    Having music on (and having a massive collection of music of all eras and genres) always helps. I have everything from classical stuff to jazz to anime and game music, but the top stuff that inspires me are Celtic or Asian music (Celtic for traditional fantasy material, and Asian music if I want to take the wuxia route in my fantasy), jazz (Latin jazz is a great motivator for slogging through a hard part), and anime, game and Disney music (Mega Man stages make great themes if someone is transforming into superhero mode)
