Nintendo have had a whole range of consoles released in their time, and they are all completely unique and different. Ranging from the retro consoles like the NES and N64 to the Wii and Wii U for Home Consoles and from the Game Boy family to the DS family for handhelds.
Which for you was the best console that gave the best experience, had the best games and was the best overall?
I've got to admit, I haven't really had many of the retro consoles, my oldest being a Game Boy Advanced that I only had about 3 games for, but it was a great handheld for the time. My first Nintendo home console was the Wii and I upgraded to the Wii U two years ago, so haven't had much experience with the older home consoles either.
I had no experience with the 3DS as I thought it wasn't worth it, but as the New 3DS line was release Friday, I went and bought the Zelda bundle on so far, it is far superior to the DS/DSi in many aspects, even if I can't use the 3D all the time. I also like the homage to the older handhelds that the new 3DS models have, with the coloured ABXY buttons and I got the Metallic Blue XL model and the colour, even though slightly darker, reminds me of the N64 blue colour.
The Wii U, I feel is superior to the original Wii and I don't know why it gets such a bad rep. It has a handheld device which can work by itself and without a TV with almost all titles so you don't need a TV to play games and as it is HD, the graphics are great. It's like having a Wii with a DS-like ad on to it. I also like the whole Miiverse thing they have set up. Eventhough a little inappropriate for younger audiences, the teenage and older audience could use it well.
I also think the games are great for the new consoles as they bring a fresh new approach to many franchises.
Therefore, my vote either goes to the 3DS[XL]/New 3DS[XL] or the Wii U as they are what I have mainly experienced. I think my vote will go to the 3DS, however, as it was a real innovative risk and with the new consoles approach with the corrective 'super stable 3D' think they have fixed many issues.
