Do you build your own games and want to show them off to PXR? Got things to help other game builders out? Would you want a board to discuss game making and sharing of resources for programs like RPG Maker (in all its forms), Zelda Classic, and Super Mario Bros. X? Cast your vote and let us know!

Keep in mind this is only an interest check, and that no new board is in the works just yet. If the poll comes out favorable, we may move forward with adding a game development board.

If you would like to elaborate on why you voted as you did, you are welcome to post here.

I know I used to make a rpgmaker vx ace game quite a while back. But this would need a solid team if you're talking about developing one. A good member base. But if we've got a hall of fame for completed ones(for starters not a whole new sub forum for now), it'd be nice as well :) why not? Just my 2 cents for now

I don't think we have enough call for this to justify a whole new board. Why not just start a game thread in the Media Hall where any member can join and share what they're working on? Like a group project! If that gets enough interest, then you could consider adding another sub-board.

Pretty much what Lunar said. A single thread for game devolment would be OK, but there doesn't seem much point in having a whole subforum for it.

I think most of the community here (self included) is more into art and writing. Game development is quite a big and complex process and I don't think we have anyone here that is really big into coding and programming (if we do, I've never known about it). So, I had to say no on this one. If there's no one with the knowledge of how to do coding, it can't really become a game. Heck, personally, the most I've ever done is create stuff using Starcraft's map editor and program a calculator in VB.net, but that is as far as it goes.

Game Developer was also a board that existed on PE2K, but it never really did well or produced any completed games (we didn't even get to the point of having demos or "pre-alpha" releases). We didn't get anything like a Flash game either. So, I wouldn't recommend making a game development board unless an inner group of programmers, designers, and developers comes along and decides they really have the passion to make something and the threads they make become too many for them to continue remaining in an already existing board.

But yeah, I agree with Gemma. If you want to try and drawn in a crowd of people to do it, maybe start with a single thread first and see how it goes.

If there was expressed interest in this department, then sure! As it is, I've not heard of many people interested or invested in game dev on PXR. I would happily have shared my games in 2014/2015 when I was doing my game design course, but yeah...probably won't be making any more now that it's ended.

Buuut a thread sounds cool! c: If the first post gets updated with resources that people post, and the second post has games available for download (or a link to the post, even) or vice versa, that'd be cool. c:

Personally I wouldn't be interested since I have no expertise whatsoever but it wouldn't hurt to try. I'm sure there are some programmers out there who perhaps want to or already makes ROM hacks, et cetera.

I would love this! I've been working on an MMORPG for a bit now, just to test my skills in Java. This reminds me that I should make a thread for it. :D

Since the poll indicates uncertainty of interest, what we will most likely do is make a thread for it, and if it gets enough interest, we may expand it into a board
