This game is here to replace the gender race. So how does it work?

If your user name starts with letter A - M you subtract from the total. If your name starts with a letter N - Z you add one.

The count starts at 500. AMs will subtract one while NZs will add one, like so:

OP: 500
NZ: 501
AM: 500
AM: 499

etc. The NZ Names win when the count reaches 1,000 and the AM names win when the count reaches 0.
