Haha, I love puns. :p

So many of you might know about this new RPG named Destiny (watch the trailer (http://www.destinythegame.com/au/en/media/official-destiny-gameplay-experience-trailer) nao! O:< ), developed by Bungie and Activision, that hits stores (tomorrow, yay!) on September 9th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

The game itself appears to be a first person shooter that incorporates MMO elements (similar to Mass Effect!). So I want to know what everybody thinks! Will the game live up to all the hype it's receiving? What race/class will you be? Are/have you pre-ordered the game? Were you lucky enough to test the Beta version(s)? IS THIS THE BEST GAME EVER INVENTED?! Okay, maybe not so much the last one. :p But I want to know all your queries and opinions.

For more info on the game, see Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destiny_%28video_game%29) and the official Destiny website (http://www.destinythegame.com/au/en).

As for myself, I've preordered the white PS4 Destiny bundle at JB-Hifi (it also comes with AC Black Flag!). I can't wait to snatch it up tomorrow. Then I'm off the radar for at least a week, haha! I'll have to post here again once I've played the game, but so far all the trailers have impressed me!

I've seen the posters everywhere but I still have no idea what it actually is. Is it something like Skyrim? xD I shall read up on it. I don't own any of the consoles it comes out on though, so I probably won't be playing it. xD Hope you have fun Gem! :D

I'm kind of in Sarah's boat, where I don't have any of the newer gen consoles and I've been mainly focused on PC gaming. Also, hate to say it, but I just don't play first person shooter games on anything except PC mainly because of the precision aiming element only a mouse can give over joysticks.

I saw the trailer and I can see where people would be really interested in it, but it does remind me a LOT of Titanfall in terms of style, look, and hype, and while that game was good for a few months, it did wear thin after a while. So... sorry to say, but I think I'll be passing on this one.

The way I described it after playing the Beta was a cross between Halo (Bungie's original Game Series, now ran by 343 Industries with Microsoft's backing), Mass Effect and Titanfall, with added awesome.

It will never be as good as Halo in my eyes, but it IS a different game in many ways, so it'll likely claim it's own place in my heart when I finally decide to get a copy of it.

See, I never actually had the Halo games - but my brother did. What I played of Halo I liked, so I'm sure Destiny will be okay, too. Pretty much, from what I've seen, Destiny is an open-world MMO, so the majority of the game (to get the full experience) you play online with others. So it's kinda like Skyrim cross with Mass Effect/Halo...I haven't played Titanfall so I can't say anything about that. xD

Plus I don't think it should be compared with Halo, I mean they're totally different games. Yes, they're made by the same person, but it's still a different series. I'm sure everyone has their favourites, and if Halo's better for you, then that's fine. :3

I could also never get into PC gaming. For one thing, I'm a designer so I gravitate towards Apple macs. xD YES, HATE ME. That's not to say I hate Windows; I'm perfectly fine with it. I just hate the fact I have to use a keyboard for gaming. I mean, I know I can buy extensions for the controllers and stuff, but still... I don't know. There's something about consoles that makes me like them better than PC gaming.

Anyway, even if Destiny doesn't live up to all the hype (though I hope it does), I got my PS4 which is what I wanted in the first place. Cx

How's the game Gem? :) It sounds pretty interesting from what I've read/heard so far. If they release it on PC one day (or my brother decides he wants to buy it for his PS4 haha), I might get a chance to play it. xD

Yeeeeeeeaaah. So I actually haven't played it yet. xD I got addicted to Black Flag, haha. But I've heard it's pretty good! Also that if you want to do competitive multi-player, you better be really competitive. Or die. Literally.

DON'T KILL ME FOR THE DOUBLE POST JUST NEEDED TO UPDATE

Just letting everyone officially know that this game is epic and I love it. I'm not a huge fan of first-person shooters, but this one takes the cake. Being an online game, Destiny is optimised to be played with friends. You don't have to, however. I tend to complete the storyline by myself, and save patrolling, bounties and strike missions for playing with others. I tested the competitive multiplayer, but I suck at it so bad I didn't even get a single kill. xD I think I'll need to level up a bit more before I try that again.

My first character was an awoken (uh, alien-human type race) Warlock, but I quickly traded that in for an exo (robot) Hunter since I noticed literally EVERYONE had chosen to be a Warlock. To this day I'm still super sick of seeing Warlocks running all over the place. xD

While your armour isn't totally customisable, you can nab armour shaders to change the colour and style of your set. Which I currently love. I have an awesome purple cloak on my Hunter that just looks soooo cool. Right now I'm grinding bounties and such to reach level 30 - which you can only reach when equipping legendary armour and weapons with an essence called 'Light'. Unfortunately, all the legendary armour and such is rather hard to attain, and you have to work hard for days, even weeks, to get it. I'm working on getting a full set now.

I love the abilities too, which differ between the three classes of Titan, Hunter and Warlock. As far as I can tell, Titans are your soldier types, with earth smashing blows and defensive capabilities. Hunters (which are totally awesome) work most effectively around stealth and mid to close range combat. I like to sneak up on my enemies and give 'em a nice blade to the throat. Warlocks work with magic, and tend to manipulate time and space to kill others. They also have an awesome glide ability. Each class has two subclasses - one of which can't be unlocked until you reach level 15. Titans have Striker and Defender. Hunters have Gunslinger and Bladedancer (I'm currently a Bladedancer and loving it!). And Warlocks have Voidwalker and Sunsinger. The abilities differ between the classes, but each has a specific grenade, jump, super and melee ability coupled with attribute bonuses and such.

I could go on but I better leave it at that or I'll be typing all day. Cx Oh, and Destiny has been the reason I haven't been on PxR much lately. xD GO PLAY IT.
