Bad Habits lead to late nights, listening to Ed Sheeran
We can’t explain exactly why this has come to be, it’s completely out of the blue. Niantic and Pokémon GO has collaborated with Grammy Award winning artist, Ed Sheeran to bring a special performance you won’t see anywhere else.
Alongside the music you will also see an increase in Water-Type starter Pokémon appearing near you. This is a not so silent nod to the fact the Ed always picks Water-Type first partner Pokémon when he starts a new Pokémon game. Looks like he has something in common with yours truly.

We are not sure if his portrayal of Ron Weasley, in the Harry Potter series, was what helped boost his music career, (yes this is a joke), but we are so glad that he has had the opportunity to bless us with his soothing tones and catchy lyrics.
Could this event have been hinted at by Ed on his Instagram? It’s very possible. On May 20, 2021, Ed posted the following leaving many to wonder, is this a hint, or just a Pokémon fan sharing his love of a giant plush Snorlax.
