Each day I'll post something art related to this here thread! It can be anything from digital art, traditional art, photography, abstract designs, you name it. If it's art, it'll be featured here. And it doesn't have to be Pokemon related! But what does this have to do with me? you ask.

Well after I post said artwork, feel free to comment on it, give it a rating, or if you think there's something the artist could have improved upon, post a critique! It's totally up to you! Sometimes, if you're lucky, you may even see your own artwork featured here. :D Take that as inspiration to whip up something awesome!

If you've found some kind of epic artwork and think "ooh, I just want to share this with the world!" then don't be afraid to send me a VM or PM and it'll probably by featured here less work for me.

Shiny Umbreon! Isn't it so adorable?! :D What I love most about this work is the painterly style the artist uses (which I can't seem to replicate no matter how hard I try). It really enhances the cuteness overall piece - like a book illustration! I think my favourite aspect would be the blue rings on the Umbreon, and how they just seem to shimmer and sparkle in the moonlight. It's really uplifting! And since I love pastel colours, that's a bonus in my eyes.

Ahahaha! xD This and Speedy's Joe avatar are my favorite ones. The smile on its face (which was like that from the start) and the way it holds its hand to its chin like that--it just miraculously ended up so perfectly.

Aaaaaaaand I didn't get the time to update this yesterday. D; SO. We will have two pieces of art today!


Number one, by Fate's request, is my new banner that I so diligently took TWO HOURS to make. What's different about it? Well, it's completely Dittofied! >u< I've replaced both the eyes and mouths of all Pokemon to relate to that of a Ditto. Whatcha all think?

Ignoring the fact Miku is in the piece We should all remember that even though there's an epic world online, it's just as important to get outside and make the most out of your day! The vibrant colours add a peaceful atmosphere and almost remind you of Spring... Thoughts?

Welcome to a new day! :D Today I'm featuring the artwork from our lovely Pokemon Trainer Sarah! For those of you who don't know, Sarah is in love with Bulbasaur. So no one else has a chance. :p

Click the spoiler tag to view the images! Sarah's pieces are lovely. With the subtle, washed out hues, she's captured something akin to a dreamscape. This mood makes the sleeping Bulbasaur and Ivysaur seem quite peaceful, and I almost wish I was sleeping with them. .u. Her sketchy, haze-like style is adorable, and I sure hope we get to see more of it!

Ahahaha yeah, it took me OVER TWO HOURS. T^T I cannot state how dead my eyes were after I finished that. But it was kinda fun. After I told Eric I was only going to do the Pikachu he mentioned something about thinking I'd do the whole thing. And then...I took it as a challenge. xD So that happened.

So what's in store for today? Good question! Since many of you don't seem to visit the comics section, today we have some lovely artwork drawn by Liokora! She's in charge of her comic Pokemon Alpha, which follows the story of two trainers named Sam and Nielle.

Is it awesome? Yup, it sure is! I urge anyone who hasn't read Pokemon Alpha to go and check it out here. (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?164-Pok%E9mon-Alpha) One of her pages can be found below, for an example. How awesome is she at drawing battles?!

Oh, look! Purplekec--I mean, glitchedpuppet! c; I thought she didn't do Pokemon stuff anymore. Her work with colors is amazing. Have you seen her old color theory tutorial she made in Flash? It's very eye-opening.
(yes I'm going to say she because despite the whole gender identity crap I still see PK as a she, w/e)


And what I thought was really hilarious about Sarah's GCeA Bulbasaur + Ivysaur piece was the critique it got.

There are spots around the edges of the Ivysaur where the paper color shows through, particularly in the blue above it.
Uhh, lolwut? That's a chalky style. OF COURSE PARTS ARE GOING TO BLEED THROUGH SLIGHTLY, IT'S A STYLISTIC CHOICE >_>

Sorry, I just dislike critiques that don't really take the best interest of the artist in mind or stylistic choices. Like, I get that "IT'S MY STYLE!!! D:<" is not a valid excuse for effed up quality and anatomy, but the majority of the time when you're writing a critique...you need to use your best judgment to try to understand what the original artist was going for and try to work with that. Or you know, if you don't like the stylistic choices just say so...but acknowledge that your stylistic tastes may be different than the other person's...but simultaneously, when it comes to an objective review, don't let such a thing get in the way. I don't know.

Sorry, I guess I'm being way too hard on Mike, but. Ugh. Pet peeve.

Same, same! I think a lot of it has to do with that scandal she was accused of over a year ago. I think she got a lot of backlash and instead of giving up, she changed her name and chose not to do Pokemon stuff anymore. I guess people don't want to see her name by her art and think, "Oh, it's PK" anymore. I dunno, I'm sure there were just a lot of personal issues. She's got a bunch of stupid SJWs against her for...whatever reason. It probably is similar to the crap that happened with zamii. I'm glad that zamii scandal got SO much coverage and recognition, btw. That was so stupid. Poor zamii. Jfc. People.

And no, I personally don't think it's bad xD Many other people do but I'll tell them to go suck it. 99% of the time if I have someone that I've known before their gender shift, I'll call them by their previous pronouns because, first of all, it's more familiar. Secondly, it just feels odd not to. Third, I guess old habits die hard. Nonetheless, I CAN'T STAND PEOPLE who get SO bent up out of shape about that. I don't think PK/GP is one of those people that gets bent out of shape about personal pronouns, but her fans seem to. >_> It's like, "who cares what pronoun I call you? Chances are I'm using your name in the same paragraph therefore everyone freaking knows who I'm referring to, correct pronoun or not. I mean for god's sake, the fact that some people mistake me for being a guy online never bothers me. Ever. It's like, lolwhatever they'll find out at some point. And then I get the rare person that is like, "I never thought you were a girl." xD It's like...come on, guys. QUIT TAKING EVERYTHING SO PERSONALLY.

Today's artwork is from another new forum member, ESPER! She does arty stuffs sometimes, such as this awesome Victini featured below that can be found in the XAT Pokedex (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?9419-The-XAT-Pokedex!&p=199617&viewfull=1#post199617) thread! I love the colours used; Victini seems bubbly and full of life, never mind that the horrid XAT program was used to create this. ESPER seems to have done an awesome job overcoming it!

Since I'm without a tablet here at work, I used a mouse last week to draw a Mawile for the XAT Dex. IT TOOK ME SO FLIPPIN' LONG. T^T Glad I'm not the only one who spends time on these!

Yay, it's that time again! Today I've got another comic for you. This time I'm featuring Nekomata's Rising Shadows which you can find here (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?157-Rising-Shadows) if you'd like to give it a read. c: Rising Shadows follows a young Flareon named Naya as she travels to regain her memory which has been wiped clean due to an unfortunate incident. It's quite humourous, and I'd definitely recommend it!

How hard is it to draw a Pokemon off the top of your head? Have YOU memorised the details of every one of them? That's why the game "Draw the Pokemon Above Without a Reference" is so hilarious! Occasionally though, we have some pretty good ones! Take Daughter of Mew's Flaaffy, for example. Pretty darn close to the original! Well done, DoM. c:

This little guy is absolutely adorable! >u< Kinda just wanna pinch its cheeks. The colour palette used really brings forth Sylveon's cuteness, and it just pops. Well done, Sou! Looking forward to seeing more sprites from you.

Neko's favourite aspects are colouring and lighting, and that sure shows in these epic tokens. Time to showcase some art from the Spriter's Sanctuary. Are you into projects? Do you like to do fun recolours, or pixel overs, with sprites? Then look no further! Our friendly SMod Sans has been working on a fun project called Neon Sprites! (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?9306-The-Neon-Lights-Sprite-Project!) You get to take your favourite lovable Pokemon and turn them into AWESOME neon outlines! Not sure how to do it? No worries! She's even prepared a helpful tutorial that anyone can follow.

How cool is it? Pretty cool. And if you're looking to take it a step further (because it's not challenging enough for you sprite masters!), why not see if you can animate a glow effect?

You know he writes, you know he creates RPs, but did you know our favourite forum Emolga can also DRAW? O: That's right! Neo Emolga has a gallery of his very own located here. (http://www.pokemoncrossroads.com/forum/showthread.php?9815-Neo-Emolga-s-Treehouse-of-Art) What kinda stuff does he draw? Hmm, well it used to be a lot of Pikachu. Now, it's a lot of Emolga! :p But Neo also dabbles in graphic design making beautiful avatars and banners for all (LITERALLY all if you count the Electric Rodent Regime and the Pikachu Survivor Game).

Want to see a sample of his work? Okay! Have a friendly Emolga who got caught up in a food fight. No one said his art wasn't interesting!

Today I've got some interesting mood boards for you! What's a mood board? Well, essentially, a mood board is something to get the ideas flowing from your brain and onto a page! (I know my Uni really loved to emphasise mood boards for this fact .n.)

Usually they consist of a bunch of images that relate to a certain idea, or theme. Forum member ninjaskarmory has been doing just this! She's made a number of mood boards based on Pokemon requests from others. I really need to re-title this "The Daily Days I'm Active Art Showcase". XD

I'm sharing something different today. While looking on dA for various things, I came across this map design in my feed. And WOW IS THIS THING AMAZING. Since I was planning to redo an old map of mine for a fanfic, this is really such an inspiration to me. Just looking at it you can see all the little bits and pieces that went into the design. The text blends well with the image, too, but still stands out so you can read it. I'm...still lost in the details. xD You can view the full size here.
