After waking up, you still feel the darkness lingering onto your soul, but decide time is of the essence and there isn’t enough of it to be wasting. You decide to power through that dark pressure and that morning, after eating breakfast with the others, you decide to head out and speak to Ressi the Grotle.
You find her working at the Seabourne Office Plaza, working a day shift as an administrative assistant for the Brixel Chemical Corporation. It seems like an average office job and strikes you as possibly a bit dull, but to Ressi, it seems to be a good fit given her kind of demeanor. You can tell quite a bit about her personality even just by looking at her desk. It’s extremely orderly, very clean, and everything is labeled clearly and sorted in alphabetical order.
Despite the pain your spirit is facing, you feel a discussion with Ressi is likely very low risk, so you decide to approach her and you ask about the Aether Prism as well as what she knows about the Stalkers.
“I want to figure out what’s going on, too, but I can’t,” Ressi tells you, feeling frustrated about it. “The other night, when Sanfer died, I had a dream. Hashani and Terron were there, and we just attacked him. Mindlessly and for no good reason. I kept stomping on his body and crushing his bones. And the strange thing was that it felt right and noble in the dream, but I woke up feeling horrible guilt over it, especially when I found out he actually died. It left me feeling personally responsible for it…”
“Have you heard of Edifice?” you ask Ressi, wondering just how much she knows about the Stalker that caused this. “We believe he is responsible for that. Yes… Sanfer died that night, but it wasn’t your fault. You had no control over your own self in that dream and neither did Hashani or Terron. You know in your heart you would never do that to Sanfer or any other Pokémon.”
Ressi still looks down, trying to consider what you said. You can sense she hasn’t talked to either Hashani or Terron about this, yet, but you feel it might do her a whole lot of good if she opened up about this to them. They too, may be feeling this same way, and you know it’s exactly the kind of guilt and shame Edifice wants his victims to be feeling.
“Maybe I just need more time,” she tells you, still looking like she might be keeping some of this bottled up. “I didn’t want to get mixed up in any of this. Maybe it’s related to this prism, maybe it’s not. I don’t know and I hate not knowing.”
You decide to use that to help inform Ressi. You gather that she doesn’t like being in the dark about these kinds of things, given how orderly she keeps her belongings. It strikes you as someone who wants to know where the answers are at all times and have the assurance that knowledge is close at hand. So you decide to give her the information she wants to know.
“It’s an Aether Prism,” you inform her, assuring her. “We believe it may help us fight back against some of these Stalkers. As you’ve probably realized from that dream, these are supernatural killers and they can’t be stopped with only conventional weaponry. These Aether Prisms, like the one you own right here, may hold the power that can stop them on the same supernatural plane that these Stalkers operate on.”
Ressi turns to look back at the prism in her possession, and she nods, feeling a kind of supernatural essence dwelling deep inside this energy conduit. You sense her lack of understanding of how these function and what they’re for is frustrating to her, but she accepts she can’t be expected to know everything. As she realizes, not everything can be sensed down to explainable science and logic.
“And Edifice…?” she asks, looking back to you as you’ve informed her about the identity of one of these Stalkers. “You’re sure he was responsible for that horrible dream and the death of Sanfer?”
You nod, and then look directly into her eyes.
“We even know who exactly this Stalker is,” you tell her, but decide for her own safety, she can’t know who Edifice is or else she could easily become the next target. “I wish I could tell you, but if the Stalkers were to ever find out that you know this, it could be deadly. I want to assure you we’re on it and we’re doing everything we can.”
#25 Ressi the Grotle has become Compliant.
She then slides the Aether Prism to you, as you have assured her with the knowledge you have, it’s far better to be in your hands.
“Take it,” she tells you with a confident smile. “I didn’t know what this thing was about before, but it sounds like you’re much more on top of things than I am and if this can help you stop Edifice or those other Stalkers, I’m all for you having it.”
You place your hand upon the prism and you feel that same familiar otherworldly energy deep within it… the same you have felt from the other Black Moon weapons and relics.
[Aether Prism] has been added to the Team Inventory (Black Moon Relics).
“Thank you,” you tell her.
“There’s… something else, one other thing before you go,” Ressi tells you. “My apartment is at the Seaport Lofts and I think I might have stumbled across something else that seems a little similar to this. It was toward the back of the building and it had this strange symbol. I was taking my trash out the other night and a bunch of scrap paper sheets got caught in the wind and got blown around. I had to go fetch all of the pieces, but one of them landed toward this… odd symbol and at first I thought it was just some graffiti, but there was this strange presence from it. At first I thought it was just my imagination, same thing like this prism, but I got the feeling that maybe it wasn’t. I haven’t told anyone about this yet so I’m not sure if I’m the only one that knows about it. If you decide to come over tonight, I can show you where it is.”
It does make you wonder… could this be related to the other Black Moon weapons and relics, or possibly be about something else? You make a mental note of it, thinking if Ressi has had some exposure to these supernatural relics, it’s likely what she found could be related and that it isn’t just some graffiti.
“I’ll look into it,” you assure her. “Thanks for your help and please, take care of yourself. It’s getting dark and dangerous out there.”
She nods, and then you decide to head back to the farmstead. It’s coming close to the end of Ressi’s workday as well, and you’re just hoping she makes it back home okay.
