Hello and welcome to the new revival of contests here in Artist's Easel. I apologise in advance, but this first post will be quite a chunky info packed post as there is a lot to explain and get through.

First of all, lets explain the contests and how they will work

PXR's Best Drawn Artist competition/ PXR's Best Graphic Artist competition - Hosted by Corrupt_Voidlich

These competitions are very different to previous competitions here. Let me explain how they work

First, you will have two weeks to sign up. No longer than that. There is not a set amount, however, the contest's length and dynamics are heavily dependent on the number of contestants. I will get to that later.
Once the sign up period is over, we will begin. Depending on the number of contestants, the first week will go as follows: -Odd Number: The first week, one theme is chosen and you must complete what the theme asks you to do. -Even Number: There are two themes, each with a certain number of spaces so the number of contestants is split in half. You must sign up for these so it is best to be quick so you don't end up doing the one you dislike because everyone else signed up for the other one. There will be a sign up period of two days and any who have not signed up by then will be placed into the remaining theme.
The submission period then begins. HOWEVER, do not post any submissions in the thread. Another way of judging will take place. You submit the entrants through PM to the host. That may be me, or someone else who fits the role. The host, who may be a judge, as long as they have proven to be unbiased, will pass the entries anonymously to the other judges ready to be judged.
Judging will now take place. With this, the judges decide separately the marks without any outside influence. Please do not message the judges or have any communication with them to start a conversation that involves your entry at this time, you may be disqualified. When the judges are happy with the results, they are passed back to the host to total them up and find a winner. During this time, the judges and host also discuss next week's themes for the contestants.
Once the judging stage is over, the results are posted and the new theme/themes are added for sign ups.
The lowest scorer(s) from each theme of the week, will then leave the competition and the process restarts and continues until there are 4 people left.
Once there are four people left, they will be randomly paired with another person and a theme allocated to each pair. they then are directly in competition with each other. The judging period stays the same.
When the results are posted, the two winners are paired and the two losers and paired and it happens once more until that ends and we have a winner and our runners up.

PXR's Pixel Art Tournament- Hosted by Speed-X

This tournament is a little different to the previous two contests. Here are how they will work:

Only 8 people can sign up per run of the tournament
Once entered, there are two selection methods which will be decided once the tournament begins. There is the random pairing method and the skill pairing method. The skill pairing method will require a preliminary entry to test your ability.
A thread will be made for each pairing with a different prompt for each, however, they may all originate from the same technique, e.g. recolours, edit, scratching etc.
The entries will then be sent to a mediator. These may be edited as much as possible before the final entry date. They may not be posted anywhere on PXR until the round is over and the scores have been released.
The judges then have one week to judge. Once finished, they will be sent to the mediator who counts up the scores and the posts the final results.
If entries are posted on personal image sharing sites, the mediator is allowed to reupload it on an anonymous image sharing site so it stays anonymous.
Each participant will get weekly points which will all be collected into a final score to see who wins overall. For winning a pairing challenge, you gain 5 points and gain 1 for losing. Overall third place that week gains and extra 5 points, second will get and extra 10 and 1st will get 15.

All contests will have a month break between 'seasons'. They all may clash and run simultaneously at times, however.

Prizes

The contests will all have similar prizes as we wish for them to be rather universal here in Artist's Easel.
First off, this is what the general Prizes are.

All entrants get a "Participation" Token stating the contest you entered
If you place 1st, you will get and extra 1st place token
A chosen pokemon that will be voted for before the start of the contest will be given to all participants. [These may not be specials (IV, Hidden Ability), Shinies or Legendaries or events. They may be starters or other pokemon]
A chosen pokemon that will be voted for during the contest will be given to the top 4 placers [These may be any of the pokemon that qualify for the participation give away or may also be Legendaries. These may not be special pokemon, events or shinies]
The winners of each contest will get an Article on deviantArt and and Article on PXR.
The winner will get a special banner that they may use to show they placed first.

Also, there will be an introduction of a Prize Point system here in Artist's Easel. Visit the thread Here to see what is on offer. More things may be added in the future, so the listed pries are not the only things that will ever be available.

Entrants will receive these amounts of prize points:

All entrants that don't place receive 1 point
4th Place receives 2 points
3rd receives 3 points
2nd reveives 4 points
1st receives 5 points

An archive of points will be stored in the thread so you can check how many you have and you may use them up whenever you wish.
