Preface
So... it's been a while since I've posted any writing here, and I thought I'd make a comeback with a little something that I put together over the course of the year. Some of you may have recalled my first pokemon poetry anthology which was based off Unova. This time, you'll be reading poems that were inspired from the region of Sinnoh. Sinnoh's been one of my favourite regions, especially because of its rich lore and Creationist mythology. Why "Change"? I've no idea; it just felt right. Why don't you read it for yourself, and perhaps enlighten me with your interpretations? :)

Timeless Marsh
Our home - a sanctum
where mulch and moisture
mesh in webs of lignin.
A fossil washed behind,
imprisoned in mud and moss.

Our marsh -
Where the wild things are.
Venom lurks for a chance to strike,
in the undergrowth
where the Elusive resides.
An amalgamation of nature:
an intoxicating mixture or,
a savory cocktail.

Our haven, though a place
where we pray that
time may for once
sink and preserve us.

Red Chain
A falling star landed into my eye.
Its piercing soul flooded mine with acuity,
Washing away the time so that I could see,
every infinite wonder of the universe.

With knowledge came empathy,
And the cosmos reached out to me.
A glimmer of hope adorned on the candlelit sky
wherefrom poets play with literary semantics.

Once ideas were polished into multifaceted stones,
the foundry of a crystallized will fiercely bloomed.
The star's lifeblood infused fortitude with steel,
breaking out brittle shells, giving life and will.

Your poetry flows so nicely, I really like your newest piece! Sinnoh's mythology definitely is really well developed, although I've wondered where legends like Heatran, which have pretty much no info on them, fit in. It would be nice if other region's myths were explored more in depth too, it's all so interesting! Anyway, keep up the good work. :)

Thanks for your comments, Sarah. :) I agree, Sinnoh's lore is almost like a Pokemon Bible of sorts, so many stories to look at and delve deeper into! I'd hoped to be able to cover all the regions in due time. X3

Now, for another piece:

Soliloquy of a Renegade
One who stalls to preserve,
preferring the status quo,
One who rips and changes
with eternal caprice.
Adamant and lustrous,
two bodies clashed with a supernova,
spewing nebular dust and debris.

Two brothers like trees of heavy bearing,
surrounded by pools of stained glass
that reflect even my darkest shadow.
If I were not in this void,
this trap of "Justice",
I would love to leech off them
until I'm a full Munchlax and fall off,
returning to my rightful seat.

But they don't understand the fidelity of creation,
floating amidst their lofty ideals
which push life and civilization nearer
to the brink of the abyss.

Even the sleeping Creator cannot help.

Hungry for more? Here's a little present~ ^^

Natural Gift
In Floaroma, the giving of Gracideas is both
a greeting and a blessing.
In gratitude and remembrance,
the people continue to sow seeds of thanksgiving,
blooming lush meadows in the hearts of others.

Long ago, their heads were inclined
in deep murmurs of prayer.
And like an angel, it floated from the sky,
white wings gliding with a dash of scarlet,
filling the lands with radiant energy,
causing the barren earth to burst in rapture and flora.

Now it lives on in the hearts of many.
For when one sees the petals of a Gracidea,
warming red like a heart,
they will remember the spring of life
the Flower Bearer bestowed.

Try and guess what my next piece is about~

A Midnight Meet
In the crepuscular glow of forest canopies,
dusty windows gleam like purple eyes in the dusk.
The pathway is shrouded in wild weeds,
and saplings that never seem to grow nor die.

The heavy doors creak open without a push,
and seals shut behind you as a sign of welcome.
Stone guardians greet you with dark ruby glares
as a cold breeze slithers in from unshuttered holes.

What seemed to be shrieks echo from the dining hall,
and the sound of toppled chairs meet you.
A midnight vision of a figure hovering over a stale banquet
leaves an afterimage - a fleeting grasp of your mind.

Faded ink on torn pages are scattered across the floor.
A portrait steals glances through the walls,
conferring with ominous flashes of a screen.
A clandestine meeting is held behind closed doors.
Perhaps on how to hide the castle's secrets,
underneath the weeds.

Another Halloween-fitting poem? XD;;

Unhallowed
Whisper to me, the stories of your life.
Whisper them to the earth in trapped solitude.
Whisper to the shifting stones and read the writing on the wall.

Hear the wind echo through the tower's cracks.
Hear it tremble as your breath overflows like a geyser.
Hear my voices as I come undone from this fissure.

Nightfall
So much power.
So much adulation.
And what do the gods do in return?
They meddle.

Cresselia cuddles the humans with sweet dreams,
teasing them in the night with sips of ichor.

Heatran makes the mountains his forge,
His ever-changing works
spewing the earth's blood.

Manaphy toys with the hearts of men,
with siren songs that pull them
into the briny deep.

The lake guardians manipulate the human psyche:
One enlightens yet erases memories;
One brings joy that vanishes with the wind;
And one wills men to a state of comatose.

I am a spirit
torn between two worlds:
the waking and the dreaming.

In the shadows of the moon,
I will make my ascension,
to eclipse the heavens themselves.
And I will take my place
Among the gods!

If you can guess who's the narrator, cookies for you! Oh and this marks the closing of C H A N G E *tears* Hope you enjoyed it~

Ooh I love Soliloquy of a Renegade. Especially this part, great imagery!

I would love to leech off them
until I'm a full Munchlax and fall off,
returning to my rightful seat.

And the last line... it's so foreboding.

I like the theme of Nightfall too. I'd never really thought about how some of the legends seem to purposefully interact with humans, while others don't. I'm going to guess the narrator is Darkrai?

Natural Gift was a nice and happy change from the others!

Aww it's finished? I hope you write something else soon! :)

Thanks for the comments ^^ This poem was one of my favourites to write, and I tried to emulate the Duchess of Malfi's suspense.

ONE GIANT COOKIE FOR THIS GOOD LADY PLEASE =D

The entire idea of meddling gods was somewhat inspired from Greek mythology x3

Natural Gift was a nice and happy change from the others!
I just realized it's the only one with a light tone.

Don't worry, I won't be disappearing any time. ;3
