Welcome to the prologue of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Cage of Eternity! I'll try to update on time as much as I can, but with school starting soon, no promises.
Anyways. This comic is my interperetation of how Gates to Infinity should've been.
There will be blood(violent comics will be in spoiler tags). There will be new characters. There will be old characters with actual names. There will be an entirely new plot at some point. There will be shading and backgrounds.
The last thing is probably the most shocking, if you know me.

By the way, Munna's name is Aisling.

This comic updates Mondays and Fridays.

If I have any people interested in this comic so far(not likely, but it might happen) here's a little announcement...
after the prologue is over, we're probably going to need some cameos. So here's the deal. You all get up to three characters you can cameo, or one rescue team. The characters must be Pokemon. No Fakemon, humans, or gijinkas allowed!
Now, Legendaries. In GtI, the game this comic is based off of, Legendary Pokemon seem to visit the town on an average basis. No one bats an eye at Virizion, Keldeo, and Victini wandering about. So I will allow the following Legendary Pokemon to appear as cameos:
Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mew, Mewtwo, Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Celebi, Latias, Latios, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Cresselia, Manaphy, Heatran, Shaymin, Victini, Cobalion, Terrakion, Meloetta, Genesect, Diancie, Hoopa.
Also, keep in mind. Legendaries, although there are multiples of each in my interperetation of the Pokemon universe, are still rare. So we are not going to have a town populated entirely by them, okay? Okay. Awesome.

Yeah, I know it's not Monday.
But guess what. I'm bored, and last update was late so consider this an 'I'm sorry'.
Also, this is our lovely protagonist.

I'm considering changing the update schedule to Sundays and Wednesdays, with Fridays when I have a lot of buffer and no reason to try and make it stretch. How does everyone feel about that?

I've decided that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Cage of Eternity will now update Sundays and Wednesdays, and on Fridays if I have 1-+ pages of buffer.
I think it's a much better update schedule for me.
By the way, quick question, I know we haven't gotten very far in at all. But does anyone have any predictions for where the comic will end up?
If I've told you something, don't post it here. No actual spoilers, please.

You've got a very colorful style here, very nice! It's funny, all the Gates to Infinity comics I read decide they're going to change things up a lot. Which is great, but it also makes me question the game even more X3

I might only recommend watching some of the text! I can barely read the white-on-grey text on the first page or the purple-on-blue in the 4th!

And on the lack of comments, you'll get less here. People are more silent readers (come on guys, we should all post more! X3)

Thanks~ And I'm mostly fine with the storyline of GtI. It's just that one or two game mechanics make things more difficult than necessary, and the afterstory is a bit lackluster. I'm mostly changing up things that happen later in the story to give everyone a bit more of a backstory, and a few other things.
Thank you for telling me about the text, I'll try to edit it in later comics so those characters have lines that are a bit more legible. And when I get on a computer where I can edit the original files I'll try to fix up those pages. ^^.
And yeah, for some reason most of the sites I frequent have lots of silent readers... Or maybe I'm just not big enough on those sites to attract the readers who comment frequently. Probably the latter.

'Bright colors' is the last compliment I ever expected. Seeing that in Kindergarten, my parents apparently had a conference with the teacher because I refused to color things? Not sure why that's important, but it's certainly ironic now...

Cool comic! :D I really like it so far. The style is great and BRIGHT COLOURS. I joke, I joke. But I don't. Because there ARE bright colours! xD

I love the expressions you put on the characters, first and foremost. They're great. :D And the cartoony look works well. I personally find it a bit odd that all of the characters' noses are white, though, when they're normally black. I don't know if that's a personal design choice you've made, though. :]

I didn't think that image was too big, by the way. It's smaller than the chapter one page. xD If you're wary that an image might be too big, though, you can put it in spoiler tags instead of linking it, like this:

Yeah I'm usually one of those people who will follow and not comment unless I feel something needed to be said. It's been pretty good so far. I know feedback is always good and welcome, but I feel the artist/writers should feel free to draw/write what they think works best.

The color style took a little getting used to for me (since I've been stuck on a small tablet for a good month now that kinda stretches the pictures a bit). The bright colors are awesome though once I did. Like Suicune's Fire said the cartoony look works really well. It'll be interesting to see the cameos and how they work with the story (if it's similar or even somewhat similar to the Gates to Infinity game). I know most people seem to like that one the least, but I still think it was good. Not perfect, but still good. This should still be an interesting read to watch though. So keep up the good work!

I don't think I'd be able to help and send in a cameo as I don't have any created characters for a story (written or drawn). Mainly cause I'm not artist. I could probably write, but never got around to it due to life or laziness lol.

Suicune's Fire, it wasn't that it was too tall, it was that I made the cover twice as wide as a normal page or cover so I could fit all the characters I wanted to onto it. Also the noses look white? O.O I was trying to make them look light pink, I'll try to darken the color a bit...
Chakramaster Well, the cameos have two purposes. First, background filler. I'm kind of lazy with background character designs, and I like having something mildly amusing happening in the background, so I ask for characters and a brief description of what they're like to have something going on in the background as well as the actual scene, to try and make crowd scenes a bit more interesting. Also there's the secret second thing I'm going to do with cameos...
But that's a secret and won't come up for quite a while.
Also yeah. I like GtI. It's just the gameplay is so broken in some areas you wouldn't normally notice otherwise, and it could do with a lot more filler. Otherwise the music is amazing, the graphics are fantastic, the characters are interesting. It's just the little things that make it all annoying to play, like how you can't change the text speed, and you can only take one job per mission...

I just seriously could NOT update yesterday. I can make all the excuses I want. I could go on about stuff I had to do and could not avoid. But you really aren't interested in that, so here's the short version: I got home and just crashed. I was barely awake enough to eat dinner and take a shower. Sorry.

This page is the last page before I take a brief hiatus. I'd like to get about 4-6 pages of buffer done before I start posting Chapter 2. To make this up to you guys, though, I'll be holding a Q&A! However, if spoilers are involved I will not answer that question, and if two questions are similar I'll try to meld the questions into one.

First, a little apology.
I continued updating this comic on other websites it was on, but didn't update it here. I apologize about that, I kind of started drifting away from this site.
Then shortly afterwards, I just kind of stopped updating the comic at all.
Right now, PMD: CoE is going on hiatus for a while while I work on a different project, in several aspects of the word. It's rather different from anything I've tried to create before.

Ohh, i love the cute style you’ve got going on here and I love that ‘you’ are a shiny Zorua! I feel bad for the poor little guy thinking this is all a dream though and becoming all sad at the possibility he may never see those from his ‘old life’ again. I was just about to cry myself just reading it, on top of Purloin seemingly having dealt with a similar situation of loss.

Maybe i missed this, but is this done in MS Paint? Also, I’ve never played the Mystery Dungeon games, are they kinda like this comic?

The protagonist(Audra) and I aren't very alike, though. If I was in this, I'd almost definitely be an Umbreon since that thing was practically built for my fighting style. As for Audra's fighting style... Well, you'll see. If/when I continue this.

This is done in Manga Studio 5. I've seen some really great comics done in Paint, but I'm really not willing to put in the effort to try and make something good in Paint. I like abusing the layer option too much.
This comic is based off of one of the PMD gamesm Gates to Infinity. Gates to Infinity is pretty much the most hated one. This comic follows it loosely, but I add in more characters and edit and expand on the backstories of lots of characters.

This comic's still on hiatus... I'm still not sure when it'll come back. I'd like to continue it, however I have some other projects going on at the moment. One I intend to put up here soon.

Some major announcements concerning all my comics.

First, I would like to thank everyone who follows Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Cage of Eternity for following, commenting, faving, or even just reading CoE. But I have something really big I need to tell you all.

I… am discontinuing Cage to Eternity the comic.

However, I am restarting it, now as a written fanfiction. I should be able to get update out slower than it was as a comic, but with a LOT more information and content.

This was a decision that I took several days to make. At some point, I realized I really wasn’t going to be continuing CoE as a comic ever. After a little while of trying to juggle both SL and PMDRR at once made me aware that I’m not the kind of person who can handle multiple regularly updating entirely digitally drawn comics at once. While all three are stories I desperately want to tell, I cannot tell all three at once in their original format.

So here’s the new thing. Cage of Eternity is restarted as a written fanfiction. It will update as I complete chapters. SL will be on hiatus until I complete CoE, and then I will release an announcement regarding my plans for it. PMDRR will be on hiatus until my life calms down a bit and I have a bit of buffer, and then will resume updating on Wednesdays again. I’m not sure when that will be.

This was a major decision for me, ending the hiatus and changing the format for CoE.

I want to continue PMDRR, but a nasty storm called Hurricane Senior Year has hit by me and is showering all sorts of unexpected stuff. So... I want to continue drawing it, but if worst comes to worst I'm a much faster writer.
