When the morning arrives, you decide to head deep into town and scope out the police station, hoping to get an idea of who works there and maybe get an update on the situation and what they know. You also hope to find something there related to the Stalkers and get a better idea of the situation at hand.

As you effortlessly levitate your egg-shaped body over the dusty old road, you see only a few Pokémon out and about, and even then in broad daylight, they seem a bit at unease. Nearby, Ninetales and a Noctowl look at you curiously, having never seen a Tapu Lele like you before. While they seem to innately know you’re a Pokémon, it’s the very first time they’ve seen one of your own kind before.

Upon arriving at the police station, you see the small, gray-stone police station not too far off from the dockyard. The weather seems somewhat sunny today and the smell of the sea quickly hits you as you approach to get a closer look. You decide to start by searching the grounds and exterior first. From what you can see, the police station is quite a sturdy building, especially toward the lockup area. A strong felon Pokémon, even one capable of causing earthquakes and fissures, isn’t going to be able to cause any kind of trouble in there. Meanwhile, the rest of it seems quite formidable and there aren’t too many windows. The only ones appear to be small slits, enough to allow some illumination and ventilation, but narrow enough to prevent any intruders or escapees.

The exterior doesn’t seem to reveal too much. Nothing seems to catch your attention, so you decide to head inside. From an initial assessment, it doesn’t seem at all welcoming. The lack of décor and the abundance of simple furniture seem to add to the intimation that almost makes you feel like you’re here for a crime you didn’t commit. Meanwhile, you can see the building was intended for a staff of at least two dozen Pokémon, but many of these desks and stations are completely empty and just have been used for storage. It’s also obvious there aren’t any official detectives working here. At one point, it looked like there were at least four with their own offices, but now there’s nothing but piles of papers and boxes on these desks.

From the staff that are around, you can see Dantus the Dragapult is the sheriff here with Yanza the Purugly as his deputy. Both of them look quite busy and don’t seem to pay you much mind as you pretend to be here for filling out permit forms. You decide to make a note of Dantus and Yanza working here, wondering if they might be able to provide some information later if they’re willing to help and cooperate. But, you imagine they don’t seem like the warm, fun, and friendly type judging from their behavior.

Once Dantus and Yanza aren’t looking, you decide to quietly slip by the main office area and check out the rest of the police station, heading into the archive and evidence room. You imagine there might be a lot of useful material here, but it likely isn’t the place Dantus and Yanza want you poking around in. But you tell yourself you’re doing this for their own good and the rest of the town. You have a feeling they most likely won’t grant you permission and there’s no time to hassle with that.

As you quietly enter and close the wooden door behind you, you can see even after flicking up the old light switch, it’s still rather dark in here and the only old overhead ceiling light gives off a very dim illumination. On top of that, it’s also rather claustrophobic, dusty, and not the most organized place with some loose papers and binders here and there that still need to be organized. It’s quite obvious a file clerk is another staff position they need to fill here.

You skim the shelves and find most of files, binders, boxes, and folders are organized by date with a first-in first-out basis. You find the oldest documents here are close to ten years old, which seems to be their record retention span until they go into offsite storage with anything unsolved being considered a cold case. After examining a few at random, you see typical cases of vandalism, theft, and domestic disputes. Occasionally there are murders, but nothing seems supernatural about them. Killings out of revenge, muggings gone horribly wrong, or simply an unhinged individual losing their minds are all there, but nothing out of some occult-related incident that you thought might be related to the Demoni.

It isn’t until you get to the records that are roughly six years old do you find something unusual. One binder seems to have the label of “Majutsu Files” and you find unusual mentions of Pokémon that seemed to belong to some kind of cult, sect, or organization. You begin to wonder if this is in fact related to the Demoni and the Stalkers and it seems like there might be a link here. One file in particular, dated 28KTN3013, almost makes you do a double-take when you read it.

You realize you and the others staying at Benni’s weren’t the first group of Savants that were here before…

=Majutsu Investigation Report= has been noted in the Team Records.

Other similar reports can be found involving other members of this “shadow organization” that was never identified before. Other mentions of Majutsu can be found here, but there isn’t anything conclusive when it comes to evidence in this binder.

At least… not until you find a roughly beat-up cardboard box right besides it. You also see it’s been labeled “Majutsu Materials” with a black marker. You decide to lightly cut the packaging tape to carefully open it, hoping no one is going to be looking for this box anytime soon.

Inside, you find two strange objects that were confiscated and put into this box. The first one seems to be a kind of plate with a strange, reflective surface. You pick it up to take a closer look and suddenly you see your own misty and distorted reflection. Behind your reflection, it seems almost hazy and dreamlike, and suddenly it flushes you with a strange, mystifying feeling…

You feel almost overtaken for a minute, not sure what just seeped into your spirit. It almost feels like a stain on your soul, unable to be washed or flushed out. And you’re not sure what it even means or why this is happening.

You then try to examine what appears to be some kind of jagged, thorny-shaped symbol or insignia on a dark metal plate, but it too… seems almost infected and tainted with something truly unnatural…

ChiChi has inherited 2 Points of Kurosuōbā…

You shiver, feeling like more than half of you has been detached and disconnected from this very realm of reality. It almost feels as though some other kind of dimension is trying to lure you and enrapture you through these bizarre artifacts. But you can only wonder… how were these relics put into this box so nonchalantly? Surely whatever Pokémon put these here had to have been affected by this or at least knew about it… right?

You sheepishly stash away the odd emblem plate, truly hoping no one else comes in here with you because with the way you look and feel right now, you’re quite certain they’ll know you’ve been tampering with things in here and they would catch you red-handed.

After shaking off your uneasiness temporarily, you decide to head out of there, trying desperately to remain quiet and keep your relaxed composure. Thankfully, when you exit the archive and evidence room, Dantus and Yanza are nowhere around. You quickly head for the front entrance, push your way out the front door, and turn around to make your way back toward Benni’s farm. You feel light-headed, but you try to calm yourself. The open air at least makes you feel a little better, now.

Other Pokémon around you are almost suspicious of you and wondering what might be wrong. A nearby Chansey stops to take a look at you while an elderly Ampharos stops crossing the road to watch you, but you try to calmly levitate and float away from them, making sure none of them watch you as you make your way north back to the farm.

Thankfully, after heading down that final road and looking behind your back, you’re almost certain no one watched you head back to the farm.

…almost…
