There are some who see the Phoenix as a majestic bird of resurrection, connected with the blazing sun and fire, living for hundreds or possibly thousands of years. We see it as a fiery, asskicking bird that cheats death like it's nobody's business and has nothing to lose plunging into all hell of a fight.

Who are we? We're committed, wild warriors out to fight the good fight, and have a damn fine time while we're at it. This is the Phoenix Battalion, the best rag-tag gang of freedom fighters you'll ever find. Whether you're a cowboy, a speed freak, a hardened soldier, a road warrior, a daredevil, or some wild combination of all of the above, you'll find your place here and enjoy making a name for yourself. We're brazen, we're unpredictable, and we enjoy getting our hands dirty with the kind of work no one else would even touch. Vigilantes, renegades, and rogues, there are those that will uphold the law like any good cop, and then there's us, the ones that criminals and murderers fear the most because we don't let bureaucracy and formality have a spit in what we do. Meanwhile, while we use a wide variety of Pokémon, we mainly identify with fire and flying types, because who doesn't like freedom and a good cookout?

When the rest of the world's gone to hell, we're still out there fighting, being a die-hard pain to our enemies. We hate injustice, spit on corruption, and when evil bastards give us the finger, we turn the other cheek and walk away, because distance helps when the explosives they never saw go off. There are times when some people give up hope, and then we show up, gloves off and ready to get our hands dirty and kick butt. We're unorthodox, we're not what they expected, but man, we get the job done.

If you want a completely customized Phoenix Battalion banner, I'm totally game for making them and really want to make these banners shine. I figured I could let the sample banners be the kind of style you'd like to go with when you tell me what kind of banner you'd like, but yeah, I think it would be better if everyone on the team had their own unique banner rather than copy paste the three that I have up there over and over again. Also, if you have a Phoenix Battalion banner already, I'm totally fine with you keeping it or requesting a new one.

Well, both Bron and I would really like to be a part of it. Heck, Bron even made the RP and it's been approved by the War Leaders, so it would be cruel and unusual punishment to have him sit out of it because we couldn't get enough members to become official. There's no way I would want or could expect him to do that. So yeah, the 15th is pretty much the deadline for PB to pick up enough people.

Also, I never could have dreamed Trainer would get the 20+ members they just got in one day, especially when I went out of my way to be the first team created and worked hard on the banners and such. Sarah's reputation is just way stronger than mine.

I could attempt to recruit people I know from Serebi, but I think it's a bit of a long shot, especially since I haven't been very active there. I don't really have the time to go on a big recruiting spree either...

I could probably get something set up but there's no guarantees until I get there.

What I can do is lighten the colors on the text gradient, which should make it a bit easier to read. When I get some time, I'll try giving that a go.

Sara and Neo have strengths in different areas, Bron, and certain strengths and styles appeal to some people more than others. Therefore, it's difficult to flat out impossible to objectively rank artists.

Everyone's banners are awesome in my opinion. Just a matter of how you express your style ;3 I finally got around to making mine, but I think there could be a touch more tuning done on the colors (and text oops) but it definitely works for me~

(It also made me realize that I'm probably really rusty in banner making. Incidentally, if the Graphics Art side of War is banner making, sign me right up!)

Well, we could do this two ways, depending on what people prefer. First is using Skype, and the second is opening a secret Phoenix Battalion forum for members only. We used a secret Team Aqua forum last year and it worked quite well when it came to organizing attack plans and strategies for the RP.

I've seen both methods work pretty well and I'd be open to either.

I think I might go with the hidden forum idea. Sometimes getting everyone together for chats is a little tough considering time zones and the fact some peeps like me have full time jobs, so we can only come online at certain times. Also, it might help us keep ideas and plans a bit more organized. But chats are all good fun for the casual fluff and essential goofing around. :)

Anyone know of a good free forum service though? I just tried Zetaboards and all the stuff I created isn't appearing on the main page for whatever goofy reason. Think I'll go with something else if someone knows of a better forum hosting site.

Like Psychic, dragon, water, electric, ghost, and dark a lot more. Though I also like steel (Metagrosssssssss), ground, ice and fighting (Lucario especially) quite a bit too haha

Dragon is a thing with this team (Dragons with Levitate), as is Fighting technically since Blaziken and Infernape. Your likes do fall in line with the team if you ever wanted to switch, Sou.

Yep, that's my voice! As for thinking I was a girl, I figure that might be because the Emolga pictures I use for my banners and avatars are usually from the female Emolga Iris has, who incidentally uses the move Attract all over the place.

Most people I’m familiar with so far are in trainer, being I’ve only have enough time to get GCEA down (I literally started becoming active like May 1st lol ). Unfortunately, while I do use a base to start, it takes me a bit to make them. I would also have to have clear references/information and easy access to that person (if I made it for someone). It’s a bit easier to make for myself since I make all the decisions. It was also easy to make for Zenith because she’s an IRL friend and I could literally work on it as she watched me. I may do so in the future, but for now, I don’t think I could. Not saying I won’t or can’t, as anything’s possible lol

btw, that tutorial was awesome. I cant believe I didnt think about the polygonal lasso for that! or the pen tool. I'm always using the regular lasso and I use the pen tool sometimes when I dont feel like using the brush tool for lineart. I also never use the Luminosity layer effect, so that one caught me offguard haha. Watching that video also reminded me that I could be using the color balance tool. I'm always adjusting color using the hue/saturation tool....so maybe color balance will make my life easy lol

To be honest, I don't really watch the Pokémon anime anymore either, and quit about the same time you did. I did look for Emolga pictures, and felt screen capturing from the anime episodes streamed online was a pretty good way to do that. But while watching the episodes were Iris's Emolga makes an appearance, I was totally cracking up at her devious and mischievous antics.

So I've been talking to a few other people on Skype, and I came up with an idea:

I'm proposing a merge with Team Awesome. Right now, we're looking at this:

Team Trainer - 20
The Prism League - 16
The Phoenix Battalion - 9
Team Awesome - 7
Team Magma - 5

Team Trainer and The Prism League both have a big lead up on both of our teams in terms of member count and power. However, if both Phoenix and Awesome were to merge, the gap would be closed in significantly and all of us would stand a much better chance at winning the WAR. Plus, both of our teams have strong common interests in things like graphic art and RP, so there's a strong synergy there and I definitely think we would work well together as a united team. Plus I honestly think this would be a great opportunity for all of us to have a better chance at winning the WAR.

So far, I've talked to Sabi, Bron, and XaiakuX himself, and everyone seems to like the idea.

We haven't worked out the exact details yet, but I would like to hear everyone's thoughts and ideas on this first. I will definitely take everyone's opinions and thoughts into account.

Contrary to popular belief, Mr. Scizor isn't 100% of an jerk. He is capable of being a nice guy. Not as often as he should be.

Team Awesome Phoenix Battalion isn't a hard name to go by. Everyone could keep their banners and userbars. I'm not sure how hard it would be for Sarah to give everyone new ones.

Sorry guys, but with regards to some recent developments, we're going to need to call this whole merge thing off.

Quite a few members (don't really want to name people) have expressed a disliking toward this merge and I really don't want it to escalate into something ugly and nasty. And if our merged teams were to win, I'd hate to see it turn into something like "oh, they only won because they merged" and wouldn't recognize it as a true win either.

Therefore, it's probably better if we just let things continue as they are.

I will be overseas for about 2 weeks, so I won't have reliable internet until July 7th. I can get on to post and stuff since my phone still has data, but other than that, it'll be pretty iffy until I get back.

Basically this means I can still post for the RP, but my entries in Pixel Art for the next two weeks mayyyyy be a bit iffy. It depends on whether I can find the time to get an entry together, and then upload it from my phone, which isn't the best option, but I can still do it.

Don't feel bad, I haven't been posting in the RP either. I'll be honest, I haven't really felt all that motivated to do so, and it just doesn't feel all that fun like the last WAR RP was. It's crazy, here we came up with all these intricate PVP rules and 48 hour posting rate rules to ensure fairness, and, well, no need to worry about those anymore! There's been absolutely zero PVP fights in the RP at all and RP activity has been pretty minimal. Trust me, if you're worried about your character getting killed in the RP, it's never going to happen.

Also, I've had recent WAR Leader duties I've needed to attend to (I've been absolutely die-hard on getting scoring done on time knowing what happens if you let that fall behind), and I've been extremely busy with real life stuff to the point where I barely come on Skype anymore (I'm sure a lot of people in PB are wondering where I am). By the time I get a moment to work on entries, it's already the weekend and time's up for submissions. Friday night is like maybe my only open window, really.

I think my mistake was deciding to be a WAR Leader, a Team Leader, and a WAR Judge all in the same year WHILE working fulltime. Doing even just two of those things while working fulltime would be a very tough stretch, but all three, it's madness. You're going to be SAPPED with very little chance of getting entries in. I feel a bit bad because of it, because I know people wanted to coordinate things together in the RP, and I've honestly had to say "hey, just bunny me if you need to."

So yeah, that's kind of where I'm at. I was all too eager to get involved with just about every role I could possibly sign up for in the WAR and I definitely signed up for too much...

As painfully hard as it is for me to admit, I actually seem to do much, much better if I mostly lone wolf in an RP and just interact a little bit here and there, but have the freedom to come and go as I please. In Team Aqua, it was a very "hey, what is it you're planning? That's cool, have fun doing it! We'll meet up later with our worked on and built up stuff and go nuts!" And I loved that, it was an easy and very free-going method that worked for everyone.

For me, it's been mainly about time. Glory be, I have so little of it and the truth is, when you're a WAR Leader, that's going to be your big focus during the entire WAR, and actual participation is going to be on the low end. I haven't been doing all that well either, so I think even in the stuff I have been participating in, I haven't really done the best job that I could do. XP

I don't think I've ever been so frustrated with Creative Writing. I haven't been able to participate at all this year, and considering how I dominated the section last year (I'm not trying to gloat here, but I mean, the points do speak for themselves, and there was a lot of competition!), I'm feeling very... inadequate, I suppose? It's been a nasty combination of work, depression (specifically, "lack of motivation" kind), and just how difficult the parameters are. I'm used to having some constrictions, but not that many ^^' Just as I have trouble writing with a word limit, it seems I shut down when it comes to having too many restrictions to follow as well.

Meh... I guess this year was just a bad year for me. Been having trouble finish short stories I start, too, so it's not just here.

Sorry for not being much use this year, guys! I said I wasn't going to overstretch myself like I did last year, but I think I took it too far >.>' I'm doing what I can for RP, though.

"Doing what I can for RP" is a total understatement considering you brought home the gold every week! How could anyone complain about that? You're doing great! For me, RP has been pretty much my writing core area. I figure even though participation is low, I can still keep going as a lone wolf.

And hey, sorry if you found working with the CW parameters to be hard. They were mainly meant to be fun, a test to see how well people used them, and it's really interesting to see the way two people use the same parameter for totally different purposes. And yeah, Week 4 is built to be tricky and challenging. It was my way of upping the ante from the weeks prior to that. Plus I really want to see all my favorite stuff appear in everyone's submission! I'm sure everyone's dreamed of wanting that at least once!
