Has it really been six years already? Where has the time gone?
The sixth anniversary of Pokémon GO is quickly approaching. And what better way to celebrate such a milestone than to promote the fan favorite Pokémon…Charizard. I mean, it is number six in the National Pokédex after all. This event will feature themed Field Research and even a Battle Weekend for those GBL fans.

There will be a Battle Weekend running on July 9th and 10th. Players can enjoy 4x the Stardust from GO Battle League rewards as well as the opportunity to to play 20 sets of the GBL each day. Charged TMs can be used to help Shadow Pokémon forget the move Frustration. And in an effort to try and stop you, Team GO Rocket balloons will appear every three hours.
You will need to stock up on Rocket Radar pieces if you want to track down Giovanni. This time he has taken control of Latios and will be a force to be reckoned with if you don’t put an end to his plans. To try and stop you, Go Rocket Grunts have recruited some new Pokémon including Geodude, Shinx and Purrloin.
Did you notice anything strange about the promo image associated with the anniversary event? The silhouette of Pansear in the background. This is most likely connected to the Global Challenge that will take place during Pokemon GO Fest: Berlin. What are you most excited for during this event? Is the return of Zapdos exciting or disappointing? Let us know on Twitter.
See you around, Genesect!
