Constrained writing is where you place certain restrictions on your writing. For example, you might choose to write a monosyllabic piece, where every single word has to be only a single syllable. Or a lipogram, where a certain letter can never be used.
Any of you guys ever do this? Which ones? Or maybe you hate it and prefer writing freely.
I do a fair number of these. I did a lipogram once where I omitted the letter E completely (since it's the most common letter) and it was very fun. Sometimes I feel like it's limiting me, but for the most part, I think it makes me stretch my creativity and find new ways to express things. Sometimes it's a strange way, but at least it's something I haven't thought about before.
Worth a shot even if you don't like the idea.
