... Because otherwise they would get too confused....

This is pretty strange considering the faceplates (regular New 3DS only) are kind of the defining feature besides the extra circle pad. :P No other country was deemed to be too confused... :P Does Nintendo think Americans are silly?

^ I'm very upset about this. I had to get the New 3DS XL because NoA's a bunch of jerks. ;______;

I thought I had heard elsewhere that it was due to the fact America has the "bigger is better" mentality, and they thought they would make a bigger profit off of just bringing the New XL over rather than both New systems, not that I'm complaining, I upgraded to a 3DS XL a while ago and love it because of its larger size. I was much more disappointed in the fact they thought selling it without a freaking adapter/charger was okay, which is why I'll be holding off on upgrading for a bit, despite the fact I could really benefit from the face tracking 3D.

Here's what I think no offense to the other Americans out there but as an American myself and somewhat of a historian the common trend in the United States is, as Winter stated, bigger is better. Many Americans also like to spend money so when something new comes out they just have to have it. Now that's not to say all Americans are like that. I'm certainly not and there are a few people I know who aren't either. However, the sheer amount of people I know, ESPECIALLY gamers, always obsess about the new systems coming out more than the games themselves which irks me to no end. Personally I'm somewhat glad for my small stature because my hands are so small, I can't even hold the XL systems well enough to push the buttons. But that's beside the point, I think Nintendo realizes that many gamers really like consoles more than games to a certain extent in America, so they figured they'd make some money off of us and sell it solely here.

Agreed. It's sad, but the truth, and it drives me crazy...as well as how many people are buying XBOne and PS4 to watch stuff on Netflix/Hulu.

Yeah this is honestly the most ridiculous thing. They already sold 3DS without an adapter everywhere else in the world but included it with the US versions. Now I guess they removed it from there as well for the New 3DS.

What the heck are they selling them without a charger for? How are people supposed to charge it...?
Either way, I think it's a bit silly that both sizes weren't released, especially because of the face plate thing. When I get one (and I will when Pokemon gets perks on the N3DS), I'll get an XL anyway, but there are people who prefer the normal size. I would say import it, but there are region locks and what not that would scare me away from importing. Oh well, I suppose.

Nintendo thought it would be a money saving move to sell chargers separately. Originally they did it because the 3DS used the same charger as the DSi, so they said people could just use their DSi chargers. Of course not everyone had one. >_> And now I guess the New 3DS charger is the same as the 3DS charger maybe? I'm honestly surprised they can sell them without a charger. xD

Yeah the N3DS uses the same charger as the 3DS/XL.

Selling a handheld without a charger for "they use the same one as those before" is the most ridiculous thing. -__-
I actually prefer the normal sized 3DS and was looking forward to the face plate thing... I bet they charge more for the XL too. Y U DO DIS, NINTENDO?!

I am VERY disappointed that the regular New 3DS isn't coming to America (at lest not for the foreseeable future). I haven't seen the New 3DS XL in RL yet, so I don't know about myself, but like Noblejanobii, I have small hands, so I don't know if I'd be able to properly hold an XL, let alone play on it. I'm going to Gamestop at my local mall either tomorrow or Sunday, so if they have a demo 3DS XL there, I'll check it out. I want to upgrade to an XL, but if I can't hold it or play properly, I don't know what to do.... =/

I don't know if the New 3DS is gonna have exclusive games at any point. I doubt it. So you could just use your 3DS until the next generation console comes out, probably.

Xenoblade Chronicles. It apparently needs the faster CPU.

Oh, really?! Darn. I don't really want to upgrade haha. I thought the New 3DS was just a thing like the DSi.

Nope, it would seem that the upgraded CPU may be a draw for certain games, and apparently it's a good thing to have otherwise anyway, especially if you're someone who mostly does digital games. I'm tempted to upgrade just for the prospect of actually being able to use the 3D without getting a blurred mess the first time I turn the screen the wrong way. I'm waiting to see if we get more pretty special editions, though. XD The red and black models the US got don't really appeal to me.

Either that or they think the phrase "Everything's bigger in Texas" applies to the United States in general. We are pretty silly, but that's our charm! I wonder why they haven't made face plates for the new 3DS XL, either. Guess they needed a reason to make the older version still be cool...?
And my current 3DS XL is only 2-3 years old. Frick if I'm turning it in. I STILL HAVE AN ORIGINAL DS FOR PETE'S SAKE.
