Okay, as you requested, I've been trying Pokemon Art Academy and it's pretty cute and helpful, but I'd recommend getting your own music to play as you draw.

The basic lessons just involve tracing the heads of Pokemon starters, which is fine. I already did three of them (Pikachu, Oshawott, and Chespin) and it's a pretty easy-going start, I'd have to say. My only thing is I wished they introduced the zoom tool earlier. When they finally did, I was like YES!

But so far so good, I'll keep you updated.

I uhh...I tried drawing a Pikachu again today for the first time in years (well over 10) and uhh....yeah let's just say it's in thousands of pieces and trashed right now xD. Forgot to snap a picture and post it beforehand. I'll retry again soon though and post it here or the pairs thread cause Gemma wanted me to show her my "artistic skill" sometime. xD. I'm still hesitant cause everyone is going to laugh. I'm pretty confident I have the WORST drawing skills here on PXR xD

Yeah... I think I can give you a much better review.

The Zoom tool is introduced pretty early, don't fret too much about that one. They're just a little more on the slow side when it comes to introducing tools, but I really can't complain all that much. I'm definitely going to get deeper into it and I'll let you know how that works out.

Aw hell no, I don't have the patience to teach others. XD I'd be yelling at everyone because they couldn't draw a circle lol. Kidding. Actually I was debating whether or not to become a teacher, but that wouldn't work since I dislike kids. :p

I'm sure you'd be just fine teaching Gem. It takes a lot to deal with teaching kids. It's why the teachers that teach the younger students deserve a lot of respect dealing with all that and teaching them what they need to know all while helping them become the best they can be. Like a secondary parent helping them mature.

That's what I said to Xanthe. It's actually pretty hard to teach people something like drawing when you're not there in person. I mean Skype might be okay. I COULD START SKYPE TUTORIALS, OMG. IDEA FOR ARTISTS SECTION. People could post what they want help with and I could help over Skype/livestream and record the session for those who can't make it. YUSH. Actually, a livestream is probably better. You're awesome, Eric. Thanks for the idea. xD

The pen tool in Paint Tool SAI lets you cheat with that. It lets you adjust line segment points and remove the ones you don't need so all the wobbles are gone. That helps so much with line art.

Hmm well shading can be tricky for a lot of people - even I screw up here and there! But generally once you've figured out a light source, as long as you stick to it your work will turn out okay. If you're stuck for what looks right, I suggest grabbing a similarly shaped object and throw a light against it in the direction you want. That'll help! c:

Maybe it's a combination of me trying to draw too slow and too small. I'd LOVE to see a "How to Draw Pikachu" segment! =D You're just too awesome Gemma! Thing is, when I try to draw faster I end up making more mistakes. That or it doesn't end up where I need to line to go. Maybe it's just I gotta see first-hand what you mean by it through the livestream.

Yeah, I tend to draw lines pretty slowly as well, as if I'm performing surgery or something. That bike-riding analogy is a pretty good one, I'll try to draw the lines a little faster to see if that improves things.

In other news, I did finish PMD: Gates to Infinity the other day. Good game, glad I finished it all the way through, but I'm not going to bother with the meta-game stuff. I'm just moving on straight to PSMD.

I'm also thinking of going with whatever starter the personality test gives me, just to keep it interesting. Playing as Pikachu is always fun, but I have yet to play a PMD game where I've played as a different Pokemon. If something besides Pikachu comes up, I'll give it an honest shot for a change of pace.

GTI was pretty good. Some parts felt a bit drawn out, but there were some plot twists I really wasn't expecting.


- Wasn't expecting Munna to be an antagonist and Hydregion to be the good guy.
- Wasn't expecting Keldeo to be the Entercard creator.
- Wasn't expecting those lights in the sky to be other humans that were defeated as Pokemon

I find it interesting that there are common, reoccurring themes across all of the Mystery Dungeon games, such as humans becoming bright light upon being returned to the human world. When I thought of that whole PMD: Striders of the Stars idea, I kind of wanted to do something that united all the games together with common themes. But it... got a little too complicated with too much stuff to handle.

If I were to try and resurrect that idea, I think I would keep it in a much smaller frame and instead just take the role of permanent dungeon master that decided all the outcomes and events. Generally, people would keep using their same characters again and again for each world they visit, along with all of the relics and things they earn along the way. In the meantime, all the participants would all be in one guild rather than have it divided into several. I just feel it would make more sense.

I thought I could get by that part and have my own character, but it's just not possible. That's at least one major change I know would need to be considered.

Then, the difficulty and length can be increased until we hit that sweet spot where people get things done relatively on time.

It's always fun to have characters gain levels and progress, but it's a lot of calculation work (and this is why I RP instead of jump in on the competitive battling scene or join stuff like the URPG). But, on the flip side, if characters don't really progress, gain levels, or advance, eh, there's nothing really much to it.

I don't know, I think we're just better off with regular PMD RPs, and if someone wants to reuse their character, I think that's fine.

I mean I've never played D&D so I can't say I know the rules or anything, but I have a general idea about it. I hate to say it, but maybe it needs to have forced story development then. The difficulty should then be around the sum of the highest and lowest leveled players to avoid being too low leveled or too high leveled. Accommodations I guess?

I mentioned this part to you in that PM, but maybe have it set where each mission/adventure has an estimated time limit. Later on maybe they can be broken into sections so your not all sitting there for hours doing one mission. It'd in sense be like old movies with an "Intermission" in between parts. It'd help fix timing issues. Also could help keep tensions on what will happen next. Also having more than one GM/DM would almost be a necessity.

It may need its OWN unique battle system and exp handouts to accommodate this then. That way your not going by some other RPs system which may be more complex than you could stand to handle on the calculations. It also makes the RP unique to have its own complete battle/exp system. Same goes for stat handouts.

It honestly doesn't HAVE to be some super complex D&D style RP either. Maybe if anything you could make it like I thought of making a fanfic once. A player based driven story (I'm talking about the one I mentioned to you in the PM). I originally thought of making it an RP so the characters could be whatever they wanted. It'd also add a much deeper story. If someone played as the someone in the villianous team, how would that go? How would "the good guys" combat that? Making a very complex system would take a lot of dedication and more than just one person running it, that's for sure.

Honestly, Neo, with GTI there isn't much metagame stuff anyway. Not worth bothering. xD Besides, PSMD is way better. I did that! With the test. Although I MAY have done it repeatedly until I got Froakie. :p It always wants to me to start as either Chikorita or Bulbasaur, but I'm just not a fan of grass types. Unless it's Treecko. Cx

I just don't understand what's so hard for them to know we want genders in the game. If a game is meant to be in terms YOU in the story. You can't NOT have genders in the game. I mean in GTI everyone was forced to be male. Watch, next game everyone is gonna be forced to be female xD.

All my old stuff was on a laptop that had its hard drive wiped. What I did was pretty cheesy, basically taking background screenshots of stuff like Matrix code or something like that, dump a few words on top, and that ended up being the banner. The stuff I have on the hard drive of this computer, even the stuff that's over six or so years old, really isn't all that bad, but what I make now is many times better.

Oh yeah, I used to have no idea how to use signatures either, which was even more amusing. When I think about what I used to do to get around that (insert an image at the bottom of every post followed by a quote), I just laugh at myself and my newbie blunders.

Thanks lol. Yeah I had to download brushes at first. Not all really worked well, but I worked with what I had for years. As you can probably see in some of those I forgot to erase some parts of the brush effects off of the render itself. I always forgot the actually save the actual Photoshop file in case I made errors. I always made those in one go (though I do have Em's file still saved so I DID learn my lesson xD). Also to note: I did take lightning effect brush and shorten it down to make those Pikachu's spark effects....I couldn't get one to match right in color so I had to angle one up to avoid blending in with Pikachu's color

It's odd, while video processes are not "bad" some reason step-by-step guides are a bit easier to follow if it's just "do this" or "do that." If it involves cutting certain areas in a certain way or etc yeah videos are perfect. I'll check it out later though Neo, thanks!

Some very silly people are very anti-brush for some reason, which to me, is like complaining that someone used a hammer and nails to build a house. To me, brushes have always been tools, and relying on them alone doesn't even create something very good (hammer and nails don't do anything on their own, you need the wood, know-how, and be aware of good implementation practices to really make them work to their full potential).

But yeah, let me know if that video helps.

Try since I was five. :p Although I didn't draw as much as I do now back then, and I kinda sucked ahaha. No. xD I mean THINK of text as an image (of course you're still gonna create it with the text tool lol). You can sorta see where I place the eyes / nose / mouth in relation to it. Helps especially when drawing in perspective, and then you can even add in more facial lines too, to help out with that.

Yeah, my family has had hamsters and with them came some not so great experiences. I don't think I'd want to take another gamble with them again.

Thanks Neo. Yeah it was really sad how she passed on too. I'll hide it so you don't have to read in in case you don't.ile to gear/see this kind of stuff. She started eating way less or being less playful and active. We started getting more concerned by like the 4th or 5th day. She didn't really even seem to want to drink any water and was always wanting to hide. So when we found her that day we noticed she op had an odd smell to her breath. It had a smell of like a decaying flesh (very foul smell). So my mom ended up checking her mouth as best as she could and she saw some bumps. We took her to the emergency clinic for an emergency check up. The ended up giving us something to try and give her until they could get her in for surgery one day. It only took 2 days, but still she got in fast. The day of we were kind of excited to get her fixed cause the surgeon took a look and thought it would be simple just to cut it off, but when he got her hooked up and the IV keeping her asleep he was able to look even deeper. These bumps and places she had stretched way deeper. Not just in her mouth, but in her throat and possibly even further down. She had the worst possible case of throat cancer. So he called us without doing the surgery and told us the news that they were just going to "put her to sleep" because it was too severe. Sad thing is, is she was only around 5 or 6 years old. Pretty young for a cat.. All that was over last summer before we were scheduled to leave town on a 2 week long trip.

Thing is, there are SO many ways of getting Pikachu points now. Just as a preview:

WINNING AS A PIKACHU

If you're going for the second victory condition and the Naughtiest Pikachu token (isn't it so shiny and cool!? You know you want it!), you need to rack up as many Pikachu Points as you can, which are earned by turning humans into Pikachus! Doing any of these fun and highly encouraged activities will add a Pikachu Point to your total:

You show the world how much of a charismatic role model you are and obtain the Pika Flu Tactical Nuke! The three Pikachus you make with it count to your Pikachu Point total! Yes, you get a Pikachu Point for turning yourself into a Pikachu!
Someone became a Pikachu because you put Slow Action Pika Flu on them through any number of fun and colorful methods. And yes, if you use it on yourself and that's what causes you to become a Pikachu, that counts as a Pikachu Point!
You use the Spear of Revenge as a human, target yourself, and the Pikachu Roll hits you!
Someone got hit with the Pikachu Roll and you were responsible for adding more Chance Numbers to their name! Such a model Chu colony citizen you are! If two Pikachus both put Chance Numbers on the same person and that person gets hit by the Pikachu Roll, they both get a Pikachu Point!
You whack an unprotected human with the Big Papa Raichu Volt Tackle Hammer! Aww, they're so cute, yellow, and fuzzy now! You also get a Pikachu Point if you trigger someone's Avenger Guard with it and cause another fun Pikachu Roll to land on someone! (note that you can't earn two Pikachu Points for one person in the case where you also put extra Chance Numbers on them and that particular Pikachu Roll hits them)
Your Challenge Trap springs on an unsuspecting human! Yell "surprise" and throw some confetti into the air!

If you become a human through Blessed Cure, your Pikachu Points get reset to zero! So as a tip, it's a good idea to decide how you want to win early on! You can, however, still earn a Pikachu Point in the rare occasion that you gave someone Slow Action Pika Flu as a human and became a Pikachu before time ran out for them!

So getting the nuke does help nicely, but a person who gets the Big Papa Raichu Volt Tackle hammer stands a pretty good chance at ranking up a bunch of points as well. Getting a bunch of Volt Tackle Hammers can rack up a lot more points than even getting the nuke.

I'm not going to nerf the nuke, but I'm thinking it's going to involve getting the answers to 7 questions right at once rather than 5. So it's a lot trickier to get (especially because now, you get a token just for getting the nuke).

Thing is, there are SO many ways of getting Pikachu points now. Just as a preview:

WINNING AS A PIKACHU

If you're going for the second victory condition and the Naughtiest Pikachu token (isn't it so shiny and cool!? You know you want it!), you need to rack up as many Pikachu Points as you can, which are earned by turning humans into Pikachus! Doing any of these fun and highly encouraged activities will add a Pikachu Point to your total:

You show the world how much of a charismatic role model you are and obtain the Pika Flu Tactical Nuke! The three Pikachus you make with it count to your Pikachu Point total! Yes, you get a Pikachu Point for turning yourself into a Pikachu!
Someone became a Pikachu because you put Slow Action Pika Flu on them through any number of fun and colorful methods. And yes, if you use it on yourself and that's what causes you to become a Pikachu, that counts as a Pikachu Point!
You use the Spear of Revenge as a human, target yourself, and the Pikachu Roll hits you!
Someone got hit with the Pikachu Roll and you were responsible for adding more Chance Numbers to their name! Such a model Chu colony citizen you are! If two Pikachus both put Chance Numbers on the same person and that person gets hit by the Pikachu Roll, they both get a Pikachu Point!
You whack an unprotected human with the Big Papa Raichu Volt Tackle Hammer! Aww, they're so cute, yellow, and fuzzy now! You also get a Pikachu Point if you trigger someone's Avenger Guard with it and cause another fun Pikachu Roll to land on someone! (note that you can't earn two Pikachu Points for one person in the case where you also put extra Chance Numbers on them and that particular Pikachu Roll hits them)
Your Challenge Trap springs on an unsuspecting human! Yell "surprise" and throw some confetti into the air!

If you become a human through Blessed Cure, your Pikachu Points get reset to zero! So as a tip, it's a good idea to decide how you want to win early on! You can, however, still earn a Pikachu Point in the rare occasion that you gave someone Slow Action Pika Flu as a human and became a Pikachu before time ran out for them!

So getting the nuke does help nicely, but a person who gets the Big Papa Raichu Volt Tackle hammer stands a pretty good chance at ranking up a bunch of points as well. Getting a bunch of Volt Tackle Hammers can rack up a lot more points than even getting the nuke.

I'm not going to nerf the nuke, but I'm thinking it's going to involve getting the answers to 7 questions right at once rather than 5. So it's a lot trickier to get (especially because now, you get a token just for getting the nuke).

Ah, yeah it just made me wonder if it was based off a point system or by each Pikachu YOU create. I guess it means if we want the badge we have to be ready from the start. I was widening if points reset if you get the cure. Guess I'll leave it to fate in the end. Cause I sure would LOVE that Pikachu badge. o^_^o

Oh yeah, I could have done something like that. I think that was really the only thing missing from the whole day, because I think there were a bunch of people that would have enjoyed some kind of game, puzzle, or interactive element to it. Just set it up a few minutes ago and so far nothing to complain about. Startup time was less than 7 seconds. Just installing stuff to test out speeds and FPS now along with getting it secured with virus protections. Thanks Neo! Let's hope so! Plus it helps me speed search for answers to the PSG now =D and any mod duties that may need to be done can be done way easier.

80s games... I'll be honest, you didn't miss too much. Genesis/Super Nintendo definitely had a lot more memorable gems, but there were still good ones for both generations.

I'm trying to remember which game I dumped the most hours into. There were quite a few of them, but one of the games I remember the most from childhood was Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Holy crap, what an awesome game that one was.

I also tried to get others to play Mario Strikers: Charged, but that game gets pretty brutal very quickly. If it weren't for the extreme difficulty, that game would have rocked.
