Challenge Adventures Rules

Welcome one, and welcome all, to the new Challenge Adventures Board! Do you have your own set of Challenges for any particular Pokemon Game? If so, this sub forum could prove to be very useful! However, do take note that we have certain rules to follow!

♣ All PXR Community Rules apply!

If you aren't aware of them, take a look here.

♣ Single Run/Continual Run

You may use this sub forum for all Challenges created by you, the Member. Just be aware that you can only create a new thread for every new challenge like everyone who has done so here, or you can do a Continual Run, like Elbub's here. The choice is yours, and yours alone!

♣ Pokemon Challenges Threads

- A Nuzlocke is just a variant of a Challenge, you may create your own variant, or discuss any potential ideas before making the thread. There's no limits to this, but ensure its a working idea ;)

♣ No UNNECESSARY posts!

Keep swearing either censored or minimal. Overall, any posts that are deemed useless, inflammatory or spam will be deleted.

♣ Hacked Challenges are allowed.

Some Hacks are pretty cool, I'll admit. So you're allowed to post not just the official games, but cool hacks that you deem worthy playing can be placed here for Challenges.

♣ Duplicates aren't allowed.

Make every Challenge as unique and different as you can. Do not post threads which are similar but with minor differences!

♣ Double Post!

Only one Double Post per person, and that's when you've got a new update for your thread!

♣ Anything else that needs to be added here?

What is the PXR Challenge Adventures?

A Challenge is just a rough play-through of your game with your own set of unique rules which enhances your gameplay in various ways.

How is the Nuzlocke different?

The Nuzlocke Challenge is specific to a set of rules intended to create a higher level of difficulty while playing any of the Pokémon handheld games. The rules also serve the purpose of encouraging the use of Pokémon the player would not normally choose, and promoting closer bonds with the player's Pokémon. The rules are not an in-game function, but are self-imposed on the part of the player, and thus subject to variation. Think of it as a variant of a Challenge.

What are the General Rules?

Universal Rules
[*]The player could only capture the first Pokemon they encountered in each new area.
[*]If a Pokemon fainted consider it dead and release it.

Optional Rules
[*]Players must also nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
[*]Black out/White out is considered to be "game over", even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
[*]Players can accept Pokémon that are received freely from NPCs.
[*]Players must change the battle style to SET.
[*]Players can't heal outside the use of Pokémon Centres and via moves such as Softboiled.
[*]Players can't heal outside of battle.
[*]Players can visit a Pokémon Centre visit per town any number of times.
[*]Players can't use held items.
[*]Players may only use PokéBalls.
[*]Players cannot use legendary Pokémon or they can box them as trophies.
[*]Make comics/videos/journals of your challenge and have fun!

Other Variants

There has been also other variants of Nuzlocke Challenges around the Internet, and particularly Youtube, so if you want to make your own variant of a Nuzlocke Challenge, don't be afraid of doing so, but keep in mind, you have to include the Universal Rules at all times!

FAQs

♣ How do I join one?
Go through the rules, and see what kind of challenge you'd like to participate in. You can either choose to follow someone else's Challenge and make your own, or create your own Challenge. Follow or Lead. It's entirely up to you.

♣ Where are the rules?
They can be found right here.

♣ What are the current/ongoing Challenges?
They can be found right here.

♣ Will there be events or such?
Definitely! Although the activity surge won't be that huge, you always get a token as an appreciation of participation.

♣ I have some ideas! I wish to contribute! Who do I look for?
