Chapter Five sneak-peaks, progress, and discussion!

Since Chapter four is over, it's time to open up the discussion thread for Chapter Five (yes, this is to help you guys get posts to shorten that hiatus). I'll be posting some stuff later tonight relating to Ch. 5- not any panels or pages though. I'm currently working on the script for the chapter as well as new character designs/sketches since we'll be introducing new characters this chapter. =P

So- thoughts, predictions, hopes? DISCUSS.

Here's the first sneak-peak. =P I'll be posting these over the course of the hiatus.

This here is a character we'll be meeting soon named 'Brane' (Pun definitely intended. Credit to Robin for the name idea).

Brane seems like quite a character; I wonder whose side he's on. When you plan on having him appear in the chapter?

Knowing Neko, he'll probably seem evil at first, but turn out to actually be good. :wink:

I hope Naya will battle and use Flamethrower and miss and overheat and faint and people will go 'goddammit Naya' and Mist will say 'Smashy Smashy' while trying to crush enemies with large boulders or bricks or something similar.

Also, commissions will be opening sometime in the next 48 hours. I'll be putting some time into that so I can afford stuff next semester. Being broke stinks.

Sorry for the missed updates. Been really depressed this last week- been trying to cover it up, but I have a hard time getting stuff done when I'm like this. Been an absolute mess this weekend especially.

I'll make up the missing updates when I can- finally forced myself to get some sketching started- not quite up for lineart, but it's something. Here's a peak of one of the sketched pages.

I do dislike double posting, but whatever. xD It's not like anyone will notice.

For those who haven't noticed, updates have officially resumed. While I want to get on a regular update schedule, I do think that is currently fairly unlikely. I will be spending the semester overseas and am not sure how much time I'll have to work on comics.

Another note, the next PRS page is going to be an experiment. It'll be in a different style than what I usually use for the comics. We'll see how it works.

Well- mostly done with scripting. xD There's two more scenes in the chapter- I've got one scripted. The last one doesn't really have much dialogue, so I didn't script it (I should though)- it's short too.

I was really hoping to keep Ch. 5 to 30 or fewer pages, but I ended up adding to the script as I was sketching the pages. I might have added a total of about 1 1/2 pages worth of stuff extending one scene a bit. I think it might still end up ~30 pages, but let's see.

Though if it does end up longer, that might be good cause I don't know how to handle suicide week if Ch. 5 ends first. I always take a small break between chapters which really wouldn't work during suicide week. We'll see. I'll figure it out. Eventually.

Suicide week started... Forever ago. xD There's usually two every year. One to celebrate Rising Shadow's birthday on May 9th (that's the one coming up!) and usually a second for favorite milestones on Smackjeeves. The next milestone will be 400- current count is 365- so maybe in a few months there shall be another suicide week.

And yeah- it's not that spoiler-y, but I always warn for things that might be a tad bit spoiler-y. Here's the next preview: I'm still working on sketches, so no colors/lines for a while. I've got two or three more pages of Ch. 5 to sketch out.

Also, the PRS board hit another multiple of 50. =P You know what that means~! BONUS PAGE. Or... shortened hiatus. Probably the latter considering PRS is probably gonna go straight to end-chapter break after suicide week (Which is when Bonus pages were meant to resume).
