What is that Pokémon doing here? Something doesn’t seem right!
Don’t worry, you are not seeing double. That may look like your buddy, but it’s just an illusion created by none other than Zorua. The Tricky Fox Pokémon has chosen this spooky season to make it’s Pokémon GO debut. However it has disguised itself to try and catch you unaware.
Zorua and Zoroark Appear

After a game breaking debut during this Tuesday’s Spotlight Hour, most of the world was unable to experience the surprise that was Zorua. That is, until today. The idea behind this new mechanic of finding and capturing Zorua is simple. Look for your buddy spawning on screen, catch it, and watch it transform into Zorua. Catch enough of them and you can evolve it into Zoroark using 50 Candies.
Trainers are having lots of fun with this, setting their buddy as a Shiny Legendary Pokémon, and watching them pop up on screen all over the place. Never has such a thing been seen before. But it’s all in good fun as each one of these spawns is actually a Zoura in disguise.
There is no word on when these spawns will become less frequent, so get out while you still can. (And when there is still the double catch candy bonus.) For even more fun, @PokémonGOApp is hosting a contest on Twitter. By following them and retweeting the below tweet, you could win 1 of 10,000 Premier Battle Passes, or 1 of 200 Zorua Avatar Outfits. Or you could get tricked by Zorua. I personally won a Raid Pass. Good luck to all of you, and happy hunting.
Happy #PokemonGOHalloween, Trainers!
