Some big news came out!
Today Pokemon release a brand new visual for Pokemon Legends: ZA. Along with this visual was the release date for the highly awaited game.
You can expect your return to Kalos and Lumiose City to be on October 16th, 2025! This will be almost on the anniversary of the original Pokemon X & Pokemon Y worldwide release date.
Pokemon Legends: ZA will be released on the Nintendo Switch. Though, there will be a Nintendo Switch 2 edition. This edition of the game promises to have improved graphics and frame rates. There should be an upgrade pack for both digital and physical versions.
Fan ResponseThe visual release with today’s news hand plenty of easily missed details. Though, the most obvious detail will the return of Emma from Pokemon XY. At least a character that looks familiar to her. She can be seen as a focal point for the image behind a Mega Lucario.
The visual had plenty of Mega Pokemon hidden in the image such as Mega Steelix and Mega Salamance.
Still, hidden in the shadows are two characters that are hard to miss. Did you see them?
Below are the fan responses to the release date and this new visual for Pokemon Legends: ZA.

Currently, I’m a bit undecided on Z-A. I didn’t play Legends Arceus so I don’t even know if this will closely mirror that game.

I think I’ll wait for some reviews before deciding, but yeah, I think it’s good they’re returning to Mega Evolutions rather than coming up with a new crazy and wacky gimmick each game. Out of all the things they came up with over the years, I think that was the most popular among Pokémon fans and people still fondly draw them and invent new ones all these years later.

Legends Arceus was super fun, Neo! Most fun I've had with a Pokemon game in years :) I'm a bit undecided on Z-A being set all within a city as I really liked the roaming around aspect of Legends Arceus, but hopefully it feels just as big!

I do have to applaud them for trying something new. Going into more depth with Lumiose City and opening up more to explore than what was possible in X/Y might be fun. Certain games have proven that even if the entire game takes place in only one city, there’s still quite a bit that’s possible. I feel Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example of that, although that’s a very different kind of game!

Collecting Pokémon is fun but what I really enjoy is going into deep and interesting adventures with them. I’d rather have it where maybe collecting all Pokémon isn’t possible, but there’s a deep and intriguing storyline to discover and explore and you can get most of your favorites to take with you along the way.

Yeah I really hope they do a good job as it will at the very least encourage them to keep innovating and trying new things if it does well!

That's fair. The story was pretty interesting but I felt like the main focus was exploring and catching Pokemon. One thing I liked was the overworld shiny animations. It made it really exciting if you saw one in the distance!

That’s the nice thing about Pokémon. They’re versatile and adaptable to so many different kinds of settings, themes, situations, and genres that the possibilities are endless. That and there’s something for everyone in terms of offering many different things for the player to do, whether they like to collect, hunt for shinies, just enjoy the adventure as is, or maybe even invent their own unique way of playing (such as Nuzlocke or only using one type for added challenge).

I’m a sucker for a good story, so I guess that’s why something like the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games really pulled me in with all of their intrigue, suspense, and “things are not what they seem” nature along with their colorful cast of unique characters.

I can't imagine they'll ever top the story of mystery dungeon! I still remember the first time I played the original one. Mind was blown xDD

I never played any past Sky though. Were the later ones good too?

Sky is still the best, but I liked Gates to Infinity as well as Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. They're all quite good with a lot of emotion and charm to them.

Yeah, I wish we'd get more games like that. Being a Pokémon is fun and gives you a very interesting and different perspective.
