I wouldn't say I was bitter. I kind of agree it did get kind of stale after Johto, though. There just wasn't enough to keep me interested and invested in Ash's journey anymore.
Why were you bitter Misty left the anime when her character and the show got stale in Johto? They stopped her cameos originally after May was introduced for over a decade.
