Time to say goodbye to Pokemon V! And Radiant Pokemon!
We now know the date for the 2025 Rotation for the Pokemon TCG. Along with all the cards that will be rotated out as part of the rotation.
What is Being Rotated? If you are playing the Pokemon TCG then you will want to know which cards will leave the Standard format. All cards with the F Regulation Mark will no longer be legal for the Standard format. That means cards from the following sets will no longer be legal for the Standard Format.
Brilliant Stars
Astral Radiance
Pokemon GO
Lost Origin
Silver Tempest
Crown Zenith
This rotation will see all the Pokemon V, Radiant Pokemon and the Sword & Shield series cards to be removed from the Pokemon TCG Standard format.
Cards that have been mainstays in decks such as Radiant Greninja and Collapsed Stadium will be gone from decks. Meanwhile, popular decks such as Lugia VSTAR and Regidrago VSTAR will no longer be able to be played. It is expected that the meta will see a drastic change once these powerful cards are removed from the Standard format.
Please note that cards like Rare Candy and Ultra Ball that got reprinted in later sets are still legal in Standard play. Even though they have the F Regulation mark, they can still be used once Rotation has gone into effect.
Rotation for the Pokemon TCG will happen in two waves. The first wave will go into effect on Pokemon TCG Live on March 27th, 2025. Rotation will then go into effect for in-person Play! Pokemon events on April 11th, 2025.
