Welcome to the PXR Nuzlocke Association, where those of us crazy enough to undertake the Nuzlocke challenge can come together and try to regain our sanity! Share your experiences, console others for their losses, update us on your adventure! If you have a comic, storylocke, tumblr, or blog somewhere in the grand expanses of the interwebz, feel free to share it (I'll be happy to feature it)!


Never tried the Nuzlocke Challenge before? Step this way, ladies and gentlemen! The Nuzlocke Challenge is a brilliant way to add some spice to your Pokemon gaming experience! At its most basic, you only need to follow two rules:


1.) Catch only the first Pokemon you encounter in a new area
2.) Fainted Pokemon must be released/boxed and are considered dead.


Other rules may be added to make your challenge more interesting, such as using basic Poke Balls only, female Pokemon only, ect.

I've had to find a final member of mt team because there was a double crit hax on Rock Blast against my level 50 Fearow when I decided to go grinding for the E4 on my Fire Red run. Then my back up Kadabra died. -_-
So right now I'm trying to train an Aerodactyl back up to level 50 [currently 31 right now] and get everyone to 55 before taking on the E4.

I just beat my Black 2 Eeveelocke yesterday, so now I'm going to just have one nuzlocke going on, which is Pearl. :D

My Eeveelutions were all level 60. I beat Iris with JUST Umbreon left. It was really close, I about had to restart the nuzlocke. xD

I hate Cheren because if you don't get the right pokemon, he kills so many teams. ;.; It's almost impossible to grind at that point in the game, and if you have bad luck, he's a murderous ball of destruction. I've had to restart that Nuzlocke so many times because of him. xD

My Black2 Nuzlocke is going horribly at the moment. Everyone's dead but my Eevee, Scraggy, Darumaka, and Sunkern. And I'm underleveled, and Sunkern is useless. I'm expecting to have to restart it again, to be honest. Cheren, here I come! D: Oh dear... ;.;

I would say either Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon or Glaceon. You already have a Water-type, which cancels out Vaporeon. If you were going to have your Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite know an Electric-type/Fire-type attack, that cancels out Jolteon/Flareon. If you have Diamond/Pearl/Platinum you could trade it over and evolve it into Leafeon or Glaceon.

Started the game, collected Tepig as my starter and called it Digi

Entered Route 19 and caught a Purrlion at level 4 and called it Char.

In an effort to avoid Pokemon X/Y news and to keep me involved in the community, I'm going to host a Nuzlocke in each generation (FR/LG | HG/SS | R/S/E | D/P/Pt | B/W) until X/Y is released, and upon its release I'll be blind Nuzlocking that, too. :p

So, first up is Emerald! I've beaten May with my Treecko, and I'm about to set off into the wide world of Hoenn! I've made it a rule that in each Nuzlocke I do, I can only capture Pokemon introduced in that generation (e.g Pidgey in Kanto, Hoothoot in Johto / No Oddish in Hoenn, etc.). I'll update my progress upon each gym leader. Hopefully not too many Pokemon will die this time around - I have a strategy!

I would say 6-7, because that's around the level Pidgey learns Gust, so you can train the others on Route 3. Otherwise, 8 is high enough, they aren't that high leveled.

The Trainers range from lv6 to lv9 so somewhere in between there.

I'd get them to level 10. In B2, my Pokemon are almost at level 30 before Burgh because I've been training on Audino in the Square of Agony looking for female Eevee. About 4 combine hours of searching so far. ;|

Tenacity's Emerald Nuzlocke Update: Dewford Gym

I haven't captured any new Pokemon since my last update, and due to this I figured there was no way I'd beat Brawley unless I did some major grinding. So I went all the way to Slateport to fight the trainer's there, using the Exp. Share to bring Nincada up to speed. Eventually, Lightyear evolved. I went to go fight Brawley, and we easily won with Lightyear spamming Double Team and Fury Cutter.

I'm hoping to catch something decent on the next few routes, but I refuse to catch anything that I'm not 100% happy about. All I'm finding is Poochyena at the moment. *Sigh*

Onto Mauville!

EDIT: Tenacity's Emerald Nuzlocke Update: Mauville + Lavaridge Gym

Mauville: was pretty tough. I used SHEDINJA in this fight, but only because I knew that Lightyear nor Forrest could take Wattson on by themselves. Forrest pulverised Wattson's Voltorb and Electrike, SHEDINJA took out Manectric but fell to Magneton's Supersonic. Forrest then did the rest of the dirty work and won us the battle.

Lavaridge: A lot happened in between Mauville and Lavaridge - I caught a Numel (named Camilla), a Spinda (named Rascal) and a Swablu (named Belle). Anyway, Camilla completely swept Flannery's Numel and Slugma without difficulty. Rascal was sent in against Camerupt, and was one Strength away from defeating it when it became infatuated and could not move, leading to death by Overheat. Forrest came in to avenge him with a Leaf Blade. Finally, Camilla took down Flannery's Torkoal with a Magnitude.

I guess you could say.

Yeah. D: It's a shame because he would have been great against Norman, but I didn't plan to use him much on my main team anyway.

Now that Rascal is gone, I'm kind of concerned about what to use on my team next. I don't really want to use multiple types too much, so that rules out everything in the Desert because I already have a Ground type in Numel, a Grass type in Grovyle and a Bug type in Ninjask. I'm going to fish up a Carvahna after Norman and use it as my Surfer, but past that I don't know what I'm going to use. Perhaps the Castform or Kecleon you get before Winona. Hmm.

I would say Kecleon because of Color Change and the fact that it can learn Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, AND Brick Break via TM if you manage to get a hold on those.

Well, everyone is dead. :( The gym trainer in Norman's gym with a Zangoose used Swords Dance and then Slashed his way through my team. We didn't even stand a chance. :'(

I think I'm going to start my Nuzlocke again, and maybe try doing several Nuzlockes at once so I don't get bored. We'll see.

Norman made me stop playing for a month on Sapphire, LOL. I could get through Slaking because I had Sableye and I'd switch every time they got to move. Slowly diminished his defense stats until BAM. Vigoroth always mauled me. :(

I add more rules if I want a bit of difficulty or excitement - I'm planning to Nuzlocke Emerald, Pearl, Platinum, Black and White 2 - perhaps I'll add crazier rules in Pearl and White 2. TODAY IS NOT A GOOD DAY.

You guys know how it often works with a Nuzlocke. You've got a team of six. Everyone's caught up to the level they need to be. You're feeling perfectly happy with your team and can see yourself with every member at the end of the Elite Four.

Unfortunately, you know that Nuzlocke isn't like that. But you ignore this anyway.

The most tragic deaths are often the ones that take you by surprise. In this case, it was in Mossdeep Gym. A double battle, with a Kadabra and... a Wobbufett.

I was busy training my newly obtained Snorunt, Fedora, who was now level 38. Axol, my Swampert, was helping out. I think you can see where this is headed.

We managed to take out the Kadabra with a mixture of Crunch and Mud Shot, but the Wobbufett was worrying us. Reluctant to use Fedora to take out the Wobbufett, Axol tried to lower its HP and defense with Rock Smash. It used Counter to hit back, and so we thought that it wouldn't use Mirror Coat if we tried a Surf. How wrong we were.

We watched as Axol's life was sucked away, down into the abyss, back to the earth from which all living beings once formed.

It's always the most difficult having to bury your starter. But it happened in the worst of ways. A completely avoidable death. Whoever follows Axol has big shoes to fill - it'll take a while for the team to recover from this loss.

I tried to combine the best of both suggestions though - I went to catch a Corphish in Petalburg City, so when it evolves I'll still have a Dark type, but a Surfer as well. I've never used a Crawdaunt before, so I'm interested in how it will serve me.

I'm going to be writing a Pokemon Black Version Storylocke. I've gotten the first teeny weeny little part of the first chapter done already, but not the prologue. I thought I'd give you guys an excerpt so you can give me your opinion of it. :)

Midnight was just about to taint our tiny town of Nuvema when the alarms sounded. The sirens, a dull clanging sound with pauses after every beat, resonated throughout our home with no signs of stopping. When the first few people began to emerge from their camps, I knew they would be at my door faster than you could say ‘Plasmodium’. The only questions were: which one would be banging on the door, and which one would be yelling for me to get out of my beloved home?

I think I already knew the answer.

‘We have to leave, NOW!’ Cheren’s fists against my door could not be compared to the siren – they were more consistent, less peaceful. However, like the sirens, they appeared to be never-ending. I could only imagine his pale bespectacled face, sweating in the moonlight.

‘I’ll be out in a second!’ How on earth did he expect me to gather all of my things so quickly? He knew as well as I did that our rooms were tiny and often cluttered, dependent on the amount of possessions you had. Fortunately, these days we could only afford to own very little. It had to be that way. We’d be too caught up in the value of things to survive, otherwise. This way, I knew exactly what to grab if ever this situation happened – backpack, clothing, food, survival gear. That’s all that was necessary.

Cheren was exactly how I imagined him. His usually pristine black hair was greasy and ruffled, and his breath drew thick vaporous clouds out in front of him.

‘What the hell took you so long?’ His voice was as cold as the wintery Nuvema air. ‘You knew you had to be prepared for the siren!’

‘Let’s just go!’ I snapped back at him, roughly brushing past his shoulders as I trudged forward. Cheren took this as the perfect opportunity to angrily shove me as I did so. I doubled back on him by thrusting him down into the mud. He made a satisfying SPLAT as he fell, dirtying the blue jacket he always bragged about so much. It made me smirk. Adjusting his glasses, he picked himself up off the floor. He looked like he wanted to slug me.

‘Will you boys just stop it?!’ the blonde haired girl shrieked, her hands clasped to her chest in an innocent plea. It was unbelievable to think that, through all of the madness, I seemed to have completely forgotten Bianca was stood there. Considering the ludicrously large green beret that lay atop her curls, this was somewhat of a surprise. ‘We’ve got more important matters to attend to!’ she added.

Cheren dusted himself off and strode to Bianca’s side. ‘That’s right. Juniper told us to meet her by her research camp. So that’s where we’ll be going.’

‘Whatever,’ I grunted, following the pair along the dusty path. Fortunately for us, Nuvema Town was tiny in comparison to the rest of the region – the town was located slap bang in the middle of a forest, with trees being cleared in a decent-sized rectangular shape when the town was initially constructed. This little rectangle was my home, where I had grown up for the past fifteen years. I didn’t want to admit it to myself back then, but I knew I’d be leaving it for the first time, forever, once midnight dawned. As we walked to Juniper’s camp, northwest to my own camp, several creatures fluttered their small black wings in the winds overhead. I was always amused by the sight of them, for they looked like the powdered balls my mother had always used to apply her makeup. The shaggy blue bats continued innocently on their journey – Woobat were always active during this time of night, and they were seemingly oblivious to the disorder occurring down below. Despite the relatively small population, families familiar to me were scampering around town, gathering their things before departure. It was sad, really. Everything we’d ever known was about to fall prey to the Plasmodium.

Really, boy, read more of the post. For X, I'm gonna do what I usually do with my games; play it one or two times normally then Nuzlocke it. But if I manage to get Y before I beat X, then I'm just gonna Nuzlocke Y then X.

I kind of want to get Y (better Legendary imo) but I don't have a 3DS so I'm likely not going to be in that crowd, especially if they pull that Fairy-typing crap.

My usual pattern is beat, then Nuzlocke, but with White 2 I broke it - and I'm really glad, because in that Nuzlocke I got my first shiny. He's an Electabuzz now, named Golden Boy, and he's my pride and joy because he just wiped Skyla's team off the face of the earth with OHKOs. :>

Tenacity's Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke V2: The Final Update

I'm standing afoot of the Pokemon League's entrance. During this journey I've had many amazing things happen - we defeated all eight gym leaders, we took down two villainous teams, quelled a legendary calamity and had to bury an amazing starter Pokemon. Throughout our endeavours we have experienced many losses, many new additions and many evolutions. Finally, it's our time to prove whether or not the effort was enough to overcome the Nuzlocke challenge.

I'll post my full team in-depth after I've gone through the Elite 4.

Vs. Sidney:
Tombstone vs Mightyena: I was actually expecting him to send out Sharpedo first. It used Sand Attack, but we smashed it with a critical hit Giga Drain. He is about to send out Shiftry, so we switch to Chiroptera.
Chiroptera vs Shiftry: Sludge Bomb OHKOs. He is about to switch into Absol, so I send in Capitoline.
Capitoline vs Absol: Due to being 8 levels higher, Thunderbolt OHKOs. I'm starting to get the feeling this league will be easier than expected. He sends in Crawdaunt, so I decide to send in Tombstone again. I want to use Capitoline as least as I can due to it being so over-levelled.
Tombstone vs Crawdaunt: Crawdaunt uses Surf, but that barely scratches Tomb Stone, who recovers off the damage and OHKOs with Giga Drain. Turns out Sidney doesn't have a Sharpedo at all as he is about to send in Cacturne. It was a toss up between sending out Chiroptera again or using Fedora, but I actually let Strait take the honour for this one.
Strait vs Cacturne: We open with Return, which gets the Cacturne down to about 1/3rd of its health. It uses Cotton Spore and lowers our speed. It outspeeds us next turn and uses Needle Arm, which only does a little damage but causes us to flinch as well. This repeats on the next turn. He scores a crit on the next turn, taking Strait to a heart-stopping 24HP! However, we finish the Cacturne off with a Return and win the battle. I heal up Strait with a Hyper Potion and move onto Phoebe.

Vs. Phoebe:
Chiroptera vs Dusclops: I have a feeling Capitoline will be taking most of the hits in this battle due to its wonderful typing, but I let Chiroptera open the battle with a Bite. Unfortunately, Phoebe's Dusclops used Protect to shield itself from my move. And repeats this on the next turn. When Bite finally does connect, it knocks the Dusclops down to about half health. It uses Confuse Ray, but we get through and manage to get it to perhaps a single hit point. Of course, Phoebe heals it with a Full Restore. With a little effort, we finally fell the Dusclops. She sends in Banette next, so I retaliate with Capitoline.
Capitoline vs Banette: Thunderbolt OHKOs. Her second Dusclops in next, which I keep Capitoline in for.
Capitoline vs Dusclops: We open with Thunderbolt, which knocks it down to slightly more than half health, but it uses Earthquake! As I watch Capitoline's health sneak away, I am stunned as it is able to survive with 40HP! We end our assault with another Thunderbolt. Phew. Banette's in next, which I keep Capitoline in for.
Capitoline vs Banette: I patch up Capitoline's health with an Energy Root, allowing us to be hit by the Banette's Will-o-Wisp. On the next turn, Thunderbolt knocks its health down to the red. Phoebe patches Banette up with a Full Restore, and we hit it with another two Thunderbolts to KO it. Her last Pokemon, Sableye, is up next. I let Big Blue have some fun with this one.
Big Blue vs Sableye: We attack with Water Spout, which knocks it down into the red whilst it uses Double Team. We KO it with Surf on the next turn. Two down, three to go!

Vs. Glacia:
Strait vs Sealeo: I attempt something ridiculous this battle. Utterly ridiculous. Strait used Belly Drum! Sealeo used Hail! Return OHKOs!
Strait vs Glalie: Return OHKOs!
Strait vs Sealeo: Return OHKOs!
Strait vs Glalie: Return OHKOs! Strait grew to LV.53!
Strait vs Walrein: Return OHKOs!

AWWWWWWW YEEEEAH! Never underestimate the power of friendship.

Vs. Drake:
Fedora vs Shelgon: I'm really cautious in using Fedora because of how low his stats are. However, I was confident that Fedora could take Drake's Shelgon. We used Blizzard, but it missed! Fortunately, Shelgon's Rock Tomb missed, too. Sensing our attack, it uses Protect, blocking our next Blizzard. Our next Blizzard connects and OHKOs the Shelgon. Next in was Drake's Flygon. I was confident that Big Blue could take it.
Big Blue vs Flygon: It used Earthquake to begin with, which scared me as it brought our HP from 248 to 106. Fortunately, Ice Beam OHKO'd. Well, of course it did. Altaria was up next, which I promptly sent in Fedora for.
Fedora vs Altaria: It opened with Double Edge, which brought Fedora to little more than 50% HP. Blizzard promptly OHKO'd it. Next in was Salamence, and I was slightly scared seeing as my two Ice type attack users were weakened. Considering this, I sent in Tombstone.
Tombstone vs Salamence: It uses Dragon Claw, slicing off about 60 HP. We retaliate with Confuse Ray. The next turn, it hits itself in confusion. Our AncientPower barely scratches the Salamence, likely due to Intimidate. It manages to break through the confusion and hit us again with Dragon Claw - I Toxic it in the process. I patch up Tombstone with a Max Potion whilst it uses another Dragon Claw, again bypassing the confusion. Eventually, after two Full Restores from Drake and a lot of stalling, the Salamence falls to a mixture of status effects. Euck. His last Pokemon is Kingdra, which I send Capitoline in for.
Capitoline vs Kingdra: Capitoline uses Thunderbolt, it uses Dragon Dance. We still outspeed and KO it with Thunderbolt. Good game, Drake. You are by far my most difficult challenge thus far.

CHAMPION BATTLE - Vs. Wallace:
Tombstone vs Wailord: I'd like for all of my Pokemon to fight at least one Pokemon in this battle. We'll see. Also, wut, he sends out his highest level Pokemon first? It sets up Rain Dance, which frightens me a litte. Giga Drain smakcs it down to about 50% health, which was less than I expected. It uses Blizzard, which brings us from 184 HP to 64 HP. Giga Drain brings us back to 129 HP and KOs the Wailord. Tombstone grew to LV.54! Next in is Milotic, which I send Capitoline in for.
Capitoline vs Milotic: I wish I had Thunder on Capitoline now. Anyway, Thunderbolt scores a critical hit and OHKOs! Yrah! Next in is Gyarados. I decide to keep Capitoline in for this, despite my prior wish.
Capitoline vs Gyarados: Freaking. No. Earthquake OHKOs poor Capitoline. ;_; I start to panic here. I send out Chiroptera in the hopes that it can dent the beast.
Chiroptera vs Gyarados: Sludge Bomb barely dents the critter as it begins to set up a Dragon Dance. It uses Surf, which knocks off a 1/3rd of our HP, whilst I use Confuse Ray. It hurts itself in confusion as we use a Sludge Bomb, which brings it to Full Restore zone and poisons it! Knocking it out. Take that. Tentacruel in next. I'm kicking myself for Capitoline's avoidable death. Capitoline would have been so useful. I send in Strait to see what he can do.
Strait vs Tentacruel: We open with Belly Drum, which I'm aware is a risky move. Fortunately, it uses Toxic, giving me time to patch up Strait with a Full Restore the following turn. It uses Hydro Pump, knocking us down to 99 HP from 179 HP. Return OHKOs. Ludicolo next.
Strait vs Ludicolo: Return OHKOs. Everything's beginning to look possible now. Final Pokemon, Whiscash. I know exactly who to pick for this one.
Tombstone vs Whiscash: It uses Surf, but Giga Drain restores most of our health and puts it in the red. Wallace uses the most pointless Full Restore in all of history, so I use Toxic...which misses. Oh well. Repeat the first two turns twice more, sprinkle in another Giga Drain and that's how you make a champion.

I carry Capitoline's crumbled body with me into the Hall of Fame. Placing their Poke Balls onto the machine, we register ourselves forever in Hoenn's history.

I'll be starting Pokemon Black very soon. :) Well, that's it for my first ever completed Nuzlocke. I've had my Illumise replace Capitoline, and alongside the rest of my team she'll eventually be migrating to the fifth generation to relax as Nuzlocke victors. :3 Before that though, I plan to catch all of the available legendaries and get as many ribbons on my team as possible.

It's an Emerald randomizer where I can only use poison type pokemon :D Poison was decided by one of the starters (my new Golbat...Bat) and then a coin flip. Hoo boy.

My Black2 'locke is off to a shaky start. Began with mah Oshawott, whom I promptly named Alara, second route I caught a Purrloin, big surprise. Named 'im Valerian. The next route over I knocked out a Sunkern before I could catch it, such a shame. xD At Flololololoccessy ranch I caught an Azurill, who promptly died to a critical hit. So now I'm grinding before facing up against Cheren. Really wish I had death fodder right about now, but we'll see how it goes.

Funny thing, when starting this nuzlocke, I decided to have a little bit of fun and kept on restarting. I ended up getting 5 female Oshawott in a row. The probability of that is .00003051757, if I did the math right.

Anyways, Black 2 update. I stormed Cheren's gym with my level 12 Valerian (Purrloin) and level 13 Alara (Oshawott). I went in with a plan. Valerians ability was unburnden, so I gave it an Oran berry so that he would eventually outspeed everything. Then, I used the convenient X-Attack and X-Defend the game has given to you by this point, and I would Fury-Swipe everything to death! Muhahaha. Too bad Fury Swipes hated me, and decided it's accuracy was 25% instead of 80%. Still, I burned through his Patrat, and Lilypup was all that was left. But of course, crits happened, and Valerian fell. A manly tear was shed before I sent in Alara. He used Workup and I got in a Watergun which looked to be a three hit KO. Next turn, he used Tackle and dropped me to 1/3 health before Alara's Oran Berry kicked in, and once again, Watergun for the win. At this point Alara could survive another Tackle, so decided to pray to the nuzlocke gods that there would be no critical hit, and hit the fateful button. Luckily for me, Alara won the speed tie, so he never got a chance to hit me. Onwards, to the next gym, to conquer Unova!

From what I understand, a communitylocke is an event where nuzlockers create runs (comics, stories, screenshot, video, ect) around a certain theme. We could do a vote or something to decide what that theme is xD

But we could always go by our own rules for a communitylocke. Maybe we each have to try a different set of in-game rules, or have a particular theme for naming Pokemon.


OR those of you with wifi, we could do an egglocke ;D

Basically, a communitylocke is where participants Nuzlocke a game from the same set of games (A FR/LG communitylocke, for example, or a D/P/Pt communitylocke) all following the same rules. The players are then awarded points based on events in game, such as positive points for catching Pokemon or beating important trainers or negative points for losing a Pokemon. This then adds a competitive aspect to it. There are checkpoints, in which every trainer has a couple of weeks or a week to get to the next checkpoint.

I'd love to propose a B/W communitylocke, if people are interested? I can set up the rules and such.

I think I saw a video of that with a Randomizer...It was a Randomizer that worked on all games R/B/Y to B2/W2 and would change almost everything. For one thing, all the completely CAPPED Pokemon names were now normal punctuation, the wild Pokemon were random, and even the battles were random. Including the names. Like, you could be fighting your rival and get "Butler Susan" in Leaf Green.

So Bat finally evolved into a Crobat. Took him long enough. I lost Bug to a rather quick Doduo but caught a Grimer (Sludge)! I think I'll be ready to face Wattson soon!

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaand I lost :( Ah well. I took out three of Wattson's pokemon with Bat alone, and then his Magneton decided it was going to Crit him. Sludge was too low of a level to combat him. I guess I should have trained all of them more. It feels bad to lose a Nuzlocke like that. Welp, Noxiouslocke is over! Now for another typelocke.

If anyone's curious how my Emerald Nuzlocke is going...

Everyone is now floating at around level 10, with the exception of Sylvia the Treecko and Leaf the Shroomish, who are each at level 14. Trick has evolved into a killer Dustox. I caught a Taillow named Windy and a Marill named Fizzy (both female); Windy is on my team, but Fizzy was killed while I was trying to train her up, before I even hit Roxanne. Now that Sylvia and Leaf have ripped her team into little pieces, I'm now about to move onto Brawly! Also, I've started sketching out some things for my comic, which means that it may actually get made with time!

You know your Nuzlocke isn't going to be great when your Level 6 Patrat gets killed by the same Pokemon two Levels lower by a critical hit. So let me explain...

A few months ago, I had lost my Black 2 game. (LE GASP!) So, today, I went to a store called Meijer (24 hours <3) to spend some of my birthday money. While looking, I went to the electronics section to check out the games, and what do you know? Still Black and White 2. They were each about $35 and I still have my White 2, so I bought another Black 2. After booting it, I was deciding whether or not I would make it a Nuzlocke like my old Black 2, soon decided after I chose my starter. As normal, I went through the naming process, choosing male, naming him "Ruby," and my rival "Sho." Afterwards, I chose Oshawott and named him Whirlrush, the most obvious combination of "whirlpool" and "rush."

After that, it started to go slightly downhill. When I got to Route 22, the first Pokemon I encountered was a female Patrat. She was Level 4, making her slightly easier to catch up to Whirlrush, and it's not like I wasn't gonna not catch her anyways. So, I proceeded with that and named her "Stagtooth." After the Alder event, I went to Route 23 or whatever the next Route was and caught a Sewaddle. Level 2, another female, female team, here I come! I caught her and named her "Leafsew," mainly because of Sewaddle's Pokedex talent. I healed (More than once, there was a short training session) and headed towards Floccesy Ranch. The first one I encountered was a Lilipup, but I must have knocked it out without noticing. :( I headed back to Route 22 to train Leafsew. I got her to Level 5 before I encountered it. It was a Level 4 Patrat, same stats, but it gave some good damage to Leafsew, so I switched to Stagtooth. I managed to get one Bite in with her before a critical hit killed her. I am now left with Whirlrush the Oshawott at Level 7 and Leafsew the Sewaddle at Level 5. This is starting to become like my old team! ...

I started with a Tepig, female, and went on as normal to catch a Patrat. I named her Scout. Blah blah blah, Dream Word, Pansage, Cress, yeah. I was desperately trying to get down Panpour's HP, but it kept using Work Up. When I finally got close, Potion. He had to have raised it max. So it pretty much KOed everything from there and I haven't attempted a nuzlocke since. :L

UPDATE!

After the Floccesy Ranch thing where I fought my rival (1 Bug Bite = InstaDeath) and found the Herdier, I went back to Alder like always. Both Whirlrush and Leafsew were about Level 10 when I got there and I beat both of the Trainers with ease. I then headed to Aspertia to fight Cheren and his cronies. His cronies were really easy and I don't really think that killing all of those angels they were cronies...Huh. I get up to Cheren with both of my Pokemon being Level 12 and I nervous as hell. However, Patrat was easy and Leafsew managed to survive Lilipup and defeat it with two Bug Bites. Like every other person, I got the TM for Work Up, but I was disappointed when I found out that Oshawott can't learn Work Up. What a bunch of BC. After that, TM Return, register, blah, teach Leafsew Return, blah, blah, Habitat List, Audino, so then I get to the next Route. Aaaaaaaaaand it's a Purrloin. Well, they're not too bad, in fact, I remember the good ol' days... the good ol' days... the good ol' days... No, I was not having a stroke. I catch the Purrloin in memory of Marik, my Liepard from my original Black 2 Nuzlocke. Of course, if it's going to be a total tribute, I have to name him the same, too. So, I now have another male. ...

I still need help. :(

It's going pretty well! I've gotten to Nacarene City with a team of Tepig, Patrat, Pansage, Blitzle and Woobat. Aside from Cilantro the Pansage, the whole team is female, so I'm guessing my little monkey's kind of a player. I only lost a Purloin on the way, and because it was a fellow, I'm kind of suspecting that Cilantro had a hand in his death.

No I did not get her first try. I did soft restarts to get a female starter, but I have my reasons (thinking of the fanfic since I want certain things to happen for the story). I'm going to try to catch some Pokemon and then start working on the fanfic if I'm happy.

I think I'm going to do that. Just take notes here on what happens and then probably start writing the fanfics. That why I can still play and not feel like I have to write the fic without continuing the game.

I'm going to start a Nuzlocke with X as soon as Jaye helps me out with some trading from it first. Did a playthrough to try to get a Houndour on my Y team, but since I gave my spare 3DS to a friend for his birthday I can't trade over myself. Plus I already have a Houndour thanks to Suicune's Fire that I can breed with my Electrike so that the baby Houndour can know Thunder Fang (hopefully). So yeah.

Here's my current team. I'd just like to note that I beat my rival with a Totodile that knew Rage (kinda noting that for myself later on). I'll post my Nuzlocke rules once I get them written out again.

Has anyone here been nuzlocking X or Y?

I actually completed my blind Nuzlocke of X last week-ish. I only ended up losing around 6 guys or so, none of them after going through Victory Road (DAMN YOU FOCUS BLAST), so that was nice. The game on the whole was rather easy tbh and my deaths only came via me personally derping, like trying to catch an Electrode that self-destructed (RIP Sheridan the Dugtrio :( ), a Throh that knew Rock Slide and I didn't have my Lucario on me at the time (RIP Alex the Greninja, Amelia the Vivillon, and Samantha the Drifblim :( ), a certain Pokemon with Superpower and Contrary (RIP Nia the Drapion), and the above Focus Blast death (RIP Zoe the Bisharp :( ).
