(This RP is rated E10+ for fantasy violence and frightening images)
The story:
In a fantastic Pokeworld, minstrel Brock of Argenta (the fantastic equivalent of Pewter City in this world) was summoned by the wizard Lysandre to retrieve the legendary Celestial Harp of Rainbows in return for some mystical items. But as Brock was on his way to the cave where the harp was hidden, Meloetta appeared to him to warn him that Lysandre wanted to use the harp to raise up an army of undead and ghost Pokemon, and destroy the world. Instead, she directed him to gather four other adventurers, assemble the eight jewel shards hidden in eight well guarded elemental labyrinths, and then use the powered up harp to defeat Lysandre before he can carry out his evil plot.
Brock was shaken by this news, and immediately returned to Argenta to ask any and all adventurers to help him on an adventure of a lifetime.
You play the role of one of the four adventurers that responded to Brock's plea for help--will you and Brock succeed in defeating Lysandre?

Your character's name: Shawn Michiles
Your character's age: 16
Your character's basic appearance: average size guy at 5'6'. Pale with nice looking brown hair and soft green eyes. He wears a green robe with leather shoes. Around his neck is a silver flame pendant that has the words "Inherited will" inscribed upon it. He always has his harp strung across his back along with his travelers bag.
Your character's class: Minstrel
Your character's known abilities: Song of fire, earth, wind and water
Your character's basic personality and known history: Shawn has lived in Argenta his entire life, and is finally ready to go out and see the world. He saw Brock's quest as a chance to experience more than his home life. Shawn a friendly guy who's overall pretty nice, but can be a little short sighted sometimes. He inherently believes things are meant to be good, and often has gotten into some tight situations because of it. His one true passion is music, and is always practicing it.
Your character's initial inventory: Harp, travelers bag which contains: 3 days of food and water for 1 person, some paper and pens, and a coil of rope.
XD when I first read the plot, I thought it said Argentina instead of Argenta.

Your character's name: Endentho Garret
Your character's age (anywhere from 13-17): 17
Your character's basic appearance: Long brown hair, thin frame, pale skin. He wears decent clothes and stands at 5"7'.
Your character's class (chosen from the list below): Rogue
Your character's known abilities (pick anywhere from two to four abilities from the Level 1 ability list): Steal Coins, Steal Item, On Alert, Heightened Senses.
Your character's basic personality and known history: He's a nice guy, but he's also an expert theif, so be wary if you befriend him. He also, unfortunately, is oblivious to when he's being used or hit on or anything, but he doesn't care, even when he finally figures it out, he won't do anything. Afterall, he probably already stole quite a bit from you. He doesn't share his past as he views information as power and doesn't wish to give anyone too much power.
Your character's initial inventory (what is your character currently carrying?): Excess amounts of money in a few coin pouches and a dagger in his shoe.

Alright, I edited my form to make my character a little more Fantasy like.
Which depends on your definition of fantasy...
EmeraldSky
02-16-2016, 05:19 PM
Morzone: By fantasy, I mean magic and dragons and knights--things of that nature (as this RP is supposed to honor both the 20th anniversary of Pokemon and the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda)
So after reviewing your form, you are now Accepted!
Two more slots are left!

I simply adore fantasy RPs, and now that this is mixed with Pokemon, why the hell wouldn't I sign up?! x) Oh, and Em, if I can call you that x3 can I suggest a couple more skills for Rogue?
Lightfoot - enables escaping from wild battles more easily (not 100%, but better chances of escaping)
Throw - increased damage from throwing coins, or any items (once used, not returnable; with the exception of certain items; shuriken/boomerang/etc)
Well, just some idea xD Anyways, I shall take the role of a FIGHTER!
Your character's name: Vaugnn D. Saul (Vahn D. Sah-ul)
Your character's age: 17 years old
Your character's basic appearance: Vaugn is a slim, yet muscular, slightly toned young man of average height with spiky blond hair, which is kept in strands jutting outwards in every direction, and a smaller, frontal cowlick (or tuft) of hair partially hanging over his forehead. He has slanted, slit pupiled, dark blue eyes; above the right one is a thin, diagonal scar. Sting's left ear is adorned with an earring which, in itself, is attached to by a prominent metal pendant that is crystalline in shape. A sabertooth(?) tattoo (white) is embossed on his left shoulder.
Your character's class: Fighter
Your character's known abilities:
- Meditate
- Calm Mind
- Golem Fist
- Crimson Fire Dance
Your character's basic personality and known history: Vaugn is usually calm and composed in most matters, and tries not to pick a fight over a trivial matter. But he takes friendship very seriously and believes whoever abandons their comrades are scum and will not hesitate to punish them. Vaugn can appear very arrogant at times, believing true power lies in strength alone, but he does believe sheer strength isn't enough to pull him through tough times. He knows nothing about his past, only the white colored sabertooth like tattoo embossed in his left shoulder. To find out about his past, he left his "hometown" and has traveled all around Argenta seeking some answers. When he returned from his journey, he received a note from Brock to join him on an epic quest to save Argenta. Will he find the true mystery revolving around his past by saving Argenta? Are there places he truly hasn't visited yet? Only time could tell...Only the quest itself could shed some light...This time round, he isn't alone to travel, he has...Friends!
Your character's initial inventory:
- A broken sword with a dragon-like hilt (which is merely a decorative item as he rarely uses it).
- Some Coins
- Some Wine; He's not a drinker, but when he does, he does "drunken martial arts" which gives him good evasion and speed, but lowers his defenses; lasts only a couple of posts. (I hope this is okay, Em, I mean you're the game mod, so you can decide how well or how crappy he does when we have fights xD) I may be going overboard with this, but here is the theme which plays once Vaugn takes in wine and goes to "drunken mode"...
Well, its been a while since I RP'd, so if any changes are to be made for my SU, let me know!
This rp has a very huge potential, I just can't wait to get started!! You have put in quite the work Em! Well done! =)
ALSO! If you'd like, I can do some banner for you to put @ first post. I can get some samples up for you in a day or two :3

Trainer17--Thank you--the abilities you suggested are upcoming Rogue abilities, actually.
The pictures and the video weren't needed (They would take up a lot of extra room in my notes), and Drunken Mankey style will be interesting to see when it is put in the random generator.
You won't just be seeing Argenta, but you will be seeing all the counterpart of Kanto
So for now, your signup is Pending--I only need the text of your signup for my notes, and so the pictures and videos will have to be removed so it fits in my notes.

Your character's name: Isaac Nash
Your character's age: 16
Your character's basic appearance: Slender, yet much smaller than someone his age normally.
Your character's class: Mage
Your character's known abilities: Thunder, Fire, Water, Aero
Your character's basic personality and known history: Usually he is able to keep his calm, but when he gets mad. Things can heat up for him. My question are as follows. Do we have a certain cap limit of how much our stat can be? (At max) And if our rerolls are worse do we get to keep the best? But I love my strength and resolve so far...my character could dish out major damage 8D

Those are on a scale of 1-20--unlike you guys, Brock's stats are fixed, meaning he will not level and gain stats like you guys.
Your stats will be able to go beyond 20 as you level.
Brock's stats, for your reference:
Strength: 33
Intelligence: 35
Wisdom: 36
Agility: 40
Resolve: 40
Luck: 40
Trainer17: Starting stats can be no higher than 20, Brock is fairly powerful, so his stats go beyond 20.
Max stats are 200
If your rerolls come out badly, you keep the best attempt.

hmm...stats look to be good....In fact the INT is near perfect for starting level. I just feel like I want to rerolls Luck and STR at least. Just in case lets reroll only LCK and STR twice and stick with the best. Even a 10 would be perfect (even though mages don't need STR....you never know).

The world of Mikawa ("three rivers" in one of the world's ancient languages) is a fantastic Pokemon world filled with both familiar locations and new ones, including counterparts of the main six regions. While the story mainly takes place in the realm of Kanduin (the counterpart of Kanto--it is pronounced "Cahn-doon"), the fairytale "The Legend of Jeran" (itself a uniquely Mikawan version of the Russian tale "Sivka-Burka", suggesting that people from Earth may have once visited Mikawa, although no evidence of this has been found) refers to the realm of Kalski, the counterpart of Kalos.
In Mikawa, the center of government, culture, knowledge, and the arts is a sprawling metropolis known simply as the Aiiro City (Indigo Plateau's counterpart in this world) From there, the six known regions sit around it:
--Kanduin (Kanto)
--Sondo (Johto)
--Fanyan (Houen)
--Sinoch (Shinou)
--Teselia (Unova)
--Kalski (Kalos)
There are other regions around the Aiiro City, but these have not been explored yet. It is possible that one of these areas could be an as of yet undiscovered counterpart of an unknown region in the actual Pokeworld
City and location counterparts (so far):
Vitiva=Pallet Town (the warrior-mage Ash, the ranger Serena, and Sage Oak live here)
Meralda= Viridan City (Gary, Sage Oak's grandson and the Keeper of the Earth Emblem, meets challengers here)
Glasa Forest= Viridian Forest (The Eight Colored Blade, a legendary sword common in many historical and fairy tales, is said to lie here)
Argenta=Pewter City (Brock was born here, and serves as its resident minstrel. His father, Flint, is the Keeper of the Boulder Emblem)
Serulin= Cerulean City (the Blue Dragon Knight Misty, herself the Keeper of the Cascade Emblem, was born here, and serves here with her sisters)
As you and Brock seek out the elemental labyrinths, you will make friends, earn allies, and do battle with the wizard Lysandre's minions as you venture across Mikawa.

As you and Brock seek out the elemental labyrinths, you will make friends, earn allies, and do battle with the wizard Lysandre's minions as they venture across Mikawa.
I'm in love with what you've got in store for the RP, Em :) Pretty much tells we're going to venture for a long time! I can't wait till we get our Poke-Minions :3 If that's part of the game xD

Human
The most common race in the world and one of the more diverse. They are typically friendly with other races, but are often left at the whims of them (particularly fairies and dwarves). While they do not have innate magic, they can learn with guidance from a mage or with a magical item.
Elf
These beautiful and strong guardians of the forests are stronger then their appearance belies. They generally keep to themselves, but have a long partnership and friendship with the humans, and a friendly rivalry with the dwarves. Gifted in archery, weaponmaking, magic and lore, some of the greatest minstrels and sages to ever walk Mikawa were elves.
Dwarf
The mountain folk, famed for their vast mines and forges. Even though they live underground, they still appear tan because of long hours in the forges. Dwarves are typically friendly to other races, but malevolent ones are not unheard of. If you befriend a dwarf, you have a friend for life.
Fairy
These tiny spirits of the elements are not often seen, but when they do appear, it is to bestow a magical power or a magical gift. Generally benevolent, but they will not hesitate to punish evil, selfishness, or the abuse of their gifts. They come in many different varieties, making for a very diverse race.
Aerimora
Popularly called "sea angels", this bird-like aquatic race keeps watch over Mikawa's waters. They consider Kyogre a goddess. They are often described as Swanna-ladies in folklore, and some of them can, in fact, turn into Swannas. If an Aerimora is spotted while at sea, it is a sign your voyage will go well.

Chakramaster: As I said at the outset, this is supposed to celebrate both anniversaries this year--the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda and the 20th anniversary of Pokemon--so I thought, "Why not create a Zelda-esque adventure in a fantastic Pokemon world?" While we will mainly be staying in the counterpart of Kanto, the door is open to other stories in the other regional counterparts.
Brock and Serena will explain how Heart Link works when we get to that point.

How combat will work:
A battle begins with the opponent(s) appearing (No more than four enemies at one time, although while guest characters are with us, there may be more than that) I will then display your HP bars as a series of ten dashes-each dash equals 10 HP, so you start with 100 HP at Level 1.
Brock will next analyze your foe using his Song of Seeing so you can plan a strategy, and sing the appropriate buff (Fight Song for physical opponents, Mystic Melody for magical opponents)
When you make an attack, post what you do (attack, use a skill, etc), then I will generate a random number from 1 to 100 to determine how successful you are--anything above 50 is a hit, and anything above 75 is a critical hit. You can also critically fail as well.
After all four of you make your move, the enemy will attack--they too can critically succeed and critically fail. If you are at 50% HP or below, you are in Danger. If you are at 25% or below, you are in Peril.
This keeps going until one side merges victorious--if you win, you get gold, experience, and treasure. But should the party ever be wiped, you will respawn in the closest safe location.
Leveling is fixed, like Paper Mario, so 100 XP is always the amount you need to level. When you do level, you will have the option of learning at least one new ability on a new tier, or one unlearned ability on the previous tier(s).

--Meloetta, the Guardian of Song, the three birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and the Beasts Raikou, Entei, and Suicune also make appearances.
--Marla is the most common name for a princess in Mikawa--if there is more than one princess, she is the youngest, unless the princess' names are supposed to have a theme (such as in "Three Kingdoms" variants) However, other names have also been used, such as Miki, Cherida, Tavia, Milana, and Raia.
--Resen is the cowardly knight counterpart in Mikara, often in the form of a noble, as he is here, or a knight.
--Satomi the Wise, an incarnation of the evening star renowned for her wisdom and magical skill. In many tales, she grants magical items or aid

Now that we've arrived in Vitiva, here are the profiles for Ash and Serena, who are joining you as guests:
Ash
Guest Character Profile: Ash
Age: 13
Height: 5'2
Build: Thin and muscular
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Known relationships(so far): Delia (mother, close and loving), Taran (father, close and loving), Serena (close friendship), Brock (friendship), Misty (respectful acquaintances)
Personality/Known History: Initially, Ash was set to follow his father Taran into the smithing trade, but the awakening of magical abilities changed all that. While initially struggling to control his new gift, he dutifully practiced and honed his skills and his swordplay until he graduated a full red mage--a warrior-mage that could wield both elemental and holy magic. He had innate abilities in both fire and lightning magic, thanks in no small part to Eira, his faithful Pikachu.
But the biggest surprise of all came when he made the journey to Glasa Forest with his childhood friend Serena--there he found he could easily draw and wield the Eight Color Blade. Together with Serena, the spellsinging minstrel Brock, and the water magic knight Misty, he set out on the journey of a lifetime.
Energetic and up for anything, Ash is prone to charging into the fray before considering what his opponent has--a flaw that has burned him more times that he wishes to admit. He also has a bit of a stubborn streak, and sometimes resents being told no. Despite this, his bravery and courage burn like a fire--and he will move heaven and earth for his friends and people he loves if he has to.
Strengths: his energy, enthusiasm, exploring, learning things, swordplay, discovering things, a good story, music (Brock is teaching him how to play the flute--he knows a few common songs at this time, plus he can spellsing a little), determination, playing with Eira
Weaknesses: acting before thinking, a little hotheaded, seeing his friends or Eira hurt, overestimating his abilities, getting lost, being told no, having to repeat himself
Current inventory:
--Fireshock (a mageblade with dual fire and lightning abilities)
--Map of Kanduin
--Lore books
--Potion ingredients
--Food for him, the party, and Eira
--Ancestral Flute (has a flame design painted on it and a red tassel on one end, with two flame points resembling Pikachu ears near the embouchure hole)
Starting abilities:
Tornado Blade (a basic spin attack)
Lightning Speed (speeds him and any allies up to twice as fast)
Healing Light (a basic healing spell that heals a little life)
War Cry (unleashes a mighty cry that strikes fear in foes and inspires allies)
Blinding Ashes--sprays a stream of embers at the foe, blinding and burning them. (its incantation: "Fire, whirl and dance around me, and destroy this foe before me!
Swanna Song (sings a beautiful melody that unleashes a powerful spell at the cost of all of Ash's strength, lowering his HP to 1)
Song of Lightning--(a variation on the Song of Light that allows the user to command lightning magic. like its parent spellsong, it too is invoked by Seios, higarima laisido...)
Charizard Call--summons Charizard to battle ("Dragon of fire which sleeps in the inferno
Let your roar burn my enemies to ash!
Let's fly, Charizard!)
Spell Breaker--Dispels evil magic ("Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water,
Break now the spell that has been cast upon this man/woman/child/Pokemon/(item type)!")
Serena:
Age: 13
Height: 5'1
Build: Athletic and muscular
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Known relationships(so far): Grace (mother, close and loving--father is away on a great journey), Ash (close friendship), Brock (friendship), Misty (close acquaintances)
Personality/Known History: Born to a mage mother and a knight father, Serena received the best of both worlds--but of all the weapons she learned to use, she gravitated towards the bow, and was admitted to the ranger's academy when she came of age, honing her bow technique and learning nature based magic.
But when she made the journey to Glasa Forest with her childhood friend Ash--she watched in awe as her friend easily drew and wielded the legendary Eight Color Blade. She swore that she'd follow her friend on his journey, unaware she was about to embark on the journey of a lifetime.
Friendly yet mindful of those that could deceive her, Serena is the main example of The Dev Team Thinks of Everything--whatever the team needs or wants, she has in the Bag of Plenty Grace gave her. Her training as a ranger gave her an immense knowhow of creatures both magical and mundane, but has trouble admitting she doesn't know all the answers. Despite this, she is very loyal to her friends, and will stick by them through thick and thin.
Strengths: her friendliness, creature and plant lore, not easily fooled, researching, exploring with Ash, strategizing, playing with her Fennekin, Kitsune
Weaknesses: extreme cold, con artists, Spinaraks, admitting she is wrong, not knowing an answer, seeing Ash or her friends hurt, screechy high notes
Current inventory:
--Gracidea Bow
--a copy of "The Flora and Fauna of Kanduin"
--Bag of Plenty
--Ember Pendant
Starting abilities:
Healing Balm (lays hands on target to heal mild wounds)
Keen Eye (an accuracy buff that allows her to hit any target, no matter how far away it is)
Sylvan Circle (generates a simple magical shield that will repel most basic attacks)
Guiding Light (generates a ball of light that leads the group to a desired place
Rainbow Bomb (heaves a pulsing magical ball that explodes in rainbow light on all foes)

Just wondering but is it possible if we can customize or create our own skills on the future? I'm already thinking of renaming the skills present at the moment and if you give us a limit on how many new moves we learn as we level or such, we could make up new ones and post here for your approval after which we equip them.
And proposing to label or indicate how strong the move is based on (small/medium/large)

Trainer17: It is possible to combine and build on existing skills to create something new, but creating new skills from scratch has only been done by a select few.
As you level, you are allowed a maximum of three skills at a time (one skill from the new tier and two from any existing tiers you haven't learned already.
I'm working on a master skill list, but it is huge, and will take some time to compile.

The lore of Mikawa is often filled with long, epic adventures filled with magic (often invoked by song), trickster tales, pour quoi tales and more, but like all folkloric traditions, some mythological characters in the real Pokeworld also appear in its fantasy counterpart, as well as having characters of its own.
In addition to Kitsune, the wily Delphox who also serves as an envoy to Arceus, Darkrai, the nightmare Pokemon, and Kanade the warrior priestess, here are some uniquely Mikawan characters:
--Tanooki, the crafty raccoon dog that serves as the trickster. Unlike Kitsune, whose tricks serve to help, Tanooki's tricks can either help or hurt

--Meloetta, the Guardian of Song, the three birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and the Beasts Raikou, Entei, and Suicune also make appearances.
--Marla is the most common name for a heroine in a tale, but other common names include Miki, Cherida, Tavia, or Raia
--Resen is the treacherous and cowardly knight counterpart in Mikara, often in the form of a noble or a knight
--Satomi the Wise, an incarnation of the evening star renowned for her wisdom and magical skill. In many tales, she grants magical items or aid, but some tales show someone trying to win her love.
Cultural notes:
Calling someone a demon is the ultimate expression of contempt in Mikawa, and usually reserved for the very worst of people.
"pure as Magearna" means "as white as a ghost" in Mikawa
If something was obtained at the cost of a person or Pokemon's life, it is said to "come with a blood price."
One recurring theme in Mikawan tales is that those we think as evil may actually be good, and those we think as good may not actually be good--in other words, people and things are not always what they seem to be.
Peeping toms and other purveyors of unwanted romantic overtures are called Toxicroaks in Mikawa.
"beyond thirty nine lands to the fortieth realm"--an unspecified location far away.
"Tell that to the Fletchlings"--I don't believe you.
The Diamond of Wishes is a legendary artifact said to grant all the holder's wishes. Whether or not it really exists is a matter of debate to Mikawan scholars, but the phrase "gone to seek the Diamond of Wishes" means to attempt an impossible task or a fool's errand.
Toran and Anika are common Growlithe and Meowth names in Mikawa, not unlike how a dog is named Fido and a cat is named Fluffy on Earth.
It is a custom at Mikawan weddings for the guests to give Berries to the bride's family, as a blessing for a fruitful union.
When someone in Mikawa goes to seek their fortune, they are said to go on a journey of fortune.
"The wedding festivities lasted for (x) months, at least, and every night of celebration was better than the night before." A common version of "And they all lived happily ever after" in Mikawa, especially in Argenta.

Trainer17; Chakramaster; Some skills do in fact, evolve and change their appearance, but the vast majority you must learn the next tier up.
An example of an evolving skill is the mid level earth spell Dancing Leaves. Over time, it evolves into Dancing Sakura, and then Dancing Roses. However, your basic elemental spells (Fire, Ice, Lightning, etc.) do not evolve

Chess in Mikawa is actually based more on Othello than the game of chess on Earth--the object of the game is to fill the entire board with your color orbs.
Up to four people can play (taking the colors of red, blue, yellow, and green in that order).
Unlike Othello, you only start with one piece in the corner and begin working downward (if you are player 1) Player 2, 3, and 4 can either work upward or from the sides
Once a player encounters a rival's pieces, the pieces surrounding the player's piece will turn to the player's color. Of course, your rivals can also turn your pieces to theirs. It is advantageous to move into an area surrounded by rival pieces, so you can get nine pieces in one go.
A player that runs out of pieces is out of the game, and the game continues until one person has taken over the entire board (which is larger than a typical chess board).
It is also possible to play with eight colors, but this is only done at large gatherings and tournaments.

Mikawan tales tell of heroes receiving a kind of spell known as a charge before going on their quest. Once a charge has been placed on someone, the target has to do the specific thing the caster requests, like it or not.
Unlike Heart Link, a charge is only temporary, and the marking of the caster disappears off the target's hand once they have fulfilled their charge. In fact, some scholars argue that Heart Link is the only known permanent charge
To cast a charge, the caster first says the charge incantation: "Obey the ancient pact of the ages and fulfill your duty…" Once the incantation is said, the user names what s/he wishes the target to do. A marking unique to every magic user then appears on the target's hand. Once the charge is fulfilled, the marking disappears and the spell is broken.
It is possible for a charge to cancel out another charge--if this happens, the new charge marking replaces the old charge marking, canceling the old charge.
A person can only have one charge put on them at a time--if someone tries to place more than one charge on the sane target, the second charge will cancel out the first charge. The caster can name multiple steps in a single charge, so most magic users prefer to do this if they have more than one thing that needs to be done.
What happens if someone resists a charge is not known.
