Yeah there's a lot of little details I could point out that would really emphasize how heavyhanded this game is. And yeah! Something more than a fictional being. It'd be so cool if we were able to figure out where his myth comes from.

Yeah definitely. It has its faults but every story does for sure.

So, as I mentioned, Rose represents the Underground Railroad. This was a series of stops from the South to the North where slaves were smuggled to freedom. Well, just as there were people like Rose who actually did help get people to freedom, there were just as many that were trap houses. There are records of houses that would kill and torture slaves if they got brought to them on the Underground Railroad. Zlatko represents those people. And yes, I wish RA9 had been a bit more fleshed out.

Yeah I mean they would play a similar role. Like I said, I don't have much of an idea of how to balance it out, and there's not much we can do for it anyway since it's not our story. XD

Yeah I think that's why many reviewers criticized it, because they're American. Our current political climate means that people tend to get reminded of their sins of the past even though they weren't alive for it. Granted this game was developed by a guy from France so I doubt they knew that would be not well received but they could've pulled from other sources.

Yeah I do think it would create some imbalance but you could try to even it by say, let's use the spy again for this example. Say you get him in both routes, and he acts as a double agent. If you're peaceful, he'll spy for your side and help you save/free Jericho. But if you go the violence route, he turns against you and could guide the police to Jericho before Connor figures out the path, or something. There are ways to rebalance it for sure, I just can't think of anything. ^^;

Oh totally. Zlatko's storyline definitely seemed scrawny but I think it had just the right amount of meat for what it was. Personally I don't think I would have wanted to linger there much longer than I did. But Pirate's Cove definitely could've had much more meat to it.

In my personal opinion, I do think the delivery is actually not really done well. They rip several events straight from American history books and I think it would have been better if they looked at other slave revolutions around the world, like in Haiti for example, than just pull from America. Since I'm from the South and have to hear about slavery constantly, having that constantly being beaten over my head in DBH wasn't pleasant.

I think if Markus goes the violent route then since this is a CYA game those routes would be shutdown, simple as that. But you could have in the scene where they have a peaceful protest and the soldiers threaten to mow them all down, you could have certain soldiers refuse to shoot and even fight back against their commanders. You could even have a human spy join the cause that you see in Jericho sometimes that delivers intel to Markus about stuff. As the story is, there isn't much that could be fit in, you're right. But the story is not very well written, which is what causes this. Adapting the story to fit more characters in it would have definitely made it better.

Yeah they definitely wanted to highlight the discrimination. It's a huge slavery allegory, with Carl representing the good slave owners, Rose representing the Underground Railroad, and I'm thinking Hank is something like a sympathetic soldier. Alice being human would fit so well because in the demo we see the human girl that wasn't sympathetic, as was true of slavery, so having the flipside that was also present during those times would be great literary storytelling. Having more humans willing to hide people, possibly some other sympathetic soldiers, etc.

Oh yeah I mean I guess that's true with the Todd thing. I just think with the Rose incident I think is where I really put it together. But yeah I think having more benevolent humans present could have done well literary wise. But I can also see why they didn't do that.
