Do you remember your first crush?! Maybe it was a beautiful girl you saw sashaying through the halls in junior high? Maybe it was a guy you've been friends with for years, and the feelings progressed? Maybe it was Uncle George (this was a joke, but we're a judge-free environment)?

I was digging through some old pictures and I found a photo taken at Myrtle Beach (on the coast of South Carolina, for those unfamiliar) back in 2004. I had just turned 6 two weeks prior to the trip. I remember that I met an older boy, whom I believe to be approximately 9-12 at the time the picture was taken. His name was Keegan, and I met him at the pool because we would jump in together. He'd let me go first sometimes, other times we'd jump together, and he'd do tricks to impress me (embarrassingly enough, I was wearing floaties and he'd be doing flips lawl). It's been slightly over eleven years since the trip and I've never forgotten him. I was recently at the beach (not Myrtle, but I digress), so I thought about him a bit there and then's when I realized that he was my first crush (in the photo, I'm staring at him...and obviously, since I was six, this wasn't like a huge crush that involved sexuality or anything).

I just thought that this was interesting (to me, at least), so I'm curious to hear other first crush experiences!

Okay, first, YEAH MYRTLE BEACH!!! (I just got back from there Thursday and I go there every summer so it's my favorite beach.)

Secondly, do anime crushes count? I'm ashamed to say I've never actually crushed on someone. Well like an actual living breathing person anyway. I've had people crush on me but never the other way around which I think is weird. But I digress. The closest I can come to first crush was probably (and you people are going to laugh at this) Bugsy from Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, Heartgold, and Soulsilver. I don't know what it was, but as I child I can remember playing on my neighbor's gold and silver games and thinking he was awesome. It got to the point where I actually wrote stories about us traveling together and stuff. It doesn't seem like much, but you have to remember I was like... I want to say seven so this wasn't like major crush time.

I think the closest I have ever come to having a crush was acknowledging the fact that if either of these two guy friends of mine (Sam who, while isn't anything major in the looks department, is the best gentleman I have ever met and is extremely smart, and Ben, who is hot as the sun and lovable as a teddy bear and knows a lot but prefers not to study if he doesn't have to) asked me out I would say yes.

(tbh thought bugsy was a girl until a bit after hgss and my first game was gold when i was 2 looool)

Haha, not having a crush on a real person isn't shameful! I'm good friends with a really pretty girl who has crushes on characters (she self-identifies as a "stupid weeb"). I've only had four legitimate, hardcore, almost-in-love crushes over my 17 years. But tbh, I'd prolly say yes if most any boy asked me out, if I had a crush on them or not ;o; /desperatelyf /hoelyf /grosslyf, so I can somewhat relate.

You guys have cute stories! I think mine was when I was 10. I used to play basketball with a whole group of kids at school and I liked one of them, not sure why. He did have a Venusaur TCG card and I knew his family/was close friends with his sister so it may just have been the idea of it all xD My friends found out and told people who told him and he was really shy so he avoided me after that haha.

Character crushes are fun. I liked Steven Stone when I first played Ruby. xD

Lol. Corey don't feel bad. Lots of people thought that. It was so popular they even referenced it in the manga Pokemon Special.

I'm not actually sure how I knew, but I just somehow knew Bugsy was a guy.

Yeah I'm not too worried about, just still bugs me a little bit that I'm the only person in my grade who hasn't even had a crush.

Oh my goodness...I used to match the Johto Gym Leaders up, and Bugsy was always matched with Chuck. ;) Anyway, if you don't have a crush, good on ya, I say. They can be, er, crushing. I'd rather not have crushes, tbh (or be desirable to all men, which could happen soon, as my plastic surgery fund is almost at $10).

Oh my Dog, my first crush was a boy in my elementary school named Kellen. He was athletic and funny and cute and I had a huge crush on him. Near the last day of school one year I wrote him a stupid love letter saying, "I'll try not to fart, I'll try not to whine, I'll just sign my name right here on this line. This school year is ending, so I'm in a rush, to let you know, I have a big crush. On you." I got that poetic masterpiece from Nickelodeon magazine. I had my friend give it to him and I watched him read it from afar. He ate the entire piece of paper and never talked to me about it. I'm still in love.

Here's a pic from Facebook of what he looks like now, still a pretty cute guy. :)

NO! HE'S MINE!

So I keep hearing but how would I know that if I don't have any!

Oh man... it was a long time ago, but back in first grade, I did a lot of fun and goofy stuff with the girls, including drawing fake money and checks for them in crayons for... I dunno, septillions of dollars. The way they got excited and screamed to the point of annoying the teacher was hilarious. There was one girl named Victoria that was fun, crazy, and goofy, and I took a liking to that. She was fun, casual, and even though it was a formal Catholic school, we had a lot of great times together.

I wish I could remember more, but it was... eh, 24 years ago. Ouch. XD

LOOOL. And he is pretty cute now! I like to think that my guy is super hawt (bc tbh he was a pretty hot pre-teen /predator).

You were in first grade when you were 56?!?!

That's such a cute story, Neo!! As a gold digger, I, too, would be enthralled with a rich man (it's actually my life goal).

Lol, I was 9 when I was in first grade, and I'm 33 now (veteran fan!), so 33 - 9 = 24.

I didn't really have a serious crush until I was 16 (Year ten). There was a girl in my music class that was good friends with one of my mates. Ended up talking with her a little through my mate and developed a bit of a thing for her. Granted it was a recipe for disaster, seeing as I was just getting out of the phase of my life where I was bullied heavily and hardly had the confidence to speak to anyone and she was one of the popular girls. Still, I managed to become close with her, and after about four months or so, was going to try and ask her out. She had been saying things like "We'd make a cute couple" and stuff like that, which I took seriously. Turns out she was kidding. Found that out when a photo of her from a party was put on facebook with her tounge down another guys throat. That killed me. It took months for me to get over that, especially since her friends realized and spread it like wildfire. I would be trying to get over her, and some *sshole would make a cruel remark.

Now that I look back I am glad it didn't work out. We were both going in two completely different directions, and I can honestly say, I probably would have followed her. I am happy with where I am now and am glad I didn't.

Well I'm glad you guys are happy with how your crushes worked out. Lol, I can still adore my first crush any time I play Heartgold. xD
