Since the General Spriters' Showcase has an indirect function of serving as a critique area, I'll keep this unstickied for now. Think of this as an experiment of sorts.
I'm really fond of art critiques and the act of doing so, but I'm always really hesitant of who I should give it to since, let's face it: not everyone wants it. And if you spend all your time on doing something for someone that they never wanted to begin with, then that's just effort wasted. Which isn't cool. Trust me, it's happened to me before. :\ As I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people around here, too. *coughXanthePokefarmcough*
This being said, if you specifically want your pixel art to be critiqued, post it here. It will be critiqued either by me or whoever else feels like it...so probably also Suicune's Fire. x] Just keep some things in mind, 'kay?
If you want feedback, you need to come in here with an open mind. Don't come in expecting you to get nothing but praise, but at the same time don't expect to get nothing but negatives.
I'm not the best at sugarcoating things since it really just...wastes time, I guess? I myself will tell you what I like about something, negatives, lead you in the right direction as to how you can fix it, and try to be encouraging. ^^; I do my best, but please note that I am NOT trying to break you down...not directly, anyway. Sometimes you just have to break down a wall before you can build it back up.
I'll try to use the "sandwich method," especially if I'm not sure how you'll respond to begin with. This means, basically, that you structure your crit like this: mention something you like about the art, mention the negatives and improvements, and then end with something encouraging. I'm not trying to chase anyone away, here. Please don't feel intimidated! I'm posting this so that I AND whoever else would like to help can do just that: help.
If you want something critiqued, make sure you post it here.
If you specifically don't want any trace of mushy-gushy-sugar-coating, please say so. It makes the job easier for me, tbh
Thanks, guys! Hopefully I didn't chase too many people away. :P
