Slow and steady doesn’t help Slowpoke get anywhere in life.
On June 15th, Slowpoke, the Dopey Pokémon, will take centre stage. To fully prepare you for this hour long weekly event, let’s go on a journey to discover everything we can about this laid back Pokémon.
About Slowpoke

Laying down comfortably at 3’11” and weighing in at 79.4 lbs, Slowpoke has no ambition to do anything. A Slowpoke tail is said to be very delicious, often secreting a sweet sticky substance. It uses it’s tail to go fishing. If a Shellder bites on to it’s tail, Slowpoke will evolve into Slowbro. Their tails have even be described as a popular food among residence of the Pokémon world. But just like a salamander, their tails grow back.
Slowpoke gets it’s name literally from slowpoke, a person who is slow or unmotivated. It will evolve into Slowbro through levelling up, or into Slowking when traded holding a King’s rock. Slowpoke and it’s evolutions all received Galarian variants with the release of The Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC: “The Isle of Armour” and “The Crown Tundra”.
In Pokémon GO

Slowpoke’s strongest moveset is Confusion & Psychic and it has a max CP of 1,226. Comparatively, Slowbro and Slowking have the same strongest moveset and both boast a max CP of 2,545.
The Shiny variant of Slowpoke was added to the game on November 17th 2020, for the Pokémon HOME event.
Tips for Spotlight Hour

This Spotlight hour, which runs form 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time will also feature double the Candy for transferring Pokémon. This is a great time to clear out your Pokémon Storage and get some extra Candy for doing so. Good luck and happy hunting.
See you around, Genesect!
