Ugh, I hated those things. The stupid thing about it was if you were muscular and strong enough to do the necessary amount of pull ups, usually you were too slow to complete the mile run's requirements on time. And if you were lean and were more of a runner that could do the mile in time, you'd get killed on pull ups instead. The whole thing was stupid. Even if you were good at one of the events, you'd get nailed on something else. It's like expecting Michael Phelps to do skiing events or Usain Bolt to do gymnastics instead.
The only thing I managed to get the Presidential level for was the sit and reach. And I didn't get it the first time, either. I didn't have the endurance and stamina for the mile run to be completed on time and I could manage one or two pull ups, but nothing close to what the expectations were.
Nobody in my school fulfilled everything to the point where you got one of those badges as a reward. Most people barely tried because they knew how these things usually turned out.
