In regards to your taste in music, do you predominantly listen to female singers or male singers? Or neither?

I find that I listen to female singers mostly. I would say that about 95% of the music I listen to (with singers/that aren't instrumentals) have female singers. I think I can naturally relate to female voices more, or they appeal to me more, for one reason or another.

How about you?!

Most of what I listen to is Gothic/symphonic rock and metal and I just prefer female voices in them, so I'm very used to it. So like you, probably 95% of the stuff I listen to have female voices, too. =P

Not to say that I dislike male voices. Although I do dislike the ones in Lacuna Coil and Amaranthe. I'd probably listen to them more if they didn't have those guys. I like Marco Hietala, though.

That's awesome. x) I find that there are many female singers in gothic/symphonic metal bands. Especially if there's an operatic element to their style. It's awesome. c:

Oh, same. Some are great! I love (older) Killswitch Engage; Howard's voice is amazing. Haha yeah, I do listen to some Lacuna Coil, but overall I don't like them as much as other bands. probably because they're not Dutch

Most of the songs I like are sung by males. I dunno why. I never really liked music much growing up until I heard the song Fix You by Coldplay. Coldplay became my fave band and I also really like Mumford and Sons, The Killers and Passenger, who all happen to be male. xD

I mainly listen to hard rock bands with a predominantly male voice. If I ever listen to female singers it's usually when I stray away from the genre, such as into punk rock or metal.

I like Nightwish, Epica, Sabaton, Black Majesty, and DragonForce, and out of that batch, it's a mix of both male and female lead vocals, so I'm fine with it either way. Hey, as long as they sound great and do a good job, I'm not complaining.

Most of the bands and soloists I listen to have female vocalists frontlining the show or are solo female acts. I do not think it's a genre thing, because it's stupid to assume that you have to have a certain reproductive organ to sing something.

I don't think I regularly listen to any songs sung by men. I saw this on my phone and thought about it before I logged in on my computer, but I still have no answer! I'm not quite sure why, but I just like the female voice better when it comes to music. I pretty much listen to pop exclusively, and I think the female voice better fits my taste in pop.

I mostly listen to male vocalists, but I prefer female vocals, I think. :D

I would say that I listen to male vocalists more often than female, but I listen to female vocalists quite a bit too. I picked 50/50, but 60/40 would probably be more accurate.

That's actually a really interesting question! :o I've thought about this before one time. I think I usually prefer male vocals...at least in most cases. I'm not 100% sure why, I guess they just are more fitting for the kind of music I like. Plus I want to say that a majority of popular songs are male vocalists vs. female vocalists...but I could be wrong. Just an observation, though.

If a song has female vocals, though, I don't complain. I guess it's more like, I don't really PREFER one or the other, I'm just USED TO one more than the other. Coincidence, I guess. xD

I guess I need to go rediscover myself, seeing as I listen to males mainly...
