Hi everyone, I'm here to show you some of the pokemon-related art I've done! I have lots more, so I'll add more stuff to this thread every so often.

Depends on the complexity/size and how much time a day I spend working on it. Some (like the small umbreons) I can create within a day and others like the giant umbreon take much longer.

Those plushies are just adorable. Do you make your own patterns, or is there somewhere you get them?

I tried to start plushie-making a long time ago, but I just couldn't understand how exactly to set up a pattern for the life of me.

Also I'm really liking you use of hue-shifting on that second painting (your most recent update). It's really prominent on Scyther and Especially Yanmega, but I think Heracross could have benefited from it as well if you were to have it go more into the indigos / purpley colors as the shades get darker.

The patterns are made by me!

It's definitely a tricky thing to learn how to do. Practicing with already made patterns is a good way to get an idea of how pieces fit together though, and there are plenty of great patterns out there. I could find some for you if you like.

Holy smokes, these are AWESOME! Man, you have serious, serious skill. I don't know what you did to build these skills, but it definitely paid off handsomely!

I honestly don't know which of these three projects I like most, they're all incredible in their own special way. I guess I'll go with the Pikachu, since that's pretty unique and it looks incredible.

I'm really enjoying the subtle, watercolor / marker effect on the Litten. I feel as if Pikachu's shading is much more harsh compared to your others, and it might benefit from some subtlety. Liking the shading on the Flareon, though! Good job on making the shading reflect the lighting and atmosphere of its environment.

And as always, I love your plushies! You keep getting better and better with them. :D

Wow, that's a LOT of awesome pictures!

The shading is definitely very well done (that's the one area I have the most trouble with). You also do a great job of capturing many different expressions as well as drawing Pokémon in different poses.

Basically tutorials and just plain experimenting. My advice would be to find one thing you want to learn how to do and look up a tutorial on that. Once you're familiar with that, move on to something else and so on. You'll start getting familiar with everything.

I wanna be able to utilize the program to make my comic better. Just having trouble getting past basic sketching.

Maybe look up some tutorials on comic making or lineart/coloring? I think that would help. You can play around with it too once you feel comfortable and try to find a style you like.

Looking good, Scy! I love the ominous shadows in the first image, kinda creepy. .n. And the dust/fade effect in the foreground of the second one. Those Pokemon look mean, so I wouldn't wanna cross 'em!

Wow, Scy! Your animation is really impressive! I've only ever done looping small animations. A short like that must have taken ages to complete! I like the movements! Particularly Eevee's tail. The way that it sweeps side to side, it's so life-like.

I loved looking through all your drawings! Your shading is awesome and you're great at showing Pokemon's personalities.

Those Vaporeon plush are gorgeous, I can see why they sold out so quick! They look pretty big too! How long do they take you to make?

And thanks! They are pretty big. They each take a few days to make at least, but these six were made over a longer period of time where I kept taking breaks so I'm not entirely sure. xD

Ive been thinking we should work on a small project together! If you have the time that is. I reazlie you have a comic already but maybe we can try working on a panel of each others comic and see how it turns out!

I have like 12 unposted pages of my comic (gonna start posting on fridays once I post the three or four pages I have up other places on here) so that would be a little hard. XD But maybe we could make up a really short comic idea, and each do panels for it? Or! We could do redraws from each other's comic. Like we each pick a panel that's already there and draw it in our style. Something like that. xD

I dont have traditional panels. So you can pick freely from any comic. The season 3 stuff is probably the best stuff I have.

Thanks! I've never had a class. My mom taught me to sew (by hand) when I was little, and I just kept doing it and learned from there.

Oh my gosh, how cute!! Those Vulpix just look so sweet and happy <3 They look so soft and fluffy too, you did a great job getting that across in the colouring!

The Growlithe is great and is a unique pose, and the way you did that grass background is awesome! I've tried drawing grass and it's hard to do without going crazy trying to draw each individual blade.

Even looking back at some of these they're really nice and got their own uniqueness to them! The one with Growlithe leaves a feeling of question as to what it's lookin up at while the surrounding effects from the grass (perhaps even blowing in the wind) being a very nice touch as well!

Hey! not gonna lie, I'm hopping on the first art threads I see just to hit this challenge on the forum. However, it also gets people to actually look at and appreciate peoples' artwork.

So I had a look see at your latest piece, and I gotta say, you have a lot better understanding of anatomy than I do. Especially with animals. I'm also impressed with your shading technique. I will say that I had to focus on the Growlithe because the ground and grass' blurring effect and the way the colors run together kinda threw me. Made my eyes go out of focus and it kinda hurt (This might also be due to my Diabetic blindness). I won't ask you to go and change it. But maybe next time aim for a little separation? Like...? More definitive grass lines? I don't know. All in all, your image of Growlithe is really, like everyone else said, unique. Especially with the pose, and taking on an angular challenge like that. Much respect. Now that this challenge has brought me here, maybe I'll stick around and see where you go from here. I might also play catch up with everything you've been doing. o:

Okay, so this isn't pokemon related, but I did these doodles (which I then added more detail to, I didn't plan to fully color the drawing and it was just supposed to be doodles but I got carried away XD) about a weird dream I had about My Little Pony.

So in the dream I was my MLP sona and me and a group of dream-ponies (the blue pony is the only one I really remember the colors/design of, the others I kind of had to make it up because I forgot) were captured by this really tall evil unicorn. There were these weird black ring things put around our horns that prevents us from using magic, it couldn't be taken off except by the pony that put it there. And also anyone with wings had some sort of spell put on them to prevent them from flying.

After we were captured we were taken to this weird underground dystopian-type city. The unicorn captured changeling-me and took me to a weird building. In this part of the dream I was the blue unicorn leading the others trying to rescue the real me. XD The dream was actually really intense because it was super hard to sneak into the building. We ended up getting help from a pony that worked there, though we weren't sure we could trust her at first. I don't remember the details but I remember there was tons of security and we never would have gotten close without the help of that pony.

We found changeling-me and freed her, and then from that moment on I was changeling-me again. We escaped, and then had to hide out in the city while there was a big search for us going on, and from that point I woke up.

In January, I had another really intense My Little Pony dream, and I finally finished this picture I drew of it.

The dream took place in some weird version of Equestria, and this huge apocalyptic flood was happening, like most of the land was slowly being covered by the flood. The dream focused on Starlight and Thorax, who were for some reason traveling alone together (I think they were trying to find Twilight and the others, or got separated or something). All these ponies and creatures were constantly trying to move to higher ground to avoid the flood.

I remember Thorax for some reason couldn't fly. Thorax's wings were not damaged in the dream, but I drew them that way because the dream didn't explain why he couldn't fly other than some vague "He was injured" (which he didn't look like it in the dream). Maybe this part of the dream was influenced by a part in the story I'm planning where Thorax gets an injury that makes him unable to fly for a while. Starlight couldn't use her magic very well or at all for some reason (that was also never explained), but I think that was because of something affecting all magic rather than a problem Starlight herself had.

Throughout the dream, I was sometimes Thorax, sometimes Starlight. I remember a part where I was Starlight, and she heard that some ponies had built a "road to safety" before the magic went wrong, and that ponies who couldn't fly were using it to escape the flood. This road turned out to be this weird boxy "tunnel" (that looked more like a hallway) made out of metal and glass that had a blue tint to it. It looked very well built and us and all the ponies traveling through it were sure it was leading us to safety and that the ponies who made the "road" would be waiting to help us at the end.

But as we walked on, it slowly started looking more and more decrepit, or like the later part of the "road" was hastily put together. And we realized it had started leading downward. Then when we finally exited, we realized it had led us to this huge cavern. We couldn't immediately see a way out, and there was nothing there but rocks and mud. Other ponies started crying out, wondering why the ones who built the "road" would lead them to such a place and then abandon them. Most of the ponies who had arrived were unicorns or earth ponies but there were a few pegasi. They were all acting very afraid.

In a part where I was Thorax, Starlight saw a makeshift pump thing that seemed to be pumping fresh water. She led me over to it, so we could get a drink. However, once the other ponies noticed us, there was a stampede for the fresh water and we got pushed away. As we backed away, I looked up and saw a hole far above in the ceiling. Then we noticed something horrifying - there was salt water leaking into the cave from various points in the ceiling.

There was panic as the ponies realized the cave was not safe, and faster than seemed possible, the floor was being covered with water - at least a few inches. At one point soon after this, the dream switched around and Starlight was the injured one and I(as Thorax) had to pull her to safety as the water rose. After that, we noticed that other ponies had found the exit, and I think I was Starlight again trying to help Thorax. I don't remember exactly how that part went, it was kind of confusing.

The "exit" was this poorly constructed elevator shaft in the cave wall that was in a weird place/had been hidden from sight. I remember it being really hard to climb over the rocks to it, but we made it. The elevator shaft was partially covered with water and we knew it would soon be inaccessible. However, despite the crowd of ponies we managed to get onto it, and as it was lifting us up through this space in the cave wall, I woke up.

I think the funniest part about this is that it somehow implies that Thunder of all people will now take Yenn on a soul-searching trip where he finds the scientists who vivisected him and it's like... for some reason I CANNOT picture Thunder doing that XD. Blazefang or Scytheclaw maybe, but I get the feeling that Thunder would probably just be like "No idea. Figure it out yourself!"

This is a silly comic I made about my MLP story, Beneath the Surface (which I will post soon). While writing, I had a lot of anxiety and I kept not being able to think of the right words, so I drew this silly joke comic imagining that the story was a movie and the characters were actors, and when I couldn't think of the right words it was the characters forgetting their lines, haha.

Thanks! I mostly just tested out some different brushes until I found one that kinda worked, and just stared with darker colors and added brighter ones afterwards. I drew this a while ago so I don't remember exactly which brushes I used, but I think there are quite a few that can work!

Man I had some catching up to do on these. You've been hard at work on these! They're all so incredible! The lighting, to the little details in the caves and the cell/prison. The character expressions are just as incredible! It's super easy to tell what you're going for and what's happening. You're amazing at making these pictures incredibly detailed! Man, that's crazy quality there! Nice use of soft and cozy pastel colors and shading!

Especially great job with the ornate design and detail of the balcony guard railing. Doing that kind of thing over and over would have completely driven me up a wall. XD

This is so cool!! Doing these like split focus pictures can be really hard since it can have too much going on at once but Twilight's prominence in panel size and the text at the bottom really draws the focus to her. And the lighting and size of the center panel works similarly.
