Welcome to official WAR Season 1 Information Thread. This thread was created specifically to house all the information regarding dates, times, and contest threads. The information below will be updated as we get it. Once the contest threads start to get created you will be able to simply click on the title of the contest and go directly to the thread.
WAR Season 1 Dates
WAR RP Sign-Up: Monday, June 23rd, 12:00:00 AM Central Standard Time – Saturday, June 28th 11:59:99 PM CST.
WAR RP Starts: Sunday, June 29th, 12:00:00 AM.
The rest of the WAR contest starts on Monday, July 7th 12:00:00 AM CST - Sunday, August 10th 11:59:99 PM CST.

The War Sections
Below you will find a list of all ten sections that will be ongoing throughout all five weeks of the WAR. As the contests threads are created links to this thread will be added. The points listed are subject to change.

As the highlight section of the WAR, team members immerse themselves into the epic and climatic story line of the WAR Role Play, where the teams become alive and their themes, their ideals, and their goals take on a life of their own within the role play’s setting and story line.
Judging Basis: 6 points awarded each week; 3 points for top performer, 2 points for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd place. 30 points in total.
2) WAR 1 Drawn Art (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?3935-WAR-%E2%97%8FDrawn-Art%E2%97%8F) – Corrupt_Voidlich (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/member.php?735-Corrupt_Voidlich)
WAR Drawn Art is the art arena for those skilled with creating freehand drawings and character-created images where special program-created rendering, filters, or other special effects are excluded. Images may be drawn on paper and then scanned, or drawn using a computer program, as long as it is clear no special effects were used in the creation of the final art.
Judging Basis: 6 points awarded each week; 3 for 1st place, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 1st place. 30 points in total.

For those with strong creative writing skills, follow the weekly theme and format provided by the Judge and write your literary masterpiece as an essay, short story, poem, or other form of literature. Typically not Pokémon related, although it can be.
Judging Basis: 5 points awarded each week; 3 for 1st place and 2 for 2nd. 25 points in total.
4) WAR 1 Sprite Art (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?3928-WAR-1-Pixel-Art&p=96730#post96730) – Suicune's Fire (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/member.php?44-Suicune-s-Fire)
WAR Sprite Art involves the creation of pixel-based art like the character sprites used in Pokémon and other various video games. Like the other art sections, WAR Sprite Art will be based on a theme provided by the Judge.
Judging Basis: 5 points awarded each week; 3 for 1st place and 2 for 2nd. 25 points in total.
5) URPG (Ultra Role-Playing Game) (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?3915-WAR-I-Week-One&p=96583#post96583) – We Taste Pies (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/member.php?1726-We-Taste-Pies)
Step into the arena of PXR's URPG by raising Pokémon, preparing them for battle, and claiming victory. The team that has the best collective performance for the judging period will be given points.
Judging Basis: 5 points awarded each week.

A fan of ASB's battling style? Who isn't? Test your battling skills in this once a year tournament! The points and glory will go the battler who stays focused and puts up the best fight.

The newest edition to WAR is also one of the most unique. GCEA's War Contest will be based around the creation and story of your original character! It will involve everything from drawing, to a short story, to a GCEA Battle at the end! Come join in this story game's unique contest.
Judging Basis: 5 points awarded each week; 3 for 1st place and 2 for 2nd. 25 points in total.

Engage in serious debate topics such as abortion, capital punishment, war, politics, and many other possible topics for discussion as teams compete to defend standpoints, prove their ground, and provide supporting evidence to strengthen arguments. In this section, both individual member performance and teamwork performance is rewarded.
Judging Basis: 4 points awarded each week; 1 point for best individual "pro" side, 1 point for best individual "con" side, and 2 for best overall team performance. 20 points in total.

Enjoy making people laugh? Think you got jokes? Come join in WAR's funniest competition. The humor section is exactly what it sounds like, so take some time looking into the weekly theme and do your best to get a chuckle out of the judge and your competitors!
Judging Basis: 3 points awarded each week; 2 points for the winner and 1 point to the runner up. 15 points total.

Using Pokemon Showdown, a battle simulator, build your team and compete with rival team members to rise to top of the competitive online battling arena. (Showdown will be a on week to week basis so if the activity remains good there will be a new themed tournament each week!)
Judging Basis: 5 points awarded each week; 3 for 1st place (most personal wins) and 2 for 2nd (most personal wins). 25 points in total.
