of the more serious ones. Well done, Max, well done.

I'm not totally sure what to think of this. I do like the nod towards other comics, and the "are you stupid" thinking of Gible. which is funny because Gible is the stupid one.

Wow, and I mean wow, I’m not even sure what to say other then I have no words for Gible here, haha. I enjoy a lot of the humor and meshes you do using real life images with your art over the top of it. Especially the one trying to explain Jurassic Park 3, how fossils came about etc. The thing that makes me smile the most though is being the improvement throughout the comics. Comparing your very first to your newest ones, you can see that you’re playing with shadows a lot more, posing and even your lineart has gotten a a lot cleaner then you first started. Really shows that practice makes perfect and I’m sure if you keep at it, you’ll get even better! :>

Yup its all done on paint! The stones turned good because I use the sprites to draw them and they look great at this size.

Gible Bites #26 Friendship For Sale

This issue is unlike the others...this is technically a remake but in a funny way. Over a year ago I answered a response for Suicune's Fire. This issue 21 turned out to be pretty unique and I really like it. So lets skip to now..turns out that because my actual story was so far off the question that when I was looking through letters submitted I didnt even realize that I had done this and somehow my crazy mind came up with a completely new response. At first I was embarrassed that I had completely forgotten. Though i think this remake stands well on its own and I made some small adjustments to make 26 a squeal to 21...lol. This come is also a lead into the second Suicune's Grace thats why there is a cameo!


I dont have a big fan base so Im tagging people I know might be interested in seeing this.

Im glad you all enjoyed it. Im not sure how I feel about the most memorable part being the punch line at the end. Maybe this story is a little more bleak than some of the others. Fate is an easy person to recreate since he has been so active. Others might not be as classic.

Im really glad you all enjoyed it! The original ending was going to he much sader. The story of the burnt tower has always been sad. So when working on the story I wanted it to be something painful. When working on a sequel I found that it was important to break from the format of the firsr comic. This gave me freedom to try and pull more out of the character. Which i hope i was able to do.

The issue was originally not suppose to be broken up into two. I know some of you enjoy seeing the sketches. Below im posting the storyboards used to frame this. The drawings arent great but the storyboards actually help keep the comic on track. It also should give you an idea of what i give myself to work with lol the drawings include spoilers so if you dont want any idea of whats next maybe dont look.

Oh Gible is your icon for any of these series. I'm sure you gotta get him in somehow. I haven't completely caught up as you can probably tell. I wonder if you're gonna make use of the word "bytes" one of these times though if you haven't already.

I've seen a few with him in it so far. Probably not all yet. It does seem like he's been getting annoyed even hearing about him now hahaha.

Sometimes when you really get into things it gets hard to stop. Thing is, to make it how you want it. Sometimes you gotta take it slow even if it means stretching into more parts than you plan it. It'll make it better and more to your vision. That is what will make t perfect in your eyes and a better experience for the viewers. :D

This actually took me longer than you would think. I had a basic idea but i kept having trouble locking down the ending. The pyroar family was made after the comic was complete to help to story flow.

I work in retail and they keep hiring teenagers. Teens are fine but they arent training them to do the job properly and they dont have any experince. For some reason I thought it would be funny if the pokemon world dealt with the same problems.

You are a great artist. You can have some of my randomness if you can share your talent :P

Haha a purist huh? Perosnally i see the later comics as personal growth. The more we learn the more tools we have for shaping our art. To me the updates are more of a way to show the progress made :) not so much to pull a starswars remake and have gedo shoot first.. lol

Hahaha Im happy that someone actually like the old ones. They are different from the newer ones. I was very much still learning the style. However the randoness is part of all of them :P How many did you end up reading?

I've read through them all and I'm going to complete reading the last few (5 more I think?) today.

I like them all except the ones with a darker/ sadder theme because I suffer from PTSD. So, sometimes, things can wreck me easily. So, I try my best to avoid most of those and be very careful when reading around them, etc... XD

I'm weird, sorry... But it's just, I'm wired a bit differently than the others and I hope you don't mind that... :)
