Gracidea's Diary Entry #EX1:
Date: XXX XX
Ok, so you won’t believe what happened today! (Well, actually you will, cause it’s me that it happened too, and no-one else is going to read this. C’mon Grace, make sense in your diary for once! Not gonna happen)
So, I met an ACTUAL REAL LIFE SHAYMIN!!! He was called Lia. (Short for Magnolia)
He was really friendly and cheerful, and he even gave me a Gracidea flower!
Ok ok, maybe I should back up a bit. So, we were at Celadon city. There was so much to do there, everyone decided to split up and meet together tonight, so I was on my own today.
I heard from a friendly Nidorino about a landmark just out of town that I absolutely HAD to go see. It was this stone where you carve a message of thanks in honour of the pokemon Shaymin. I mean, I’m named after the Shaymin flower, so I’ve gotta see this.
So, I went out to route whatsit. (Alexandre has “helpfully” informed me it was Route 16.) And there it was. It was a block of marble like stone, perfectly smooth, well aside from the hundreds of carvings crudely chiseled into it that is.
The sign said that you were supposed to carve in a message after having been on a journey and grown as a person. Pretty sure I fit those boxes. Heck, until I met Fenrir, I was scared to leave Viridian Forest. Because of Pidgeys. PIDGEYS! I can one-shot them with my eyes closed now! (Not that I would try. I’m not that reckless.)
So I carved a thanks to everyone. (Yes, even the guys that get on my nerves. Looking at you Xandre)
After the recent gyms, they’d deserved it. I was trying not to think about how little I’d done at the time, and stop moping about, just honestly thanking them for their help instead.
So, right after I finished carving, (which took a good while. The chisel there wasn’t designed for paws!), and this will sound unbelievable, but all the flowers around burst into blossom, some straight up shot out of the ground where there was just earth before. There were all kinds of flowers I’d never seen before, in so many colours!
And that was when Lia appeared. Apparently he watches this stone, and shows up to personally thank everyone who carves their gratitude on it.
We got chatting, and I ended up telling him about our adventures. I don’t know why, but something about Lia made me open up. He just had one of those personalities. I told him about how I was feeling down, like I was a burden as a Pikachu and needed to evolve to keep up with everyone. Kinda turned into an impromptu therapy session. (Wait, isn’t that what a diary’s for? Why you no work diary!)
Oh, speaking of which, I brought up my diary, and he didn’t know what it was!? After I explained it to him, I offered him one of the pages, (torn out from the back obviously,) and convinced him to give it a try himself.
(I gave him a pen as well. Forgot to mention that at first. Problem with pens is you can’t erase them. I had more now anyway. Celadon mart is aweso-wait getting off track here Grace.)
Anyway, Lia listened to all my problems, and told me I shouldn’t feel I have to change myself for everyone else’s sake, and to talk to everyone about it instead of keeping my feeling to myself. And I think I agree now. Tomorrow I’ll have an earnest chat with the others, and we’ll see what happens.
As we were about to go our separate ways, Lia gave me a parting gift. One of the flower that had miraculously grown nearby, a pink one which turned out to be my namesake, the Gracidea. Everyone else was sooo jealous when I came back tonight wearing it. You should have seen Xandre’s face. Supposedly it doesn’t grow in these parts, and is exceedingly expensive to import. It got even better when I told them who I got it from.

Magnolia's Diary Entry #1
This is… Unfamiliar to me. I am not used to using writing implements, not writing down thoughts myself, merely watching others do so.
Ahem. Dear Diary. That is how these begin, is it not?
Today I met a Pikachu. She was friendly, but was having some friend troubles. I was happy to add my input on them, and she left pretty happily.
Ah, I’ve been repeating words too frequently I fear. I am still not used to this. But Gracidea was right, it is strangely freeing to write down my thoughts.
Ah, Gracidea was the name of the aforementioned Pikachu who also gave me this paper.
My daily check of the nearby area was relatively peaceful. There was some worry about a local Snorlax, who was approaching the main pathways, but nothing came of it, luckily, as if that Snorlax had fallen asleep blocking anything, it would take a great effort to move it.
I could sense lots of gratitude from the other locals for that. The local berry bushes had a bigger than usual harvest too, allowing less fights over food. And the local Murkrow family’s egg finally hatched into a healthy chic. And then of course the aforementioned meeting with the Pikachu Gracidea.
Today there were so many things to be grateful for. And now, thanks to Gracidea, I have this diary page to add to it. I will admit, this has been most enjoyable. Ah, but I had best stop here. I mustn’t use all the space up in a single entry.
