No more Legendaries!
You read that correctly! Soon VGC, the official format for competitive battling, will have no Legendary Pokemon!
Regulation H. The new regulation for VGC that will take place starting in September. This regulation will run from September 1st, 2024 to January 5th, 2025.
Regulation H will have the following rules.
No Legendary Pokemon
No Paradox Pokemon
This means that Paradox Pokemon and the Treasures of Ruin will not be eligible to be used in battles where Regulation H will be in place. Other popular Pokemon that will not be usable include the Legendary Birds and both Urshifu.
That means you will only able to use normal Pokemon that can be found in Paldea, Kitakami and Blueberry Academy.
Regulation H will be used in all Play! Pokemon Events. That includes VG League Challenges, Regionals and the Latin American International Championships.
In Other NewsIt was also announced that Regulation G will return starting in January 2025. This ruleset will be in effect until April 2025. Regulation G was known as the Single Restricted format where players could use one “Cover Legendary” Pokemon.
