Welcome, one and all, to a fun little game called the Last Poster Wins.

It's quite simple; if you post, you got 48 hours to hope nobody else posts in this thread, and if nobody posts, you win! If somebody posts during that 48-hour time, then the clock is reset.

It's simple, it's fun, and it may or may not take a long time. We'll all find out.

This one will probably last longer. Last one was pretty short huh?

Neo Emolga

Yeah, it varies all the time. Depends on how much of a chat starts up in here.

One day it will go one forever! There will be no end!

That actually sounds a little scary. XD

A never ending thread sounds interesting! Sounds almost impossible. Should we test that? (I'm sure mods or other ppl may know if threads have page limits here...I still don't know xD)

We would have to have quite the subject if we were gonna talk about it forever, that or several quite the subjects. What should we talk about?

Chakramaster
07-11-2015, 03:13 PM
The possibilities are endless. Main thing is...what to bring up first?

Morzone
07-11-2015, 07:56 PM
Something everyone could discuss thoroughly. hmmm...

How about pokemon teams? WHat would everyone's team of six be? Let's assume no legendary Pokemon for now.

Chakramaster
07-12-2015, 02:22 AM
I hate using Legendary myself now. Been trying to work on a competitive team. I can make the 5IV easily now myself (though it's now a perfect 31, the IV checker just says outstanding in all 5 or 6.

I still find it hard figuring out which mega to use. Mawile seems to work great for me, especially running with its egg moves. Other than that it might be Kanghaskan instead. Other than that I haven't got a full team running yet. Nothing but trials with teams and items. Still have a lot more to test, but it still takes time to breed the perfect Iva and then EV train.

Morzone
07-12-2015, 02:36 AM
I like to use Sceptile as my mega, even if it does turn into a type with a x4 weakness. It's fast and strong, Plus it has a really useful ability, which is lightning rod.

Chakramaster
07-12-2015, 03:14 AM
That's one haven't experiment with yet. Probably will need to, but I haven't battle against any teams that put that ability to use yet. They're pretty rare lately. Treecko will probably become of those that will be hard to breed I think.

Neo Emolga
07-12-2015, 03:19 AM
I'm just way too lazy to make competitive teams. Plus I have the wit and know-how of a zombie when it comes to IVs and EVs and all that fluff and jazz.

Chakramaster
07-12-2015, 03:54 AM
Lol I used to be that way on IVs and EVs. Super training made EV training so much easier to keep track of and IMO much faster. IV took awhile since it involves checking the IVs of both parent Pokemon. Now that I got a 6IV Ditto that make it easier (6IV but not all stats are perfect...the IV checker just says they're all outstanding). It just takes a Destiny knot the first time on the Ditto to breed a 3-4 IV Poké and switch out the new one with the old, give the new one one of the power items on a perfect IV stat, and most of the time it'll be 5 if not 6 IV on all stats.....I just haven't got the whole "breeding for perfect nature" down yet lol.

Morzone
07-12-2015, 12:20 PM
Yeah, honestly I don't know what any of this means. :P I'm like neo, I'm to lazy and its way to confusing for me. What does IV and EV even mean?

Chakramaster
07-12-2015, 02:11 PM
Edit: Oops, text wall...got to into that description haha.

IV - the pokemon's Individual Value. When you first obtain your starter or any other/catch it has a random set of IVs for each stat (0-31). 0 being the absolute worst while 31 being the best. If you ever hear someone talk about "perfect IVs it usually means all stats are at 31. All legendaries in games now have 3 stats set at being 3 perfect IVs, though if you're lucky it could be higher. All Pokemon in the friend safari have a set 2 perfect IVs or higher. That's why so many people want a Ditto safari to farm. I only got a perfect 4IV Ditto from it. Though a friend sent me a 6IV Japanese later on I've been using; better chance at shinies while breeding for IVs now

EV - basically mean Effort Value. You can have a total maximum of 510 Effort Value points on a Pokemon. A stat max can only have I believe 202 EVs on a single stat...I'll have to recheck that. EV training basically the Pokemon to gain more points towards the EV trains stats. If you EV trained say a Blissey, it's got two perfect IVs, those being in HP and Def. if you EV trained those Blissey has a better chance of hiring the maximum hp limit and defense limit. If it has the nature that benefits HP or Def then it has an even better chance.

Bulbasaur
07-12-2015, 02:12 PM
I never had patience for even EVs. :P

Chakramaster
07-12-2015, 03:59 PM
EVs used to be pretty hard to keep track of and a bit time consuming (just like Super Training), but for a competitive team it's worth it.

Neo Emolga
07-12-2015, 04:04 PM
I kind of know what they mean, but I have no idea why they decided to do it this way and the system just seems so annoying that I'd rather not work with it. I hear stories of "oh, I had to hatch like 50 eggs because none of them had the IVs I wanted" and I'm like... "wheeee, so glad I don't care about competitive battling!" And then you have the whole OU, UU, and whatever tiers people try to build teams for and that's yet another thing that eludes me. Hence, this is why I've never bred a Pokemon with perfect IVs and then EV trained it. Chances are good if I even tried it, I would flunk on something stupid like giving it the wrong moves, giving it the wrong held item, or something like that even after all that research and effort. Bleh.

Call it ADHD, but I'd rather just have more fun with the characters themselves in terms of drawing them, making RPs with them, and so on rather than try to math everything. So yeah, I'll probably never be a real competitive battler, but I hope those who decide to do that kind of thing have fun with it. It's just not my cup of tea.

Chakramaster
07-12-2015, 07:37 PM
I'm just basic on it all really. I don't have all the nature this, egg move this down. It's all down pretty easily now thanks to my 6 IV Ditto. If it weren't for that I wouldn't care for it all. Thanks to my luck on X I've got about half a box full of shiny Pokemon now so people who breed perfect IV competitive poké would love those.

It is true though, most people have a seriously hard time breeding because it's all from scratch. If at best most ppl only start with 2-3 perfect IVs on a Ditto to start then have to start on breeding 2 separate pole for good IVs and a lot of stuff I'd rather not work on unless I plan on going to Regionals/Worlds...which I do one day...but no time right now to worry about it.

I've messed up on it all before myself when trying and yeah it's tough. People who do it daily plan it all out beforehand with sites like bulbapedia or series.

Neo Emolga

I think ray fixed it. Not sure what exactly he did, but things seem back to normal. Hopefully they stay that way!

Chakramaster
07-13-2015, 04:09 AM
Great job on the fix Ray! yeah it was weird how it was running last night, seemed like it was fixed the next morning then suddenly went down again. Must have been something to do with the server host. Dunno much about that stuff myself lol.

Neo Emolga
07-13-2015, 11:18 PM
Yeah, I don't know what would cause that or what would be done to fix it.

It's crazy, I've majored in IT and have had IT jobs before, and I still feel like I don't even know all that much when it comes to this stuff. XP

I don't think it was big enough to be a DDoS, but I don't know much about those either. I know there's a few different forms of it. If anything it seemed like the site was at a high traffic level, yet not many members and guests were on as opposed to the usual.

Everything I've learned about the internet or computers I've learned from just being logged on. Haven't had any specific classes on it myself. So I'm only about average on this stuff lol

Neo Emolga
07-14-2015, 02:22 AM
I'm guessing it would be a gaming laptop? Usually they're not that expensive if you're just using it for simple stuff.

But that's true, I could use my work laptop also if I really needed a fourth source to get online. Ha!

Chakramaster
07-14-2015, 02:26 AM
Yeah, I'm gonna be aiming for a gaming laptop. Tried last time, but store clerks lie so. The internet helps save me this time! Would try for better honestly, but being jobless and having no calls or emails back after putting in applications makes it hard to work and earn the money for it.....all that and I need to get a N3DS XL before Winter as well....too much money needed this year =3

Neo Emolga
07-14-2015, 02:44 AM
Meh, sorry to hear that, dude. I was unemployed for almost two years and it was flat out unnerving. I almost sapped out my savings.

Now, I'm trying to save up for a down payment on a house. Given, a small house hopefully within the 100K - 150K range, but I went from almost being totally broke to hopefully having a chance in life! So don't give up hope. Hopefully a nice and decent-paying job will come to you soon.

WE INTERRUPT THIS LOVELY CONVERSATION TO GIVE YOU...NUCLEAR TACOS.

Ye shall all perish.

But yeah I'm looking for a job desperately to get me into the market. Like, anything.

Neo Emolga
07-14-2015, 03:09 AM
Pft, nuclear tacos. They've got nothing on my Blitzkrieg Burritos.

(Good luck in your job search also. It's rough but any company would be lucky to have a fun and cool guy like you.)

The Nonexistent Tazz
07-14-2015, 03:15 AM
Oh, these are no REGULAR Nuclear Tacos, dear misguided Neo Emolga...These tacos, THESE FINE SPECIMENS, they are none other than the fabled NUCLEAR QUESTGIVING TACOS OF QUESTGIVING PLUS TWENTY SEVEN!!! THEY SHALL SET UPON YOU THE SIX DEADLY PLAGUES OF QUESTING: REPETITION, IRRELEVANCE, DIFFICULTY, LACK OF GUIDANCE, LACK OF REWARD, AND EXCESS OF TIME!!!

WAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Neo Emolga
07-14-2015, 03:33 AM
Ha! Bring it on! I've wasted hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars on World of Warcraft, so I'm ready!

(Besides, I could really use some excess of time anyway. XD)

The Nonexistent Tazz
07-14-2015, 03:36 AM
...OK then.

NUCLEAR QUESTGIVING TACO APPROACHES!

NUCLEAR QUESTGIVING TACO GIVES NEO EMOLGA A 20-PART QUEST! +27 TO QUESTGIVING!

PART ONE: YE ARE ACCOSTED BY A MOB OF EASILY MURDERED MONSTERS, SUPPOSEDLY. YOU DOUBT THEY WILL BE OF ANY TROUBLE WHATSOEVER. YE ARE TO MURDER EXACTLY THREE, AND THREE IS THE NUMBER OF MURDER. YE SHALL NOT ADD AN EXTRA NUMBER AND THUS MAKE FOUR, OR IGNORE THE PROPER END AND COUNT TWO. FIVE IS RIGHT OUT.

WHAT WILL YE DO?!

Neo Emolga
07-14-2015, 03:46 AM
Easy. Holy hand grenade away!

(I'd be forever SHAMED if I didn't pick up on that reference!)

The Nonexistent Tazz
07-14-2015, 04:06 AM
YE ARE A FOOL, FOR THESE BEASTS ARE NOT FOWL RODENTS. THEY ARE FOWL LAGOMORPHS AIDED BY EQUALLY FOUL CANINES, BOTH OF WHO ARE ANTHROPOMORPHIC, BOTH OF WHO WIELD GUNS, AND BOTH OF WHO ALSO WIELD THE POWER TO IGNORE HOLY DAMAGE. THEY PROCEED TO DO SO AND FACETANK THE HOLY HAND GRENADE. HOWEVER, DUE TO YOUR REFERENCE, EXACTLY THREE LAGOMORPHS DIE OF REFERENCE DAMAGE AND YE PASS. EVERYONE ELSE SHOOTS YOU TO THE SECOND TRIAL. WITH BULLETS.

THE QUEST FEELS THE NEED TO ALLOT YOU ONE (1) FULL HEAL TO USE AT ANY TIME. YOU CANNOT EARN MORE THROUGH ANY MEANS.

YE ARE NOW ACCOSTED BY A DEADLY DEATHTRAP, CONSISTING OF A SERIES OF DEADLY BLADE PENDULUMS DRIPPING WITH WHITE-HOT POISON THAT WILL KILL YOU ON CONTACT. THIS DEATHTRAP IS UPON A THIN AND WEAK ROPE OVER A PIT OF CHLORINE TRIFLUORIDE, THE MOST FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCE KNOWN TO MANKIND.

YE INSPECT YOURSELF AND FIND THYSELF TO NOT BE FIREPROOF NOR CAPABLE OF FLIGHT DUE TO AN IRON BALL CHAINED TO YOUR PERSON. THE HIGHLY-FLAMMABLE CHLROINE TRIFLUORIDE WILL INSTANTLY KILL YE SHOULD YE FALL INTO IT. YE TASK IS TO MAKE IT OUT WITHOUT HORRIBLY DYING TO CHLORINE TRIFLUORIDE. SIMPLE IN ONE SENSE AT LEAST.

WHAT WILL YE DO?

Chakramaster
07-14-2015, 04:11 AM
I'm not a World of Warcraftie, but I have played Vindictus for years and Final Fantasy 14 for more than a year now. There was another called RFOnline, but it got shut down and picked up by another company a few years later only to have me have to restart each time....so it got boring restarting each time. Luckily I won a contest the last time and they offered me a lvl 50 character with v50 gear, all stats maxed for being able to use those types of weapons, and all skills at a GM level. Even now it still sits there weaker than most players now cause the leveling system sucks.

And lol at the Holy hand grenade there Neo.

YE PORTAL LANDS...NOWHERE. THERE IS LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE. IT IS A BLANK VOID THAT SURROUNDS YOU SIDEWAYS, NOTHING UPWAYS, AND CHLORINE TRIFULORIDE DOWNWAYS. PLUS, THE TWO PLATFORMS-THE ONE YE STAND ON AND THE ONE YE NEED TO BE STANDING ON-ARE BOTH BLACK AND NON-PORTAL CONDUCTIBLE. ONLY CERTAIN SUBSTANCES CAN CONDUCT PORTALS, AND THEY ARE ALL WHITE.

THESE QUESTS ARE COMPLETELY UNFAIR, YES. BE FORTUNATE THE FIRST PART WAS SWIFT.

It's funny...I knew about it, yet never used it....until after one of my worst recent experiences where I had a professor (anatomy) that pretty much refused any extra help outside of what he has. Never handed out PPs he made and showed off in class and refused to send it to us in email. He pretty much wanted us to memorize the book itself. Couldn't even record or take pictures of the stuff he showed us.

Come to find out after I dropped it he's the hardest professor on campus and was fired from his job and the medical college in the community for his work methods and how and how he treated the students. I think there was more to it, but it's been a year since and I hate looking back on that stressful quarter. For a class like that you really need one that works well with you and is willing to help and give you any extra notes (like the power points) to help.

Next try after using ratemyproffesor it helped a tremendous amount...wasn't "the best" but it was better and one of my better experiences in that type of course which I tend to struggle with.

Yeah, I've had times where I tried to use it and the professor I found wasn't in the database because they were new. And in grad school, not too many classes were offered where I had the opportunity to be choosy, but it helped a bit anyway to give me a heads up of what to expect from the guys I was going to have to end up taking anyway.

Also, professors that don't hand out their teaching materials... come on. The whole point is to learn the material, the concepts, and be able to apply them, hence why they're putting them up there in the first place. I don't get why some professors don't hand out powerpoints like they're some top secret documents. It saves students from having to write notes and copy slides at 200mph and allows them to reflect back on the class material so they do better on exams.

OK, the short of it is I found this forum game that I really really liked. A BIG one. Like, bigger than AntIvOId big. It's amazing. I've been chosen to become the Game Master of the next game, and I'm going to devote almost all of my time into it if I can help it, or at least all the time I can without crashing and burning in life. Of course, when I brought it over here, it died ridiculously fast due to a lack of interest: THis game isn't suited for a small-but-devoted fanbase.

I feel like I know several people who would be interested in this kind of thing and REALLY enjoy it, which is what I'm considering. I could get someone to theoretically join in on the now-ending game going on right now, but it is now-ending, literally at the last stages, so it would only be a taste and so much would be going to waste it's not even funny. Plus, a small hiatus was just announced by the GM due to vacation.

So there's my dillema.

Yes, it was Destroy the Godmodder. To get a rough idea how big it got: this is it's SEQUEL, and those pages are about twice the size of a standard PxR page, roughly. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/off-topic/forum-games/435676-destroy-the-godmodder-2-operator-end-of-act-4) There are spinoffs (varying canon status as well)-and one of those spinoffs got a sequel as well in the works, out tomorrow! It has a TvTropes Page. It has its own wiki! And I'm running the prequel!

I had a bad feeling it would bomb when I brought it over, for the record: though, the gameplay style suited a somewhat larger playerbase. Not 2-3. I tried doing it to get a feel for GMing the game itself...It Helped, I think.

If there was any person I would recommend to this game it would legitimately be you, Neo. Maybe not DTG2 right now, only because the legitimate endgame, the actual final battle, is underway and you wouldn't be able to use most of the complicated mechanics beyond maybe a special attack or two, which would suck, but I still recommend it.

Also, PSG, aaaaaaaaaaaah. You can always count me in those.

I'd be down for another PSG. Neo has hosted it (what...8 times now was it?) over the years. Basically it's a short term kinda forum game over a few days/weeks.This one (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?4413-The-Pikachu-Survivor-Game-%26%239733%3BMischief-and-Mayhem-Edition%26%239733%3B) was the last one (last year). I can see your issue with that though. Not having enough people would make it difficult to really run for it to really be worth the setup.

Could explain it more in detail, but rest is needed. It's all there in the link I posted as well xD. Simply put it's a survivor game where you try (or most who want to win do) NOT to become a Pikachu. Last remaining Human wins.

Ah... okay, because I thought DtG was pretty much the same thing as Antivoid, and I was confident I could be active in one, but maybe not both. The other thing is the WAR might have caused people to be distracted from it. That's probably another reason why people don't like WAR. It tends to ransack everything else that isn't WAR-related.

As for PSG, sure, I'm game. I'm changing the rules a bit to have Gold Elixir be combined with the Restoration Salve, so basically Gold Elixir cures both Slow Action Pika Flu and/or higher probability number ailments. Also, you can't used a Blessed Cure to remove Slow Action Pika Flu. Haven't thought of anything new besides that. If you have any ideas for new features or weapons, speak up! I might put them in there if I think they'd work and would be interesting to see in action!

I honestly can't suggest much on the PSG issue.

As for DTG: Yeah, again, I kind of felt like I just KNEW it would blow here, and only just because few people do stuff like Antivoid-and they're really only comparable in size and that they have weird RPs going on with them. Antivoid IS the RP, while DTG has actual gameplay mechancis.

At its absolute core, it's Destroy the Wailord (for lack of a better comparison that you know of) except twenty times harder: The Godmodder has 100 or so HP, you can only do small damage per hit (not ALWAYS one or two but USUALLY)...And as his name would suggest, he will Godmod his way out of almost any attack whatsoever bar the most creative and ungodmoddable, and also summons hordes of bosses to murder you with (not one, HORDES), hits like a freight train, is a massive jerk, possesses reality warping powers IRL (You may now panic), and has a single-minded obsession with making everyone Ragequit. It's his job. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, IT TAKES A WHILE. And that's no exaggeration, the first game (the shortest official game) took nine months. The sequal (which i linked you to) took twenty-two months. Oh, and you can summon stuff and charge stuff up as well, to even the odds a little bit, along with other stuff depending on the game.

This isn't a game that relies on logic. It usually relies on the Rule of Funny/Cool/Awesome at all times. You are usually all three of those things, which is why I suggested you more so than anything, but also because you're pretty awesome. It doesn't take too much of an understanding of Minecraft/TvTropes (the media that the forums where the main game/spinoff occur within are based on, respectively)- the game itself is a massive crossover almost all the time.

hmm, but what else could there be....there's not much else I can think of right off, but could give it some thought.

Judging from the sound of it, I think I'd just stick with Antivoid. DTG sounds like it might get frustrating after a while. Come up with a really elaborate attack and strategy, and poof, no damage, you just wasted your time. I don't think I'd be too crazy about trying to take down the same boss for 22 months either. Antivoid seems more fun because you're not facing the same dude the whole time through. It feels more like a zany, fun, go all out version of D&D, which is probably more my style.

Antivoid kind of reminds me of the zaniness of the Epic Battle Fantasy games (they're free to play and they're fun), only massively escalated to the extreme.

on PSG: I forgot...does the Blessed Cure give a free one roll immunity? While it's not too important early on, later on it could mean they just get the cure and could immediately change back.

Nah, Blessed Cure makes you return to human without anything else. And yeah, it's happened where a person go it only to become a Pikachu again. Usually that's just a case of really bad luck.

All this talk about PSG is giving me weird visions of really cute zombie pikachus trying to bite the heads of off humans, Follow up by weird humanoid Pikachus who are half human half Pikachu. Muy repugnante.

It's kind of like a zombie apocalypse, except the Pikachus aren't shambling, moaning, flesh-eaters and still have their human memories. As Tazz mentioned, it's less creepy, more zany.

Well, to be fair nine of those twenty-two months were unintentionally spent trying to kill fifteen time-manipulating gangsters instead of the actual Godmodder, because no-one was too focused on killing them despite them being plot-relevant at the time because they were too busy waging war over other entities on the field. There were other things that took longer than expected as well, but nine months on one boss kind of stands out. The GM admitted that he went a little too big with that game in many aspects, and I have no intention of trying to top him with DTG0-at longest the game will be over in a year. Plus, damaging the Godmodder to begin with is hard but not at all impossible. An early attack against the Godmodder involved betting two damage that the user's previous attack would fail. It worked. It was one line. Then again, I don't want this to drag on, not all that important.

For me it has switched so many times. Started with RF Online as my first ever. Played it to level 45 of 55 (at the current time). Then the company just suddenly dropped it. Years later it was restarted (twice since it happened again a year later).

Then it moved to the main few I played longer. Vindictus (which I still play today). Then there's the ones I'll go back to that I played temporarily when bored S4 League, League of Lengends (which I only find good when you play with friends...otherwise I get bored of it). Tera was good, but with so much detail to it my computer could barely run it at low graphics....now whenever I get a new laptop I may go back. Other than those I do play Final Fantasy XIV still (well...Will go back after I get a new computer set up). Dunno what it is about it, but I keep getting pulled back. It even hinted at the FfVII remake before it was announced.

There might be more, but it's been since 2006 since I've played the occasional few mmos I've tried over the years and mostly dropped. Today it's just Vindictus and FFXIV really

I like good stories/plot in games mainly. I don't tend to look for those in an MMO though. Most aren't really set out to have a set story to know and follow (unless it's just something to read on the side).

@Neo yes, back in those CoD days M4 was where I stuck at most of the time. Same goes with other games like Uncharted (even though that's 3rd person). MW2, man I remember trying to get a nuke was pretty stressful (not like that Pika Flu nuke xD). I had a friend that got so good at MW2 that he offered to get all of his friends that played the nuke icon and banner....which is I think 10 nukes? He got to be way too good at that game. I managed to get the nuke three times. Yeah, it's extremely hard and requires an ungodly amount of camping. It's also one of those things that's an incredible joy for the person setting it off, but annoying for everyone else. There was one game that ended with a failed host migration right when the nuke countdown went off.

Still, I'd rather have someone call in the nuke than the dogs in Black Ops. Nothing like shooting a dog at point blank with a shotgun twice only to have it lightly pounce you and you're instantly dead. Such realism!

Yeah, I would say that happened pretty often, and usually it was the result of someone ragequitting. I'll admit, I was the cause of it sometimes when I didn't even know I was hosting the game (I would have sucked it up and kept on playing if I knew the whole round was depending on me). If you quit and there was a host migration immediately afterword, only then do you find out you were the host. But yeah, if a game is looking extremely bleak and is simply going from bad to worse to absolutely horrible, I cut my losses and go. That usually happened if my KDR for the round was like under .5 and someone brought out the chopper gunner or AC-130. Not sticking around for that.

(though in my opinion, KDR is one of the most pointless and overly analyzed statistics ever)

I'd rather have a few minutes of pure, nerve-massacring hell (keep a death-grip on the chair and channel your pain, anger, and hate into that!) than have to spend many, many hours waiting for feeling to come back to my face. Otherwise, my lips and cheeks feel like dead, fleshy Play-doh stuck on my face and I hate that feeling.

I know the feeling, mate, but for different reasons. I am absolutely terrified of needles. I couldn't stand the thought of one so I got my doctors to not use one. It hurt like nothing else, but those cavities were filled.

I usually prefer the novacaine myself. It'd tough without it though yeah I've tried it before. I don't like the needles and stuff close to my face either, but I push through it cause I know it needs to be done. Better to get through it than to leave it and have further issues and pain arise.

Eh, needles are no biggie to me. Although for some weird reason, I've been prone to passing out after having blood drawn for blood tests. For me, it's all about just really disliking a limp face.

Also, I need to get back into Broken Sun. I'll see if I can cook up a post tomorrow.

Well, I just locked a thread for the first time ever. It felt good.

It must feel good. I could've done it back on another site I was part of years ago, but the Staff there sucked at picking new mods. They'd choose someone who just joined the site or someone who was barely active or even someone who had been banned multiple times over someone like me that was active, never banned, and always helped in those particular sections I would apply for. Man that site was good back then, but the staff sucked and near its end it just fell to pieces. It still runs today, but I try to stay far, FAR away from it now.

PE2K/PXR is the only place where I've been selected as a mod. The people here definitely know how to pick decent mods.

On PE2K, I used to treat a moderator position probably way too seriously to the point where I just became burnt out and too overwhelmed with heaploads of projects and stuff for the forum to take part in. Now, I'm just taking a more relaxed approach and just focus on mainly doing the same stuff I did before, but while keeping a lookout for spambots and stuff. They almost always go after the blog, and since the last blog post thing is right at the bottom of the forum, sniping them out in the open is easy cheesy. I only became a mod a month ago and I've already shot down eight or so spam bots.

Anyway, as for that community you're talking about, eh, join the club. I was on Serebii for a while until they started pushing me around for silly reasons. Not too crazy about the mods there. Well, that's why I'm here and not over there.

Kinda makes me glad in a way GT (Gametrailers was the site I'm talking about) didn't choose me. After the whole site revamp that took away literally everything everyone liked (blogs, factions or private forums, etc). Once they did about 80% of the entire community left, mods, SMods, and some admins included. I wanted to help out before the switch, but now it's......it's just bad.

I've tried serebii before myself. While I wasn't getting pushed around or anything, I did try the trading thread before. Kinda strange what some people want or want you to do.

Meh, that's a shame. In the same way, I liked the way Newgrounds used to be, and then it became too politically correct. Before, not only did they discourage crappy Flash animations from being uploaded, but the glorified the deletion of them (term they called "Blamming") Now, anything can pretty much make it in and there's no prestige to getting a Flash in that survives. Also, the number of submissions has dropped like a rock in recent years. There used to be around 180 submissions a DAY. Then it dropped to something around 30. In the meantime, unfortunately, it looks like Flash is a dying platform as mobile devices don't support it. Plus, making Flash animations takes FOREVER. Given, the end reward is incredible if you put a lot of time and effort into it, but ugh, be prepared to burn many hours away drawing a gazillion things. Thing is, I think animation will always be this way. I dunno, maybe I'll get back into it, but probably not through Flash.

Serebii... it's hard, because there are regular members there that are pretty cool and nice. Their RP section seems to be dying out, though.

I built my desktop computer on CyberpowerPC and they had it shipped to me. Honestly, you get a pretty sweet deal for the price, or at least that's how it was back in 2011. I went from being able to barely play Fallout 3 on the lowest settings on my old, junky computer that kept getting blue screens of death to enjoying the sweetness of playing it on Ultra with no issues at all (besides the game's own bugs, but eh).

And lol, I revisited the CyberpowerPC site to see what it would be like to get an absolutely insanely good computer with three Titan video cards. Around $7000, but hey, that'll last you for a dang long time! XD

Chakramaster

That's good news at least! Even better (rough) idea about how it's going to run. My friend bought his from CyberpowerPC before he left for basic training years ago. Later on he referred me to the site. Now, mine is hanging on a thread for life with little signs of hope. So I just abandoned it until I get my new laptop. Hopefully I can get everything scanned and transferred safely. Gonna be really tough if I got to redownload everything instead.

Seeing as how I play games in my laptop a lot more lately, it's good to know that these computers will run them on High (Ultra). Last time I thought I WAS buying one for it, but being inexperienced in buying the computers, I learned Best Buy employees lie to makes sales. Lesson learned back then. Only thing I really have to worry about is getting new virus protection and laptop carrying case. My current one held out for over 10 years at least.

Yeah, if I were to ever need a new desktop, I'd probably go through CyberpowerPC again. I'd probably look into upgrading the one I have already before I do that, though.

Yeah, I used to go to Best Buy, but not anymore. I do almost all my shopping either at Amazon, or at Target if I need to hit their grocery section, but also pick up a few other non-grocery things along the way. Clothing shopping, which I do every once in a while, I also either go to Target or Khol's.

Well either way Happy Birthday! It is harder figuring out gifts the older we get. The older we get the more expensive items we want, but we can't ask for all of that. Then we just turn to gift cards, which again....is bad. It's a win-lose situation every time.

Neo Emolga
07-29-2015, 12:33 AM
For me, it's not knowing what to get. Usually if I want something, I just go and buy it. So yeah, when the birthday or Christmas comes around, I'm not exactly sure what I really want for those days. The only things I'd actually want would be pretty expensive, at least a hundred bucks most of the time.

I'm okay with getting gift cards. Better the money gets spent on something that will actually be used rather than just wasted on something that won't even be opened up out of it's packaging.

It actually happened to me one of my family members last year when it came to them finding me a gift for Christmas. They couldn't figure out anything for me so they just got me a jersey from our state's baseball team. It's more common than it seems now. If it was 24 I would have won, but oh well. There's still many chances to try again.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon being my absolute favorite series in the Pokemon games (also in my top 3 games ever list with Explorers of Sky) I'm super hyped for PSMD. Just wish they would give out a small soundtrack preview like they did with GTI. They also just announced a PSMD N3DS cover plate with all the starters and important Pokemon on it. Hope they add an XL cover plate to the list. I'd pick that up even if I had to import it.

Morzone
07-31-2015, 08:43 PM
The PMD series has always fought for the best Pokemon series against the usual mainstream Pokemon games. Sky is one of the only games where I could finish the main story and the after story, and still be able to pick it up and play it for hours on end. I didn't know they made a PSMD cover plate, though I already have one anyway.

The real challenge is to convince my brothers to get PSMD. They haven't gotten into PMD yet (which is really quite sad) hopefully I can enlighten them with this new game.

Chakramaster
07-31-2015, 09:40 PM
The cover plate was actually just revealed today from what I saw on serebii. I doubt we will see it outside of Hapan sadly unless we get lucky and get it on the Pokemon Center website. I'll import if needed, cause it looks pretty cool. With this it kind confirms that there won't be a Pokemon themed N3DS XL at launch like there was with GTI.

I've tried getting my brother back into Pokemon games (even though he gave Y a chance when it was released) by getting him to play one of the Mystery Dungeon games, but he turns it down every time. Yet, I'll listen to some YT remixers Mystery Dungeon tracks occasionally and he likes the songs. Compares many to Kingdom Hearts as well, yet still he doesn't want to give them a chance.

It was my brothers who actually got me into Pokemon. They were always playing Fire red, or Emerald on their gameboy Advances and as a young child I wanted nothing more than to play it myself. (little did they know I would one day become the Pokemon Master of the house) All of them are into Pokemon, but they only play the Mainstream games. The only exception is when one of my brothers borrowed Pokemon Coliseum, which he beet in about 3 days because he has this ability to be really good at games he's never played before.

PMD, especially the Explorer games, were the best. I never enjoyed the GTI games in comparison, they just felt lacking in comparison to the Explorer games (though I will not deny the game wasn't brilliant in terms of story). I was fairly annoyed by the more enclosed POV compared to Explorers (when sight was fairly important), the lack of individual IQ skills, and the lack of loot (unlike Explorer, which I loved to horde). Plus the lack of Pokemon beyond the fifth gen. There were a lot of changes, some I'm OK with, but most I weren't. I hope the next game changes that.

Morzone
08-01-2015, 01:27 PM
GTI was definitely not as good as the explorers games. The story line, and especially the after story, were way to short in my opinion. Building up paradise was fun though. The whole concept of the magnagates was amazing, I just feel like they could've done better with it. And then there was the fact you only had 4 choices of pokemon to be and it didn't have the personality test seen in the previous games. That really annoyed me. They brought it back in PSMD though, so hoorah for that.

As for hording treasure, I got to the point where Even my storage was full. You just have to pick up every item on the floor that you find or you're not doing it right.

Chakramaster
08-01-2015, 04:13 PM
Yeah it is true that GTI was lacking in story length, post game content, and options to speed up text. I still enjoyed it for the most part though. The visuals and the sound tracks for the most part. Two of the most annoying parts that pull people away was the lack of playable Pokemon to choose to play as and the gender being set as male for both you and your partner. So it's good to see both are being brought back in PSMD. That as well as the personality quiz. Good to see tough even if you don't get what you want after the quiz that you can just choose.

Morzone
08-01-2015, 04:34 PM
I forgot about the slow text speed, that always drove me nuts. Personally I still liked the explorers of Sky soundtrack best, but PMD always has a pretty good music selection anyway. GTI also had the problem of being too small of a world. And when you did get extra places to explore, you were generally being pushed through the story too fast to do anything with them. From what the trailer showed, PSMD's world is going to be really large, so good things to come!

I liked the Explorers ost the most as well. I really enjoyed the improvements on the sound for GTI though. Hopefully they improve from there on PSMD. From the sound of it some tracks are old tracks improved for the new game. I'm still hoping the theories out there are right about being able to revisit some old places from previous games since the map looks similar in places.

What would be really awesome is if there was more than one town in PMSD. Normally you have one town and the rest of the world is mystery dungeons. It'd be really cool if there were more than one place where civilization persisted.

I don't know how I fully feel about it still, but I kind of want something more co-op to the game, but I don't know how something like that could be implemented really. Unless they do something in the story where there's more than one human in the world that transformed into a Pokemon.

They have mentioned how it's the biggest Mystery Dungeon yet, so there's hope! So there's got to be more than one town. It couldn't be just the size of dungeons. It at least gives hope for the length of the game as well.

Honestly, it would be really strange for them not to. In any case, I'm really looking forward to it. I don't think it'll be possible to play as an Emolga for the main character, but hey, I'm fine with Pikachu.

I kind of wonder if they're going to lay on the feels again for the ending.

Chakramaster
08-02-2015, 06:45 AM
Yeah, Emolga isn't a starter, but I'm sure just like later on you could befriend one and make it the leader. GTI had it as a main character for the story and you could play as it throughout the game, so maybe if it uses the same feature in the latest game and assuming Emolga is obtainable early on, maybe you could.

I'm actually wondering (at least after seeing the scene after the personality test where you choose your partner) if you and your partner in this one are both humans that turned into Pokemon. It may just be to show you your choices, but it could be a veiled hint to it.

Neo, this is a PMD game. Of course there will be feels at the end. And, of course, we will all huddle in a corner and cry for an hour after going through it.

As for the partner being a human too, I personally doubt it. It would be an interesting game mechanic, but its something usually seen in fan fictions rather than the actual games. From what the trailer looked like, you'll be making a lot of close friends kind of like GTI.

Chakramaster
08-03-2015, 07:41 AM
GTI spoiler: Well I remember in GTI they brought up the fact that there were more humans than just you that were brought to the world to try and help. Though you never met them and it didn't end well for them. I remember I really wanted them to delve into that a little deeper. It's just thoughts like that, that just go through my head when trying to think of what they could add to the game.

Though it's probably just gonna be the usual where you partner up with just a Pokemon. That and make friends with the school and everything you gotta join. I've even gone as far as to speculate that in this one you are just pulled into the deminsion by Hoopa or Giratina somehow, yet a relative of the character is there. Which again, sounds doubtful, but I love just speculating ideas for the game myself. Never really expect to get any right either. The surprise us what makes it even better. Which is another reason GTI wasn't as big for me. I listened to the entire soundtrack before I even played the game....but not this time.
