What are your favorite bosses to fight in video games? These could be minor, major, or final bosses. Even bosses that you fight that later just appear as a regular enemy count. What battles stick with you either for the climactic lead-up, the epic battle, or the satisfying conclusion?

(as a courtesy, if bosses are major spoilers please put them in a spoiler tag C: )

To start things off, I'm going to be that person that says everything in Shadow of the Colossus. Those bosses were amazing! But to narrow it down, I'll go with Avion and Phalanx.

Avion's battle is just awesome. The 5th Colossi, up until now you've had--while incredible--grounded encounters. Avion is the first flying Colossi. Once you climb on you're holding on for dear life and it tries to spin you off. What I find even more amazing is that people use this to their advantage and somehow time it and fall from wing tip to wing tip (see ~1:05) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80yqjMGf4l8&feature=watch_response). Watching time trials for Shadow of the Colossus is just crazy. I highly recommend it if you have time to spare (all fastest times are under 2 minutes so it's not a long watch (http://teamico.wikia.com/wiki/Time_Attack#High_Scores_-_Video_Leaderboard)).

Phalanx, the 13th Colossi, I enjoy for different reasons. When I first battled it, it was actually really annoying since I couldn't get the timing right to hop on. But one thing that is different about this boss battle is how Phalanx doesn't fight you. Even when you're stabbing the poor, majestic beast to death it still does not fight back. I cannot think of a single other boss that is so passive towards you. Most bosses either initiate the fight or at least fight for self-defense. He will only dive underground to get away from you. It makes you realize how much of a terrible person the main character is (yeah he's trying to bring his girlfriend back to life but still...). :C

So what are your favorite bosses? C:

First thing that comes to mind is this:

Yoshi's Island - Final Boss (Baby Bowser) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anv1LZzX-Qw) - This may not seem like much now, but at the time, it was a pretty neat way they changed the perspective of the last boss fight and the music was really awesome as well. Baby Bowser wasn't a terribly hard boss, but it could be tricky, especially when your footing kept getting destroyed and made it easy to fall off. Great finisher to an already great game.

Super Smash Bros. Melee Event 51: The Showdown (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V7bUo63wlw) - I loved this battle. At first, it was frustrating as hell, but eventually it was just too much fun pounding the stuffing out of Mewtwo, Ganondorf, and Giga Bowser again and again that I went ahead and beat it with every character (some were definitely harder than others, and I think Ice Climbers was where I had the most trouble). I found the best character to use for this battle was Fox, as Mewtwo and Ganondorf mindlessly wear out their shields if you just keep spamming laser fire at them and you can run circles around Giga Bowser with the help of Fox's jet pack as soon as he got close. Overall, it's a fun battle.

Nemesis - resident evil 3 I beat him on my second try and was very difficult at first but meh...
Gigyas (Idk if I spelled it right) - earthbound not hard but the battle music was awesome

Having just beaten Borderlands I really did love the final boss fight C: It was nice that they gave you the exact amount of ammo you needed when you ran out because that was definitely a bullet sponge. My only problem with it was it was most certainly hitting me through walls .-.
