You. Yes you. I know why you’re here! You’re interested in helping out with WAR of course, I can see it in your eyes… coming here was a great choice my friend, for you could be one of the many/few people to be a wonderful WAR Judge! They help make the seasons of WAR cycle through the year, only WAR operates in weeks so it’s more like through the monthish time. Anyway, let me give you a quick and simple explanation of what WAR Judges do:


As a WAR Judge, you have an overseeing of weekly contests throughout WAR in a particular section. This includes what kind of contest each week people will be participating in in the particular section you’re heading.

You also award points for WAR at the end of each week to people you believe has won the competition for that week. Now all competitions run a bit differently, but those details will be explained further upon selecting our Judges. This means you’ve also gotta be pretty punctual with getting back to us WAR leaders about points and who gets them.

Another part of being a Judge is keeping things fair and fun, and mediating any small issues. However if things escalate, you can always call on one of the staff members for assistance. PXR rules still apply!
As WAR Judges you’ll be able to work with us WAR Leaders as one big collective group so we can make this the best reboot of WAR for PXR ever. Ever.

Section: Showdown
Tell us why!: I feel that because of me, Showdown initially became popular on PxR, then with the decision to merge with PokéStadium, it blew up, and became a very hot ticket for the forum and its members. However, I will always remember the days of The old Showdown Tournaments. Also I was totally meant to become a Mod for the Battle Stadium threads because of my involvement with Showdown and the like, but it didn't happen. D:

WAR Judge Application
Section: Sprite Art.
Why: I'm running up against Caleb for this position. I believe I have a (at least somewhat) trained eye in the area of pixel art, and it has always been one of my favourite sections of not only PXR, but also back on Pe2k. I primarily specialise in Pokémon sprites/pixel art, but I've ventured outside, if only a little, and can appreciate other styles of pixel art. I believe it's a refined art governed by reasonably specific borders and rules; its precision is one of the many things that draws me to it. You can refine and revise a sprite hundred times before you finally get a version of it you like--even if it conforms to a 100-pixel by 100-pixel limit. I strive to keep the spriting section of the forum active and make sure I'm always commenting and critiquing other people's works so that they may improve and emerge a better artist--not just in pixels, either!

I believe I'll be a fair and friendly judge, and I'm sure I can come up with plenty of creative themes. :]

I've spoken to Sabi already, and I've already been confirmed as, hence why ASB doesn't appear as a section that needs a judge. Thanks though :P

Section: Debate
Tell us why!: I've been debate judge twice before and rather enjoy the discussion of big ideas and controversial topics. Given my past experience as debate judge, I know that arguments don't always fall into a Pro/Contra debate, and that there can in fact be a spectrum of viewpoints across all subjects. My judging will, of course, reflect this view.

The WAR Leaders will review both applicants and make a decision. The arguing is over any further response on either part will be deleted. This is the only warning of such that will be given. We have a couple openings to still fill.

If someone has already applied that does not mean they got it. Please feel free to apply to whatever you want. Dont think of it as stepping on anyones toes. This is a friendly tournament and we want everyone to get involved!

Tell us why!: ​Besides just writing stories, I've always been a person for reading stories. For some of my experience, I've been a creative writer for the last 6 years, and if it matters at all I take many different summer activities for writing, and I've generally been well off. I also do a lot of roleplaying around many parts of the site and on other sites. Besides all of that, I love reading and rating stories, and I would like to be a judge for Creative Writing.
