lol guess we'll need a rule standing on this one. Did Bulbasaur already win and a new one already need to be made before that chat even started? xD

lol no, it's all good. The last one went on for way longer ending up with like 4 winners? I guess if the ruling stands a new thread would just need to be made if the OP counts as the first post, which it should honestly. So Bulbasaur should be the winner here I'd say.

I dunno if the first post should count. Technically it's just starting the thread off. xD

I just thought it was discussed in a previous version as well. Oh well, it drags on!

Oh, well I can't remember the previous versions, so you may be right! But it seems a tad redundant if all we're gonna do is start a new thread anyway. xD
Our of curiosity, how long does it have to be before someone is declared a winner?

48 hours. Let's just say it's started now. I'm guessing people didn't notice Bulbasaur made a new one.

Yeah so I think even if it is, it should be changed to avoid that and prevent multiple threads from being made for it just because it wasn't seen at first.
48 hours since the last post.

I love how Tazz made a whole crazy RPG thing out of one of them. I have no clue how it all got started, but it was epic.
Ah, I hope that dude comes back sometime soon.

That one was a little hard to follow at times, but I was also less active then. Joining in mid game was pretty random too xD

Yeah, I had that issue too, and I goofed up a little in the beginning. But once you figured out how it all worked, it was just pure RPG insanity. XD

And now that I have more RP experience it's all good! Maybe worth a check if/once he returns.

Last I heard, he might be coming back a little later. Not too sure what he's been doing, but hopefully he's doing well.

I think he said he was going to mod some massive RPG on another site that took constant dedication to update and keep going or something that would take around a year to complete. Hopefully all is well there though.

I've only won once, so I've gotta play catch-up. I just get so easily distracted by other stuff.

It happens to us all. I mean, we do have lives outside this forum. This thread got buried again. Plus you got your Smod duties and probably still helping plan future events for the site or updates (dunno if your one of those involved in the new mod selection as I think that's just admin stuff if I remember right, but there's those discussions too).....too much to name really. So yeah, distractions! Plus I have ADD, so I can get distracted easily myself xD

Yeah, I've been pretty busy with event planning, and I'm pretty certain I'm going to have a part in the "Who Do We Mod Next Committee," which is super-hard because we had a whole slew of really awesome people (you included!) apply. So I wouldn't even know where to start with that.

Well it all comes as part of the mod life! Constantly trying to stay active and provide fresh exciting content for the site. Then when it comes to needing to make a big decision like who to mod next for sure takes a lot of dedication and discussion. It's a big responsibility to hand off. So that's totally understandable.

It's crazy, the event planning is both work and fun, if that makes sense. I'm just glad a lot of the other mods are okay and onboard with some of my more crazier ideas.

It totally makes sense. I used to do it on my old site NF, not GT, all the time trying to improve the RP or make my own RP mission to host. It's fun to create or banter back and forth ideas, but it's a chore to get in a nice working order. Even after some event is created, it's work enough keeping it run in a stable manner.

Brainstorming ideas is fun. Trying to work out all the kinks and mechanics is... more of a challenge. It's like...
"Hey, it would be great if we all would just sprout wings and fly!"
"Absolutely! But then... how would we drive cars, put on shirts, and sleep on our backs?"

Yeah, brainstorming can be fun as long as you can think of good ideas to banter back and forth between. It's can be pretty tough to finalize something big though. Most the time it's worth it all in the end. Especially if it works and goes off without a hitch.

It's VERY rare for something to go straight from beginning to end without goofing up somewhere along the way. And sometimes people are VERY smart when it comes to finding loopholes around the rules or the game system. It also helps to be quick and ready to improvise and tweak and "patch" the system. Heck, how many video games don't have dozens of patches after release?

That's very true. Even in RP's on a forum sometimes things get abused and someone starts getting to OP for others to even play with. Makes it unfair in a way. It's why there's always constant tweaks or patches going on over time yeah. So it's always good to keep up with those.

There was one guy I RPed with that liked to try and take the "fiction" out of "science fiction" and explain why certain things we did during the RP just wouldn't be possible (I remember one case we had of a Jupiter-sized planet having the life-sustainability of Earth, which is a pretty mild example to be honest). I tried to explain that it was just a fictional RP, but he constantly pressed these (I'm not a science major either, so a lot of the jargon and complicated principles he brought up in the discussion thread went over my head). So imagine how something like Star Wars would be immediately ruined if this kind of thing was used to challenge every event and sci-fi mechanic before it happened. It was a nightmare.
But yeah, some people will do just about anything to try and leverage an advantage out of it. And unfortunately, they don't care if that means spoiling the fun that other people are having... >.<
